Route one was a huge bore, and not to mention, filled with other rookie trainers whom he just couldn't stand to be around. Keeva was a man of experiance and expertise. A three time league champion wasn't abou to lower himself to the pitiful trainers who had never even seen what a true battle was, ones that had never risked their very life for their companions, nor ones that had never seen one die.
That was the reality of this world, of the duty Trainers had. It wasn't just about getting badges and making the pokemon strong... that was all a fascade to hide the truth. Pokemon did bleed, they hunted eachother, they hated and loved, and they, ultimately, were the ones who accomplished everything on the journey. And even then, they were the quiet ones that never took the glory from their humans. Perhaps he and his sister were the only ones like that out there, cynical, realistic. Yet she was an optimist, while he... most of the time a pessimist. No wonder he didn't get along with her, or like her much at all.
Once off the beaten path of the first route, he ventured off into what looked like unmapped areas of forest... probably for a reason. Whatever reason, Keeva didn't care. Where there was cover, there were wild pokemon, and that was opportunities to battle that he would not pass up. Snow didn't fall on the forest floor, as the trees above were so broad and thick it didn't allow it. He doubted sunlight even reached down here more than the occasional patch or two, which would explain the lack of shrubbery. Leaves crunched as he walked forth on his two, heavy feet. Eerie walked but inches above the ground soundlessly. Today, he had Katje and Cael put away. Eerie was his eyes and ears for things he couldn't see or hear, but she could. Snowscape would have been out... but he made enough noise as it were. Four prancing hooves would not help.
"Unusually quiet..."
The Morph-man commented to his Eon. An obvious observation.. but it was unsettling.
"We are in territory that not many Men step into... there is tension." The angelique mental voice replied to him.
Silence once more fell between the two as they walked on. Hopefully, here, there were more challenges.

Staring out at the arrivals, a small pair of eyes scanned their every move from a nearby bush. It moved ever so slightly forward to try and get a better look, but in doing so, it snapped a twig lying on the ground. <Damnit, they know I'm here now> a voice cursed to itself.

Eerieon's long ears twitched, and her head snapped to the source of the sound. Eyes which could see into other dimensions focused, but as of yet nothing appeared
"We are under watch," Said the purple, three-tailed fox with a wicked little grin. "Two can play with this."
Keeva laughed softly, knowing exactly what she meant by that. In an instant, the Eerieon was gone, having faded away into absolutely nothing it seemed, and soundlessly, she crept towards the source of the sound, to whatever Pokémon made it. Ahh, there it was! The Eon floated behind the thing, invisable, silent. Then she slowly faded back into existance, with yet again the same silence as she had traveled with. The only thing now that would give her away would be the dancing flames around her neck. If the Pokémon turned around, she would be staring it in the face.

The pokemon hiding in the bush soon began to feel the presence of another and quickly turn around slowly to look over its back. <What the!> The mysterious pokemon shouted, also known as a Houndour, in shock of the Eerieon staring into it's face. <Get back!>/b] The Houndour growled, trying to threaten the unknown pokemon.

Eerieon giggled playfully and danced in the air around it, dainty little paws not once touching the earth.
"Are you afraid, little puppy?" Her sweet, angelique voice would ring inside the Pokemon's head, as well as Keeva's.
Mystic, deep eyes would finally meet with the fire-dog's and hold the stare for a while, before giving it a playful headbutt. She wasn't trying to engage a fight, really, but she knew the short temper on these dogs, and was ready to zip out of the way incase of an attack.

The Houndour growled slightly as the Pokemon talked to it. <Of course I'm not afraid> it growled, hesitating at the headbutt. He didn't really know how to proceed with this one. On the one hand, it could defeat the strange Pokemon because by the look of it, it was a Ghost type and it had at least one dark attack up it's sleeve, so it could win. But on the other, it didn't seem as though the Pokemon wanted to fight. Taking a deep breath, the Houndour asked <Who are you and what do you want?>

