The fire trainer walked into the gym, rather confident. This was going to be easy... With Ryuuku and the rest of his fire pokemon, no stupid grass gym was going to stop him!
"Hey! I'm challenging you for a gym battle!" he called out.

Mark approaches, a small huddle of girls eagerly squealing and whining like puppies to get the closest seats in the stands to him.
Winking at them, he faced the Fire Trainer. "Conifident, eh? We'll see."
He released his two pokemon, their jarring war cries mingling with the screams of the girls to create and unearthly sound.

"Ryuuku, Hades!" he called. "You're up!" His Charizard flew into the ring as he let his Arcanine out of his ball. "Ladies first," he taunted. This was going to be easy... A good level difference and he didn't doubt that his pokemon was a lot more experienced.

"Fire types? You won't think that when I beat you!" Mark replied confidently. His posse cheered in the background, practically drooling over him. His Pokémon appeared equally confident and stood by him before dispersing at his command.
"Tropius, take to the skies! Ludicolo, hold your ground down here. Use rain dance!" he commanded, smiling. Surely the rain would put an end to the effectiveness of those fire attacks he knew his foe would be relying on. As Ludicolo performed some kind of ritual, the skies began to open and a light rain fell inside the gym. It would pick up next turn as the attack came into full force.

"Those aren't my only attacks, you know," said Blaze. He'd wait out the rain. It shouldn't last too long... He knew that water attacks were to be expected, which is why he chose Hades. She didn't seem to mind the water as much as his other fire pokemon... "Hades, Thunder Fang on Ludicolo! Stop it from dancing! Ryuuku, Air Slash!" The dragon-like pokemon flew up as well and charged towards the Tropius. Sharp claws swiped at the pokemon as below, Hades bounded over to the Lodicilo, ready to bite down.

Luckily, Ludicolo had managed to finish before he was hit. There was no escaping the thunder fang, but his duel grass/water type protected him from a super effective blow. Of course, the rain meant the accuracy of electric attacks, but Mark was ready for that.
"Ludicolo, use nature power! Hit Arcanine at close range! Tropius, dodge and use gust!" Ludicolo backed up his large body and obeyed his trainer's commands while the leaf dragon whirled around with speed, aiming a gust at the Charizard. He'd really have to keep a distance considering he had both flying and fire attacks to worry about up there.

The gust slowed the pokemon in its tracks, the Charizard having trouble staying airborn. He let out a grunt as he continued to flap his wings stubbornly. Hades was hit by the attack rather hard, the water not doing too well for her.
"Ryuuku, Dragon rage! Hades, Hang on in there and use a bite!"
The Charizrad took a deep breath and sent a fury to purple fire towards the Tropius, hoping to get a hit. Hades leaped over tot eh ludicolo again, mouth open for an attack.

"Okay, Ludicolo, use FakeOut! Make that Arcanine flinch!" Mark cried enthousiastically, blowing a kiss to his female audience. They sighed loudly and began to shriek, making the setting in which Blaze fought increasingly annoying.
Tropius, on the other hand, struggled with a harder opponent. Mark didn't pay too much attention when his Pokémon took a substantial hit, knowing that such an attack only ever stripped the victim of 40HP. Of course, he lacked the ability to comprehend how devastating that was in his case. Casually, he replied, "Tropius...use Stomp!"
Tropius, struggling through that powerful dragon rage, flew over Charizard and tried a stomp attack as it drove down. Grass attacks were useless so there wasn't much it could do...

Hades was hit by the attack and it made her flinch, just as the gym leader hoped. "Hang in there, girl! Use Agility when you get the chance!" The pokemon was still recovering from the attack and didn't have time to do anything. Ryuuku was sent to the slamming into the ground from the attack. "Get back up there and use a Fire Fang!" commanded Blaze. The pokemon got back up with a groan and took to the skies once again. He flew towards the large grass dinosaur, ready to clamp down.

Mark smiled confidently again. In his eyes, he was winning. "Ludicolo, Nature Power! Don't let your opponent get away!" Pushing back his hair, he leaned on his left in a flirtatious manner. The girls sighed again. In the meantime, Ludicolo was in a good position. Remaining pretty calm for a big and slow Pokémon, he used a strong nature power, still being influenced by the rainy weather.
Tropius, on the other hand, found himself vulnerable. After a dead-on attack, he'd celebrated a little too soon. As the Charizard charged upwards, it's fangs sank right into Tropius' neck. Panicking, he thrashed. Still acting relatively cool, his trainer gave orders, "Tropius, don't take that. Razor leaf! Cut loose!" Swinging his head violently, Tropius sent out a whirl of sharp leaves. Surely Mark wasn't thinking so straight, unless sharp leaves really were the key...despite it's unlikeliness to make Charizard let go.

