Tereya looked at the star shaped water pokemon in front of her, its ruby red gem shining brightly as it looked at it's new trainer. ::staryu:: "I'm Tereya Hoshikage." Tereya said trying to break the akward silence between the two. the staryu seemed clam enough and she had slowly figure out the name for her. <I know that, but you still need to give me a name.> Staryu remined her trainer gently noting the shy personality of Tereya. "I was thinking of Hoshiko, it means child of the stars." She suggested staring at the beatiful gem as it reflected the starlight from the clear night sky above them. <Much more creative than others I've heard.> The newly named Hoshiko mused. "Erm, do you want to stay out of the pokeball?" Tereya asked Hoshiko looking at the long road ahead of her through the forest. Hoshiko began to walk, Tereya taking that as a no. As the two entered the forest an sense of calm came over Tereya as she relized that she was opaning a new chapter in her life or maybe even beggining a completly different story.

A tiny yawn escaped the Rattata's mouth as her sleepy eyes scanned the calm forest of Route One. Everyday was the same, and as her routine told her to do, her first mission of the day was to walk around until she fully woke up. Which is what she has been trying to do for a good 10 seconds, just barely crawling on her legs as the morning sun blinded her. The Rattata shielded herself with a raised arm, but accidentally let out another yawn. Mumbling to herself as she continued to crawl against the smooth dirt paved path, her ears detected footsteps up ahead. It didn't matter if she was actually sleeping, or dead, those ears of hers could detect almost anything in a heartbeat. It was just whether she cared enough to actually investigate. In this case, it didn't matter, because the trainer and her Staryu were close enough to actually see her with their own eyes. It seems that this time, she was the one to be investigated.

Tereya quickly recognized the pokemon from helping her mother. She put Hoshiko in her pokeball and sat down hoping not to startle the pokemon. "Hi there." she said brightly sitting so that the sun was directly in the rattata's eye. Hoshiko had refused to go into her pokeball but stood next to Tereya. "So, you just woke up?" Tereya said, feeling much more comfortable around pokemon than humans. She smilied sweetly taking her straw sunhat off and setting it on the ground. she also place her light green shoulder bag down too. She was hoping she wouldn't have to fight but she made usre she was ready if she had to. Her steely grey eyes were gentle but wary and her light jade green hair was frizzing from the humidity.

Her powerful sense of hearing told her of the approaching footsteps, and this time they were a little too close for comfort. Still feeling lazy and sloth-like, she weakly stood up to get a better look at the two.
She put Hoshiko in her pokeball and sat down hoping not to startle the Pokémon. "Hi there."
The motion earned a confused tilt of the head, before snapping out of her sleepy daze. The Rattata's eyes widened in faint surprise and quickly relaxed again. They didn't mean any harm, but the Staryu was really creeping her out.
<G-Good morning.> She stuttered out, trying to keep her focus on the human girl, but at the same time worrying about the Staryu's patient gaze.

OOC: My comp. sucks, sorry!
BIC: Tereya looked out of the corner of her eyes at Hoshiko. She sighed a slightly impatient sigh before getting Hoshiko back into her pokeball. She smiled at the rattata. "Don't mind her." She said gently. She tried straightening out her hair which was sneakily curling on her. "Are you hungry?" She added yawning.

After seeing the Staryu promptly returned to its Pokeball, the Rattata heaved a sigh of relief. She just wasn't sure how long she could stand having a sea star stare at her, and not even realize it.
Giving herself a tiny scratch behind her head, the Rattata grinned at the girls question. A meal would be great, actually. But, she had an awful hard time smelling around her to see if she actually had something. Perhaps it was wrapped in plastic, or hidden. That would usually mess her up pretty good.
<I could use some breakfast! > She giggled, rubbing her head up against the human girl affectionately. As long as food was involved, she'd be Tereya's best friend.

"Okay!" Tereya said brightly smiling and scratching the rattata ear while grabbing some bagels from her bag. She cut them in half and decided against letting Hoshiko out. She started humming to herself, which was completly out of character for her. "Would you like soe jelly or cream-cheese?" She asked opening a mini cooler for her drinks and stuff that needed to be kept cold

The gentle Rattata simply smiled as Tereya took out a couple of bagels. <Thank you,> she cooed cheerfully taking a nibble of her bagel.
<Well alittle cream-cheese would be nice, but I really don't wanna be anymore of a bother to you,> she replied looking back up friendly trainer. The honest truth was, the Rattata wasn't too use to trainer giving her breakfast, and she really didn't wanna take much from Tereya.

"It's fine, I can manage to get more if I need it." She said opening the cream cheese and spreading it on the rattata's bagel. She had fallen in love with the gentle little purple mouse pokemon, rat seemed to derogatory for the polite creature.

