+Teehee... You walk so funny, Jonas.+
The blue-haired boy that was strolling ahead of Doros the Mespirit glanced back briefly to blink at his Pokemon. He looked down at himself, shrugged, then continued to walk; and indeed, he had a slightly odd way of moving. A swing to his hips, to his arms, a light and bouncy step, his head swaying side-to-side slowly as if moving to a gentle rhythm. Like he was dancing down the path.
He'd always moved like that, for as long as he could remember, so he saw nothing wrong with it. If Doros thought it was funny, though, than he didn't mind having the tiny creature giggling at him. He knew the Mespirit meant no harm, and he wasn't really offended.
Jonas had to say, though, he'd always wondered how people could stand walking so stiffly all the time, with straight backs and mechanical steps and movements that seemed pre-programmed. It was boring. He liked dancing through life, a little twirl here or there, body swaying. Moving with the wind. It felt natural, and he didn't care if it was considered weird. He was considered weird, because he was weird, and he'd gotten over that long ago.
+Ari, Ari, doesn't Jonas walk funny?+ Doros glanced down with a smile at the Electrike that shuffled close to the ground, eyes darting. The hound-like creature glanced up quickly at the young Legend, then almost immediately his gaze shifted again.
+I-I guess,+ he stammered, twitching, trembling. He didn't like being here with this odd human and this Mespirit. It was weird and they had something planned, he knew it; they were gonna get him the very second he let his guard down. They were being too nice and too strange and he was not gonna let them get him. Both eyes wide open, never blinking, never sleeping, gotta keep watching... Oh, Arceus...
+You're funny too, Ari,+ commented Doros, floating down closer to the Electrike to pat his head; Aristophanes yelped at the touch and flinched back, and the Mespirit blinked owlishly, pulling his arm back to his chest. +Sorry,+ he murmured, looking dejected. Ari just twitched and looked away.
'My Pokemon are as weird as me,' thought Jonas, amused. A Mespirit child, innocent and overly-affectionate, and a pathetic, paranoid Electrike runt. It was nice being in their company, even if he figured it would be a while before Ari warmed up to him, or to Doros, for that matter. But then there was him, a blue-haired, purple-eyed psychic teenager that looked like a ten-year-old. The two Pokemon fit right in.
He really had to wonder what other things he might come across, if the pattern of strange Pokemon was to continue. He rather hoped it would. Made things more interesting.

High in the sky flew a small bird pokemon. It was green and distinct against the clear blue sky. A natu. It hummed softly as it went in a cheerful mood. Below was a trainer and pokemon that caught it's eyes. It had a more or less uneventful day and it needed a little fun.
So down it went, diving at the trainer. Not to attack, oh no, at least not yet. Instead it would act as if it's head was a tree and consider making a nest in the blue hair. How fun would that be?

((NATU. <3 ILU.))
Jonas, enjoying the nice, warm weather and soft breeze, allowed his eyes to slide shut as he made his way down the relatively-smooth, straight path. He didn't need to see to get through this Route, and he was hoping that if something were to happen, his Pokemon would alert him to it so that he wouldn't be caught unawares.
+OH MY ARCEUS, I-IT'S COMING, GONNA... GAHHH! W-WATCH OUT!+
The terrified, panicking voice of Ari made Jonas' eyes open once more, and he saw... absolutely nothing. Not a single creature was on the path in front of him, or coming for him. He looked behind, too; Doros looked puzzled, was staring dumbly down at Ari, while the Electrike stared wide-eyed at the sky. Jonas looked up.
There was a Natu flying at his head.
Sure, he could have gotten out of the way. Or, he could have sent one of his Pokemon at the bird, tried to scare it off before it could hurt anyone. But it was a Natu. He loved Natus! And it didn't look like it meant any harm. If it did, then there probably wasn't a tremendous amount it would be able to do to him, anyway. He didn't worry. He just let it come.
+Wh-what... what are y-you... are you n-nuts?!+ Ari's voice rose to an incredulous squeak as he realized the blue-haired boy didn't plan on moving. Doros, finally deciding to glance up at where his companions were looking, just smiled.
+Aw, it's okay, Ari. It doesn't seem mean.+ +Th-that's what it wants you to think--!!+
Jonas almost laughed. Aristophanes was such a cute, paranoid little thing, and absolutely ridiculous to boot. Or maybe he was right and Jonas was wrong. Either way, it was funny.

