Walking along the sun-soaked dirt path of the first route was the newly appointed Pokemon trainer, Aaron. Residing in his hand was a dual colored sphere which contained his very first Pokemon, Spheal. His eyes were fixated on the could-be ornament, envisioning his Pokemon, what it would be like and how would they react to one another. His thoughts dominated his mind, causing him to narrowly dodge the occasional short branch, or the recover reflexively from a protruding rock or oddly-placed hole.
After trekking for a minute or so, Aaron made an abrupt stop. The reason? He had an epiphany. For all this time he had wondered what it was like to have a Pokemon, and yet, here one was. It laid softly in the palm of his hand and he had yet to release the darned thing. He then gave the pokeball a gentle toss and watched it emit an illuminating red light that could barely be seen due to the overpowering sunlight. The ball had bounced back into his hand as if by some mysterious force, and from within the red light appeared a small blue creature.
<Spheal!> It called out, smiling widely at its trainer. Of course, seeing the light blue ball of Pokemon could only illicit a smile from Aaron as well, so he reached down to hug his new friend. The Spheal energetically hopped into its trainer's arms and called out once more.
"Hahaha, this seems to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship, eh?"

<Para, risu risu!!>
A little blue and white squirrel could be heard from a short distance away. It scurried around the trees, dodging rocks, nibbling on leaves and acorns. It was a simple life, but the squirrel ovbiously enjoyed itself. Soon the little blue critter found itself above a trainer. The branch extended a little low, within jumping range, but not many people would look up. The Parachirisu charged its cheeks, letting a little zapping sound out. This was to ward away the trainer and pokemon if they were scared.[/blockquote]

Completely oblivious to the perched electric type above him, Aaron simply set his Spheal back down onto the ground and started petting it. His Spheal however was wary of the angered Pachirisu, growling lowly at it. Spheal bore its fangs as a challenge to the electrified mouse, and still Aaron had no idea as to what was going on. Confusion was the only emotion expressed on his face and rightfully so. He retracted his hand, worried that he had offended his partner and asked, "What's the matter buddy?"
As if to respond to Aaron's question, Spheal took in a deep breath and released a howl of icy wind. Small bits of snow flew towards Pachirisu within the narrow realm of the frigid wind. The perplexed sixteen year old stumbled a bit at Spheal's response and fell flat on his back. It was then he realized what he had gotten into; the middle of a Pokemon battle. His mind had immediately switched into a more strategic state and he waited to see the effects of his little bodyguard's attack.

The Pachirisu's eyes narrowed as it saw the Spheal's aggressive stance, and made the untamed sparks even larger around its cheeks. Showing off a dangerous display of power, that it had yet to learn how to control.
Once the Spheal had sent out the Icy Wind, it knew that it had gotten into a Pokémon Battle. Its teeth were chattering quickly in a language unknown to man and Pokemon, clinging onto the branch as hard as it could. Alas, it couldn't last very long on the unstable branch, for it shook from the power of the wind. Ending up falling on its back, the Electric Pokémon got into a battle stance. Growling at the Spheal as a last second warning. It was a very forgiving and sparing type of Pokemon, always willing to give another chance.

Aaron watched as the Pachirisu fell to the ground and let out a fierce growl at Spheal. His knowledge of Pokemon battle extended so far as to what attacks they could possibly know, but his experience is very much lacking. Before he could belt out any type of command, his Spheal let out its own growl in return to the electric mouse's, and gave it a threatening stare.
Oh great... my first battle and my Pokemon is doing it all for me, Aaron thought to himself as he scuffled forward onto his feet. He quickly made his way to his partner's side and extended a finger towards the wild Pokemon. "Spheal quickly, use another Powder Snow on Pachirisu, just like before!" He called out, hoping that the electric type would sustain some type of damage. His main concern was that an electric attack would hit his Spheal and they could be in great trouble.
ooc; In my previous post, I meant Powder Snow not Icy Wind. That was my mistake. I forgot what ice attack my Spheal knew. My apologies. Oh, and I added the PC to my signature. =)

The ice attack was normal, and substaned some damage. The squirrel could not dodge as easy with it being snow, which dropped down all around it. The Parchirisu grimmaced at the icy coldness of the attack, but stood its ground. No way it was backing down now.
The critter let out one more growl before standing there, charging up, waiting for more attacks. It stood there in a position ready to brace anything. It was using bide.