"That was precisely what we were wanting to know," Replied Keeva, perhaps to the Houndour's surprise. His scent was mostly human, but a feint Mightyena musk lingered with it. Quietly, he walked up to the wild thing, wolfish ears twitching curiously.
"We felt your presence and decided to investigate."
Eerie just laughed gently, continuing her little prance infront of the Houndour. "Do not mind Keeva. He is a grumpy Mightyena, but sweet inside. I am Eerie, the Eerieon, and I post no threat to you." At last, the ghostly creature calmed itself and sat down, though still hovering just above the solid earth. "We've come through these forests in order to train worthy opponents. Would you take my Human's challenge?" He head tilted. She would not be fighting something like that, even if she were a higher level. The others of the team needed the experiance more, and she knew her weaknesses and limits.
Keeva slid one hand into his pocket, and the other rested on his belt of Pokeballs, all full of Pokemon ready to fight. "And I would not capture you, if you fear that. I have enough on my team for now."

There was a slight smile on the Houndour's face as he listened. These people didn't seem so bad to him, not to mention that there was a blush on his face while thinking of Eerie. Eventually, he said <Alright, I'll accept your challenge. But...> He walked over to Keeva and whispered <I kinda...like your Pokemon. She's cute.>

"Whisper or not, pup, I hear even your thoughts." Eerie warned as she glided over to Keeva's side, the innocent look replaced by something a little more serious and disapproving. Keeva simply laughed it off and plucked a Pokeball from his belt, releasing the creature inside.
"To your luck, Houndour, I don't have any that you would be incredibly weak against, so perhaps this will be evenly matched." Said the wolf-man as the young Velocirin emerged from the light. It screeched and tapped it's two large toe-claws against the ground as he sized up his opponent. Even Keeva had a hard time handling t his primitive youngster, but he was excited to see what it could do.
"Scratch," He commanded, and with such agility he had only seen in electric types, the Raptor was pouncing at the Houndour, claws extended, both figners and toes.

Taking a few seconds to examine the Pokemon before him, his face showing approval of the other Dark type. He thought it was a little funny looking, but truely didn't mind. That is, until he realized how fast the Velocrin had came up to him, his face was blank, but he was very startled.
Its so fast, I never would've imagined...
The claws came fast across his face, some of the marks were deep and had even drew blood. He remained unfazed by this though, though the stinging sensation was urging him to at least clean the wound. Unsure if a simple Ember attack would make its mark, the Houndour decided to play it safe and let out a dark Smog attack.

The Raptor seemed curious of this smoggy cloud that was now surrounding him, and in all honesty, it didn't bother him much. A little cough was given, and sharp eyes narrowed. Yes, this would be a challenge, not being able to see his opponent clearly more than the smokey stuff getting into his lungs. But, the raptor had his own ways of detecting where the enemy was. He stood still, slightly wavering side to side, and each huge toe-claw was pressed lightly against the ground. Much like any reptile can, he was picking up on the smallest of vibrations to figure out the position of his opponent.
"Breathe shallow until it clears," Commanded Keeva calmly, back to using human language so the Houndour wouldn't forsee his strategies at all. "Quick attack when you find it."
If the scratch had been as fast as it was, then the quick attack would prove to be a record breaker. At last, the Velocirin stopped his swaying and went stiff for a moment. Target spotted. Like a bolt of lightning he was off towards the Houndour through the smog, head lowered to ram it quickly before darting away again.
Keeva grinned and Eerie smiled with satisfaction. Ahh... the reptilian species were always a glorious wonder.

While the Houndour was covered in the Smog attack, his eyes and ears shot up as the sudden Quick Attack stuck against his side. It didn't hurt as much as the Scratch attack, but he had no idea that the Velocrin was nearby. He had been the one thinking he would strike first, not the reptile.
His sturdy body made light footprints as the Smog began to steadily and dissolve into the air around them. It wasn't a weather condition like Sandstorm or Rain Dance, so he wasn't surprised. He sighed in frustration when he noticed that the Smog had done little damage on the giant dinosaur looking Pokemon. He didn't feel too confident in it, but he let out a couple of Ember's at the Velocrin.

