Alice looked up at the male, still smiling. Even though he towered over her, she didn't seem to find him intimidating. In fact, she didn't realize it at all ... Alice was just happy to see a fellow trainer so early in her journey. However, at his frown, her smile slid off of her face, replaced by an equally cold expression. That's not fair! she thought. I didn't do anything -- so why is he looking at me that way?! She narrowed her eyes, her frigid blue eyes not moving from ( Tag's? ) black ones. She stared at him, unblinking, her cold face set in hard lines -- an expression that was unnatural for a childish face such as hers.
"And you're a trainer."
The girl immediately lightened up at the change of topic. The girl held up Jasmine, smiling. "Yep!" she replied happily. Her expression was completely different then the one she wore just a few seconds ago. Capricious, you could call her. At the mention of garbage, however, she was confused. "Garbage ...?" she murmured, then turned to look at the Geodude when he gestured to it. Oh. She bit her lip, pondering the question of whether she could capture it or not, then walked over, picked it up, and placed it in the bushes, where it could rest and wake up undisturbed. Alice silently walked walked back, then replied, "What garbage?" She smiled dangerously, indicating that the other trainer should not mention the wild Pokémon.
Jasmine was mildly opposed to Alice's decision -- after all, she was the one that ordered her to battle -- but thought better of protesting. They did not need a Pokémon such as that, who would fight with all of the other Pokémon ... she was lost in her own reasoning, when the two Sentrets appeared. +Woah!+ she exclaimed, then automatically glanced at her trainer.
Alice whirled around when she heard the male calling to the other pokemon, then giggled at its expression when it saw the two trainers. "Oh!" she said, still giggling a bit. Apparently, all that had transpired in the last few minutes was forgotten at the appearance of the new Pokémon. In reply, she said, "Hi there!"

Alice's response--more specifically, her care for the wild pokemon--intrigued Tag just a bit. But that was all. He stared at her, not planning to verbally acknowledge her statement. Curiosity then drove his eyes to follow the others' line of focus; two sentret that had wandered into the area. They weren't particularly interesting pokemon, but Tag wasn't sure what sort of pokemon he was after anyway. He lowered his eyes as one of the creatures bashed its nose into his leg. The collision caused a more painful sensation than normal because of Tag's recent incident with the geodude, but it was still nothing to fret over. He also pleasantly realized that his pants had dried off quite a bit since the rain.
Tag glanced at the other trainer; he wasn't quite sure he appreciated her presence while he was about to begin his first battle. "Stand back, little girl," he muttered with a glance before lifting his pokeball and pushing the button with his thumb, releasing a flash of red light that immediately migrated towards the ground.
"Reee-ee-e-eeee...." the pokemon stuttered softly, timid, black eyes as large as saucers. The blue of her face was incredibly pale, and her striped ears were pressed firmly back. Her body of immense yellow fluff and bulb-topped tail indicated her species; she was a small Mareep, scared stiff and faced with the two sentret.
"Tackle it," Tag ordered after a pause, eyeing his mareep curiously. This was the first time he had let the pokemon out of his pokeball--quite uneducated in the methods of pokemon training, he had not thought to introduce himself or what have you. He wasn't quite positive on how these things worked, but he had certainly not expected this unprofessional sort of presentation from his first pokemon.

The male had started to help his friend to her paws when the Mareep was ordered to use Tackle. He whirled around, looking surprised. The trainer had already initiated a fight? But it wasn't like they had meant to run into him!
He jumped away from the Tackle attack, but his female friend was not so lucky. She was paying more attention to her throbbing nose to even noticed that the male trainer had pulled out a Pokemon.
Mareep slammed into her gut and sent the Sentret spinning down the path, head over tail. She crashed into a tree and sat there, upside down, looking dazed and confused. It took her a few seconds, but she got back to her paws, looking unhappy.
{Didn't even get any warning. . . ,} she muttered crossly, glaring at the Mareep and its trainer. The male Sentret bounded over to see if she was ok, then the two faced the sheep Pokemon.
{So you wanna fight?} he assumed, also glaring at the Pokemon. Male and female shared glances, then they started to run toward the Mareep, both poised to use Scratch attack on it. See how it liked being double-teamed!