Aaron admired the squirrel-like Pokemon's persistence, withstanding the attack and retort with another growl. Though now, he felt a stronger connection to his Spheal, but he knew that they were still far from being in complete sync, as well as from the end of the battle. Within his mind he had been contemplating on how he would beat the electric-type, but his mind was completely blank.
"Err... uh... use Powder Snow again!" He called out once more, hoping that Pachirisu would become colder and less agile due to the cold. Perhaps it would even prove to be even more useful than he expected. Either way, his Spheal let out another howl of cold wind with small balls of snow within its path.

The Parchirisu looked up from its iron stance and opened its eyes to see another rash blow of ice and snow debris flying towards it. It let out a small squeak, but maintained its hold. It felt itself being pushed back a little, and then thought it had stored enough energy.
The little critter looked up and opened its eyes. It relinquished its iron hold, and ran forward trying to ram at the Spheal with its stored energy. This would weaken it greatly if it was a direct hit, if not it would atleast injure the poor thing. The Parchirisu hoped it would hit, or it would have wasted its energy for it. 'All's well that ends well,' it thought in a taunting way.

Watching the poor Pachirisu having to withstand harsh attack after harsh attack was slightly difficult to see. Aaron had no idea that battles took such a toll on the participants or how brutal it could be. He knew that if he were to progress as a trainer, he would have to deal with these feelings. His eyes were now focused at the charging Pachirisu, unleashing the energy that it had conserved through its bide attack. His mind went into overdrive once more attempting to find the best strategic tactic in the situation.
His best efforts concluded that attacking wasn't the smarting thing, and the priority was getting Spheal out of danger. "Spheal, quickly while its still running! Water Gun to the ground!"
Spheal did so, readying a quick stream of water to the ground and sprayed point blank at the ground. However, just before the blast was release, Pachirisu managed to hit Spheal with almost all the force it could exert. The Water Gun then changed targets and went from the ground directly towards the close wild Pokemon.

The Parchirisu smiled at the hit. It blew the pokemon away! It was amazed at its own strength. Next it realized what the Spheal had been doing before it was knocked away. The Parchirisu slipped and slid all over the ground. It was mud! Soon the beautiful white fur of the pokemon was covered with brown guk. The critter spat mud out of its mouth, and then felt a rush of water.
The Spheal had used water gun, and was hurting the electric type squirrel slightly, but also cleaning it. The pokemon snickered, and used quick attack, catching up to the airborne Spheal, and trying to wack it with a thrust of its tail. ooc; Sorry, I wasn't sure if the hit knocked the Spheal off the ground or not @.@ I figured you said it was hard, so I thought airborne would be fine ;P

A sense of fear overcame Aaron. Not a fear of being defeated by the wild Pokemon, but his Spheal's wellbeing. The bide attack had come at it really fast and pretty hard, dazing the water-ice hybrid for a split moment after the first water gun had stopped. It was now in the air, falling seemingly slow, but descended at a pretty quick rate. The fall was the least of the duo's worries as Pachirisu was now heading in for another attack.
Realizing that this was just like the very first assault, he would be able to counterattack much faster and with more proficiency than the last. Their attack the last time was fine, but they made a large blunder. They didn't attack Pachirisu, but the ground first, lessening the blow. This time, they would aim directly at the electric-type. Waiting for the moment where Pachirisu was close enough to hit hard, but far enough to where its tail was no threat, Aaron let out another command.
"Spheal, water gun! Blast Pachirisu out of the sky, quick!"
Spheal did exactly so, inhaling heavily and then letting out another burst of water in the directly towards the airborne squirrel. If this hit, not only would it receive damage from the water, but the fall as well.
ooc; Sorry I didn't make that clear ^^; but you were right, Spheal was in the air.

The Parchirisu was almost there, so close-- suddenly a bolt of water was shot at it. It had been in mid spin, and so it's tail bashed against the water gun. They were perfectly even, but the critter gave in. It loosened its tail, and let itself fall to the ground. It landed on its feet, but the fall from that height injured it a bit. The critter wobbled, weakened a lot, but still stood its ground.
Now on its back feet, the wet squirrel let out a growl. Slapping a new bravado on, the pokemon was ready to battle again. It ran up for yet another quick attack trying to wack its tail at the creature again. It was on the break of giving up.

"Persistent little bugger aren't you?" Aaron called out to the Pachirisu, once again admiring its pride and determination. It had been hit several times with direct attacks and it still got back up to fight. It was a sight to behold, but the end of the battle was soon to come, and Aaron was determined to make sure that Spheal was the winner, and Pachirisu on his team.
Spheal however was pretty tired, blasting off attack after attack. It wasn't becoming weak, but just needed a little breather. Unfortunately for it, Pachirisu had already come and hit it before it could regain its composure. This time Spheal was hit head-on and was tumbled back quite a ways. Spheal however still had more energy than the wild Pokemon and swiftly recovered onto its feet.
"Spheal, let's try to finish this up. Powder snow once more." Aaron said calmly, watching his partner release a heavy frosty breeze with frigid debris.

