Alivia nodded and looked to her Chatot. "Jitter, you go and scout ahead. We'll be following right behind you," she ordered, nodding to him. The Chatot nodded back and with a flap of his wings, he took off in the direction the Sentret had indicated to.
While Jitter was vangaurding, Alivia followed the little Sentret, jogging to keep up with him. She continued to glance around, hoping to catch sight of something reflecting the sunlight or a piece of purple fur, but she saw nothing.
Luckily, being a bird, Jitter could see farther and he could see more detail. He turned his head from side to side, seeing if he could see a Rattata or something shiny. . . He just wished not all Rattata looked the same.
Then he flashed by a tree and something caught his eye. He stopped and backtracked, narrowing his eyes as she tried to find what it was he had seen. He moved around in the air, trying to recreate it, then was a small twinkle.
Eyes widening, he perched in a tree and looked down. There was a Rattata there, and it had something shiny, so he was going to watch it and keep track of it until Alivia and the Sentret came up. He hadn't been ordered to attack or retrieve the item, so he was just going to make sure the Rattata didn't go anywhere.

The Sentret scampered through the dense snow with ease, following a small path that pokemon before him had carved through, the treck for him was a breeze, his thick pads and bushy fur were well adapted to the chilly weather.
For pokemon trainers it was a different story, if Alivia didn't have the proper clothing it would be far too easy for a innocent trainer to die out here. Luckily being in Route One, the city was not far at all and the pokemon around these parts were usually fairly helpful.
The fluffy brown pelt of the Sentret could be picked out easily as he weaved through the snow, his eyes darted around, looking for a trace of a Rattata. He could pick out the Chatot flying a few paces ahead. Suddenly, the flying type doubled back and flew over the same spot a few times.
The Sentret picked up his pace, knowing that the Chatot had probably seen something, just as the flying-type cought sight of the Rattata, so did the Sentret and the pokemon did not hesitate as he took a flying leap onto the purple pelt of a Rattata.
Taken by surprise the Rattata, reared up and smcaked the Sentret into the tree behind him. The Sentret fell to the ground, limply, the impact knocking him out for a few turns until he regained conciousness.
The Rattata looked up at the Chatot, his hackles bristling and he snapped at the pokemon. <Hey! Go away! Unless you want to get the same thing he did!>
The Rattata you were searching for has appeared! ::rattata::

Jitter flapped his wings angrily and squawked at the Rattata. {Ha! That's unlikely,} he retorted with a scoff, settling his wings back down at his sides. He turned his head to look at Alivia as she came walking into the forest.
"Hey! You're that theif the Sentret wanted!" Alivia declared. She looked around and saw the Sentret unconscious on the ground and her eyes widened. "What you do that for? You better give up whatever it was you stole from this Pokemon or else you'll be sorry."
The Chatot flew to his trainer's side and landed on her shoulder, glaring at the Rattata. He was more than willing to fight the rodent, but Alivia was planning on using a different Pokemon to fight this little rat. She already had the Pokeball in her hand should the Rattata turn out to be less than cooperative.

<You think a little trainer like you could scare me at all?> he snarled. His mouth was twisted into a gruesome smirk, as if he thought no one could do anything to him at all. <Just you? Pah. You'll be easy bait.> He looked at Alivia's ponytail. And those ponytails would make good money. Of course - the Pokeballs wouldn't be bad either. If he got the Shiny Chatot, the people and Pokemon at the market would be more than happy. It was not often that Shiny Pokemon came to the market.
He smiled in his mind, prideful of what had happened. But first, he had to to take out this bothersome trainer and her Pokemon. Or one, he supposed. After all, he only had so much health points. And he wasn't planning to have to rest before going to the market. It only stopped a day or so, and there was no way he would wait for next year's market. That would not be acceptable by his friends nor his family. And in no way would it be accepted by his mom. In fact, his mom would be really mad that he hadn't gotten enough money for them to last for the winter. His whole family depended on him; he was an important part of their home and their entire fortune. Important.
That was what was on his mind as he lunged forward, his mouth bared in a threatening snarl. His lips were pulled back, showing his long front teeth. It wasn't exactly easy, but he managed to straighten his tail up too. <You're not getting past me!> he shouted. He was headed for Alivia, and if she didn't get a Pokemon out soon, she would be out of luck. And get hit by his Tackle attack too. And Tackles didn't feel great. At least, he hoped it didn't feel very good for the girl in front of him.

