Habara was pretty excited as he left the lab. His hand never left the cool surface of the pokeball. As soon as he was far enough, a bit off the road so he could be sure he'd be alone. He was a bit nervous about meeting his pokemon. Would the fire critter like him? Would it want to listen to him?
Finally stopping a bit off the road, between two large trees, he pressed the white button on the side of the red and white ball. A bream of red light was released and it slowly formed the shape of a Cyndaquil. When the light fades, the pokemon seemed rather lost, looking around curiously. The fire on his back was minuscule, barely flickering on and off.
"Hello," said Habara. "I'm your trainer, from now on. I... I hope you will like having me as your trainer."
The pokemon seemed to understand him, giving his trainer a smile and letting its fire run wild. "Cyn!"
"Well, I have to think about a good name for you now... how about...Kaen?"
The fire pokemon thought about it for a moment, before letting out another happy cry. Habara smiled back, taking that as an 'okay'.
"Well then, Kaen. Why don't we get back on the road so we can get started already?" said the trainer. The pokemon raced pass him, making their way back to the beaten down path.

Lollygagging on the sides of multiple tree branches were a couple of young worms, caught in an exciting game of ‘String Shot’ tag. Multiple sticky threads blocked the path ahead of the trainer, unless you decided to crawl under it. It almost looked like a giant spider’s web except the pattern was distinctly different; threads were shot out in random directions instead of the perfect symmetric circles of a spider web.
Hanging in mid-air were the perpetrators, a Caterpie and a Wurmple were trapped in their own mess of string. Struggling to bite off the cocoon shaped threading around each of them so they could be the first one out.
<As soon as I get out…I’m telling mom.> The Wurmple muttered through a non-stop series of bites against the Caterpie’s thread.
<You’ll never get out of there! My string shot is the baddest, and the toughest, and the most awesome thing ever!> The Caterpie cried, taking a deep breath to get in some oxygen before trying to free itself from the Wurmples thread. They were more than half way through the process, but the quick pace they were at was slowing down.

The cyndaquil was racing in front of his trainer, making his way through the trees. This was so much better than the stuffy lab! He was so glad to be out, running through the forest. His trainer seemed like someone he'd really like, which was just great.
He soon caught sight of a weird white... mass between a couple of trees and went to investigate. It seems that two little bug Pokémon had gotten caught... by their own webs?
"Do you need any help, up there?" he asked as his trainer finally caught on. Habara found a smile gracing his lips. This was pretty amusing... he wasn't that concerned about the bug pokemon, as they didn't seem in any danger. He did want to help them as well, though. The bug Pokémon were having a pretty hard time freeing themselves...

The two worm Pokémon couldn’t help but stop to take a quick breather, turning to look down with bright red faces to have complete strangers seeing them like this. It was more than awkward, but as long as they didn’t tell their parents, then they should’ve been alright. The duo looked down, not quite sure about what to do before mumbling an innocent 'Yes please'. The Caterpie turned to give the Wurmple a friendly smile, still keeping its sly ways by teasing the red one mercilessly.
<I’m, sure that I’ll be out first. My string it just too hard to break out of. Maybe I’ll help you out as soon as I get out.> The Caterpie began, watching the Wurmple get even more frustrated with its crazy antics.
<Or maybe I’ll just tell mom!> It argued back, knowing just how afraid the little Caterpie was of its own mother, an angry Beautifly with a short-temper. Quite savage despite her good-looks, which was what got the Caterpie every time.
<Noooo….Don’t do that.> The Caterpie made an exaggerated plea for help, shaking its head rapidly a couple of times while waiting to be rescued. They weren’t exactly sure how they would escape, but as long as the two below them had a plan.

The Cyndaquil was happy that he had been allowed to help out and turned to his trainer for guidance. Habara examined the threads that were holding the two bug Pokémon in place. He experimentally touched one with his hands, finding it all extremely sticky. Well, this would be tricky... He didn't really want to have all four of them covered in String Shots, and since Kaen didn't know any fire attacks, they couldn't just burn down the web.
Not that Habara would even try doing. It would be too risky and the bug Pokémon could get harmed on the way.
"Come on, Kaen... let's get these two bugs down... Try to loosen up the strings. Don't burn anything, though!" As he gave out his commands, Habara readied himself to get his hands dirty. He took off his blazer, hanging it on a nearby tree branch, before he slowly started to part the sticky substance, starting with the caterpie's side. He was aiming to slowly loosen the bug so that he could ease it out, before working on the other one.
Kaen was trying hard to help as well, but he was finding it pretty difficult to even move around in the pool of webs. He really wanted to just burn everything away, but his trainer told him not to.

The Caterpie was finding that with Habara and Kaen’s help, the tight string around it was beginning to loosen up. It was a slow process, because the thread had a tendency to cling to whatever it touched, that is, until it dried up and hardened. Then it would become easy to break up, but that would possibly take a full night unless they found some way to speed it up.
<I think I can breathe easier. > The Caterpie joked, taking a couple of glances at the Cyndaquil and human while they worked around it. Truly, it was thankful for their efforts to help the two out. But there really wasn’t that much that they could do in return, they didn’t really care for things like material goods, as humans often did.
<But really, thanks for helping us.> The Caterpie replied with a more grateful smile than before. For a bug type, it could be pretty cute when it wanted to be.
<It’s a shame that you guys don’t have anything sharp on ya…I’m sure that would make it easier, maybe a stick or something?> The Wurmple offered, decided that if there was something to help out with the sticky threads, Habara wouldn’t get as dirty.