The taste of the cream cheese had added a lot more flavor to her meal, and to say in the least, she had suddenly acquired a taste for human food. Before it had been just seeds and berries, wild plants, almost everything that could be found out here.
This was a whole new gourmet experience, even if it was just a bagel and some cream cheese. Trainers ate like this everyday, probably. So lucky, and did they even realize it? She wondered as she took a grateful bite out of the meal, enjoying even more of it.
<Thank you so much. You didn't have to feed me, but you did anyway. I wish there was something I could do, or give you. Say the word, and I'll repay you.> The Rattata announced with a certain rodent pride hidden in her eyes. Holding the half eaten bagel in her paws, she attempted to bow to the girl,, but it was hard when one had a stuffed up stomach.

"Well, if you want to, you could come with us." Tereya said knowing that the rattata would most likly come just for the food. she reached her hand out carefully to scratch behind the rattata's ear.

The Rattata let out a pleased sigh as she was scratched behind the ear. A hard spot for her to reach when one had such short arms and legs. Plus she wasn't the most flexible rat around, which made it even harder to soothe those sudden itches.
I think I could get used to this. The Rattata thought with a gentle smile, rubbing against Tereya's hand to get some of her scent on the girl. Making her feel safer around this particular human being.
<I'll come along. I don't even mind doing chores if you ask me to do them.> She spoke as soon as she took back her head to look the trainer in the eyes. Sure, she was still a little freaked out around that Staryu, but as long as she knew somebody on the team, then she felt safe.

Tereya laughed gently at the rattata's last comment. She let Hoshiko out of the pokeball and introduced her to the new member of her little 'family'. This is Hoshiko, Hoshiko this is..." She broke off not sure if the rattata had a name already of not. Hoshiko had told her to name her so, yeah.

"My name is Akimo Mage Jin Heraton Renol Talik Cyo Matin Rattatis the third." Long names ran in the family. "But if you'd like, you can call me something else. Like a nickname." He was a polite one for a rat. He looked at her for a good minute or two with the same gaze as if he was waiting for something. He tilted his head slightly after some time with a confused look. "Aren't you going to catch me? Don't you have to throw a pokeball?" He knew about trainer technology enough to know that to be considered her pokemon, she'd have to catch him in a pokeball.
[Sorry for the laziness. I was planning on logging off when you asked.]

Tereya took out a pokeball and oened it so that she could 'capture' Akimo. Hoshiko had calmed down and Tereya returned her also smiling at the thought of meeting more pokemon. (Tahnks Sprite! ;D)

The typical Pokeball opened up on contact with the Rattata, the heavy object didn't even make her flinch as she was sucked inside. Her new home would forever be in this sphere, unless by some change of dramatic events, and to be honest, she didn't think it was half bad. It was warm, and cozy, just like her burrow. Who could complain about something as good as that? It would be rude to ask for more, or better. You have captured~
Species: Rattata Name: Akimo (may change this) Ability: Run Away/Guts Gender: Female Level: 7 Attacks: Tackle, Tail Whip, Quick Attack, Focus Energy
The Pokeball rested on the ground, halting of any shaking or beeping. Only a tiny 'ping' to allow the owner to know that the Pokémon was successfully captured. All that was left was to pick it up-- Oh dear, what is this? An outline of the Pokeball seemed to hover about until it became perfectly clear that the Pokeball had magically disappeared. Only a small hole right where it used to be existed, and some angry sounding grumbling from down below. <Why does this happen to me!> The angry male voice hissed, thrashing its tail around as the Pokeball was shoved to the edge of the hole. A flat, creamy colored face of a disturbed Dunsparce arrived in the morning light. An odd sight, since they usually approved of the darkness, but it was feeding time. There simply weren't berry bushes underground, after all. Keeping the Pokeball right next to it protectively, it didn't seem like a good idea to try and approach this Pokémon with friendly intentions. ::dunsparce::

Tereya was startled when Akimo's pokeball disappered. She saw the Dunsparce appear from the hole and quickly changed gears. "Hoshiko, be ready to battle." She mummered putting her straw hat back on. "Please give that pokeball back." She asked gently as Hoshiko readied herself. Tereya was nevrous, but every nerve in her body told her that it was time to battle.

His sights were turned to the already aggressive Hoshiko and Tereya and at once knew the cause for his small wound. It was already bruising by now, he assumed. What was in that Pokeball anyway? A brick? With an angry swish of the tail, it kicked the Pokeball into a nearby tree before growling at the two.
If they wanted that Pokeball so badly, they would have to get through him first. Jumping out of the hole with a powerful thump, dust scattered around the ground while he let out a battle cry. It was all part of a secret technique to increase ones Rage power. And right now, he was getting pretty mad at the two.
The Staryu was the first on his attack-list, just because she was so funny looking. Who knew what something without eyes could be thinking about? In his pursuit of revenge, the Dunsparce wildly thrashed about, using his tail and body as his weapons as she charged straight at the Staryu.
