Glumly, Syl listened to Saki and Jay chat, pretending to be interested. Every so often he made a rude comment, snickering to himself at the threatening glances Jay shot at him. Snickering again, he contented himself to watching the snoozing Nero's chest rise and fall with each breath. Rise. And fall. Rise. And fall.
Mind wandered to thoughts of his travels, images of Jaymie, Lhena and Mizuumi flashed through his mind. He sighed. What was he doing? Golden-eyes glassed over as he became lost in his thoughts.
What is this feeling... Still more images of the girls came, jumbled up with memories of home and what he remembered of his mother. These people... Could they be.. Friends? He snorted. Absurd. Friends were a virtue of the weak and needy. Strong people like him didn't need friends.
Still-glassed over eyes shifted to Jaymie. He watched the way she smiled when she talked to the professor, and realized that she was almost always smiling.
Thoughts drifted to Lhena. She looked so sad... Reminded a bit of himself, maybe that's why he felt drawn to her.
They're so different. He smiled inwardly. Comparing the two women wasn't fair, so he chose not to think of it anymore. Shaking his head to dismiss his thoughts, he glanced across the room at Lhena.

Lhena withdrew into the security of her subconcious, sorrow vaccuuming what was left of the optimistic "Sylver Lining" left over from prior encounter. Unconcious survey from across the room was mutual, stolen glances taken on the sly - exchanged from man to woman, from woman to man.
Lass couldn't help but find many similarities between them in personality and physique alike... that was what drew her towards him, and vice-versa it appeared. Finally - something seemed to click within the solitude and solemn reverie, and Lhena stood up and strode over to the adjacent group.
One small step across the cafe, on giant step for Lhena!

The dark-haired girl smiled at the newcomer. "Welcome!" Jaymie waved, voice snapping Syl out of his thoughts.
He blinked when he saw her, lips curving into a smile so tiny it almost went un-noticed. "Yeah.." He said, leaning back in his chair.
"A... Kirlia?" Emerald eyes stared intently at the false-psychic type. Jay blinked. "That's an odd looking Kirlia..." Scratching her head, it was apparent she was confused.
"That's not an Kirlia you idiot." Sylver snapped flatly.

Lhena apparently was more watchful then most, because minute smile was honed in on and returned with one just as equally untraceable and secretive. Meimu flung arms into the air, and did a cartwheel over the expanse of table - landing before Sylver. Gloved paw patted his own hand in grateful acceptance of Jaymie's confusion before Kirly Meowth scrambled over to inquiring lass.
"Meeeeeowthy-Kir!" Feline pokemon explained to incognito disguise

Brushing a ruby lock from his face, he gave Meimu an affectionate smile. Gaze then shifted to the still-standing Lhena. Motioning towards an open chair, his harsh glare from yelling at Jay softened a bit. "You can sit you know. If you keep standing, people will think you're a robber." Eyes resumed watching the Cyndaquill snooze.
Jay giggled at the Meowth's antics. "So you're a Meowth! I see..." She smiled warmly at Meimu, giving her one of Nero's cookies. "You love to play dress up! I played dress up too, when I was a child." She sighed, remembering with a smile.

Lhena smirked deviously, and looked about as if she was inspected just WHAT to steal. Shrug of forfeit was offered along with another smile-on-the-sly as lass pulled up a chair. The rest of the team, with the acception of Meimu and Dinero had seemingly lost interest in the happenings of newly formed group and were then-after returned to the comfort of their pokeballs.
Meimu? She was a different case! Flourishing with the undivided and rare attentions of other people besides her own, illuminating and broad, beaming grin was cast towards both Sylver and Jaymie. Lhena chuckled and watched as Meimu continued to converse happily with Jaymie.
"Meimu meeeooowth dress up! meeeooowth play pretend!" Evidently the caffeine from her prior cup of tea was taking affect.
Tomcat Meowth seemed pleased that he could now have all of trainer's attentions, caring not for Kirly Meowth's 15 minutes of fame. She liked the limelight attentions of others, not he. Nestling himself contentedly in the lap of mistress, Dinero watched the others with placid gaze.