( I'm sorry! D= My muse is awful. Please bear with me. )
Alice's eyes widened as she watched the Mareep tackle one of the Sentrets -- even more so when they both prepared to attack the other trainer's pokemon. Oh, no. Alice bit her lip. He probably wouldn't want her to interfere, but it wasn't for his sake that she was going to even out the odds. It was for that Mareep's. Alice began, "Jasmine! Use --"
+I know!+ Jasmine cut her trainer off, rather happy. This Skitty loved battles -- and that rush of manic energy that she felt when she was doing so. She had already dashed at one of the Sentrets, then exploded off of the ground in a TACKLE, throwing her entire body at the female opponent, in an aerial attack.
The trainer nodded in encouragement. Jasmine, had the same idea she did. After all, two-on-one was hardly fair, was it? "Go, Jasmine!" Alice cheered.

((no problem! =D patience is a virtue. xP ))
Mareep had somehow managed the courage to throw herself at the sentret, but this did not aid her situation, other than throw the sentret a few feet worth from its next attack. She quickly tucked her head beneath blue paws, shaking madly in wait for harm to come her way.
Tag was much too enveloped in his own pokemon's questionable behavior than to realize the Skitty's interference. "Quit acting like a fool," he muttered with a hard stare at his mareep. The Pokémon gave a jerk in response, slowly lifting her head to glance over her fluffy shoulder at the boy. She had no idea who he was, other than the fact that he now owned her. With a sad, frightened sigh, she tucked her head back into her paws and wrapped her tail against her fluff. "This is ridiculous," Tag frowned, a lip curled in disappointment. "Get up, you stupid--" He stopped himself, closing his lips and taking just one step towards Mareep.

The female Sentret gave a loud wail as she was thrown to the side by the Skitty. She slumped to the ground, not at all feeling very hot. She untangled herself and got to her paws, giving her fur a shake.
The male Sentret started to attack the Mareep then noticed his comrade was gone. He was going to continue his Scratch attack until he saw how frightened the Mareep was. He stopped in mid-pounce and tilted his head to the side.
{Hey. . . Um. . . Ah, what do I do. . . ,} he muttered to himself, not wanting to be the big jerk-face and attack an opponent who so obviously did not want to battle. He looked to the Mareep's trainer and cringed. He did not look at all happy.
Facing the Skitty, the female Sentret looked to her friend and then the Mareep. Aw. . . He didn't have an opponent who wanted to fight. . . She held up a paw to the Skitty to tell her to wait a minute, then bounded over to her partner.
{Hey! I'll handle this! You go take on the Skitty and her trainer!} she said, smiling at him. He nodded, then turned on the Skitty. Battle! That's what he knew! He didn't know how to console an upset person. . .
{Guess I'm your opponent now!} he said cheerily, running at the Skitty and lifting his paw up. He was finally going to get to use his Scratch attack! He hoped briefly that the Mareep's trainer wasn't too mad at her, though. . .

Alice turned to look at Tag -- what the heck was he doing?! Alice was furious. It was obvious that Mareep didn't want to fight! And yet ... he called her a name! How dare he! The trainer fumed silently, but didn't dare speak up, lest she begin kicking ... something ... and end up shattering things. The girl was nearly shaking with rage, too busy to notice that the two Sentret just traded places.
Jasmine was angry, as well. She felt like scratching that guy's face off. He was such an irritating trainer! She hissed slightly, arching her back. Then the pink cat turned to face the two opponent pokemon when she heard them speak. What? she thought. Then the Skitty tried to dash out of the way when she realized that the other pokemon was going to attack -- the male, this time. However, the claws scraped her tail. Jasmine stared in horror at the lines in her tail. +No. Way. Why the tail?!+ She then glared at the other pokemon, an aura of malice seemingly surrounding her. She liked her tail. It was pretty.
The trainer finally turned back to her pokemon, her mouth opening slightly in horror. "Your tail!" she exclaimed, as if it wasn't already obvious. Alice liked Jasmine's tail, too, as it was a lot of fun to play with for her. "Use Tackle!" she commanded, rather irked that she hadn't been paying enough attention.
The Skitty nodded then used TACKLE once again, in revenge for ruining her pretty tail.

