Rain poured down into the mountain. Gray clouds circled overhead for miles, lighting the almost pitch black forest below with lightening and killing the silence of night with rumbles of thunder.
A girl in her teens screamed loudly though it was drowned out in the storm. "Go into your pokeball Kanti! You're a fire type pokemon! I don't want you hurt!" A zoom in on the scene would show a 14 year old girl drenched from head to toe in water. At her feet stood a shivering Vulpix that looked half scared and half angry. In the girl's hand was a pokeball. "Just get in it!"
Kanti was drenched and she felt horrible but she refused the pokeball. She hated being away from her trainer in case something to happen. She also hated being confined. Instead she shook her head and sat down refusing to go inside.
"Fine!" Kimmie yelled once more. "Let's go find shelter at least for peats sake! She was crying with anger and worry over her pokemon. She watched with watery, hazel eyes as the vulpix nodded. She picked up her companion and ran as fast as she could to anywhere. She had lost the path so long ago there was no hope of finding it again until the storm pasted.
The girl had no idea where she was going or what was in front of her. Every so often a small spit of fire from Kanti or a streak of lightening would light her a way in the dark. Then it happened, the vary thing she knew would but wished it wouldn't, not now. She meet up with a huge rain puddle. Slipping head first into the mud she accidentally flung her friend to who knows where. "Nooo!" She blurted out before she hit the ground.
She attempted to stand fast to search for the weak pokemon she knew so well but she just went right back into the mud. Whether from going to fast, or a lose shoe lace, who knew? She no longer held back her tears as she was blind in a unknown place without her best friend and even if she were there she would be to weak to be comforting in her first major storm away from home.
Kanti was flung from Kimmie's arms and landed in a distant puddle. "Vul, vul."<Here, here> It called but the thunder drowned her out. Then she sent out a small ember in hopes to be seen.
Kimmie noticed right away and half swan and half crawled through the mud to her partner. "Thank goodness you're alright. I'm sorry. Not only am I a klutz but if you had fainted we would of last said to each other words of anger. Now I'll be more careful." She spoke as clear as she could as she sniffled and cried.
She stood up slower and it seemed to do the trick. Then off the two went, back into the darkness though not for long. A clearing ahead approached them and in the middle of it stood a seemingly long but forgotten castle. Smiles spread across their faces until another rumbled awoke their dreams. They dashed to the door and pushed open the old, wooden, and creaky door into their shelter for the time being.

Tears was dripping down pale pink cheeks. The small skitty wasn't doing so well in this storm. She sobbed into Roran's arm as the rain pelted down even harder. The lightning was what really scared her. A tree had been shot down and burst into flames nearby so with every new flash, she cowered lower, afraid that one might fall on her or her dear Roran. The skitty could hear Roran say her name every so often just to comfort her. It actually helped somehow. Even though her eyes were closed, she could picture his lips and the soft and kind word slipping out of them. 'Dawn...' As comforting as it was, she could hear the terror he let escape in his voice.
Roran didn't mind the rain and he surely didn't mind the lightning. The true terror was from the thunder. If it so much as sounded, he would collapse to the ground, imobilized. The only thing that kept him going was his desire to find shelter and his pokemon. He had to escape fast. His pace quickened as he spotted something off in the distance. It looked like a castle. Perhaps it was sound proof and perhaps he could get to it before more thunder sounded. The second wouldn't come true.
The thunder sounded and the moment it reached his ears, Roran fell to the ground. His hands covered his ears and he began to tremble. Tears even spilled out his own eyes. Thankfully he didn't fall on poor Dawn even if he'd been carrying her. He curled up into a ball as the tears kept comming. Just like before, a growlithe began to tug on his sleve.
<You've got to keep moving. If we run for that castle, we might make it before any more thunder> Kenji growled as he tugged harder. He knew quite well about Roran's fear and tried to motivate him to move. It was hard work but he had to do it. <On three.> Kenji got ready to run as Roran started to stumble up, Dawn still in his arms. Before Kenji could even start counting down, Roran bolted towards the castle. He had to make it. He wasn't very strong for a boy or even a girl so running was difficult. His legs pumped and pumped until they began to burn.
Just when they felt like they might finally fall off, they reached the castle. Shelter. The moment Roran opened the door, more thunder sounded. Dawn jumped out of his arms before he collapsed. When he did collapse, he crawled over to a nearby table and hid under it, his hands over his ears yet again. Kenji glanced over to him trembling and quickly closed the door as a soaking wet Pichu ran through.
<This stinks.> He let out a groan as he wiped the water off of his goggles. Roran was under a table, he was soaked, and they had to stay in this place. <No literally. It smells like wet growlithe in here.> He glared towards Kenji before walking towards Roran. The poor thing.
Roran didn't move from under the table. He'd stay there until the storm stopped. It made him feel more secure with all this thunder.

