Hiding out of sight, Chris lightly threw a Smoke Ball into the area, causing a large amount of smoke to billow out and hide his entrace. By the time the smoke cleared, his cape was fluttering out past his side and his sword was held lightly in his hand, pointing towards the floor in a diagonal direction. "I'm here for a Gym battle" he declared.

Rina giggled softly, covering her mouth with a dainty hand. "One-on-one, or two-on-two?" Despite her age, the ten year old was serious about her gym battles, if little else. In her free hand, she clutched a trio of pokeballs. She wasn't sure which she'd use yet - that depended on the strange challenger's pokemon.

"Not really sure to be honest" Chris admitted, letting Abel and Dark Frost take their places next to him. "We can do whichever, though two on two would be better. These two will be my start off duo. Who will yours be?"

Dark eyes studied the two pokemon carefully. One pokeball was shifted to her other hand, while the other two were tossed. "Dewy and Walter, can I count on you two?"
Slowly inching their way to the pool, the Walrein and Dewgong nodded at their young master, before shifting their focus to their foes. Rina grinned. "Challenger gets the first move."

"And I know just how to start it off" Chris laughed, looking at his recently evolved Charizard. "Okay Abel, into the air and attack Walrein with Flamethrower. Dark Frost, get close to Dewgong with Faint Attack, and then use Night Slash." As his Charizard sent a stream of crystalline flame at Walrein, Chris felt satisfied. After all, Abel had been working extremely hard to learn that move. But he wondered why the flame appeared crystal, like the Charizard, although he figured that since his Charizard was a Crystal Pokemon since it was a Charmander, so the stone probably affected his flames too. Obviously, the flame was no more powerful than normal as well.

Walrein's thick layer of blubber insulated it from the flames, attack not dealing as much damage as it normally would. It laughed heartily to itself, proud of it's fat. Dewgong wasn't as fortunate - due to faint-attack, it couldn't pinpoint it's foe's location until Dark Frost was nearly on top of it, hacking away with Night Slash. Blood flowed into the pool, tainting the water a murky crimson.
Rina felt tears welling up in her eyes, but said nothing about the condition of her precious Dewgong. "Okay guys, water gun and icy wind!"
Although injured, Dewgong was still speedier than Walrein. It sent a flurry of ice and snow at both opponents, trying to slow both of them. Walrein lazily fired a jet of water at Abel, not bothering to check his aim.

Chris said to Rina "Your Dewgong will be fine. After the battle, I'll personally tend to her wounds. But right now, we need to fight." Abel easily performed an aerial spin, dodging the water gun before bearing down on Walrein with a Slash attack. Dark Frost, on the other hand, felt the numbing wind injure him (though not that much), lowering his movement speed. Regardless, he went in for a double Night Slash attack, his claws growing longer and turning pitch black, giving the appearance of blades.

Abel's sharp claws pierced Walrein's thick blubber, tearing in deep. It winced, trying not to show too much pain to it's young trainer. But still - it couldn't ignore the droplets of blood that seeped out of the fresh wounds. Annoyed, it fired a water-gun at close ranger.
Dewgong fared far worse. It cried out, backpeddling in the water to try to escape Dark Frost's razor sharp claws. Rina's face softened a bit, watching her two pokemon on the receiving end of claw-driven attacks. It was hard for her to speak, afraid of her own, cracking voice. She didn't want to cry in front of yet another challenger...

Abel was struck hard by the Water Gun, crying out in pain as he was hit. Chris, on the other hand, felt happy that he was feeling the water's pain, as he liked the water, regardless of how much it hurt him and Abel. Dark Frost had already disappeared from Dewgong's view and was behind it, launching another double Night Slash barrage.

Walrein cracked a cocky grin, glad he'd hit the Charizard at last. Feeling far more confident, a second water-gun was launched at Abel, the powerful stream of crystal-clear water speeding through the air rapidly.
Dewgong had picked up on the foe's strategy, and managed to dodge one of the furious slashes by diving into the pool. Exhausted, it looked to it's trainer for guidance.
Rina scrunched up her face, observing the damage. "Aqua ring, Dewgong! Recover some of your HP!" Her bubbly voice echoed off the barren gym walls.
Dewgong wasted no time in executing Rina's wishes. Rings of water criss-crossed it's milky white body, revitalizing more with every minute that passed.

This time, Abel managed to dodge the Water Gun, spinning around it before flying in for a Slash attack. Dark Frost had wasted no time in leaping forward and going for a mix of Ice Punch and Night Slash.

Rina tensed. Her chocolate eyes watched in horror as Abel's sharp claws tore through Walrein's thick layers of fat. Deep wounds covered his body, making it excruciating for him to move. But still, he refused to give up. With an indignant glare in Abel's direction, he fired off another water-gun. Perhaps this time his aim would be better.
Deep under the surface of the pool, Dewgong was still recovering. It was able to dodge the ice punch, and as it neared the surface to check out what was going on, it was hit by Night Slash. It sunk to the bottom of the pool, and fell unconscious. Rina was silent as she recalled it, and pulled out her last pokeball.
"Laine, lets go! Icy Wind!" She tried to sound enthusiastic for her pokemon's sake, but it was hard. A tough Swinub emerged from the new pokeball, unleashing a furious icy-wind attack.