The natu was surprised that the trainer didn't run nor did he flair his arms in attempt to make it go away. Sweet. It sat softly onto the trainers head and began forming a nest. Picking up stands and circling itself, somethings pecking at the scalp to mold the hair the way it wanted. When it was satisfied it curled up in an even smaller ball then it was already and began to act as if it was going to sleep. Grinning all the while.

The Natu landed, didn't try to attack just as Jonas had figured, though it seemed to be constructing a nest right there on the boy's head. It tickled a little, and pinched when the bird's beak pulled a few strands of hair too hard or pecked his scalp, but then it stopped, apparently satisfied with the nest it had made, and curled up.
Aristophanes and Doros really didn't know what to think. They just stared at the bird, blinked slowly, tilted their heads a little; Ari was twitching, but that was nothing odd.
+... It's on your head, Jonas,+ said Doros finally, quietly, nibbling at the knuckles of his left hand, his orange eyes focused on the Natu.
"I noticed," he answered, reaching up a hand at last to poke at the bird. "Excuse me."
+I-it's gonna live on your h-head, you'll be it's host, l-like... like a p-parasite! Oh Arceus! G-get it off!!+ Ari was squeaking again, trembling and twitching and shuffling around in circles.
"I doubt it's that serious," said Jonas with a hint of amusement, poking the bird again. "Could you maybe get off of my head?"
+It's kinda cute,+ cooed Doros, now smiling. +And look how happy it is, all curled up~+
+H-happy?! It's gonna leech the l-life from Jonas! Parasitic! W-wants brains!!+
+I doubt it, Ari,+ said the Mespirit, rolling his eyes and giggling a little.
Jonas poked the Natu one final time. "Um."

The small green bird felt the poking at its back, but just shrugged it off. The person and their pokemon seemed to be talking amungst each other. One pokemon, an electric one which the Natu feared, seemed rather paranoid about it being there.
"Excuse me. Could you maybe get off of my head?"
The Natu looked up from its 'nap' on the boys head. <No thanks,> it chirped plainly, and returned to its rest. It snickered, fooling with humans was fun.[/blockquote]

"Hm," said Jonas, as if he was just going to let it go. He even started walking again, which left Doros and Aristophanes baffled; he was gonna let the bird make a nest on him like that?
What none of the Pokemon were at an angle to notice was that Jonas' eyes were glowing faintly, a purple color, as were the tips of his fingers. He angled one hand upwards to point at the Natu, and though he could not see the glow that would undoubtedly be surrounding it at this point, he heard Ari squeak in surprise and Doros let out an "+oooh!+".
+I-it's gonna attack!+ said the Electrike in a panic. It probably did look like that, as Natu was a psychic-type and this one was clearly wild, meaning that it might have no qualms about attacking.
Jonas then flicked his hand forward, intending on throwing the Natu off. He figured the bird was light, and was small, so it wouldn't be too hard; plus, he wasn't trying to hurt it, just trying to get it out of his hair (literally).

