Jay sipped her coffee. Beside her, Nero nibbled slowly on a crisp chocolate chip cookie. The girl's eyes lay on the scenery outside. She watched the goldeen and magikarp splash about in the crystal-clear water with mild amusement. The tall trees lining the lake were home to many mankey, and the occassional aipom poked it's head out of the thick vegitation. She took another sip out of the heavy white mug.
"This is the life, isn't it Nero?" A hand ruffled his soft fur, and her face relaxed into a smile. He looked up from his cookie and gave her a curt nod. She giggled at the little Cyndaquill. "I just wish I wasn't so..." she sighed, dreading the words. "alone..."

It was a quiet day in the cafe`. Chairs were turned onto their tables, occasional busboys and girls would come and clean them off. The casheer sat at the counter counting his profits.
Sakura stared at the lake. "A perfect area for a cafe," she spoke to herself. A pidgey flew to see if she had food, but once discovering she was empty flew away. "Aipom, mankey." She smiled, tightening the grip in her backpack straps, and turned to the door. The bell above the door chimed peacefully. It was a nice sound.
It was then, Saki realized she was holding Teddy. Her Teddiursa had been silent the whole time, most likely sharing the same thought his trainer was. "It's empty." she to her pokemon. She missed her absol, Seishin. He would have loved to come here. But he was pre-occupied lately. Saki looked at the far end of the cafe, and noticed another being before her. She smiled politely, for if the girl noticed she was staring, Saki must be polite. She walked over.

Jay blinked at the girl. She scooped the still-eating Cyndaquill into her arms, afraid of how he might react, and quickly ran a hand through her tangled mane. She opened her mouth to speak, but wasn't quite sure how to begin.
"It's... quiet." She studdered awkwardly. Noticing the newcomer, Nero's eyes narrowed as he wriggled out of Jay's grasp and up to his trainer's shoulder. Jaymie laughed. As annoying as he was, he was a great icebreaker. "He's quite a little firecracker.." She ruffled his fur affectionately. Then she noticed the Teddiursa clasped tightly in the other girl's arms. "What kind of pokemon is that? It's adorable..."

Sakura nodded at the quiet remark. "A sense of peace, sort of." She added. She giggled at the girl's pokemon, causing Teddy to bounce a bit. He smiled, enjoying the 'ride'.
"Oh, this is a teddiursa!" She said pointing to the creature in her arms. "His name's Teddy. A bit of a handful, literally." She adjusted her arms to carry the weight of the pokemon. "Speaking of names, I'm Sakura!" She nodded, adding a little wave. "And what about your pokemon?" She widened her eyes a bit at her rudeness, "And yourself, of course!" She added quickly. She was always interested in meeting new people.

Jay's face relaxed into a smile. "This is Nero," she guestured towards the wary Cyndaquil on her shoulder. "He's a brat. And I'm Jaymie." She paused when Nero jumped from her shoulder onto the table. "But most people just call me Jay. And don't mind Ner, he doesn't like strangers. ... or anybody, for that matter." She laughed.
Nero only glared at his trainer. He rambled around the table, sticking his nose into the cup of coffee Jay had left sitting on the table. Quickly recoiling from the hot liquid, he fell flat on his back on the smooth surface of the table. He glanced at Saki with his big green eyes, and made a face.

Sakura giggled. "Call me Saki." She placed Teddy on the table, who was wiggling to get free from her grasp. Her stood up on two legs and was about the same height as Nero. He sniffed Nero and sneezed, causing him to fall backwards.
"Hm, he's a bit curious. May I sit?" She asked, pulling out the chair.

The trainer smiled. "Sure thing!" Shooing Nero away from her coffee once more, she took another sip. "So Saki, tell me. What brings you to these parts?"
Nero poked at Teddy, carefully. He glanced from trainer to pokemon over and over again, and seeing that neither were leaving, scampered back onto Jay's shoulder. He buried himself in her dark tresses, only peeking out now and then to see if the coast was clear.
"He's such a fraidy cat... I hope YOUR pokemon aren't as cowardly as Nero here..." She giggled at her pokemon, and then yelped when he yanked on a piece of her hair.

Sakura was about to answer the question, but Nero was somewhat a distraction. She smiled and nodded. "Oh, every trianer's got one." she pointed to her pouch which contained many pokeballs. she took the seat.
"My sunflora in fact. My first pokemon too." She smiled, adjusting to fit her comfort. She proded Teddy forth, to get out of the way of the sight of her new friend. "Anyway, I'm the professor." She blushed, it was still new to call herself that, though it's been about a year. "And yourself?" She fiddled with a sugar packet, which she did often, was fiddle, when she was a bit shy.
A waitress nearby noticed the new customer and approached. "Anything for you dear?" She asked.
"Erm." She looked at Teddy who babbled some poke gibberish. "Yes. Some lake marshes and two ponds on the side." She said foolishly.
"One chocolate marshmallow bowl with two hot chocolates comin' up." The waitress said and walked away. Saki turned back to Jay and smiled. "Heh, anywhos."