The Sentret flinched without a thought, his male instincts were crying at him in horror as he saw the stricken look of shock locked on the Skitty’s face. He knew just how evil girls could be, and he prided himself on his instincts of the female mind. And right now, he wished he never had that instinct at all. Her sharp look up at him back him take a step back, with each harsh word stinging him with the force of a tackle in the gut. He was starting to get scared.
<I…uh…I…> He stammered without the correct knowledge of how to handle this situation, for words were obviously not going to work on her to at least calm her down. Right after that, he was tackled in the center of his chest, without the slightest defense to back him up. He curled into a ball, his tail covering his injured body as he rolled to a complete halt, dazed and confused in his awkward position. There was the oddest sensation of having his leg right over his head, and when his tail fell to the ground, he realized just how mangled up he looked.
<Ahahaha. She got you, bub! Nice landing, by the way. > The female Sentret was cracking up over the sight, since she had no reason to worry over a nervous Mareep. They tended to be shy and sweet anyways, so she wasn’t all that surprised about it.
<I-I-…Well I’m sorry. Should I just aim for her face or something? Or would she explode because I messed up her fur? Dear Arceus…Why make women the way they are?> He whined with a pat against his dusty fur, to at least try and straighten himself off. His ears were twitching, listening for the Skitty’s movements to make sure he had enough time to react to any of her surprise attacks. Deciding to take a more defensive approach, he ran straight at her with a Quick Attack, using his speed to catch her off guard by swirling around to her side, and curling into a Defense Curl in order to attack. The force from his own Quick Attack would have been enough to make him go forward, and turn into a Sentret cannonball.
<And you. Are you a new timer? First battle, eh? Well, I’m sure you don’t want too…But your human obviously does. Your human has no power over you, in fact, you own him. After all, who’s the one feeding who? He’s the one that is completely responsible for you, so don’t be afraid to take control, eh? > The female Sentret lifted her paws up into the air, making crazy hand gestures as she talked to try and empathize her meanings. Sure, her way of thinking was a little different than what the Mareep may be used too…But she was trying to help the Mareep, not the trainer.

The mareep peeked over her paws at the Sentret's friendly voice, blinking as she registered the fact that there was no battle here. "Meeeep..." she shivered in contemplation; her young mind was not the most complex, but she was able to register this much: she could... probably... do whatever she wanted! She didn't... have to.... battle... yeah, that was what the Sentret was saying. "Eeep!" she called out happily, clutching her paws to her body and willing herself back into her pokeball. And in a flash of that familiar red light, she had disappeared.
"Man alive, this is unbelievable," Tag frowned, holding the now occupied pokeball. "How did I ever come to choose this one..." he continued muttering to himself, eyes glazed over with the memory of seeing Mareep's image on a poster. He quickly brushed the thought aside, however; nostalgia was a thing Tag, for one reason or another, wanted to avoid. This is embarrassing, the brunette thought to himself, glancing at the other trainer from the corner of his eyes for just a moment. He then hissed in the direction of his pokeball, "Mareep, you get out here this instant, I'm warning you..." Tag ushered, dissatisfaction curling his cherub lips. There was no response from the pokeball.

Alice, whose attention was on Tag, had to supress a giggle. That Mareep was soo cute! Even though it had disobeyed its trainer's orders, she couldn't help wanting to hug that absolutely adorable fluffy ball of wool. D'aaw ... the thought, once again engrossed in the other trainer and his pokemon's amusing actions. But the paused for a moment. Even though the guy wanted the sheep Pokémon to come out, it didn't. Bizarre. The thought of a Pokémon wanting to stay in its pokeball was, to her, unheard of. Of course, this meant she wasn't paying any attention at all to her own battle.
Jasmine attempted to face the rolling Sentret head-on, which, to put it mildly, didn't work. She was tossed backwards, panting. +Oh, ick!+ she exclaimed, spitting out a mouthful of dirt. After glancing at Alice and deciding that her trainer was of absolutely no use, she began singing, in a sweet voice -- a lullaby. She kept up the SING attack, hopefully putting both Sentrets to sleep, then ended the song, dashing once again at the Male Sentret in a TACKLE.