Tears streamed from Kimmie's eyes as she gazed down at her weak vulpix. They were training so hard when the storm hit and Kanti was far to weak to be in the rain from practice. It's eyes were closed as it tried to rest. It didn't work great though as the thunder rang out and shook the walls every now and again.
"May-be I... Should l-let out... The others." She said in between sobs. She didn't know if she should or not. A magikarp wouldn't be of much help and a happiny was a baby, the crying from it would drive her crazy. At least her tears were silent.
Leaning her head back against the wall she sighed. "We should find a bed, maybe even the person that owns the place... If it is even occupied." She said staring at the ceiling. It was one thing to barge in during a storm but another to use everything they saw in site. She stood up slowly and gazed into the broken mirror on the opposing wall. She could see herself dripping from the rain but also covered completely in mud. "Ew. No matter how much I love being dirty I can't meet anyone like this..." Her voice trailed off as she pulled out a towel from her book bag. She rubbed it on her face and arms before dumping in back in her bag. Next up was a comb. She pulled hard through the clumps of mud that now caked her hair.
Crack! The brush broke in her hair. "Dang it!" She yelled louder then she meant in a side hallway. She covered her mouth with her hands, waiting for someone to come. No one. Hazel eyes gazed down the hallway for a soul, no one. She blinked in confusion a few moments then pulled the rest of the comb from her tangled hair.
"Lets find someone Kanti." Kimmie sighed as she scooped up the vulpix back into her arms and headed back towards the main hallway where the front door stood ajar. "Didn't I close that?... Never mind" She shook her head as she approached it and pulled the creaking door shut. "Here goes nothing." She smiled down at her companion. " Hello?" She called. "Anyone here?"[/u]

He couldn't stop trembling, even if he tried. They may have not been any rain but he was covered in mud and there was still thunder. Roran was one who absolutely hated to be dirty. But now with that thunder ringing throughout the castle, he couldn't care less about how filthy he was. He even ignored that feeling of mud dripping down your face and hitting your lips for an unpleasant taste. Everything was ignored except for the sound of thunder. If he continued like this, there was no way he'd last the night.
A door was closed nearby. Extremely nearby. It creaked before slamming shut. Roran mistook the noise for more thunder. As he took the sound in he realised how strange it sounded. That wasn't thunder. His eyes peeked open for a split second to see someone standing by the door. Another thunder shook the castle and his eyes were shut tight again, regarless of whether there was someone there or not.
Kenji's hair bristled up as his gaze remained on Kimmie. Stranger-alert. Roran was in a very delicate situation and Kenji wasn't going to let anybody he didn't know near him. <Leave...now,> he growled. He didn't mean to come off so rude but he couldn't help it. He had to protect Roran. He didn't mean for her to leave the castle but instead to just leave the area until Roran got better. <Or else.> Naturally he had to end with the common threat 'or else'. It was one of Kenji's favorites simply because it left Kimmie to imagine what he would do. Little did Kenji know that Kimmie was carrying one of Kenji's pups. Yeah, Kenji was one of Roran's favorite pokemon and his specialty breeding growlithe.
Pichu glanced towards the stranger. She looked familiar. Had they seen eachother before? <I'd do as he says,> Pichu said refering to Kenji's threat. <There isn't anything worse than a growlithe protecting his trainer.> Neither Pichu or Kenji gave away Roran's position although it was quite obvious with the hysteric sobbing noise from beneath the table.