The natu had shut its eyes for this small period of time, feeling save somehow in the boys hair. The natu let out a small chirp, and then was hurled across the forest floor. <Whoa!> it cried, trying to balance itself with its wings again. The bird pumped its wings hard to catch up with the boy again. The electrike was its biggest threat, so it landed on the boys shoulder and looked down at it, in a leer. Then it used night shade, which would only do about 5 damage the natu realized, after already using it.[/blockquote]

Both Aristophanes and Doros were mind-numbingly confused as the Natu was launched from Jonas' head out of absolutely no where, the weird purple glow that had surrounded it proving to be not one of its own attacks but instead some... mysterious force of nature or... something. ... They were pretty dumbstruck, honestly. Didn't suspect the human boy for a second.
+That was weird,+ murmured Doros. Ari let out a little yip-squeak of agreement.
And then, the bird was flapping around, flying back onto Jonas, sitting on his shoulder. The Natu turned around to stare at the Mespirit and Electrike; that stare turned into a glare, a Leer attack, and pointed at Ari specifically. The electric-type just stared wide-eyed and dumb at the tiny green bird.
Then the Natu's eyes glowed, and a sharp sting of pain shot through Ari's body. The poor thing had no idea what was happening; true, the Night Shade was weak due to the Natu's apparently-low level, but he hadn't expected an attack -- well, okay, he had, but that was just his paranoia and usually the things he expected didn't happen because they were illogical -- and he just hadn't been prepared. He yelped loudly, stumbled backwards, shook his head, whimpered.
+A-ah! Ari! Umm... you can take it! Yeah! Go Ari! Rah rah rah!+ Though at first Doros looked alarmed, he perked up quickly and decided to cheer on the Electrike. He was now pumping his arms in the air and doing twirls and flips, giggling and "+rah rah rah!+"-ing like an idiot. Ari stared at him for a long few seconds, still wide-eyed and shaking like a leaf.
But his gaze finally darted back up to the Natu, and he whimpered once more before launching himself at the bird with a Tackle attack, his body sparking with electricity in what might have been a sort of Thunder Wave.

The natu snickered. Listening to those pokemon babble like idiots to each other was funny. It closed its eyes for a minute, and when it opened them it saw the face of a paranoid Electrike charging at it. It seemed like a tackle, and thought, 'I can brush it off,' but then it saw the sparks.
The natu's eyes widened in fear. It squaked and tried to fly away rapidly, but couldn't go fast enough. Its little wings pumped, but the tackle sent it back, and then the thunder ruffled its feathers. It felt the shock wavering through its muscles, and tensed. 'You'll pay for that,' it thought angerily. It dove down at the green pokemon with its beak pointed out in a peck.

Aristophanes seemed no more comfortable and no less twitchy, even though his attack had been quite successful. He was just standing there, staring nervously at his recovering opponent, trying to predict what move the Natu would make next; finally the wild creature flew at Ari with a Peck attack.
He yelped, more due to fear of injury than surprise, and hastily leaped away, landing face-first on the ground but managing to at least evade the attack. Well, that was something. He stood up slowly, shook his head, spat out dirt that had gotten into his mouth. Quivered a little in embarrassment; Doros was giggling quietly, a hand over his mouth to muffle the sound.
+Yeah Ari! Yeah! Go, go, rah!+ encouraged the Mespirit, once he'd stopped laughing at Ari's expense.
The Electrike glared a twitchy glare at his companion and then ran at the Natu once again. This time, no electricity mixed in with the Tackle. Possible that he didn't want to overexert himself and die since that was the sort of thing he tended to worry about. Basically anything could fall into the category of "sort of thing he tended to worry about", so uh.
Jonas, in his own way, seemed quite impressed by Aristophanes' battling. He really hadn't been sure the Electrike would be capable of it, but he was holding his own alright. Had dodged an attack and used an impressive one of his own, the former executed in a way that wasn't quite graceful, but uh, they'd work on it. Nothing wrong with a little training.
And a Natu! What luck! He wasn't the smiley type, but if he had been he undoubtedly would have been grinning his head off at the moment. As it was, his purple eyes were glinting and his hands were on his hips, his stance making him look as pleased as he felt.
Doros had moved, floated up so that he could sprawl himself out on top of the boy's head. He was still waving his arms and "+Rah rah rah!+"-ing, but now he was much more comfortable while doing so. Jonas didn't seem to mind but Ari couldn't help but think, as he barreled towards the Natu, that it was kind of annoying how he had to battle while Doros could sit back and relax.

