Adventuring away from the laboratory, she found herself on the first route; the first step of her journey. A faint smile appeared on her face as she released Ahanko from his Pokeball.
Her green eyes shimmered as the wandered around, looking at every inch of the road and such. Flip flops made a 'pfft' sound as they moved, the sound vibrating through the trees.
"There doesn't seem to be much here.." her voice echoed slightly, as she looked down at Ahanko who was sauntering beside her, a mischievous look on his face. Continuing onward, she made small steps at a time, being wary of her surroundings.

Not wary enough for the pokemon she'd encounter. A cry echoed through the air; "Gast.... ly...." For the next moments, it was peaceful.
"GASTLY!" A ghost pokemon pounced at the trainer's back, ready to use Lick on her.

Turning around, her face was almost smack dab with that of the Gastly. Eyes widened, as she definately wasn't expecting this. However, Ahanko was. Backing up slightly electricity filled the tip of it's tail, anxious to use it. However, Ahanko couldn't use such an attack yet, so it settled with trying to tacke the Gastly.
Falling through the other side of the Pokemon, Ahanko landed with a thud. Kristen looked down at him, eyes still widened. "Oh my.." Her voice was sullen, a bit scared of what the Gastly might do next.

Devilish red pupils glared down over the human and her companion; a worthless cat, no less. Laughing maniacally, the ghost pokemon flew down to the fallen shinx and tried a Lick on it, bloodthirsty grin accompanying its features.

The Shinx tried to avoid the attack, but it didn't work. Ahanko started shivering, trying to regain its composure. In the corner, clenching her fists, Kristen stood. She was slowly beginning to adore her companion, and didn't want to see any harm done.
"Ahanko, leer!" Kristen yelled, as the Shinx slowly began to stop shivering and glared it's eyes, a slight beam of light coming out, hoping to surprise it a little so Kristen could figure out the next move.
Pondering, she wouldn't know what she would do. She slightly knew that normal attacks didn't work against Ghost type Pokemon - it was common sense. Shrugging, she supposed she would have to leer it into fainting, if that was possible.

The Gastly smirked at the leer, grin faltering slightly. Then it replied with a piercing glare of its own. +Is that all you have? Leer and Tackle?+ It hissed, not making another move until they answered. Or at least the pokemon with her--everyone knows that most trainers can't understand pokemon.

Lowering her head to Ahanko, she watched the two Pokemon converse, completely oblivious to what they were saying. What a great way to start out becoming a trainer, fighting a Pokemon she knew she couldn't defeat.
+Does it look like I know anything else?+ He fired back at the Gastly, it was completely obvious he didn't know anything else, so why ask? Lowering to the ground, he looked up at the Gastly that floated above him, eyes squinting.

Suddenly, a freezing gust of wind suddounded the ghastly. Since it wasn't a normal type, the attack hit the ghost, who wasn't really expecting that. From a bush, a blue fox-like pokemon stepped out. <I hate ghosts,> she said. It was a Glaceon. Smart eyes made it clear that she wasn't some normal dumb wild beast, and that there was something more to her.

Kristen looked at the Glaceon, eyes widening slightly. It was a pretty creature, and say silly as it may sound, she was a bit almost graced by her presence.
Ahanko looked over at the Glaceon after the ghost was hit with the wind, a bit happy but a bit sad. Ahanko wanted to deal with the ghost himself, but was in no mood to argue +Especially when they pick fights they know they can't win+ he stated, shrugging slightly knowing it wasn't all that true.

The ghastly seemed to glare as it came to give the Glaceon a large lick in her face. The pokemon gave a squeak, yelling at it and telling it to shove that disgusting tongue back because she was not spending hours cleaning up afterwards. Glancing at the trainer, she then said, <Well, since you're here, you might as well tell me what to do.>

She nodded, looking at the Glaceon, then at the evil Gastly. Ahanko stepped out of the way by Kristen's side, deciding to let the Glaceon take over, his attacks were useless afterall.
"Glaceon, another Icy Wind should hopefully do it." She nodded, guessing that that was the attack earlier used. Ahanko looked at the Glaceon, wondering if it would truly listen to Kristen.

The Glaceon thought about it, before executing the attack. She concentrated for a while before letting a strong, icy wind surround the ghastly again. The ghost pokemon, angrily, used Spite, and the Glaceon felt rather weird. She seemed to find that the energy used to summon such a wind was a lot harder to use now.

It would take her a while to get used to telling a Pokemon what to do in battle, and this was the first step. "Hm, Glaceon, try a bite." She wasn't exactly sure at what level the Pokemon was, but she knew Bite was in the moveset, and if the Glaceon knew bite, then it would be effective against the Ghost.
If not, it would be a different story. Ahanko, however, was itching to battle. Electricity could still be seen coming out of the tip of his tail, and he sighed. Glaring at the Gastly, a slight beam came out of it's eyes to lower its defense.

The pokemon attack without much question this time and sank her fangs in the ghastly. That effectively brought the ghost pokemon down, causing it to faint. The ice pokemon then started to cough, trying to rid her of the disgusting taste. <Eww gross, gross, GROSS... I'm never doing that again... EVER.>

Laughing slightly, she leaned down to look at the Glaceon better. "Thank you.." She offered a faint smile, then looked at Ahanko, patting him on the head. "And thank you too."
Ahanko had tried, and that was what he was most interested in. He looked at the Glaceon, and frowned. +Bite, hm? Well that wouldn't of been hard to do.." he sighed.

The Glaceon huffed a bit. <Not my fault you can't even bite something,> she muttered to Ahanko. Glancing at the trainer, she let out a polite <You're welcome.> <Aren't you going to catch that?> she the asked.

Glaring slightly, Ahanko jumped up on Kristens shoulder and perched himself. Leaning upward, Kristen nodded at the Glaceon. "I suppose I should"
Getting a Pokeball out of her satchel, she aimed it at the Gastly. The Gastly was then teleported by the red light into the Pokeball. "Thanks for reminding me."

((Traditionnaly, you thrw the ball at the pokemon. Like that, mods can make it shake without it sounding weird since the ball is in the trainer's hands o.O))
The ball shook violentl for a while before finally stopping, resting peacefully in the trainer's hands.

The Glaceon looked at the trainer for a while, before asking if she could stick around with her for a bit longer. <The full moon is still in a while, I have time to kill, and its better to travel in groups, right?>

((o.o! Whoops! Sorry about that. I wasn't quite sure how to do it. Hehe.))
Kristen looked at the Glaceon and nodded. "I would assume so. But..whats important about the full moon?" She was either completely stupid or she just didn't know about the full moon.
Ahanko stared at Kristen, pawing at her. She's not really coming with us is she? He thought to himself.
