The Machop babbled off again in pokespeak, but body language was understood by all species. His stance was enough for her to know he - She? It? - would battle; his facial expression was enough for her to kind of guess that the it was rather cocky about its chances. But then, considering the conditions he was working out in and she was dying in... Well, that was to be expected. Just by type advantages, she figured that this would be a quick and easy battle. She was probably wrong - her being a rookie trainer and all - but it was a comforting thought. Either way, she had two psychic type Pokemon on her team. Her Mime Jr. needed 9 more levels before it could evolve; 8 before it would learn the required Mimic, and 1 so it could finally evolve. Granted, Illusionist needed the training more, considering he was a whooping twenty six levels away, but she didn't feel all that patient.
"Go, Mrs. Mime! Use Meditate, then use Confusion on the Machop!" Her female Mime Jr. jumped out of her pokeball, eager for the battle. She didn't fully understand the use of Meditate, as she had never used it before; as such, it raised her attack, but it didn't raise it by much. She then sent a Confusion attack towards her wild opponent.
((Blech. I have no idea how a Confusion works, and didn't feel like getting creative >.>; )

The Meditate attack used by the Mime Jr. didn't really help the Confusion all that much, it only raised its normal attack, not the special one. Still, the fact that it was a super effective attack made the Machop clutch his head in pain as the psychic blast went through him. What annoyed him was that he couldn't even see where the attack was coming from, but at least he knew who his target was.
By scrunching up its muscles together, and using a similar fighting boosting move as his opponent did, the humanish Pokémon visibly relaxed in a deep concentration. Focus Energy gave him the ability to use more accurate punches and kicks, or something like that. Knowing that the attack was completed, he ran forward in a charge towards his opponent, first with his fist, but then switched quickly to his foot in a Low Kick. It was attempting to trick the Psychic type, but this was a new trick it learned, and this was the first time it tried it out.

Mrs. Mime had been what she considered to be extremely clever; instead of expending all the energy to dodge to the side on the fiery surface, she just ducked. However, her plan backfired completely, as that gave the Machop access to basically her entire body when his foot collided with her. She squealed in pain as she was thrown off to the side. And... I could have done that myself and been spared of the pain. The small psychic Pokemon sighed, but stood up, slowly, and rubbed a particularly bad bruise that was blooming her left side. She narrowed her eyes at the Machop, now determined to defeat it at any cost. Alaina was about to tell her to repeat the "combo" from their last move, thinking that it had been the Meditate, not the type advantage, that had caused most of the super effectiveness of her attack. Misses wasted no time with the attack she knew was useless with her current move set, and chose not to repeat any of it. She wasn't the best battler yet, but didn't think that repetitiveness would work too well - not with this Machop, at least. It was too clever to fall for the same thing twice. So instead, she decided to attempt to confuse it - though, not literally. She ran towards it using her own Low Kick! True, it wouldn't do much damage, the Machop being a fighting type and all, but it worked better on heavier foes, and he was certainly much heavier than she was. Besides, the use Copycat instead of Confusion had to be worth something...

Actually, fighting attacks do normal damage on Fighting types. Which would be a plesant surprise on Mrs. Mime 's and Alaina's part. Recieving a nice kick in the gut made the Machop kneel over in surprise, it sure wasn't expecting its own attack used against it like that.
Was it chance that it knew the attack? It wondered as the male stood back up. Cautiously dusting itself off, in case the Pokemon decided to rush forward while it was readying itself for another attack.
<Not too shabby.> He called over, before turning his body to a fighting stance. His eyes glittered in an orange glow, attempting to give the Mime Junior something to worry about as a frightening Leer was sent across the battle area. Since Mrs. Mime knew some fighting moves, he decided to hold back for the moment and see what she would throw at him.
