Sigh. The third gym. Chase had taken a long time to reach the next gym, but finally, she was here. Having dropped off the injured Farfetch'd at a Pokémon Centre, she was ready for her next challenged. With a recent visit to the move tutor (who'd gotten quite expensive since last time), she'd prepared two Pokémon for this battle. She had a good idea of what she needed, and she assured herself that she'd picked the right ones this time around.
"I challenge the gym leader!" she announced, practically kicking the door down in her enthousiasm.
Ugh. She'd waited far too long for this gym. Seriously needing to press on to the Pokémon League and to train for it, she wanted to make this battle quick and explosive. She wouldn't be foolish of course, but she didn't plan on using slow tactics like she had in her last battle.

Mark entered the arena, muscles glistening from his recent workout. The fangirls were scraming and raving, but a simply gesture made them all shut up. "So, another one that wants to challenge me? Well let's get started!" The gym leader threw two pokeballs out, letting Tro and Loco out. The two grass pokemon looked just as strong as their trainer...

"Yes, that's right!" she claimed confidently, rubbing her nose, "Let's see what you got - Naga, Jupiter, GO!" Releasing two Pokéballs into the air, her combattants revealed themselves before the leader. One a Seviper, equally matched with it's foes, and the other, a higher-leveled Aerodactyl. Ready to fight, they both released war cries.
Jupiter had a determined look on his face. He looked more stubborn than anything, and a little reckless if one remarked that certain twinkle in his eyes. He wasn't afraid of anything! Naga, on the other hand, seemed annoyingly cocky as per usual. Hissing, he grinned wildly and maliciously, flickering his tongue.

"Let's start then!" Cries from the fangirls watching picked up again. "Loco, Growl! Trop, let's start with a Razor leaf!" The larger pokemon shook the leaves on its back and little blades shot out, aiming at the Seviper. Meanwhile, Loco was growling in a very cute way, trying to get its foes to possibly attack with less strenght.

"Perfect. Naga, use flamethrower! Extinguish that attack and burn Tropius. Jupiter, take to the skies and use a wing attack on Ludicolo! Make it quick and stop that growl!" Her orders had to be dynamic and precise. She had a perfect team, but she had to be careful regardless of that fact.
Naga shot forward and used a merciless flamethrower, reducing the leaves shot at him to nothingness. Continuing the stream of fire as he jetted forth, he aimed to remove Tropius from this battle as quickly as possible. Jupiter had risen up, but only to dive down, using a wing attack to try and stop Ludicolo from lowering attack. There was a chance that Jupiter's ancient power could nullify that, but he only had a few opportunities to even use that particular move.

The Tropius was surprised to see her attack getting burnedd like that, but before the Flamethrower could hit, she used gust, blowing the flames away. SHe continued to flap her leafy wings, planning to blow her foe away. Loco had her attack unterrupted and she seemed rather pissed at that. "Colo!!!" The wing attack hurt, but she quickly used a fury swipes, swinging her arms at the fossil pokemon. "That's it! Don't stop the gusts! Loco, prepare for a Nature Power!"

"Alright...switch!" Chase instructed, crossing her arms to signal her Pokémon. "Naga, use poison tail on Ludicolo! Jupiter, let's see a powerful rock slide! Take Tropius out of the skies!"
The Pokémon crossed over promptly, Naga shooting for Ludicolo now as it barely avoided Tropius' flying attack. Caught a bit in the wind, Jupiter was held back a little, but managed to strike with rock slide from a slight distance.
Smiling proudly, Chase was confident in her new strategy. These Pokémon were pretty unfamiliar with one another, but that didn't mean their attacks couldn't combine together perfectly.

"Tro, Loco, do your thing!" Both pokemon seemed to flash, before dissapearing, the attacks missing them completely. The two pokemon, surprisingly fast, reappeared a the other end of the gym. While Loco started to use absorb on the flying pokemon, Tro used a powerul gust, trying to prevent the pokemon from approaching them. Mark smirked. This was going to be fun...