The Natu was growing weary about the Electrike's dangerous electric type attacks, surely they would be fatal against it if another one hit. As the speedy electric type dove towards it with the complete expression of fear in his eyes, the Natu smirked in its head.
It was a natural at freaking out other Pokemon, one might even consider it a rock, because it could sure be as cold as one when it wanted to. Staying perfectly still, the Natu concentrated a hard stare at Ari, even after the tackle knocked it onto its backside. It was trying hard to keep its breath at a steady rate as it got up, finally a yellow glow of a Leer shimmering around it.
That was what it would spend its time doing for the rest of the turn, this nonstop staring that showed just how powerful its mind was. Of course, it was only a basic attack, but to hold onto the glow without fear of getting hit by another electric attack. Sure, it might've been afraid before, but that was because it hadn't expected such a strong move from the timid Ari.

+A-ahh!+ squeaked Ari. He'd slammed hard into the Natu, had knocked it over, but... the bird was perfectly calm, it seemed, staring with creepy, glowing yellow eyes at the Electrike. A Leer attack. He twitched, trying to meet the psychic-type's eyes. Twitch. Twitch. +You... stop it!+ he shrieked, looking like he might have a heart attack. What was going on why was it staring oh my Arceus ahhhhh--!
In a panic, he started to trot in circles and pace nervously and tremble pathetically, quite obviously shaken by the Leer.
+Ari! Ari! What're you doing?+ Doros called out, cupping his tiny little hands around his mouth to project the squeaky sound.
Jonas frowned, looking slightly perplexed. "You're okay," he said. He wasn't a very loud boy, so talking loud for him meant talking at a normal volume compared to that of other people, as opposed to his usual quiet. Still, Aristophanes heard, and stared at his trainer for a moment, whimpered, and then returned his attention to the Natu.
Okay. Okay. Battle time. Okay. ... He didn't want to do this, oh Mew... +Fine,+ mumbled the Electrike. His body sparked, and yet again he launched forward, a combination of Thunder Wave and Tackle. He was weakened by fear thanks to the Leer attack, and that much was obvious, but he was pressing on regardless, mostly because he figured Doros would make fun of him if he didn't.

Releasing only the slightest hint of a smile, the Natu kept with the dreadful gaze on the Electrike until it saw the familiar combination of Thunder Wave and Tackle. A big 'no-no' to fight against, so instead of tacking it head on like a brave soldier would, it nimbly hopped to the right. Avoiding the main hit of the Tackle, but it had forgotten an important part of the attack.
The Thunder Wave's sparks had a wide range around the Electrike, sorta like a shield of electric energy. That was what caused the flying type to yelp from the unexpected pain. It was like a horrible parasite, just creeping through all of its muscles, temporary muscle spasms were put on its wings. Forcing it to fall limp on the ground, fighting for its independence of movement as the dreaded Paralysis condition struck it.

Ari let out a despaired cry as he darted right past the flying-type, initially under the impression that he'd missed. But as he skidded to a stop and spun around to face his opponent, he blinked, surprised to see that the Natu was on its side, limp and twitching with paralysis. So it had actually worked!
+Yeah yeah yeah yeeeahhh~!+ squealed Doros, twirling and waving his arms gleefully. +You rock, Ari!+ He giggled and did a flip in the air. Jonas seemed pleased in his own subdued way, and nodded, possibly agreeing with the Mespirit's rather enthusiastic reaction to the Natu's paralysis.
+A-ah... ah... I'm w-winning?+ Aristophanes seemed amazed, but excited. He was winning! Wow! He... he wasn't being totally destroyed! That was... awesome! +O-okay! I can... I can do this!+ And he hurried towards the unmoving Natu with another Tackle, squeezing his eyes shut as he flung himself at the psychic-type with as much power as he could muster.