Jay stared at the girl incredulously. "The professor? Wow! That's amazing." She winced as Nero yanked on another piece of her hair. "And me.. Well I'm just here to relax." The dark-haired girl motioned towards her nearly empty cup of cofee. She chuckled. "That's my third one today. Nero tells me I need to go to rehab for my addiction. Cocky little pokemon, he is.."

Sakura laughed. "I don't think I've ever tried coffee." She said quietly. "Must be good if that was your third!" She said as the waitress gave Saki her order. Teddy dove into the mountain of choco marshmallows, and came out with hi mouth full of them. "Eh! Teddy!" She grabbed a napkin and wiped the chocolate from his paws, which he didn't seem to care, for he was munching away.
"It's tradition we get these..." She sighed sweatdropping. "Uuh..more napkins please!" She called out. "Anyway, do you have a certain type of pokemon you look for, or not?" She motioned towards Nero. "Perhaps fire?"

Jay giggled at the chocolate-covered pokemon. "Uh, I don't really have a type." She blinked. "Although I DO seem to have quite a few normaly types... Skitty, Meowth, Pidgey, Eevee... And ALL of my pokemon are cute ones." She grinned. "Except for Nero of course."
Having climbed down from his hiding-spot in her hair, Nero was sitting in front of her on the table. The Cyndaquill shot her a dirty look.
"I'm just kidding, dearest." She ruffled the fur on his back affectionately. "But yes... I suppose I'm a..." she grimaced. "Cute pokemon trainer."

"I suppose you are," came a gruff voice to the side. The ebony-haired trainer leapt up from where she sat to tackle-hug the intruder.
"Syyyylver!" She snickered at the crimson-haired man, who was becoming angrier and angrier every second she kept hugging him. Sensing she was about to get an earful of obscenities, she quickly let go of the angry man, and returned to her seat.
Nero blinked, and began to growl at the newcomer. He smirked at the little pokemon. "You again?" His gaze shifted to Jaymie. "When are you going to start keeping that little rat in it's pokeball?"
She girl looked miffed. "When you start speaking nicely to people." She spat. "Or when hell freezes over, whichever comes first." Then she remembered Saki, and sweatdropped. "Oh, I'm sorry Sakura... this is my er, FRIEND," she snickered, earning her a threatening glare from Sylver. "Sylver. He's a pokemon artist, and a wannabe pokemon trainer. But I beat him everytime."
"Yeah, because you cheat," The red-haired man said cooly. Giggling, Jay tossed what was left of Nero's cookie at him.

Suddenly Jay's stomach rumbled. Embarassed, she made a face. "I think I'd better get something to eat..." Her gaze shifted to Nero. "You stay here with Syl and Saki. I'll be right back."
"Cynda!" The Cyndaquill looked frantic; he did NOT want to be left alone with the red-haired man.
Sylver glanced curiously at Nero, quirking an eyebrow at the Cyndaquill's frustrated expression. He was met with a glare from the mouse-like pokemon.
"You have nothing to worry about, Nero," He whispered to the pokemon, with a half-smile. "I'll just be watching from the sidelines, nothing major." Syl shrugged a shoulder and glanced at Jaymie, standing at the counter waiting for her food. He laughed inwardly at her.
He then turned to Saki, and bowed slightly. "You must forgive my actions, Sakura." His tone wasn't as harsh as usual. He hesitated. "I'm only here to make sure the ditz you just met doesn't meet with an untimely doom." He snickered to himself, earning another glare from Nero.

What a perfect little hole-in-the-wall cafe...
Subconcious purred inside the confines of braincage, mental voices arguing amongst themselves as Lhena and the rest of Team Nocturne entered the Cafe de Cheyenne.
Trainer first - the rest came in tow, in pairs. Dinero with Meimu (remaining in favorite attire as a Kirlia), Obsequio with Diabla mounted upon back and Nueve leading with Lhena.
Porcelin skinned lady strode over to a corner booth and ushered thrice team of pokemon in before her. Tending waiter or waitress was beckoned over and given orders.
For Obsequio? One overly large blueberry muffin For Diabla? A steaming cup of hot cocoa For Dinero? Two chocolate chip cookies, one for each paw For Meimu? A cup of tea to sip and play pretend with For Nueve? Same as Lhena... a latte with extra whipped cream

Noticing some commotion, Syl's eyes darted across the room before finally coming to rest on Lhena and her pokemon. "Excuse me, I have something I need to do," He muttered a quick goodbye to Sakura, and walked quietly over to Lhena. Quick as a flash, he'd seated himself across from her and smirked at the girl.
"We meet again, it seems." He closed his eyes, resting his hands behind his head and leaning back in the booth.

Lhena seemed thoroughly surprised at Sylver's abrupt appearance, and even more startled at the butterflies that errupted within stomach. Fortunately - she hid it well. Illustrious smile dominated thin, pursed lips. Dinero glared death at trainer whom had previously bought one of his prodigy, while Meimu seemed thrilled and lifted her saucer of tea in a comical toast. The rest? They watched on... curious and inquisitive.
"If I wasn't so keen on your better character, I'd say you were stalking me" secret compliment was tucked in sarcasm, smirk swallowing prior expression. "So - to what do I owe this... intriguing encounter? Checking up on me to make sure I'm not ready to skin Meimu alive? Making sure I'm up to the challenge of raising a Meowth who's content being incognito? Or didja just want the chance to drive Dinero mad with a second encounter for his daughter's buyer?"