"Now's a good time..." Chase whispered to herself, "Alright! Jupiter, use ancient power on Tropius; take that absorb but make this hit count! Naga, use earthquake on Ludicolo; knock it down!"
Re-energized, Jupiter shrieked loudly before summoning immense boulders from the ground. Hurling them upwards at Tropius, the attack was likely to hit explosively. Naga on the other hand, kept his distance so that he would not be affected by gust and performed a nice earthquake attack. It was meant merely for opportunity, not so much the damage.

The Tropius took the Ancientpower attack harshly, bringing it to its leafy knees. The Ludicolo took the Earthquake as well, but it did less damage because it almost missed, as the Ludicolo was dancing around, preparing for his next attack.
"Ludicolo, Rain Dance! Tropius, Razor Leaf both of them!" shouted Mark, flexing his muscles.

'The strategy is weak, but I best take care of Ludicolo before it has a chance to use nature power' Chase thought to herself, seeing straight through the gym leader's plan. Too bad she hadn't equipped Sunny Day to any of her Pokémon. The only one she had to worry about now was Jupiter and his level was significantly higher than any of them. Now was the time to end this quick.
"Naga, attack Ludicolo with wrap! Hold it down!" Chase directed quickly, "Jupiter, use your best wing attack, don't allow it the chance to use nature power!" Naga did as he was told and circled the foe before trying a wrap attack. Jupiter shot down, falling even heavier upon his foe than he would have before in the rain. Wings extended, the attack was really meant to finish. If it didn't work, Chase would have to regroup, but she was confident that things would swing her way.

"Loco! Dodge those attacks again!" Just like the first time, the pokemon seemed to dissapear, before reapearing further away. These poekmon had obviouslty been well trained, especially in speed. Rain started to fall, but not as heavily as the leader would have hoped for. "Loco, Nature Power! Tro, Stomp that snake!" The two pokemon in question used their attacks, the tropius running over to Naga.

OOC: Uuugh, first message got erased e____e;
"Seviper!" Naga cried, 'Damn you!' Crushed by the immense weight of Tropius, Naga felt his body flatten against the ground. Struggling wildly, he wriggled like a worm beneath the talons of a bird. He was prey now..unless Chase gave the right orders.
"Naga!" she cried quickly, having a sudden idea, "Use poison tail! Drive your tail blade into Tropius' leg! Poison it!" Chase directed, waving her finger. Obeying quickly before Tropius had a chance to retaliate, he drove his tail at his opponent.
Jupiter, on the other hand, was in quite a different situation. Weighed down by water, his dropping attacks increased in power, but his speed was significantly depleated from it's normal standpoint. Screeching, he flew up higher, hussling to dodge the attack.
"Jupiter, rock slide! Try to knock off Ludicolo!" Chase cried, "Stay high!" Flitting up to the ceiling, a stream of rocks fired from the Aerodactyl's mouth. The attack wouldn't likely be effective, but it was just to regroup. He'd have to fight back with a flying move soon...

"Damn," The gym leader growled, rubbing his forehead with his strangely muscular hand. The girls cooed. "Tro, use Stomp again on the snake, and do it extra sexy!" The girls screamed again, some throwing roses. Mark kept a straight face. "You too, Ludicolo! use nature power again, smooth!!"
After being badly poisoned and stabbed by an unforgiving tail, the Tropius seemed almost fainted. However, it wasn't finished yet. It got up angrily and raised its foot high, then mashed it downward.
The Ludicolo was pummeled by the rocks, gaining a few cuts and bruises from the attack. It growled and used nature power on the Aerodactyl again, clapping after a hopefully successful attack.