Kimmie stared dumb-founded at the growlithe and pichu. She hadn't even seen Roran until she heard the sobbing from under the table. "Hold on a moment..." She spoke softly, guessing that the person under the table would be startled by louder noises. She bent down setting the weak vulpix on then floor for a moment then turned her hazel eyes at the group. "Roran?" She spoke his name in both a question and as a hope for comfort.
"I'll leave if you want but, I think I know you..." She took out a pokeball slowly, not to threaten the body guards if they could be called that. The ball enlarged and glowed red for a moment before opening and revealing Lidda, her growlithe pup.
"You'll pay for stuffing me in that ball one day!" The female pup snapped as she shot golden eyes at her trainer. Boy was she a drama queen. Her eyes wondered to the others before her. Then they grew large. "Oh my gosh! You just had to take me out so I can join a pity party didn't you!" She barked back to the human female now hanging her head in shame at her outrageous growlithe.
"I'm sorry, but this is Lidda, I bought her off you as an egg that one day. You said you'd like to see her and I doubt right now is the best time but I doubt I'll be entering this room again for a while at the rate this storm and your growlithe are acting." She sighed as she bent over and picked up Kanti. "Come on Lidda, don't press our luck. You're just a pup and have no chance against them no matter how much you'd like to think so. I'm thinking even Kanti won't win and she's my strongest so come." And of course the little "angel" was gonna put up a fight but followed quietly behind Kimmie as she headed for the door.

Kenji's eyes widened so wide as he spotted the little growlithe pup. <Lidda, you said?> Kenji stuttered as he was hardly able to take his eyes off the pup. He had a daughter? What? This was quite shocking. He never imagined that he'd see any of them in a region as huge as this. He swallowed hard as he tried to speak to her. Apparently she was a drama queen. Well childlike behavior was tipical of any young pup. <Hi there.> Yes, how heartfelt. T.T What was he suposed to say? 'Hey, I'm your daddy. Do you remember me?' Of course. That would have been completely not awkward.
<Whoa. Kenji, I had no freakin' clue you had pups. Well I mean, I knew there were three eggs but who knew they are already hatched and like...breathing?> Pichu and his big mouth. He gave a small grin before looking to Kimmie. <Well you see, Roran is terrified of thunder. We usually just slap on some earphones and blast music into his ears so he isn't as scared but we lost his backpack out there somewhere. So yeah...until the storm passes or something, he won't really be comming out yet.>

"Yes, Lidda, you hard of hearing?" She snapped. Obviously she didn't care what the other growlithe was feeling or that he was her dad. She was fine just not caring or knowing. "Uh... Hi to you too now if you don't mind, I'm going." With that she turned with her tail and head held high down the hall to who knows where.
Kimmie sighed as she looked at Pichu. She had finally learned some poke talk after long hours of talking to Kanti. "I see. Well, if you want I can lend him my MP 48. It's not that great but it has a few songs that can kill someone's eardrums if they're not careful and a few really mellow songs that probably won't help him." She shrugged as she pulled it out from her pocket. She bent down and laid it on the ground in front of the pokemon. "If you need anything, I'll be in some random bedroom and or trying to find Lidda where ever that dang girl went." She sighed once more as she began her walk down the hall.

[Short post is short]
Pichu snagged the Mp3 [MP 48 is a gun. XD] and ran under the table to give it to Roran. <Mommy, here ya go...> he mumbled as he placed the earphones into/onto [no clue which headphones she has] Roran's ears. He had no clue what song to pick so he picked something extremely random. Apparently it was working because already Roran had stopped shaking. A small smile was begining to form on his lips.
"I like this song." Suddenly he noticed Kimmie. "No, don't go!" It was almost like a desperate plea. He needed human company in situations like this. "The murderers always want to seperate the group and pick them off one by one," he added with a broad smile. Oh goodie, he made a joke. He spoke a little louder than normal, thanks to the music blasting in his ears. He probably wouldn't be able to hear her reply, but that was no problem. He was quite good with lip-reading.

