"On days like these, I just wanna have a picnic!" Exclaimed the young and tomboyish Karen Sway, as she let out a long stretch of her arms. Enjoying the feeling of the sun's warmth, a chirp of annoyance busted through as Crash's head poked out of her gigantic back pack that was being dragged against the smooth surface of the grass.
Nearby was a large lake with a huge bridge across from it, but in this weather with the sun beating down so hard, it didn't seem right to just waltz across the bridge. In fact, they were near the edge of the bridge already.
The small Zubat quietly scanned its surroundings before sliding back into the safe darkness of the backpack. Letting out an occasional grumble for every bump that they hit during their walk through the Second Route.
"You know...We might as well. I think we covered enough distance for now. " Karen said while halting in her walk, letting go of the backpacks handle to turn around and unzip a few of the pockets. Taking out a couple of Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches, that were still in their unopened plastic bags she plopped down on the ground and looked at her meal hungrily.
<Ugh, I knew I smelled something funny.> The Zubat groaned as he felt his stomach suddenly letting out a loose growl. "I guess your a little hungry to, don't you worry. I don't mind sharing some. Besides, we can always get more at the next Pokémon Center." She said with a giggle as she ripped open another bag, handing in to Crash who immediately went to work on his meal. Leaving her with half a sand which, and two others that were unopened.
"Better finish these quick!" Karen noted as she saw how fast Crash was eating through the hole, trying to get as many bites as she could so Crash wouldn't beg her for the rest.
((lolz, PBJ Eating Contest. ))

Something heart shaped sped out of the water, did a flip in midair, and landed in the lake with a splash.

Karen blinked a couple times before taking a huge swallow of the sticky peanut buttery goodness that slid down her throat. In fact, she could barley talk because there was still so much food in her mouth. The strange heart defiantly caught her eyes.
"Moof! A pokemon!" She blurted out as she sprung to her feet before tripping down on the ground as she was forced to swallow another bite of her food. Licking some of the peanut butter off of her teeth with her tongue quickly, so she could at least not choke.
<Say what?> Crash muttered as he forced his head out of the bag, but screeched at the blast of sunlight that came pouring in. Leaving Karen to let out a fake groan as she fumbled for another poke ball to battle the creature.
"You really are hopeless, you know that?" She asked with a playful smile as she took out a newer, and shiny poke ball. One that looks like it hadn't been opened for awhile.
"Well, I know our new teammate won't be! Come on out!" Karen said with an enthusiastic cheer as the poke ball popped open. The light slowly fading away to show the crystal feathers of her recent prize, a Crystal Murkrow.
"I know you don't have much battle experience, but theres a start for everything." The delighted young girl said with a wink, as the Murkrow just gave her a blank stare. Leaving Karen with a funny look on her face, before giving in to a sigh.
'He left me hangin'...She whined in her head before turning around to point at the Luvdisc in the water.
"Alright, Murkrow! Make your presence known and use leer."
Giving a small, but shy nod to acknowledge hearing its trainers orders the small bird obediently flew to the air as it headed out to face its first opponent. Once it had made its way in front of the Luvdisc, it greeted it with a disturbing Leer.
<Don't come crying to me if he loses...> Crash muttered as he glomped another bite of his sandwhich.

The luvdisc shivered from the uncouth leer, sinking further into the water to avoid the awful sight. Darn... looks like it got away....
But no! It broke free of the water at immense speed, flying towards the crystal murkrow with dark intensions. A tackle attack!

At first Karen let out a wave of dissapointment cover her face when she thought that their opponent had escaped. That would've made their efforts worthless, however both Karen and Murkrow were caught off guard as the Luvdisc jumped out of the water with a powerful tackle. Having no time to dodge, he took the blow and was almost sent crashing into the water with its opponent.
"Murkrow, peck it and get out of there!" Karen called, she knew that only out of the water that they could even hit the Luvdisc. It seemed like common sense that a Murkrow couldn't swim.
With the oppurtunity at hand, he let out a sharp peck out wildly at what was before him, at close-range he was sure that he would make contact before sliding off the creatures smooth body and evoiding the calm waters below. He seemed slightly shaken from the first tackle, and waited a couple of seconds for his senses to come back to him before looking around wearily for the next attack.

The luvdisk took the attack, being pushedback into the water at the same time. It's shook it's head as it floated under the water. The trainer and murkrow could be seen outside of the water. The luvdisk dashed out of the water with another tackle attack.