Sing, a powerful lullaby that placed most Pokemon asleep when heard. In this case, only the female Sentret was effected by it, falling asleep slowly as she curled up into a ball.
The male on the other hand was worried too much about his mate and thus, was hit with the tackle attack. Skidding back some in the dirt, Sentret shook off the attack quickly and then ran back to use a tackle attack of his own.

Jasmine, with much effort, pushed herself out of the way, feeling her muscles tensing painfully. Ugh. The Skitty decided she really needed a rest ... after this battle. She glanced swiftly at the Female Sentret, a look of satisfaction on her face. Then, hoping that she wouldn't wake up anytime soon, turned to face the Male pokemon, her voice fierce as she declared, +I'm going to end this soon.+ She flicked her tail, hoping that the rush of wind would still the throbbing, constant pain. Jasmine flinched as the wound flared up again, then subsided.
Alice froze when the Sentret attacked Jasmine. She knew that her pokemon would not be able to take that many more hits before she went out of action completely. She took a deep breath, then yelled, "Use Tackle, Jas!" The trainer hoped that she would last long enough to end the battle with the male ...
The Skitty grunted as she faced the Sentret, then began running all-out at the opponent pokemon, panting heavily. The fatigue in her muscles would take quite a bit of rest to heal. She threw herself at the Sentret, using her running start to make the best of the attack.

The male Sentret was hit in the side by the Tackle attack. He tumbled to the ground and rolled about before finally stopping thanks to friction. He tried to heave himself to his paws, but collapsed again. He looked up at his sleeping friend. Well, at least she was out of commision while he was getting the crud beat out of him. He lied his head down and let the pain wash over him as he fainted. Still the Female slept, unable to do anything. She was dreaming, though, dreaming about hopping around in holes and just having a grand ol' time with her friend. It was a nice little dream, and her paws twitched as she slept. Alice lowered her voice, glad when the male fainted. Now it left the female Sentret, who was asleep. "Jasmine! Use Tackle!" she said, pointing at the sleeping pokemon. When nothing happened, she turned to look at her pokemon. "Jasmine?" she asked.
The Skitty was laying on the groud, completely exhausted. She was breathing heavily. The cat pokemon tried to steady herself with deep breaths, then looked up, realizing that her trainer was about to go into hysterics. +I'm fine!+ she said hastily, shiving her leaden body off of the ground. She could probably manage one more attack -- after that, she'd be unable to move. However, she waved away Alice's complaints and desperately threw herself at the Female Sentret.
The trainer objected her pokemon's reckless behavior. "Jasmine .." she breathed. Her Skitty's pitiful act didn't fool her. She was not going to finish this battle. Her heart was heavy as she watched Jasmine Tackle the female.

The female let out a pitiful cry as her once pleasent dream turned intoa roiling nightmare with creatures of the night leaping out of the darkness and striking her. Wreastling with pain, she remained solidly asleep, eyes creased as she mewled her quiet complaints.
She was out of it, and her health was low. Although not fainted, she was asleep and could be left alone or captured with ease. The Sentret was exhusted and really didn't want to wake up, since her nightmare was easing back into a pleasent dream. Curling up into a tight bal resembling the fetal posistion she let out a quiet snore.
Jasmine gains two levels! Capture the Sentret or move on?