Alivia scoffed and threw out the Pokeball she was holding. At last she could get her Jade Riolu some training. So far all she'd done was feed him a crap load of Rare Candies. That was good for his happiness level, but getting to know him some more would definitely be good for him.
"Anubis! Counter!" Alivia demanded. Hopefully she could turn that Tackle attack around on the Rattata. She knew it probably wouldn't hurt Anubis too badly if it didn't work: he did have super-defense thanks to his Jade attributes.
The little Jade Riolu appeared and blinked at the purple rat coming toward him. He didn't have much time, but his green body started to glow slightly and he readied himself for the impact. If it came, the attack would just be turned right back around to cause the Rattata double the damage.

[Ooc: I believe I owe you a nice reply since you got mine while I was away -smiles- ]
The Rattata was a difficult Pokemon; stubborn and aggressive all the same in the fact that he only wanted to fight just to gain some experience and this trainer looked weak enough to go against. Well, at least that's what he thought; that this trainer was weak but, he let out a green colored Pokemon. Rattata was startled by this, but continued on to try and tackle this Pokemon, even though he started glowing.
Thus, Rattata hit the glowing, green Pokemon, only to have his tackle attack counter back onto him. Rattata.. was pissed. This wasn't fair, how could he build up all his strength to use in one tackle attack just to be thrown backwards against the ground and then colloid into a tree?! Rattata shook his head, standing up with a glare on his face as he stared to the green Pokemon. [I'll get you!] he yelled out victoriously as he ran at the Jade Riolu with another tackle attack.
Rattata used Tackle!

Anubis raised his eyebrows at the little rat Pokemon. It had a lot of spunk for being a pathetic little rodent in his eyes. He scoffed and let the Rattata come. It wasn't like it could hurt him too badly with his soft little body.
He did take a few steps backwards from the impact, though. Even though it hadn't hurt him too bad, the Tackle attack had been strong, and momentum had made the little Jade Riolu back up. He glard at the rat Pokemon, waiting for his trainer to give him a command so he could teach the little pest a lesson in manners.
Alivia smirked. This rat sure did think he was all that. "Alright, Anubis. Show him what you've got! Use your Sky Uppercut attack!" she commanded. That was a Fighting move, and a Fighting move against a Normal type was going to be devastating.
The little green Pokemon smirked, almost mimicking Alivia's perfectly. He moved one paw back to get some leverage, then lunged toward the Rattata, his paw glowing as he thrust it upward at his foe, hoping to catch the rat under the chin and send him flying.

The Rattata thought he could win, especially since the tackle did some damage. I mean come on, some damage was better then none and it was enough to be proud of. A little too proud to say the least as he smiled like he was at a show as the Jade Riolu used Sky uppercut. Indeed the sky uppercut did some damage too. The Rattata flew up into the air, but, he did a bit of a "Team Rocket" hit and pinged as he went up into the sky screaming.
That was odd...
You defeated Rattata! Jade Riolu gains one level!

Anubis tilted his head back to watch the Rattata fly off, lifting a paw to hide his eyes from a rare patch of sunlight that was streaming through the leaves. Apparently he didn't know his own strength. At least the Rattata was gone, now.
Alivia squealed in delight and ran over to her Pokemon, scooping him up in her arms. "Oh, you were great, Anubis! That was one powerful attack!" she cooed, nuzzling her little Jade Riolu. Despite his hard outside, she found it quite easy to hug him. Maybe it was just because she loved too much to care.
Jitter flapped his wings. "Great job!" he declared in that odd parrot voice of his. He was still perched on Alivia's shoulder. He had found it quite odd that the Rattat had flown off, and he hoped it hadn't taken the shiny object with him.
Speaking of shiny objects, where was the Sentret? Oh yes! Alivia gasped and ran over to the little Pokemon. The Sentret had been knocked out earlier and she had forgotten during the battle. "Hey! Are you alright? We defeat the Rattata! You can get your item back now!" She didn't add the fact the Rattata had blasted off and might have taken the shiny with him.

With the Rattata gone, the Sentret finally got up and scurried over to the area the Rattata was thrown off at. He searched around and finally dug a little to pick up his shiny object. Sighing, he smiled and ran over to the Trainer, holding up the shiny object. [It may not be much but, it means a lot if you took it.] The Sentret handed over the shiny object before running off into the woods.
You Receive a Star Piece!
When the Sentret ran off, a small Paras that seemed to had been traveling for some time, appears from the bushes and looks up at the trainer with curiosity. [Wanna battle?] He asks, wanting to train a little bit before traveling on.
::Paras:: ::male:: Wants to Battle!