Seeing a sudden movement in the water, Murkrow let out a sudden gasp that alerted Karen to the Luvdisc's presence. They would have to act quickly if they wanted to hit their opponent.
"Dodge it! Quick!" Karen called, her voice filled with urgency as the new addition to the team picked up on it quickly. Managing to twist its own body to the right to make a swift dodge in mid-air. However, he was forced to watch in dissapointment as the Luvdisc landed back in the water. Now both of them were back to step one again, looking down at the water anxiously.
'That attack came close...I'm pretty sure that it can see us.' She thought as Karen walked up to the edge of the pond to get as best of a view as possible.
"Use Leer in the water." If she was correct then the leer should have some effect.

The leer was indeed successful, and luvdisc's defense was lowered. Teeming with annoyance, the heart shaped fish pokemon shot surfaced and shot water at the murkrow. Water gun!

The shot was a direct hit at the Murkrow, as the shot of water soaked him completely. His blue feathers dripping with water over the lake as he flew in circles to shake them off. Suddenly, to Karen's surprise he started to glow a strange color. (not, not evolution. =p) At first it could be easily mistaken for the sunlight on him, but it was much more lasting as most of his wounds were healed. Despite the damage that was already done.
"Oh, so that's a Moonlight...Its pretty." She commented as she gave another look at the Luvdisc, ready to go on the offensive.
"Get ready to peck at it when it comes out of the water." She commanded, as much as she hated playing cat and mouse, she didn't have much choice. Which is why she prepared beforehand with leer, so that way the game would be shortened a bit.

From under the water, the heart-shaped Pokémon looked up at the oddly-colored murkrow. That pesky little bird didn't look too strong... Relaxing its body, the luvdisk used an Agility before launching itself out of the water with a powerful tackle attack. However, the peck foiled the water pokemon's plan as it was sent back into the water by the rather sharp beak. Tiny air bubbles escaped to the surface as the Luvdisk grumbled and muttered to itself. A light bulb seemed to have appeared on top of its head as an idea formed.
Cautiously, the luvdisk broke the water surface again, peaking out and then promptly using a Charm attack.

A abra hovered above the water, just barely as the tips of its toes caused ripples to cross the water for a short distance, not far from the bridge. And speaking of this bridge, a robed figure walked toward it, his footsteps a rhythmic thump-click thump-click thump click...untill a single last thud heralded the fact He stopped, looking out toward the odd trainer.

((Ohcrapohcrap. >.< ))
With a small turn to her head, she watched the strange attack that came at her Murkrow curiously. Small hearts quickly went right into the crystal Pokemon's eyes, as he quickly fluttered about in slight shock from the move. However, he felt weaker. It didn't seem noticeable to Karen just yet however.
'No clue what move that was...It didn't seem to hurt my Murkrow much at least.' Thinking this with a small sigh, she went about with the same plan she had before. Assuming that that one attack was as useless as a splash attack.
"While its still out of the water, peck at it!" Karen quickly called, as her Murkrow quickly gave her a doubtful nod as he sprung into action. Knowing that his opponent was fast and would probally duck under water before he had a chance to even hit it. It was still worth a shot though.
Slowly though, she heard the most peculiar sound. The sound she recognized as heavy footsteps, of another person? Well, she didn't doubt it as this was a common route. The bridge was the easiest way on foot to get to the next city as well. Not wanting to be a pest, and still focus on the battle she remained in her position from the edge of the lake.

Luvdisc had been out of the water as it spotted the Murkrow rushing at it. Luvdisc quickly used an Agility attack and began to rush over the water hoping to splash the Murkrow. The Luvdisc put itself in an angle so that the water would splash upward toward the Murkrow hoping it would blur its vision.
As the water had been still been in the air Luvdisc jumped up once more and tried to take down Murkrow.