Tiny cuts appeared on the Charizard's skin, but it refused to let go. It thrashed around, teeth still clamped on the Tropius' neck. "That's it! Just don't let go! Hades, be careful! Use a Thunder Fang when you get the chance!" The chance didn't seem to be coming any time soon though, for the Nature power attacks were pretty powerful... The Arcanine still attempted teh attack though, despite the immense pain that started to sport from her hind legs.

Tropius continued to thrash, but sadly, there was little hope for it. There was no command that Mark could make to free his Pokémon; it was caught in a death lock. Gasping loudly, Tropius' wings went limp as it began to fall from the sky. Fire Fang was too powerful in such a position, and it felt itself completely drain as Charizard won the advantage. Tropius was likely finished at this point...
Sighing, Mark smiled as if nothing were wrong. "It's okay...it's okay..." he said in a cocky manner as he looked to his fan girls, "My Ludicolo can handle this. Ludicolo, let's see another nature power! Finish Arcanine!"
Ludicolo took the Thunder Fang on purpose, getting a clear chance to hit Arcanine. Being a double-type, it was neither uneffective or effective, so Ludicolo could make it through and attack again. He could see that his opponent was getting tired, and he'd have the strength to take out Charizard next....he thought.

The nature power was enough to bring Hades down. Returning her, Blaze sent out another pokemon. "Moon, it's your turn!" An eevee, shiny in color, was sent out. "Start off with a Sand Attack on that Ludicolo! Blind that cactus!" As the eevee started to kick sand towards the pokemon, Ryuuku was being pulled down by the weight of the Tropius. "Finsih it off with a Shadow Claw, Ryuuku!" The fire lizard let the Tropius go, but before it could fall too far, it used its powerful claws, attempting a slash on the pokemon underneath.

Covering his eyes in an attempt to block the sand, Ludicolo found himself walking straight into a trap. He was totally in range for a nasty attack, and nothing but luck could save him from Charizard's wrath. Watching through his fingers as his ally fell from the sky, it was clear now that he was on his own. Coughing loudly, Tropius bounced up from the attack before hitting the ground with force and fainting abruptly. Mark returned the Pokémon, still paying no mind to the fact that he may just have royally screwed himself up.
"Ludicolo..get some energy back. We'll finish these two clowns...Use absorb!" Mark ordered lazily, a little distracted by his slobbering posse.
Reaching out blindly, Ludicolo used absorb as he attempted to steal some of Eevee's health. The attack was close enough to hit, but still having to worry about sand in his eyes, it wasn't terribly accurate.

The Eevee manage to dodge most of the attack, but still got some of his enery sucked away. "Helping hand and Ember!" Despite the rain, the Helping hand should balance it out... The Charizard felt his teammate's energy flowing in him as he breathed out balls of fire onto the Ludicolo.

Ludicolo fell to the ground, on the utter brink of unconsciousness. With its last desperate attack, it shot a Water Gun at the Charizard, falling to the ground.
Mark slapped a hand to his head. His Pokemon was down, but not yet out.

Resiliant, the Charizard gave out a oud cry from the attack, but refused to go down. It let out a Dragon Rage as his teammate used tackle, as per their trainers order.
Blaze gave a little smirk. This was in the bag...

"Uugh...damn..." Mark cursed under his breath, "Ludicolo, roll out of the way! Come on! We have to finish this!" he encouraged.
Ludicolo, desperate to save himself, rolled to the left. Although he managed to escape the utter wrath of Charizard's Dragon Rage, he was tackled over by Eevee. Being sent into the wall of the stadium, his body had been pushed to it's limits. Ludicolo tried very hard to get to it's feet, but could not muster the strength. Swaying, he fell over; fainted.
Mark sighed. "Looks like you got the best of me. Sorry, ladies..." he apologized, still seeming cool despite the loss. His fangirls sighed in the background. Mark walked over to Blaze. "Keep it up" he said, smiling, "Here's your badge. Don't get too cocky though, your next gym will be harder than this one" he said finally, winking. Handing over a badge to Blaze, he put his hands together for a light clap.
Blaze received the Grass Badge! ... All participating Pokémon gain 1/2 a level!
