It had finally started, and Cristen was pretty happy to say the least. She got her Pokemon...even though it was just a Natu. She yawned and started the path. She grabbed a ball out her hand, and pressed the button. "Come out, Apsaras."
She named her Natu Apsaras. Weird name, for a weird creature. It was based of a mythology. The Natu, when it came out the ball, just stared at her, and she stared at it. This went on for about three minutes before Cristen just gave up and started walking, the little bird pokemon hopping to catch up to her.
"So this is it huh?" She asked herself. She sighed, this was going to be a long journey, she knew it before, but she thought nothing of it. But now, that it's started, she knew she'd have to work hard. Although she knew she would, she hated working. ooc;fail.

Somewhere from the grasses to the side of the path came twirling leaves of sharpness, though hardly with enough force to inflict any serioud damage upon anyone it could ahve hit. A little grunt could be heard, and when the creature spotted the two, it peeped softly with happiness rather than fear, and bounced its way out into the open, only to fire a Mega Drain Attack at the Natu. It seemed to remain happy as it did so, for some odd reason.
::sunkern:: Wild Pokemon has attacked!

Thank God for Peripheral vision. If it wasn't for peripheral vision, Cristen would not have noticed Apsaras' abrupt stop. It took Cristen awhile before she actually noticed what had caused the abrupt stop, and when she did, her pokedex was out in a flash.
"Sunkern, a grass type pokemon. It lives by drinking only dewdrops from under the leaves of plants. It is said that it eats nothing else. "
Great. She had a psychic/flying type who could only do peck at the moment. She so wanted a fire type at the moment, if she had one it would have been a lot easier, but she soon shrugged the thought off and yelled. "Apsaras, Peck!"
Apsaras did what she commanded and aimed to peck the sunkern. The little natu hoped that it had actually hit the sunkern.

((Dang, my Mod post was deleted. D: Cruel world!))
Giving an annoying happy grin as the flying type was forced to do a Peck attack from the ground, the Sunkern couldn't help but feel relieved. Even birds were forced to share its fate to the ground.
Apsara's sharp Peck attack made its way right at its stomach area, and it let out a cry from the Super Effective attack. Forced backwards from the sudden bursts of pain, the Sunkern gave a teary look at the Natu, part of its smile removed. In hopes of gaining some power, the tiny seed Pokemon used a Growth, and visibly grew a few centimeters. Special Attack was raised, and it seemed eager to make some attacks on the Natu.

The sunkern hadn't attacked. It did do something, because she noticed the sudden, yet minor, growth of the sunkern. "Damn, what the hell is it planning?" She said. She contemplated on what to do, should she use peck again? Or should she try to weaken it.
"Apsaras, peck!" She yelled again. Most likely this would be a bad decision on her part, if it works....well let's just say Cristen would be relieved. But at this point, it didn't matter. Apsaras was already starting to attack. The little Natu tryed to concentrate on this attack.

What the Sunkern had learned form its previous efforts was to avoid that beak, that built in sword of doom. Giving its best brave face, the Sunkern tried to make a mighty jump to the side, but with the extra growth movement appeared to be limited. This time its side had taken the damage, and not its center.
It didn't hurt as much as the first time, which the Sunkern was relieved about. But now was the fun part. While the Natu was still close, it began to use some of the stored up energy by powering up for a Mega Drain. Its tiny leaves on the top of its head began to glow a green and gold hue, and an energy sucking attack was released.

She knew it was a bad idea. In fact, it was a horrible idea. Although it did gain a hit, it only took in a bit of damage due to the aim. Great, this was just utterly great. She tried to think about what to do at this point. Apsaras took in damage, and had it's energy drained.
This was seriously just freaking great. It got health back, simply wonderful. Then again, she was glad it was a grass type. If it was a different type of attack, well, that would have been worse. "Apsaras! Leer!" She commanded. Hopefully she would scare the poor, no not poor, annoying sunkern so much that it'd just loose it's guard.
She really was tired of this sunkern.

((Please make a PC for Cris. ^^ Makes it so much easier for the mods~ ))
The Sunkern gave a relieved sigh as some of its health was earned back, but it didn't seem to get as much as it usually did. Maybe it wasn't as effective on Natu's or something. Whatever the case may be, it found itself against a very tough opponent. It found itself less confident in making another attack, for even with the Growth boost it wasn't as strong as it used to be.
Not to mention the Leer attack, now it was really feeling pathetic. The smile that once remained on its face transformed into a frown as the two leaves on its head appeared to wilt. Trying to gain some extra power, the Sunkern repeated its power giving move from before. Growth made it appear even bigger, perhaps it was even taller than Asparas.

Crap, again, the sunkern had used growth. Cristen was seriously tired of this thing. Cristen thought about it. Should she do leer again, or should she attack? The many different outcomes popped in her head, once much worse than the other.
Damn, what a problem. She yelled, "Apsaras, peck!" And just stood to watch. Best case scenario, it would hit the sunkern, worst case, the sunkern would dodge. She hoped for the best case. ooc; sorry, this seriously sucks.

Best case scenario. Worst case scenario. Heads or tails. When the coin lands, everyone waits in dramatic suspense. Luck appeared to be on Cris's side, because when the Sunkern was even bigger it found that it was even harder to make a successful dodge. The dangerous Peck attack had managed to make the Sunkern stagger backwards with a face full of the pain that it felt.
The type disadvantage was really hurting it, but with all of the health that it had absorbed earlier, it was finding it easier to last longer in battle. It even knew it, and gave a sly smile over to the Natu, a weary expression on its face since it had yet to recover from the blow. <You think you can last long enough? When you have no health gaining techniques. > It gave a sinister little chuckle at Asperas, actually winking at the Natu before a familiar green energy was glowing on its two leaves. Not as vibrant as its past ones, because it decided to use Absorb this time. Was it mocking the Natu? Or was it losing its faith in itself? Who knew?