Alice throught for a moment, then tossed her pokeball at the Female Sentret. She felt bad for just leaving the Male one there, but ... Alice really didn't need them both. The trainer smiled, then, scooping up her precious Jasmine, who could only breathe and look around. Her muscles didn't want to obey her anymore. "Good job," Alice said, rubbing the Skitty's furry head. "You can sleep now." In a flash of red light, the Skitty returned to her pokeball, leaving small sweat marks on her trainer's shirt. "Aw, well," Alice sighed, looking down at her white shirt. She shrugged, grabbing a different pokeball, releasing the pokemon within.
Ebony came out of the ball, materializing in front of her trainer. She looked around, then fluffed up her feathers, cawing loudly. +So, what're we doin'?+ she asked, hopping back and forth on the dirt road, pecking and clawing at the ground. She was looking for anything that might be .... anything that might be interesting. After a while ( Alice was just staring at her pokemon, bewildered by the Murkrow's behaviour ), her talon struck something. +Ooh, whazziss?+ she said, then began digging up the item, which turned out to be a bottle cap. The bird exampined it, turning it this way and that. +Hmm ... with a little polishing, this would be a fine treasure ...+
The trainer rolled her eyes, calling, "Come on, Ebony! Let's goo~!" She giggled, running forward. "I'mma leave you behind!"
+All right, all right ...+ The bird took flight and began chasing her trainer in circles.

Today was cold and chilly, and it seemed that today, fate was having a bit of a rage, giving bad luck to all people who wanted to face the wind. As the Pokeball closed with the Sentret inside, a small Caterpie appeared, wanting to play. [ball?] He asked, and then, as it seemed to be a magic word, another Caterpie appeared. [play?] this one asked, both surrounding the Pokeball, wanting.. to play.

Alice giggled as she say the two Caterpie approach her pokeball ... until she realized that they wanted to play. "No! Not with that!" she called, running forward. The Sentret -- Peace ( her new name ) -- was in there! The trainer sprinted to the pokeball. She did, however, stop when she was a black blur shoot past her. " .. Ebony?" she asked hesitantly.
The Murkrow didn't her her trainer. When she had heard her trainer call out, the bird had turned to look at what was going on. And then ... the sunlight gleamed on the pokeball, making it ... shiny. +SHINY!+ she screeched, rocketing at the pokeball, attempting to get rid of the two things surrounding it, as if they were going to take it from her. +MY SHINY!!+ The Murkrow then attacked a Caterpie with a PECK attack.
Alice was completely blown away by her pokemon's odd behaviour. "Ebony!" she yelled. "Come baa~ck!"

The Caterpie smiled as the Trainer approached, they themselves were twins and didn't seem to know of humans yet.
Then.. it appeared, a bird, natural enemy of all Caterpie and worm Pokemon. The one on the left, a male, was attacked. The other male ran to the one hurt and cried out some.
From the trees.. six other Caterpie appeared.. angry.

(( HOLYMOTHEROFARCEUS! >O ))
Alice's mouth fell open. And then she began to shake ... shake uncontrollably. Sure, they weren't Spinarak, but ... there were just so ... many! She began hyperventilating ... and passed out. But not for long ...
Oh ... my ... god. --- Alexis opened her eyes, sitting up immediately. This was not good. Her face .. no, Alice's face, was usually light, happy, pretty much carefree. Now, her face was dark, gaunt. A dark aura prectucally seeped from her pores. She grabbed a few more pokeballs from her belt. Two of them would be rather useless, but ... Out of the pokeballs came three other Pokémon. A Drifloon, Honor drifted around, glancing at Alexis warily. This was not the normal Alice ...
The other two were newly hatched -- Verity, a Swablu, and Justice, a Jade Riolu. The looked at the Caterpie, scared. +So many!+ Verity said, shaking slightly.
"Don't worry!" Alexis called in her low voice. "You can take them on .... not really." The trainer whispered the very last word. "After all, there're only two useful Pokémon. The other two are just hatchlings that have never battled ... we'll probably lose ..." Alex droned on and on, becomone more and more depressed. "Well, Ebony, keep attacking using Peck! Honor, use Gust! Um ... Verity, Peck, and, Justice, Ice Punch!"
The four Pokémon all began attacking, Ebony and Honor taking different pokemon, and Verity and Justice attacking the same Pokémon.
The Murkrow once again dove down to attack a Caterpie with her beak -- Honor whipped up powerful winds to attack the one on the far left.
On the one farthest right, the Riolu charged his fist with a sub-zero temperature and threw a sharp jab at it as the Swablu attacked it with ehr not-extremely-hard beak.
