The girl took the steps up to the door two at a time. It had been a long journey, but she had finally arrived in the Cheyenne region by way of a boat. She had been a pokemon trainer for exactly two years now, but now she was starting over again. Her specialty was Ghost and Dark, and it had pleased her greatly to learn there was a ghost-type starter pokemon. She had been dreading that there'd be none, and she'd have to take her chances with the Patch of Tall Grass.
Shiori politely knocked on the door twice. She fidgeted slightly, unable to stand still. One of her favorite ghost types was Duskull, and she was about to receive one. She loved the fact that something that sounded so scary could be so gentle and loving if you treated it right. It was her way of looking at ghosts, and at the world. She wasn't a psychic, but many would find her obsession with spirits rather creepy. The truth was that Shiori's only and best friends had been the ghosts in her old house.
The dark-haired girl took a deep breath, settling down. Her bright violet eyes watched for every movement, as she was accustomed to. When the door opened, she'd be ready. Shiori wanted to spend as little time here as possible. Labs had never been her thing.

Within a matter of seconds the door quickly swung open. A tall young woman with a short, brown, bob, hair cut was standing in the doorway. She looked like she was in a rush as she held her clipboard close to her chest writing random things down on it.
Her glasses slid down her face as she looked at the new trainer. "I'm assuming you are hear for your first Pokemon am i right?" she quickly said, not letting the girl get a word in on this one way conversation. "Well come in come in, I don't have all day you know" she said quickly turning around and walking toward an area with shelves in the lab.
Following each an every one of the young womans foot steps was a Pudgy Delibird, that seemed to consider itself her assistant. "My name is Mrs. Pomfret, and I'm new to the lab, so you can imagine have quite a bit of work to do" she said digging through a cardboard box under the shelf she had approached.
She came back to a table that seemed to have a thousand papers on it and quickly swiped them all off onto the ground. She laid 15 pokeballs down on the table. "These are all of the Pokemon we had available." she said as she went through each one naming them quickly.
"Pick one and pick quick." she said as the Delibird was curiously staring at you.

The door swung open. Shiori didn't waste a moment in stepping inside. She raised a hand in greeting, but was cut off when the woman began speaking. The girl frowned to herself. Not very friendly or open. She decided to ignore it. But that was until she saw the fat Delibird waddling beside the woman. A smile replaced Shiori's momentary frown.
She bent over quickly, bringing herself down to the bird's height. "Hi." Just because Shiori prefered a type of pokemon over another, didn't mean she didn't like all pokemon. Her expression was warm, but she didn't want to waste time. She straightened up quickly, then turned around.
"Pick one and pick quick."
There was the pokeball labeled Duskull. Shiori walked over and placed her hand on it. "Please." She added. She removed her hand, afraid that the woman didn't want her touching it just yet. The girl's friendly smile did not fade, however, for she was anticipating the pokeball happily. What should I name it... Her mind trailed off.

The Delibird looked at the trainer in shock, well it was more of a look that said "you best be gettin outa my personal square or ima slap you". Yes, thats what it said. He ran behind Mrs. P's leg giving an evil stare toward the trainer. Shiori was right, she didn't want her touching the pokeball just yet. She quickly snatched the ball up and glanced at it. "So i see you want a Ghost Pokémon ey?" she said giving a smile, which was her first sign of emotion. She Tapped the ball, letting the Pokémon b be released. The Duskull rubbed its eyes curious to its surrounding. It moved toward the girl that looked like she was daydreaming. "Dusk Dusk?" it said interested in the trainer as it looked up at her. "Well it looks like that duskull likes you just fine so you might as well have it." she said pushing the rest of the pokeballs back into the box. She tossed the pokeball at Shiori and put a bundle of items on the table. "Here is what your gonna need to get started."