The crimson-haired man glanced at Dinero, remembering how he had fathered Akki. With a small smile, he pulled out the meowth-kitten's pokeball and let her out for some air. Sparkles flew everywhere as the kitten pawed at Lhena's leg, meowing at her father.
Attention shifting from pretend-kirlia for a moment, Jaymie blinked at her friend. "When did you get that?"
He shrugged a shoulder, answering her questioning tone with a sigh. "I've been around. It's how I met Lhena, actually." With a smirk, he added. "I'm not always right behind you, you know. I have a life of my own."
She glared sharply, choosing to ignore him and focus her attention on Meimu again. "Boys are dumb." She told the Meowth, handing her another cookie.

Lhena, currently the scratching post for desperate Akki, grinned at sight of familiar kitten and allowed tomcat to leap jovially from perch upon lap. Dinero mreowed fervently as tyke was drawn into a comical feline embrace. Instantaniously, it seemed - all harsh feelings of Sylver fell by the wayside.
"Guess you're not THAT bad..." Dinero commented placidly. His trainer smirked, seemingly seconding that opinion. Lhena smiled and stroked both father and daughter Meowth, pleased with how well Akki had grown. "She's doing well - I'm impressed"
Meimu on the other hand, seemed solely devoted to winning every fiber of Jaymie's liking. If she thought that boys were dumb, so did Kirly Meowth. "Meeeooowth-Kir!"

The father-meowths approval apparently meant a great deal to Syl, as he smiled at Dinero, bowing his head slightly.
Jaymie smiled at Meimu, pulling off one of her purple gloves and passing it to the pokemon. "Now we each have one," she winked, broad grin showing off several teeth. "Super-secret dress up club forever!"
Her companion sighed at the pair, sweatdropping. "Women..." Glancing nervously at Lhena, he corrected himself. "...MOST women."

Lhena smiled, delighted that truce had been set between Dinero and Sylver. This would be good for all of them - and now Akki could have her father. Also, this meant an alterior motive for lass... Father and daughter Meowth now together, it could be used as innocent excuse for seeing Sylver. Upgrading to a humored grin towards badboy's comment, Lhena shook her head in empathetic forgiveness.
Jaymie, having given Meimu one of her gloves, had sealed a friendship for life. Kirly Meowth launched self at lass. "Meeeooowth-Kir!" <33333333333333333333333333333333333

"Awww! Aren't you just the most adorable thing ever!" Jay's waiting arms enveloped the enthusiastic pokemon in a hug.
Syl couldn't help but smile fondly at the pair; girl and pokemon embracing one another was such a tender, pure moment. Hand instinctively darting out to pat Akki affectionately, he continued to watch and think, all the while feeling Lhena smiling at him. Golden eyes closed lazily, allowing himself to truly enjoy the moment with his two friends, one old and one new.
On the table, Nero was awakened with a jolt. The Cyndaquill blinked at the newcomers, gaze shifting to Jay...
"QUILL!" His back erupted into flames, glaring dangerously at the offending Meowth. Nobody hugged his trainer but him!
Sweatdropping, Jaymie scooped him up with one arm and invited him into the hug as well.
"That is one scary pokemon..." Syl said softly.

Soft, museful gaze never faultered from Sylver - as if Lhena was afraid she might miss something that may give further insight into the mystery of prized new friend. Dinero, seemingly infected with the love bug gave on last nuzzle to beloved daughter, Akki and lept once more into his mistress' lap... curling up contentedly with a resounding purr.
Meimu, startled at such a hostile retribuke for her own affections, reliquished Jaymie's hug and collapsed onto the table with a small thud. Bewildered at such jealousy - Kirly Meowth offered a hesitant welcome as if to smooth over such instinctive fright. "Mreeeeow-Kir"
Lhena raised a hand to her mouth, stiffling a laugh at Meimu's reaction to Nero's envy. Eyeballing the group trainer gave a slight nod in accord to Sylver's comment.