Alivia looked at the Star Piece that the Sentret had given her. She hadn't even had the time to object before the little Pokemon was gone. She smiled at the little item, then tucked it away in her pack. Well, if that was how it was going to be, then that was just fine.
"Alright, you guys get some rest," she said, returning both Jitter and Anubis. They deserved to have a little bit of rest before she continued on. Or before the next battle. Whichever came first.
Then the Paras appeared. Alivia smiled brightly at the little Pokemon. Oh, it was so cute! She just had to catch it. "Of course I'll battle with you! You're up, Charmy!" she called, tossing out her Charmander's Pokeball. The little lizard Pokemon appeared and shook his head.
"Char char. . . ," he murmured. Apparently he had been taking a bit of a nap while he was in that ball. Well, he would have to wake up if he wanted to win this battle. The Charmander looked over at the Paras and waved his tail slightly. A battle? Alright! That didn't sound too bad.
"Ok, use Ember!" Alivia commanded, not wanting to waste any time with preamble. She wanted her Charmander to get stronger and she couldn't waste time just talking to her opponent. This battle was probably going to go fast, anyway, seeing how Charmy was a Fire Type.
Charmy nodded and swished his tail out in front of him, creating an arc of little fireballs. This was his favorite way to use Ember. He could just open his mouth and blow out some fire, but he figured this was more asthetically pleasing.

The Paras smiled and readied himself for the battle. When the Charmander appeared, Paras knew that he had to be fast and most likely his opponent would use fire attack which, that's exactly what the Charmander did.
Swiftly, the Paras dodged the ember attack, shaking himself for a stun spore attack and then inhaled before shooting his move Psybeam.
Paras used Stun Spore and Psybeam!

Alivia narrowed her eyes. This Paras was stonger than he looked. Just the way she liked it. "Shoot an Ember into that Stun Spore and then use Smokescreen!" she commanded her Pokemon. She wasn't going to be worried about hitting the opponent Pokemon this turn.
Charmy did as he was told and fired off an Ember attack into the Stun Spores. The fire nullified the paralyzing powder, leaving the Charmander safe from harm for right then. He still had to deal with the Psybeam, though.
However, he was not too good at multi-tasking. The Psychic attack him head-on and he tumbled backwards, landing on his back. Groaning, he heaved himself to his feet and glared at the Paras.
Still glaring, the Charmander opened his mouth and a plume of black smoke billowed from his jaw, covering the entire battle feild with the black smog. Visibility had worsened, but the little mushroom Pokemon would not be completely blind out there. Anything helped, though.

Paras looked through the thick fog, he had seen this move done a few other times but wild Pokemon but, only fought with it in battle one other time. His eyes shifted and then he decided on an attack, for with little viability, the Charmander had to come towards him at some point.
Paras braced himself and used poison powder at the same time as spinning in a circle to get the powder to move out a little more before he let out hundreds of seeds for a leech seed.
Paras used Poison powder and leech seed!

"Dodge the Seed and use Ember on the Paras!" Alivia demanded. Poison she could deal with. At least her Pokemon would be able to move while poisoned. Sure, his health would be chipped away at during the battle, but with that Ember attack the battle would surely end quickly.
Charmy, however, had other plans. Sure, he liked Alivia, but he did not particularly feel like being Poisoned. So, instead, he avoided the toxic powder. This movement brought him into the path of the Leech Seed, which wrapped it's little tendrils around him. Now he would be losing health this way, instead.
Alivia groaned. "Charmy! I told you to avoid the Seed! That way the Paras wouldn't be getting your health!" she berated her Pokemon. He hadn't quite thought through that strategy, after all. Maybe there was a reason he had a trainer, after all. . .
He still had that Ember attack, though. He didn't bother going about it in his theatrical manner, though. The Charmander just parted his jaws and blew a flurry of mini-flames in the direction of the Paras. He was going to make that little plant Pokemon pay for getting him all tangled like this. . .
Charmy winced as the Seed's vines contracted and sapped away his health. If the Paras had recieved any damage before the battle, a little bit of it would have been restored. Charmy was a Fire-Type, though, so it wouldn't be a whole lot of health.