The water had successfully hit the Crystal Pokémon square in the eyes, it fluttered about as it struggled to get the water out of its eyes while keeping in the air. It didn't take a genius to figure out what would happen next.
"Get outta there Murkow! Fly up! Up!" She called frantically as she wished her Murkrow to dodge the tackle in time. It would prove to be difficult to dodge an Agility powered Tackle, but it was possible. However, the Murkrows inexperience in battles shown as it failed to hear its trainer over its own cries of panic. The Luvdisc had tackled it, feeling the wind being stolen from its lungs as the two Pokémon were taken down into the water.
As quickly as it had been knocked into the water, the limp body of Murkrow floated up into the surface. Swirls of exhaustion in its eyes as it had fainted on the water. Letting one more moan of pain before Karen took out its poke ball and successfully returning it. Sending a glare at the Luvdisc in the water before taking out another poke ball.
"You did fine Murkrow. We'll finish this right now!" She shouted with even more confidence than the last time when she battled with Murkrow. Annoyance clearly shown in her eyes and body language as the next of her team came out.
"Sophia, lets take out that Luvdisc!" She called as the small Elekid popped out of its poke ball, Karen smoothly collected the poke ball as the eager Pokémon went into battle. Rotating its arms over and over to generate the right amount of electricity. The small plugs on its head soon cackled of electricity, an attempt to intimidate its opponent.

The Luvdisc fainted on the spot, the intimidation worked.

(( >.< Dangit! I do that to almost everyone. Seriously, I can't help it. I'm roleplaying with myself basically. x3 The trainer and the pokemon. ))
Giving one small look over at the luvdisc before turning to face her small Elekid that stared at her. Wondering what her trainer would say or do next, though it didn't paticulary matter to her. Humans were something she didn't want to think to hard about. "Elekid." <Done.> It wasn't much, but the pokemon felt compelled to say something before giving her trainer a raised eyebrow.
"You did great, thanks for finishing the battle up." Karen said, noticing the strange looks the small pokemon was giving her, and actually felt nervious from it. Eagerly, she took out the pokeball and returned Sophia.
"Okay, how was that Crash? Um, Crash?" The teen-aged girl blinked twice after hearing no reply from the small Zubat. Walking back over to her backpack she tapped the opening. As if she was knocking at a friends front door.
"Hey....You alright?" Curiously she peeked in to see an overstuffed Zubat, and crumbs all over bottom of the backpack. "Zuuuuuu....." The creature moaned as Karen let out a long sigh, before noticing that Crash had eaten all of the food!
"You ate all of it?! I can't believe you!" She cried as she sent another glare at the Zubat before wrapping up everything around them, and stuffing them right next to Crash. He let out a small squeak in surprise as he poked his head out of the small opening at the top.
"Well, were moving out. Maybe if were lucky we'll find a couple of berries to last the rest of the gang until we make it to the pokemon center." Karen said with a small growl in her voice, feeling rather upset with the bat-like pokemon. Quickly she headed on her way across the bridge, right past the strange man and his Abra with a distraught look on her face.

A small, doglike pokemon was poised on the other side of the bridge, staring into the water. ::poochyena::
(don't blame me, blame the random pokemon generator)

"Zubat....Zu zu!" The small bat pokemon cried as he eagerly poked one of his small wings out of the opening. Pointing at the small pokemon up ahead on the bridge. It was strange to see pokemon like this around here, as the typical thing was water pokemon.
"Hm? Now what...?" Karen asked with a grumpy tone to her voice, of course she would be a little grumpy. She was on her way to the pokemon center and couldn't quite cross the huge bridge without seeing more pokemon. However, this caught her off-guard. The small pokemon up front looked lonely, in a sense to her. She didn't need a pokedex to know what this creature was.
"A Poochyena? Wow, I wonder if it has a trainer." Speaking her thoughts outloud she walked up to the small pokemon, though it was strange with the height difference; she'd rather not be in for an awful surprise by startling the pokemon.

The Abra floated over toward the Poochyena, makeing curious sounds dispite its own abilitys and a short, almost a second long chuckle escaped the lips of the figure before He again become slient. " I could offer you food, but that would entirely matter if you could trust one such as me in such a matter. "

Seeing the small Abra floating up to the Poochyena, who had to be near the same size she turned to face the stranger. Maybe the Pokémon did belong to someone, instinctively she backed off as she eyed the same person that was watching her earlier.
"Food? Its really not necessary. " She said, though of course it was also because of how shady the man looked. He seemed to be a little old to be a new trainer. Then again, how did she know how long this stupid bridge would be? It could be helpful... Karen shook these thoughts as she reminded herself that she just ate. Truth be told, she didn't want to look like a beggar; to anyone.
(This board is dead. Might as well close it. I'll make another. I seriously doubt Vincent will reply now. )