He smirked at the girl, giving Meimu a little wink. "All of the above, it seems." His golden-gaze shifted, to the mug of coffee topped by a mountain of whipped cream in her hand. "Fantastic choice," He spoke softly, moreso than normal. "I had something like that earlier, only without as much whipped cream." Brushing a crimson-lock of hair away from his face, he added, "does anybody really NEED that much whipped cream? That's insane.." He snickered softly.
"Syyyyyl!" A frantic dark-haired woman grabbed his arm out from behind his head. Grudgingly, he sat normally. "It's rude to leave people waiting." Jay scolded, motioning towards Saki and Nero. Nero was fast asleep on his back, belly rising and falling with each breath.
"Can't you see I'm in the middle of something?" He snapped, peeking at Lhena and her pokemon out of the corner of his eye.
The girl clearly wasn't amused. "Yes, but you were in the middle of something else," she hissed, tugging on his arm. Sighing, he glanced helplessly at Lhena.
"I'm afraid I have to leave now. But I am sure we will meet again. After all," he stood up, running a hand through his tangled ruby-hair. "I'm too handsome to miss in a crowd."
Jaymie sweatdropped. "Oh please, get over yourself." Blinking, she glanced at Lhena. "You're welcome to join us, it's just I don't want to leave a professor waiting for very long..." She continued to tug on his arm, until he finally gave in and followed her back to where Saki and Nero were sitting (and sleeping, respectively).

Lhena snickered - Meimu clamouring onto trainer's vacant lap in possessive, and attention hogging mannerisms. Illusionist took up playing with Tomcat, allowing girl to get back to her conversation with badboy-who-didn't-seem-so-bad.
Smile edged own responce, "Now see - you need to live a little. Next time, order a latte with extra whipped cream and THEN get back to me... It makes all the difference" Such simple conversation and yet it seemed that this was going somewhere, but just then Jaymie appeared to steal away Sylver for herself.
The temptation to pout was overwhelming, but lass resisted. Instead, apologetic smile was offered towards company-stealing girl before attentions returned once more to ruby-locked companion. "I'm sure we will... but then again, if this is what I'm doing to your ego... maybe I should stay away?" Teasing banter was pointed, but eyes belied it as tender fun.
Offer came thenafter, and Lhena looked at the rest of her team. Meowths shrugged, Obsequio looked intrigued, and Nueve? Placid and uninterested. Grateful but thought-bother expression dominated. "Thanks for the offer, I'll take a raincheck. We've got to get going soon anyways..." Meimu whined, wanting Lhena to go with Sylver (little cupid perhaps?)

The boy smiled a tiny smile at Lhena, allowing himself to be dragged back over to Saki. Finally, unable to stand anymore harassment, Syl yanked his arm away from the forceful woman. "Jesus Jay, I was trying to-"
She glared at the crimson-haired man, cutting him off. "I know exactly what you were doing." Tbe ebony-haired girl snapped, running a hand through the still-sleeping Nero's short fur affectionately. He gave a little snort before rolling onto his stomach, continuing to doze.
"I see," The corners of his mouth twisted upwards in a cruel smirk. Laughter shone through his golden eyes; mocking laughter, i-know-something-you-don't laughter. The man returned to his seat, eyes focused intently on sleeping Nero. With a sigh, Jay also sat, but her gaze never left Syl.
"You do realize how rudely you interrupted me," He snorted, breaking the silence. She shrugged.
"I asked her to join us," Jay muttered, giving a wayward glance to Llena and her pokemon.

Lhena remained cemented to corner booth, much to Meimu's dismay. Delicate fingertips ran through the shimmering expanse of Nueve's violet tinted forelock - affection recieved well by favored Ninetails. Muted sigh passed from lips, disappointment of losing Sylver subtle... seeing as lass never liked to give TOO much expressioned emotion away.
Nocturne pokemon accepted the fact that their trainer was not going to join the adjacent, invited group and returned to enjoying their treats. Dinero finished palmed cookies, whiskers catching lingering crumbs - Meimu indifferently draining the rest of her tea from saucer beside Meowth companion. Obsequio gobbled down the rest of mammoth blueberry muffin, tastebuds satisfied while keeping a watchful eye on Diabla who had long since drained steamy mug of cocoa.
That left the two whom had ordered lattes with mountainous dollops of whipped cream. Nueve had obviously done this before, seeing as puffy topping was vaccuumed into orifice with hardly a speck to flaw radiant facade. Lhena was far more tedious, laddling dairy biproduct with bendy straw until only the dregs were left to top the rest of coffee (all the while stealing glances at Sylver and the rest).
Cynical mind was at work... Woman now suspicious of just WHAT she was falling for. What was his gameplan? Subconcious worked scenarios curtosy of innocent paranoia within the confines of braincage.
