A girl in a viking helmet rollerbladed over the rough terrain of route one, her arms wrapped around a round spheal clutched to her chest. The spheal had a large red nose and dark blue triangles over his eyes, giving him a clown-like appearance.
"Spheal! Spheal!" The pokemon constantly barked happily, a smile spread from ear to pointed ear.
The girl's bright brown eyes swam in their sockets as she continued forward, observing the trees around her as she picked up her Arcanine-print rollerblades to keep going.

There was a low growl from the bushes near-by. It w\sounded like an angry pokemon about to attack.
Investigate or move on?

"Spheal! Spheal!" The blue pokemon barked, wiggling in Sweyn's grip until she let go.
"Flip! Stay away!" The brunette said in a frightened voice, keeping her distance from the bushes as her spheal flopped near it to see what caused the threatening noise.

A Poochyena lept straight out of the bushes, aiming a Tackle at the Spheal. It enjoyed battling, and got some joy out of making other pokemon beg for mercy.

"Spheal! Spheal!" The pokemon cried, scrambling to get out of the way of Poochyena, but failing. He was flopped onto his back, helplessly flailing his flippers.
"Oh, Flip!" Sweyn cried, still too scared to venture any nearer the terrifying poochyena.

The Poochyena then used Howl, and prepared to Tackle again next turn. This Spheal oviously had no idea how to battle.

Sweyn merely stood there fretting over the condition of her spheal, fists to her mouth, knees knocking together. "Oooh, Fliiip! Do somethiing!" She cried helplessly.
The spheal was still unable to get off of its round back, merely rolling side to side in his struggle.

+Don't you know any attacks?+ The Poochyena sighed in exasperation. +Water Gun or something? You're meant to use them on me!+ This wasn't going to be any fun if the Spheal just flailed around like this. It used Tackle once more.

The tackle put Flip back on his feet, although he was now weakened quite a bit. He didn't much take a liking to Poochyena's comments, and sprayed a powder snow at his foe.
"Oh, Flip.." Sweyn muttered, still worried.

Argh! The Poochyena had been hoping for a Water Gun instead. This snow was COLD! It took quite a bit of damage, before using Tackle on the Spheal once more.

"SPHEEEAL!" The pokemon wailed as he was sent bouncing backward, tumbling to Sweyn's feet. He looked up at his trainer pathetically.
"Oh, here.." Sweyn said with worry, bending down to her pokemon and taking a potion out of the black bag on her back, and spraying him with it.
"Spheal!" The pokemon flipped up, feeling as good as new, and faced the poochyena with newfound determination.

The Poochyena used Howl once more, and refrained from actually attacking the Spheal. I mean... it wouldn't take long to beat this thing anyway... would it?

Sweyn was still unsure about letting her little spheal battle, and remained silent as she kneeled on the ground with her bag still in front of her, discarded potion still in hand as she watched.
"SPHEEAL!" Flip yelled as he released another attack of powder snow.

The two Powder Snow's were enought to defeat the Poochyena. Maybe it wasn't actually as strong as it said it was.
Flip gains one level! The Poochyena was able to be captured.

"Oh, Flip!" Sweyn gasped, thinking he was lucky to be alive after that. She spread her arms wide as the spheal jumped into her, snuggling against her cheek. "I'm so glad you're okay!" The girl gushed, hugging her pokemon tightly. She then placed Spheal on the ground, pushing herself to her rollerblade-clad feet, and picking up her backpack as well. "Let's try to get out of here before we meet more pokemon like that.." She said, with a nervous glance toward the unconcious poochyena. She then began to roll slowly down the path, making sure not to trip over stray rocks. Spheal tucked in his flippers and rolled much like a ball after his trainer. They still had a bit of a ways to go before they were out of route one.

A Stray Butterfree was flying low overhead, and sprinkling some Powder everywhere. A couple of wild pokemon near-by were falling asleep from it, so better be careful. It started to fly over Sweyn and Flip.

"Huh? What's... thaaaaaaaawwwwwn.." Sweyn yawned as the unknown powder was sprinkled over her and her spheal, who yawned as well. "Maybe we should... take.. a little break.." The brunette muttered, eyes already closed as she laid down right where she was in the middle of the path, spheal snuggling under her arm as they both fell asleep.

A small Wynaut came over to the girl, wondering why her and her Spheal were asleep in the middle of the path. It pokemon her gently, hoping she would wake up soon.

The spheal opened its large mouth to reveal two pointed teeth, then turned away from the wynaut to get more sleep.

This time the Wynaut poked the girl. Maybe she would actually pay some attention to where she was. +You're sleeping in the middle of the path!+ It screeched at the Spheal.