Paras was hit this time by the ember, the flames scorching his outer shell and he winced a bit. Slowly, he regained a little of health luckily from the leech seed but, it wasn't enough to fully heal him at all.
Quickly, Paras took the chance to spin around again to let out another stun spore, and then went to use a scratch on the Charmander.
Paras used Stun spore and Scratch!

Alivia narrowed her eyes. "Smokescreen and Ember!" she declared. She wanted to make it almost impossible for the foe Pokemon to be able to see. Those toxic powders that the Pokemon had could potentially be devastating.
Charmy opened his mouth and another plume of black smoke erupted from his maw. It rolled across the arena, making visibility for his opponent even worse than it had been earlier. However, the Charmander could see his adversary perfectly. It was odd how that worked, but they weren't complaining.
However, he still had to deal with that Stun Spore attack. He attempted to slide out of the way, but the powder was everywhere. He managed to avoid the bulk of the attack, but he enhaled a few spores and his body twitched painfully as some of his muscles tightened.
He wasn't completely paralyzed, but it was enough to hinder his ability to move. At least he wouldn't have to move very much in order to use his Ember attack. He would have to rely on his smoke cover to keep himself from getting badly hurt. He couldn't even avoid the Scratch attack that came at him. A deep gash appeared on his right side.
The Charmander glared in the direction of the Paras and opened his mouth again. He spat a barrage of little flames at the Grass Pokemon. He winced slightly as the Leech Seed went to work, but he still managed to keep concentrating enough to use his Fire Attack.

The grass type was alredy having great difficulty seeing and the added billow of smoke only made it impossible. Visablity was zero for the poor Paras and he felt like he was trapped into the murky depths of the ocean with something lurking in the dark. Except the ocean didn't burn his throat painfully and make him cough his lungs out.
Swallowing smoke= not good.
The Paras took a deep, heaving breath and strained his eyes, willing them to adjust to the smokey gloom somehow. The sun was diluted, and it really was pitch black. However the Paras had keen hearing and heard the slight crackle of electricy that comfermed that the Charmander had been paralyzed. Success. The pokemon grinned slightly, pleased despite the circumstances.
It didn't last long, as the flames came shooting out of the darkness, the pokemon was only able to let out a cry of shock as the heat struck him. Knocked back, the Paras let out a squeal of pain as his nerve endings tingled painfully.
The pokemon struggled to his feet and without a second thought, became scuttling around the smoke cloud, spreading around a Stun Spore as he raced around. Exhusted, the pokemon scratched in all directions, attempting to contact the Charmander somehow.

Charmy, dispite his trouble with moving, managed to smirk at the Paras. The little mushroom crab thing scuttled around, getting no where fast with his attack. The Scratch failed miserably, and Charmy was very grateful for that little break. At least he wouldn't be getting injured any time soon. Well. . . For right then.
However, the Stun Spore attack spread thickly among the smoke, even combinging with his Smokescreen attacks to create a horrible cloud of paralyzing power. Charmy felt his muscles freeze. He couldn't even take a step forward, now, but he was going to try. . . He had to try! There was nothing else for him to do but try. All he had to do was open his mouth. . .
Alivia could see just as well as the Paras could. She strained to see what her Pokemon was doing, but to no avail. "Charmy! Just keep up Ember! You can do this, buddy! I know you can!" she cried reaccouragingly. "You can take out this Pokemon no problem!" Hopefully her Pokemon was doing good. . . But she had no way of knowing.
Well. . . there was his command. Just use Ember. That was all he had to do. Surely he could manage to just open his mouth. . . Maybe turn his head a little bit to aim right. . . Of course, that Paras was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. If he timed it right, he could get his opponent when he ran by the Charmander. He opened his mouth. . . And managed a pitiful Ember attack.

Well, it seemed like the Paras was having an unlucky day. This battle was not going well for him. First off, he somehow managed to trip over his own pincers and slid across the dirt very ungracefully. Mud smeared down his side, and the snow numbed it until the area was tingling with the cold damp. Then he scuttled by the Charmander and /somehow/ managed to get his face into the direct Ember attack.
The Paras let out a scream of agony, clawing at his face. It was a good thing the attack had been weak. Angered, and now knowing where the pokemon was, the pokemon reared up to attack.
Perhaps, if he was lucky for once, the Charmander would still be paralyzed and his attack would make a big impact. Sending a quick pray to the skies he slashed down onto the pokemon with a Scratch attack. Now, hopefully he wouldn't get another facefull of fireballs.