"Persistent little bugger aren't you?"
The Parchirisu, after hitting the Spheal, nodded and snickered. It was rather persistent and stubborn. But it was ready to give up; give in, thrown in the metaphorical towel. This last attack would do it. The little critter stood its ground, waiting for the snow and ice debris to fly at it. Soon it did, the squirrel was a good predictor. The snow and debris flung the squirrel back, and there it lay, fainted.
Parchirisu has fainted. Spheal gains one level. Capture or move on?

Congratulating Spheal with a warm hug and a pat on the head, he called it back into its pokeball for a good rest. He then glanced over to the other participant in the battle, laying quietly on the ground, defeated. Aaron then pulled out one of his empty pokeballs and gently tapped the Pachirisu on the forehead. In it went in a flash of red light, and he simply knelt there awaiting the potentionally captured Pokemon's response. Would it allow him to capture it, or did it still have some fight left in it?
ooc; Used one ::pokeball::

The fainted Pokémon felt the ball engulf it. The red light seemed to trap it some small sphere. The critter almost wanted it break free. The ball wobbled once, twice-- it stopped. The Parchirisu made it stop, it still had some kick left in it.
It almost broke free, it almost opened the latch, but it felt sleep taking it. It needed sleep to regain its strength, its energy. Closing its eyes, the Pokémon felt the ball wobble one more time, before it was trapped.
You caught Parchirisu!

Picking up his newly caught Pokemon, Aaron let out a soft chuckle. He was slightly astounded that within moments of the beginning of his journey, he had already battled and caught a Pokemon. Of course it wasn't the most brilliant battle ever fought, but he did it, and not without help. He was proud that there was a certain cohesion between he and his Pokemon, and he had hoped that there would be the same feeling with the stubborn Pachirisu. The only way to make sure was to battle, but not now.
He latched the pokeball firmly onto his leather belt and started forward once more. His pace was brisk, being slow enough to enjoy the surroundings, yet fast enough for him to possibly arrive in the next town by mid-afternoon. Though time didn't concern him much. All that mattered was he had a pretty decent place to sleep for the night and that he had a great time getting there. The scenery helped with the passing of the time as well.
As the sun beat down on Aaron's hat-covered head, he began to think again. This only meant that he would zone out and daydream about everything, each thought flowing seamlessly into the next by some thin thread. The occasional cry of Pokemon would disrupt his thinking momentarily, but would be easily brushed off and disregarded. Despite the somewhat random thinking, one thing kept surfacing in his internal babble. 'When do I eat?'

A little pink creature dashed along the path. It sang as it walked, happily mewing and pouncing whatever it say move. Her smiled never faded, never faltered. It was always huge and bright.
Soon the little pink ball of joy came across a boy. A boy and a pokemon. <Pokemon trainer! Pokemon trainer!> she cried and darted towards him. Then she saw his pokemon. A spheal, round and blue. <It looks cold> she thought and grimmaced at the thought of cold, but then got distracted by chasing her own tail. [/blockquote]

Looking up at the frolicking pink Pokemon just ahead, Aaron laughed heartily at its lively energy. The feline Pokemon was currently chasing its tail, which intrigued the Pokemon trainer. It had obviously seen him earlier, giving he and his Spheal a quick glance, but didn't see him as a threat unlike his Pachirisu. 'So not all Pokemon view people as threats... You learn something new everyday,' he thought to himself, pulling out his Pokedex from his pack and scanned the scurrying Skitty.
Skitty: The Kitten Pokemon. It can't stop itself from chasing moving things, and it runs in a circle, chasing its own tail.
Aaron then returned the electronic encyclopedia back to its pocket, sifting through the messy thing before closing it back up. "Hey Skitty, up for a battle?" He yelled, nodding to his Spheal just below him. This time he had the intention of battling, but not capturing the Pokemon. But who knew about these things? Perhaps he would change his mind within the midst of battle.
Spheal, being well rested from its previous battle let out a challenging cry,<Spheal, Sph-Spheal!>

"Hey Skitty, up for a battle?"
The skitty smiled and nodded, her grin going evil. <Sure sure! Battle sounds like fun!> she cried and bounced up and down. Battles were fun, because her agility usually made it hard for people to hit her. <I'll go first!!> she said, and without warning pranced forward in an attempted fake out. She wacked her tail around, going in to flinch him. Her accuracy for this move was 100, she loved to use it all the time, but it could ONLY be used at the start of battle.[/blockquote]