Alpha screeched as the little embers caught fire to some of the feathered and furred parts of his body. It just made him mad more than hurt. After rolling around awkwardly to put the flames out, the little raptor glowered and leered at the canine.
"Alpha, stay calm. Focus." Said Keeva in the Pokelanguage. Otherwise, the reptile probably wouldn't listen to him. "Now then, Scratch, again." Once again, on the second of the command the tiny raptor bolted at the Houndour with claws ready, and deadly teeth ready to poison this canine if he saw fit. Why listen to the trainer all the time? Humans, even if they were part Pokemon, didn't always know what was best in battle..

The Houndour paused, taking in the sight of Alpha struggling with his ember attack. It sure didn't look like it was a super effective strike, but it seemed as if his opponent took a bit of damage. Most likely, he thought, that it never fought against a fire type before. So chances were that his next attack wouldn't hurt as much, the Velocrin would be somewhat used to the attack.
A sharp wave of goosebumps trailed along the dark types skin, covered by his black fur so only he would be aware of his lowered defense. This time he was more aware of what was to come, Scratch...Yeah, that's what he went through at the beginning of the fight. His speed was outclassed as the Velocrin's claws pierced through his fur and skin, wincing a bit as he pushed the pain out of his mind, he let out a Smog attack.

I suppose each can only do so much. Boring it may be, but neccisary. Keeva thought to himself as the suffocating smog once more surrounded them, this time it seemed thicker though. And, perhaps the Houndour would be more cautious in his steps as not to make a bunch of vibrations. It seemed unfair of the speed advantage Alpha had over this canine. He'd give the fire-pup a chance. That only seemed fair.
"Just say when, pup, and I'll accept your surrender." Called out the trainer with a light laugh.
Alpha wasn't having such an easy time. Again he was coughing from the smog, and it stung his eyes terribly this time. The raptor pressed his head down against the ground, attempting to rub the smog from his eyes and face.

He snorted in response to Keeva, not even bothering to say anything verbal in response. There was no way that he'd take an offer like that, and as if to prove his point he let out a large Howl. Boosting not only his spirit, but his attack power as well. It was a deep cry that echoed throughout the Smog covered forest, and as the Houndour's cry faded into the distance, so did the smog.
Giving off a toothy grin, the Houndour ran forward with puffed up cheeks, most likely holding in air in order to let out another Smog, or Ember. It was anyones guess on what would come out of a mouth like his. This time he picked his more offensive of the two moves, Ember, at Alpha.

Alpha didn't seem to pleased at this point. The heavy Raptor pride within would not allow such a defeat to simply slide. And the prehistoric spirit told him to fight until he was the last standing. His semi-feathered head raised with the sound and vibrations of the pup running towards him, and his eyes narrowed. Keeva was about to pipe up and order a command, but before he could, he was off, rushing straight at the Houndour to counter with Quick Attack. Although he had to go through the flames to do this, it was worth it. With such speed they died out faster than they could burn. Alpha screeched again, perhaps his own version of a howl, and once more Leered at the canine.
Keeva simply shook his head and sighed. This damn creature would not be controlled it seemed.

Getting knocked back by the Quick Attack, the Houndour forced himself to get into his original position. Appearing to be the dominant fighter, and not wanting to look hesitant for even a second. Ignoring the leer that Alpha gave him, he countered with his own. Now having a small stand off between two Leer attacks.
His eyes were a murky looking yellow, that pierced right through whatever shadow's that may have been covering the forest due to the tree's. Unwilling to break this eye contact with the dinosaur creature,he put another foot forward. Glaring harder than ever into one big staring contest.

Alpha could play this game well. He stared only harder and moved closer step by step - slowly. His own piercing yellow eyes were intense, but almost seemed dead in a way. A Primal something about them, much more wild than pokemon in the deepest jungles. A fire burned behind them, yet still, it was hard to see more than instinct behind that. Soon it would be Alpha and the Houndour almost face to face, simply staring and growling at eachother, and Keeva couldn't help but question his skill at this point. Perhaps he could train any other Pokemon, but the dinosaur just wouldn't do anything. Well, he wasn't one to give up.
"Now, scratch while you're so close," The wolf-man commanded, much more authority in his tone this time.
Alpha snapped out of the staring contest and sprang at the pup with the deadly talons again.