Kimmie watched silently as the Pichu grabbed the MP3. She smiled then began her search for that rascal of a growlithe she called a companion. Stupid pup Pokémon was only lvl 1 and she already felt like she could take the world. For goodness sakes anyone could pwn her tiny butt. If she played World of Warcraft after someone would one shot kill her they would either scream "Learn to play n00b" or "PWN3D". Poor child.
A voice from behind her called, human even. Male but it kinda had that girly pitch sound to it. She shrugged and stopped walking. Turning her head she noticed that Roran had at least stopped shaking. Then he made a joke, something about splitting up but with the rain it was hard to hear everything that he had said. "I'll remember that but I really need to find Lidda. She's -cough- level one -cough- and I'd kill myself or put my life in danger before someone stole her or worse. Feel free to join me, better then sitting under a table with who knows what lurking around." She grinned and turned back around though she waited to see if she could hear a shuffle from under the table from the boy coming to join her.
Kanti grew restless in her arms and leaped out. "<You stay with the boy, I'll find Lidda and if you don't want me to go alone, send Roar too.>"[/color] She gave a short glance to Roran and the others before waiting for her to release the Arcanine.
Kimmie watched the vulpix with hazel eyes for a moment before nodding. Pulling out a shiny red and white pokeball she released a large canine Pokémon. An Arcanine. "Roar, go with Kanti to find Lidda. Don't run unless you need to. You bigger then both of them and I don't need broken objects littering the ground when I try to find a bed to sleep in. Got it? Oh and when you get her, bring her to me. I might not necessarily be right here though. So send one of you to me and when you find me go back to the other. Understand?" She had a stern look on her face as the two nodded. Good.
CRASH. The sound of broken glass came from one of the rooms over. "Doesn't look like it will be to hard to find her now does it." With that she turned back to Roran and approached him. "Change of plans. My Pokémon will look for Lidda for me and we get to find either the owner of this place or a bedroom to stay it. Preferably separate though I don't mind if you sleep on the floor." She grinned slightly as she held her hands out in a motion to say he goes first.

[I've really been doing short posts later. Sorry. I just have to get back up to speed after the period without it.]
"Change of plans. My Pokémon will look for Lidda for me and we get to find either the owner of this place or a bedroom to stay it. Preferably separate though I don't mind if you sleep on the floor."
Roran barely had been able to read her lips earlier, but managed to get the majority of her speech just then. So apparently they were going to look for a bedroom or something. "Staying in the same room would be indecent." Oh good ol' Roran. Perhaps one of the only young boys with morals. He followed the way her hand was leading him, but still had no clue where he was going. "Have you ever been in a castle like this? I hear they're filled with traps and secret passageways and stuff." Little did he know, he was about to find one.
On the ground was a small button, hardly noticeable. The second his foot pushed it down, the floor infront of him opened up. "What the?" It was too late. He fell fowards and found himself sliding down a slide like tube. "KIMMIE!" he screamed in his girlish tone. Finally he landed on a mattress. He felt his head and looked up. The end of the tube-slide was a good six feet above him. It had launched him out onto this mattress. Too bad he had no clue where he was.
Pichu and Kenji weren't far behind. The Pichu and Arcanine leapt right into the opening, desperate to rescue their master. <Hold on Mommy! I'll save you!> This was hardly a majestic castle anymore. It seemed like a funhouse from hell.

Kimmie smiled at his comment. Finally a boy that didn't take advantage of a girl. Good. She watched with hazel eyes as he lead the way, both of them dripping with water from when they were trying to escape the storm. Listening to what he said it never really registered to her that there may be a few.
When Roran stepped on the button and the floor opened immediately, even before he said her name, she held out a hand in hopes of grabbing him before he fell. She missed and being the klutz she was she fell too, only she was able to grab the ledge of the gap in the floor.
"Roran, are you ok?" She called down as she held onto the ledge. Below was darkness and she didn't know how far down it was, not daring to let go. Being 4' 9" had it's disadvantages, like the fact if she fell she wouldn't be falling less then a foot.
Being worried didn't help her cause either so as her hands became sweaty her holding began giving away. She swung her feet behind her and tried to catch the slide with no luck, curse her shortness. "I can't hold any longer." She shouted down, not knowing that the ground was about 1' 3" below her and not knowing he could reach her easily.
Her grip slipped and down she went. Plop! Landing on her feet she stared into darkness. "Man, I held for that long for no reason." She kicked the ground then turned towards the darkness. "What's your plan?" Wait? Why was she even talking? With those earphones in his ears, and the darkness, he couldn't hear or see what she was saying.
