Andy padded along the shore of Agonu Lake. He looked at the water and supposed he could swim for some strength training but there were no waves. No waves meant no struggle. Eventually he sighed and just lay down on the ground.
"Better to just wait for a fight I can win," Andy muttered to himself. He closed his eyes and to anyone who would sneak up on him he looked like he was asleep. The "eyes" on his tail however, were looking out and he'd know when someone came by.

A tiny Rattata that had been rumaging for food stopped to look at the Aipom resting at the base of the lake. A couple hesitant sniffs from the distance let him know right off the bat that the Aipom wasn't faking his sleep, and went back to scampering on the swaying blades of grass. Dancing around his soft fuzz, a bright purple that stood out against the scenery of a bright blue sky, and the vast horizon that led to more distant parts of The Wild.
His size told all, really. With skinny little legs, and a tail that was smaller than his own body length, he wasn't all that strong. And he was nearly an adult Rattata, a shameful thing that often caused him to distance himself from his family. As it was natural for everyone to look down on the runt of the litter, just as it was to leave him scavenging for scraps during their large meals. Their parents tried their best with him, but they had much higher hopes for the strongest of his brothers and sisters. There simply wasn't much left for him.
Ah! But his luck was changing quickly, because a Pecha berry had fallen from a berry bush. Looking up at the bush with a curious gaze to see even more delightful goodies that he couldn't quite reach. But what a feast was down with him already! Only a hungry growl from his stomach let him know that it was time to eat, and took a great big bite out of the sweet tasting berry.

Andy used the "eyes" on his tail to watch the Rattata. It looked like some easy prey. Perhaps this fight would make him stronger. Andy straightened up and scurried after Rattata. The hunt begins he thought as he ran toward his next victim. He could already almost feel stronger. He was certain he could beat the purple rat with ease and take another step toward being the ultimate Pokemon.

The Rattata had just finished his Pecha berry, but wasn’t satisfied about it. A sigh escaped his lips as he stared longingly at the berry bush above him. A giant horde of berries lingering up in the sky, not even close to reach its contents. A luscious Pecha berry looked ripe right above him, eager to fall any second, it appeared.
Opening his mouth into an eager smile, the Rattata was back on all fours with a tail shaking as eager as a puppy. Staring up into the depths of the bush wait for what was to come. A gentle breeze blew against the bush, messing up some of his fur a bit, and shaking the Pecha berry right off of its branch and onto the ground below. He was fast in reacting to the new meal, diving with a happy grin as he took a bite out of it. Hungrily he munched through the juices and fruity flavor, his passion for food burning even harder than ever.
By the time he looked up, his face was a new shade of pink. Stained by the juices that he was happy to lick off of his face. It would take a while for the coloring to go away, but for now he could just remember the taste of the berry every time he licked his lips. Delicious.