((Sorry, the C-Box broke on me. D:
So, dun worry that I went silent~ ))
Ugh...This is making me look so foolish.
The Natu thought in silent disappointment as the Electrike's team was cheering him on. Just making it feel even more sour and depressed as it attempted to stand up, but fell right on its beak. Giving it a painful landing, about the equivalent of being hit in the funny bone.
Its winced as it pulled its dirt covered beak from the earth's surface, and glanced up at Ari, just catching it at the last second that he was about to Tackle it. Its eyes widened in surprise and was about to say something when it was knocked down to the side, the wind was totally knocked out of it.
"Tuuu...." It cooed as finally some feeling went into its wings and legs, standing upright as it sent an annoyed glance of all of its experiences in the battle so far. Taking it out the best way it could with the least amount of movement possible, it used a Night Shade on the Electric type.

((Oh okay. :0
I was wondering what happened to you. xD I was like "HUH."))
Ari had gotten comfortable too soon, triumphant due to the success of his attacks thus-far. The Tackle had connected nicely and he was now just casually trotting away from his opponent. (That is, as casual as a creature as twitchy and paranoid as Aristophanes could be. He was still looking over his shoulder in a spastic sort of way every few seconds or so.) Nothing seemed amiss and he felt almost as if he'd won... until he felt another sharp twang of pain shoot through his little body, making his static-charged fur bristle.
A yelp. The Night Shade attack had caught him perfectly off-guard and his knees shook violently before his legs gave way, and he dropped to the ground, whimpering. Ow ow ow. It wasn't a strong attack, true, but Ari wasn't very strong yet and was a bit of a wimp. He was probably just over exaggerating and being a ham.
+You can do it!+ encouraged Doros loudly.
So the Electrike returned to his feet, though a headache was making his head feel like it might explode at any given moment. Stupid Night Shade. He shook himself, and once more ran forward with a Tackle attack. Needed some better moves. Gah.

Not feeling better in the slightest when the Night Shade made contact, the Natu felt an eerie wind blow past it as the Electrike was going to make its next predictable attack. Yes, the attacks were already stored in the tiny birds memory by now. Why else would it keep using those two same moves?
Sadly, it was left with little to none movement. It could attack, but a dodge was out of the question by now. There simply wasn't enough time to let the paralysis wear off, especially with the electric type running right at it.
Taking a deep sigh, the Natu huddled its wings and closed its eyes as it braced for contact with the Tackle. This time it was the finishing blow, sending it right on top of a pile of bushes, swirls were in its eyes as it laid therein a faint.
Ari gains a level. Capture or move on?

The battle was over and Ari was breathing heavily. He had a headache and phantom pain was making his body feel slightly weak, but he'd managed to finish the fight mostly unharmed. He was still standing and hopefully the aches would go away, so he'd be alright.
+Yaaaaay!+ Doros launched forward to hug the Electrike, who squeaked in surprise and immediately started to wriggle around, trying to escape. The Mespirit paid no mind and continued to squeeze his companion affectionately. He even went so far as to accidentally numb Aristophanes' emotions, effectively calming him down but also leaving him rather blank until Doros noticed what had happened and returned the emotions he'd subconsciously drained. Then Ari struggled even more.
Meanwhile, Jonas had a gleam in his eyes that showed he was happy, and proud of his Pokemon as well, as he looked in Ari's direction and said a quiet "good job" that went unheard. He nodded slowly, and reached into the bag slung over his shoulder, pulling out a Pokeball from within. He approached the unconscious Natu, stroked its feathers gently for a moment as if to comfort it -- the creature had put up a good fight, after all, and deserved respect -- and then tapped it as softly as he could with the orb. It burst open, absorbing the creature in a flash of red light.

The ball wiggled around in the boy's hand. If he wasn't careful it might fully well drop to the ground. The Natu obviously had enough kick in it to struggle against the bonds of the pokeball. But it gave up rather quickly compared to other Pokémon and the dot in the center of the ball glowed red. It gave a soft ping noise and stopped moving. Complete capture. You receive Natu!Name: --- Lvl: 6 Attacks: Peck, Leer, Night Shade Ari gains a lvl. End or Continue?