"Naga, brace yourself" Chase cautioned, "Make sure that attack falls somewhere near the end of your tail, but give your blade some lee-way"
Nodding, the Pokémon understood. He knew what he had to do; he had to take this hit to get rid of Tropius once and for all. Being smashed a second time, he cringed, but didn't act so surprised. He'd managed to do as he was told, but he cut it a bit close to the tail blade, making it hard to use at that point. Luckily, however, Chase had a different plan.
"Naga, rear up! FLAMETHROWER!" she ordered loudly and enthousiastically, feeling more motivated by that god damn crowd to kick this guy's ass.
Still in pain, Naga's will was still undying. Pulling back, he extended his full neck so that his aim was almost perfectly precise. Opening his mouth, he fired a gigantic flamethrower from his throat. If this wasn't his last move, a few more stomps would do him in, seeing how he had to legs to keep him mobile after being stomped on so many times.
Meanwhile, Jupiter had problems of his own. Though he tried to remain high, he got unlucky and was hit by nature power. Perhaps it wasn't as powerful as it would have been if it was up close, but it still did some damage. He looked at Chase, giving her the weird eye.
"If you insist..." she muttered, rubbing her nose, "Jupiter, wing attack!
Wings glowing, the Aerodactyl dived at his foe like a kamikaze. He shot down at an amazing speed, eyes locked on target. If Ludicolo retaliated; damn, it would hurt - but now was the time to really turn things up. He'd make sure his foe was either fainted or hurting too.

"Tropius, blow it off with a gust." Ordered the Gym Leader, trying to show off even more as the crowd cheered wildly.
Tro used a gust, but the wind just made the flames stronger. The flamethrower spread around the arena, creating a flaming field effect that would damage all poke'mon that aren't fire type.
The Tropius was still hit by the majority of the Flamethrower, though, and retreated onto the ground uncouncious.
"Loco, Fake him out with Fakeout!" Ordered the gym Leader, which caused the Idiotic Crowd to cheer louder. Idiots.
The Ludicolo tried to parry around Aerodactyl. She jumped to the side as if dancing, but the wind still scratched along her back as he wheeled around. Allthough she was hit by the Wing attack and hurt by quite a bit, she was still able to Retaliate with Fakeout.

As the flames erupted, Chase sneered. A little damaged or not, Naga and Jupiter had this fight. It would be over ever-so-soon. "Naga, use earthquake!" Chase ordered before turning to Jupiter, "Jupiter, ancient power!"
Bringing in her stronger attacks, she really wanted to finish that damn Ludicolo. Unfortunately for Jupiter, he was hit by fake out and flinched. Wincing, he released a slightly less effective attack, having been thrown off a little. Naga dodged the seering flames as much as possible and delivered a powerful earthquake attack, aimed at throwing Ludicolo down so that Jupiter could finish it off.

Loco was thrown to the ground by Earthquake, but still just managed to avoid Ancient Power. She starting to get weak, it would take long to finsih her off.
This isn't going very well any more. Mark thought.
"Loco, get up, and use Fury Swipes on the Seviper, quickly, it'll be easier if we can get rid of one of them!" He instructed.
Loco got up feeling slightly dizzy, and attacked the Seviper viciously.

"Naga, dark pulse! Jupiter, dive and use wing attack!" Chase exclaimed, convinced that she'd soon taste victory.
Naga charged ahead. Speeding at Loco, he sent a dark blob of energy at Loco, but at the same time he found that he'd ran straight into his foe. Being ripped here and there, he shrieked loudly. It had obviously been a critical hit. Falling back after his attack, he slumped over a little, breathing hard. That wasn't good...
Watching his team mate take a hit, Jupiter surged forward and attack from the side with his glowing wings. Still weighed down by water, he felt himself continuing to slow down. He'd have to be careful or he'd plummet and hurt himself. Breathing in, he tried to keep himself up high enough for some distance.

Luco was hit by both attacks. She slumped to the ground unconcious, a few metres away from the Seviper.
Mark walked up to the trainer. "You just got lucky kid!" He said coldly. "Here have the badge." He thrust the badge at Chase, and stomped away.
Both pokemon gain one level.