Habara only smiled at the comment. He didn't really mind the sticky substance. Well, maybe a bit, but it was worth it, right? The two bug pokemon needed help so he had to help them.
His arms and hands were getting covered in the mess but he still went back in, time after time, to part the web around the caterpie's body. He could see that it was getting a bit looser and that gave him enough incentive to continue with what he was doing.
Kain had abandoned trying to do anything with his tiny little limbs and went to follow the bug's suggestion. A stick was soon found and the fire pokemon clumsily tried to maneuver it so that it would undo and break as much of the web as he could.
"I'm almost there," Habara said. "Just a bit more and you'll be free, and I'll go and get you out of there as well."

The Caterpie had been watching the trainer, as the two bug pokemon sat in mostly silence as the two strangers helped them out. Time was slowly ticking by, and the Caterpie was strongly aware that they could've simply have waltzed by without a care or they could've given up and left by now. He was starting to respect this guy, but he was curious about him. He seemed a bit rough around the edges, but strangly gentle in the way he spoke.
<So. Why'd you decide to stop and help me? I mean us?> he asked, nodding at Habara's comment. The Caterpie shot a look at his partner in crime, <I don't know about helping /him/ though. He was the one that got us into this mess.> he added accusingly.
The Wurmple was wincing slightly, it was kind of the Cyndaquil to help him, but the pokemon had stubby little arms and could'nt control the stick too well. So, as the fire pokemon attempted to rid the Wurmple of the tight web surrounding him, his body was getting poked by the stick. Bravely though, he didn't complain. It was working after all, the webbing was was slowly loosening. A large frayed patch of the silk strands was now visable.
As the Wurmple wiggled, attempting to get out of the mess, he was able to rip the cacoon further. He was nearly out. Using the last bits of thrust he had he wiggled as feriously as he could. With a grunt, he popped out. Silk strands coated his body, but he was free! He grinned happily, and returned his partners glare. <Yeah. It's probably my fault. My strings are so strong after all. You still aren't out!> he taunted, making his way down to the ground.

Habara has a little smile on his face as he listened to the two of them banter. They reminded him of little children, fighting over something pretty stupid. Well, they pretty much were children, weren't they?
"Helping is the right thing to do," he replied easily. Helping out was just so satisfying for him, knowing he did something to aid the ones around him. Besides, those bug pokemon had simply been playing. It'd be such a pity if they ended up on someone else's plate just for getting caught while playing around.
"Even if it gets a bit messy," the fire pokemon added, trying to get rid of the sticky residue on him.
"Here we are!" Habara had finally managed to free the little worm and had a hand ready to catch it if it fell down. "Free."
The area between the two trees were a mess. It was really an accident waiting to happen. Habara wouldn't be surprised if other pokemon get caught in it when they left, but there wasn't much he could do. Maybe he should get a long pine branch to sweep everything away, later. After he was clean again. The sticky string shots in his hair was starting to bug him just a bit.

Both bug Pokémon were now side by side on the ground, beaming up at the trainer. But they knew that they'd made too much mess, and were incapable of clearing it up. Wurmple wasn't too bothered, but Caterpie knew that if his mother found out, she'd have to incur her wrath, and that was worse than finding yourself on a dinner plate surrounded by hungry Fearow. Well, maybe not that bad, but still.
Plucking up the courage, Caterpie spoke up. "Mr human, sir?" He asked, remembering what his mother always said about ettiquette and being respectfull. "Maybe could you help us get this sticky string out of the way? My mom would kill me if she saw it, because it has the telltale signs of my awesome string shot, unlike my Wurmple buddy here." "Hey!" Wurmple piped in. Ignoring him, Caterpie continued. "Maybe you could pull it down, or your friend here," He gestured to Cyndaquil. "Could burn it? Not too much, though." Caterpie knew it was a lot to ask, but this Human seemed kind enough.

"I can burn it," said Kaen, rather decisively. He was a fire pokemon and even though his trainer didn't seem to keen of his element, there was no one he could hurt now. There was nother more than the strands of string shot, still woven between the trees.
Habara was obviously trying not to express his distaste at the suggestion. He should, really. He was the trainer, right? But at the same time, he wanted the pokemon to know that he trusted him to make the right decisions.
"Just... be careful," he said, hoping that nothing bad would come out of it. Happily, Kaen made his way over to the netting and let out a little bit of fire from his back. It wasn't anything impressive but it did the job. The white sticky strings were burning away.

When all the stringy web had burnt away, Wurmple and Caterpie cheered gratefully. "Thankyou, thankyou!" They shouted to Habara and Kaen. "We would repay you, but we don't really have anything to give you..." Said Caterpie.
Suddenly, there was a flash, and out of the woods flew the largest Butterfree you've ever seen. Angrily, she flew over to Habara. "Human!" She shreiked. "Trainer! Get away from my baby!" She was about to use some type of attack, when Caterpie piped up. "Mom! No!" He quickly squirmed over to her. "No! He helped us Mom, don't hurt him!" Before she could respond, she took a look at the situation. Burnt string shot and no signs of a fight. And her baby and his freind looked unhurt. Besides, the trainer had a fire type, and she didn't want to have to battle it.
"Well... Okay then, let me repay you." With a flurry of her wings, a rain of shiny dust blew up into the air, glimmering as they floated tothey ground, where they stopped. Then, seemingly magneticly, the particles shuddered and pulled themselves towards eachother, forming a small pile on the floor. "That's stardust." She explained. "It's relatively useless to me, but apparently its quite sought after by humans. Only a few Butterfree carry them on their wings." And with that, she turned to her son. "Come now!" She said, sternly. "And you, Wurmple, your mother will be worrying." And she flew down and shooed them into the foliage with her now less magnificent wings. "Thanks again!"
You gained Stardust!