Sylver yawned, watching Jay's pokemon with mild amusement. He reached down to pet Akki behind the ears, and smiled a bit when she began to pur and curl up at his feet.
Friends... Warm feeling began rising from his stomach, and no matter how much he fought it, a gentle wave of happiness swept over him. Friends... ... are for the weak... Alarmed and pale, he stood rigidly, collected Akki in his arms and ran out the door without another word to either girl.
Emerald eyes shone with sadness at his departure, Jay let go of Nero and smiled helplessly at Lhena. "He.. does that a lot..." She sighed, alternating between petting both Nero and Meimu. "I don't know why..."

Meimu cuddled Jaymie's purple glove defensively, before scurrying back over to Lhena - allowing Nero the total affection so willed. Plopping herself into trainer's lap beside Dinero, Kirly Meowth was welcomed by a loving scratch to whiskers. Attentions diverted from pokemon as Sylver ubruptly stood and made a run for it.
Lhena was dumbfounded, to say the least. Museful gaze was cast towards Jaymie for explaination, which she justly recieved. Lass sighed, gathered up pair of felines in her arms and ushered her team out the door after fleeing companion. Fortunately, Lhena would not make the same mistake as Sylver, and new friend Jaymie was given a proper good-bye. "I don't know either... but I'll find out. Take care Jaymie, and thank you" Meimu waved good-bye aswell. Darting off after retreating badboy, Lhena called ahead. "Sylver! Sylver, what the hell? Wait up!"

Jaymie nodded, locks of black hair masking the dissapointment on her face. "I hope you can get him to talk. He never tells me anything." She laughed bitterly, running pale hands through Nero's short fur.
Friends are for the weak... Friends are for the weak... Over and over Sylver's brain screamed at him. Silver-meowth kitten still clutched in his arm, he sighed. He heard Lhena's voice behind him, calling for him, prompting him to increase his pace. He fled, without direction or destination. Clinging tightly to his ideals and Akki, he dissappeared into the dense forest.

Lhena slowed and cursed aloud as Sylver's sillohuette disappeared from view. Crumpling into a knelt heap, Dinero and Meimu were relinquished from craddled embrace. Nueve and Obsequio tended to their defeated trainer, while Kirly Meowth looked to Fathering Meowth for aid.
Dinero sighed, patting feline companion reassuringly on the head before trekking off into the woods - nose the best suited to track, especially seeing as sire could find daughter... and finding Akki meant finding Sylver. Maybe he could find out something.

Slumped against a tree, Sylver panted heavily, frantically trying to catch his breath. His gaze shifted to the meowth-kitten who was eyeing him curiously on his lap. "Akki... I think... I think I'm going... to die..." He managed to choke out between gasps for air.
He grimaced as the kitten mewed at him, batting at his hair playfully. "Not... not you too..." He tried to snicker.

Dinero, still in tracker mode, etched lines into the dirt with his blunt claws - leaving a road map back if he needed to find Lhena in a hurry. Then? Voices! One that sounded as if lungs were gonna collapse at any moment, and then a mew father could identify anywhere. Sylver and Akki! Racing ahead, Meowth tomcat hid behind the same tree red-haired lad was propped up against and waited for either acknoledgement or eavesdropping to come into play.

Finally catching his breath, the man's thoughts drifted to earlier, and he sighed. Akki still batting at his hair, he stroked her lovingly on the head. "Things are just all messed up," He told the kitten, "It's not that I'm a total shut-in, I just.." He hesitated, fumbling with the words. "Er... When I was little, people would pretend to be my friend in order to get stuff from my uncle." Smirking at the memory, golden eyes squeezed tightly shut. "He was rich you know. And now.. Now that I've won the lottery.." He trailed off, unwilling to finish the sentence.
From her perch on his lap, Akki lent a sympathetic glance to the man.

Dinero scoffed from behind the tree, infuriated that Sylver could dream up such a foul scheme Lhena or Jaymie for that matter, unfortunately - such an outburst would cost him his sly spying. Emerging, seeing as cover was already blown, Meowth addressed Akki's trainer scornfully. "What you can not get past is preventing you from something worth more than anything money could buy. Those two girls are truly happy in your presence. I haven't seen Lhena smile like that in who knows how long! Now get your act together and stop feeling sorry for youself! What is really weak is not HAVING friends, but REFUSING them" Preaching over and done with, tomcat awaiting either scorn or revelation from red-haired man.
