Chloe hobbled toward the lab, leaning heavily on her cane, as she had been practically jogging away from her house. She kept looking over her shoulders, looking to see if someone was going to come bounding after her, tie her up, and drag her back to the Hell that was her home.
She stopped a few meters away from the Lab, then gave it a wide berth and headed toward the Patch of Tall Grass. She decided that she didn't really care what Pokemon she got, she just wanted to avoid detection at all costs. She was not going to come home until she had some badges under her belt!
Taking a deep breath to try to steady her rapid breathing, she leaned even more on her cane and looked around. She had thought there was supposed to be a Ranger or something here to catch her a Pokemon, but it hadn't looked like he was there at the time.
"Um, excuse me?" she called between breaths, wincing and lifting her left leg up a little bit so it wasn't taking anymore weight. She thought about sitting down for a few moments, but then thought that the Ranger would think poorly of her, so she merely put up with it. It wouldn't be too long until she had her very own Pokemon, no matter what it was that the Ranger caught.

The ranger's head shot up once he heard labored breathing and an anxious 'Um, excuse me?' ring throughout the plains of grass. He swiftly whistled, calling his Linoone to his side, before jogging over to the young lady. He smiled happily, passing over her cane with no problem. He had seen blind trainers come through here before. This young lady would do just fine.
"Hellooooo!" he hollared grandly, grinning happily as he approached the crippled girl. He was as excited as a little kid was to get some candy. He loved his job, handing out pokemon to trainers, watching the delight on their faces when they recieved their pokemon.
"I'm Andy! Ready to start your journey with your first pokemon?" he questioned, the Linoone winding around the girl's legs.

Chloe nodded her head shyly, feeling herself blush as the Ranger gave her an appraising glance. She was taken a little off-guard by the Ranger's boistorous responce, but she supposed that if someone really loved Pokemon, then this would be a great job.
She smiled down at the Linoone as it wound around her, and then she looked back up at the Ranger, setting her jaw so she seemed stronger than she felt. "Yes, I'd like my first Pokemon, please."
Shifting slightly so she was putting a bit more pressure on her leg to lessen the strain on her shoulder and wrist, she peered into the grass and tried to see what Pokemon was in there, and she wondered what Pokemon she would be graced to get.
Chloe still glanced around nervously, feeling as if her father was going to pop out of nowhere and drag her off.

{{ First pokemon that appeared! Pure luck... }} The blonde haired ranger, dipped his head to the girl, a wide smile still all over his face. He winked at the girl once, before speaking. "Well then! I'll be off and I shall return to you my fair madain. I'm sure you're excited to find out what your first Pokémon is. I know I was!" Readjusting his cap atop his mess of hair, he let out a fleeting smile. He then turned on his heel and trotted away, letting out a shrill whistle. The Linoone scampered out of some weeds, and darted past Chole before running past the ranger. His sleek fur was now ruffled ever so slightly with the excitment of the chase. Minutes passed, the suspense only building for the ranger. Finally, his Linoone let out a sharp bark and charged towards the sighted Pokémon. A quick battle, and the ping of a pokeball ensured capture. Andy trotted back, a sly smile on his face as he approached Chloe. "It's a nice Pokémon! Handy too, you could hitch a ride on it if you wanted too. It goes pretty fast!" he spoke cryptically, refusing to reveal what Pokémon it was. "You'll just have to find out later!" he added, before handing the bicolored sphere and the Starter Pack over. "Good luck on your journey!" he called, before scampering away. Congrats! Chloe took the Ball gratefully from the Ranger, smiling up at him. She was overjoyed that the Pokemon she had recieved could give her a ride, as the Ranger had put it, but she didn't really want to show that. She settled all of her other items into her backpack and waved at the Ranger as he bounded off.
"Thank you for doing this for me," she called politely after him before he had gotten out of earshot. She watched him go for a second, then looked at the Ball in her hands, wondering what it was. She called it out and a two-headed bird appeared in front of her.
"Doduo!" she gasped in awe. She had never expected that she would be this lucky! Smiling to herself, Chloe smiled up at her Pokemon and it shook its heads, blinking around. "Hi! I'm Chloe!" she introduced herself, walking toward the first route and her new life on the road.
[Moving on! ^^]