Another direct hit was scored on Abel, causing Chris to return the Pokemon before it could do anything else. As Dark Frost dodged the Icy Wind by diving underwater, Chris released Buzzshock, who eagerly jumped into the water and began to swim around. "This is no time for swimming!" Chris informed Buzzshock. "Now use Thunderbolt on Walrein. Dark Frost, you use Ice Punch on the new arrival!" The two gave a nod and instantly leapt forward for the attack. Dark Frost no longer had two attacks to work with, but he now had the power of the Dread Plate backing him up.

Feeling goosbumps appear all over her body, the young girl became tired of waiting around for some kind of miracle to happen. She knew now that the Thunderbolt was a very dangerous threat that needed to be stopped. First thing was first, weaking the attack. Even if the Pikachu was probably at a higher level, since the rest of Chris's team was strong, she had to pull through this.
"Walter, defend yourself with Ice Ball! Laine, get in an Oder Sleuth as soon as possible." She commaned, though very shaken about how the previous round worked out. She could tell that Walter was weakened after the onslaught of attacks from Dark Frost and Abel.
Despite the pain of previous attacks, he was beginning to cope with the pain. The air from the previous Icy Wind gave the air a strange chill, and helped with numbing his wounds. Forming a thick yet small ball of ice in his mouth, he launched it straigh at the Thunderbolt. Which really didn't do much, so much electricity caused it to melt, and the remaining sparks had done quite a bit of damage to him. Still, it could've been worse. Giving Buzzshock a glare, a bigger piece of Ice Ball was beginning to form in his mouth, though it wouldn't be released yet. He needed time...
The Swinub wasn't nearly as lucky, having no way to protect itself against the Icy hit, the small Pokemon was thrown back. But not before creating a smelly sweat onto its fur upon contact, now Dark Frost would be laced with its scent, and its chances of getting a hit would be improved. Still, some things were impossible in situations like this. The small advantage it gained made it shudder, it rrally had no idea how long it would survive these attacks. Even if only being sent out a few minutes ago.

"Alright Buzzshock, this is going extremely well" Chris said with a smile. "Now, use Thunderbolt again! Dark Frost, use Ice Punch one more time!" The two unleashed their attacks once more, really getting into the battle now.

Walter was rather clow on reacting to this Thunderbolt, for he had an even bigger chunk of ice to build in its mouth. He figured it would be well worth it once he let it out though, and he did with a surprising force. Considering the last attack, after all. This one was aimed straight at the Electric attack, and put a bigger struggle on the fight for dominance, however the same effect was acheived. Except less sparks phased through to him, and the giant Walrein was left panting with exhaustion.
"Its okay Walter, just keep at it!" Rina encouraged, despite the mountain of doubts that hung over her head. The giant Ice type wasn't convinced, but began the process of forming another Ice Ball for the next turn.
"Laine, Endure it!" Rina called, knowing that it was the only safe attack that could be used. The Swinub oblidged, and took in more damage than could normally be taken. Enduring just to whatever Hp it could hold on to due to the level difference. How it wished it was a nice, big Piloswine. Then it could stand more of a chance...

Smiling, Chris knew what was going to come next. So now, he knew the thing she wouldn't expect would be... "Buzzshock, Dark Frost, SWITCH!" he commanded. Obediently, the two smiled and switched targets. Buzzshock leapt onto the Walrein's Ice Ball and jumped off of it so it could get a better view of Swinub. From there, he attempted a Slam attack while Dark Frost attempted a Night Slash on Walrein.

Gasping in fear for her Pokemon, Rina scrambled to think of ideas. What could she do? Walter was too caught up in charging an even bigger Ice Ball to really think about the incoming Night Slash, and Laine was left with little HP left. At least she had the type advantage this time, maybe the swinub had a chance to dodge it. After all, Slam was a pretty straight forward attack.
Sensing no time to save Walter from destruction, she moved on to what she could handle. "Laine, dodge it and use Mud Slap!" She ordered, panic in her voice as the order was cried out. The swinub caught on to the urgency, and picked a random direction to jump to, and narrowly dodged the powerful Slam attack. Fearful, it let out a Mudslap in the area where Buzzshock would've landed.
Rina turned to see what happened to Walter, and found that she was right. The Night Slash had turned out to be much more deadly than she assumed. For there he lay, unable to move from such deep slash marks in his giant body. Sighing, she took out his Pokeball to return him in a safe beam of light. She had never battled such an intense battle before, and looked over to Chris with impressed eyes.
"Not bad, but it isn't over yet." She tried to sound confident, but that certainly wasn't the case.

"Wrong, it's ending soon" Chris laughed, watching Buzzshock get hit by Mud Slap. He quickly returned the Pikachu and brought Arceus onto the field. "Now Arcane, use Psychic!" he commanded. The legendary quickly used Psychic in an attempt to lift Laine into the air. Dark Frost then attacked with Night Slash.

Aqua now paled at the sight of the God Pokemon that stood before them, though Laine didn't know what it was actually fighting, but from the looks and sounds of his trainer, this was something big. The Psychic attack slowly slipped around his small body, and found himself unable to move, all he could do is cry out as he found himself getting higher and higher into the air.
Aqua honestly had no idea what to do, not like this. She could have Laine endure it as much as possible, but even that attack lost its worth after a while. Chances were, it wouldn't last long. She could try and weaken them as long as possible, see if they had the patience to knock out her Swinub.
"Endure it...All of it." She called out, watching her Swinub shudder as all of its energy was brought out once again. Keeping it consious and well enough to fight as the Night Slash struck him. How long could any of this last? The Gym Leader seemed certain of making it last as long as possible, despite what Chris had said earlier.
