As Rheya stepped onto Route One, excitment welled up inside her, already she'd seen so much that she wanted to capture on paper. The light breaking through the cloud line, a dark night and a darker hound. But first things first; she reached towards the belt slung around her hips, that contained her pokéballs. Her fingers played over the two balls before settling on the first, the ball expanded in her hand and in a bright flash of light her shinx appeared infront of her. Misu looked at her with inquisitive yellow eyes, his tail flicked, Rheya bent down to be on his level. He cocked his head to one side and pounced at her shoulders sending her sprawling.
A laugh escaped her and she scratched the pokémon between the ears, recieveing a pur-like growl in reward for her efforts. Sitting with her back against a tree, she watched in wonder as Misu skipped about sniffing everything he encountered. Even a stone on the path seemed to contain a whole new world as he tossed it between his paws and put his eye right up against it. This caused another laugh to escape her, reaching down to her satchel she pulled out her sketch pad and pencil and started to draw. Misu had found a butterfly and was running around swipeing at it with his paws. She quickly filled a page and turned to another, also filling this one with drawings. Suddenly a drop appeared on her pad, swiftly followed by another, looking up at the sky, rain fell on her face. With a disgruntled growl Misu ran under Rheya's legs trying to hide from the rain. Of course, shinx is an electric type, he will hate the rain. Rheya and Misu shrank further back into the shade of the trees until the rain calmed down. She just hoped they didn't meet any high level pokémon, Misu would be highly disadvantaged in such weather.

Drip-drop-drip-drop
The rain made a soft pitter pattering sound against the wooden log protecting the small Wooper from the onslaught outside. However, wood absorbed wetness very easily and within moments, the water was seeping through the cracks present in the log only yo land on the still, sleeping form of the Wooper.
The first few drops were simply a mild annoyence and the water-type paid no mind to it, but as the drops grew heavier and more frequent the Wooper let out a low rumble and slapped the hole log with his broad tail. The already weak wood crumbled beneath the pressure and the log caved in allowing the downpour to pour in freely.
Fully drenched and covered in shards of wood the Wooper stormed out of his home into the rainstorm. Sure, he liked the wet, but not when he was sleeping. Yawning, he wondered past the trainer and Shinx looking for a dry place to roost. Glancing around he spotted a dry spot underneath the tree.
However the trainer and pokemon was blocking it, with a growl, irritated due to his lack a sleep he snapped at the two. <Hey! Move it or lose it!> he said, stepping closer.
Wild Wooper appears! ::wooper::

Rheya could have laughed, the wooper looked so angry and annoyed, if he was human she could have sworn that he'd have his arms folded and be tapping his foot. Misu studied at the intruder with an inquisitive look, before stretching out a paw to poke the pokémon in the ribs. <Hey to you too, what am I losing for staying put?> The shinx stepped back wards into Rheya's lap and curled up like a sleeping cat, just to emphasize his point. Young and immature as he was, he couldn't help but wind people up. Rheya watched Misu through worried eyes, please don't wind him up Misu, it's raining! You'll only make it worse for yourself!
But Misu couldn't hear her thoughts and proceeded to stick his small, pink tongue out at the disgruntled wooper. Rheya bit her lip in frustration, if this turned into a battle then shinx would be at a sever disadvantage. Then she remembered her other pokémon, picking up shinx's ball she returned him, much to his annoyance, and released her jade riolu. Hisui blinked once or twice, before looking at her trainer, she moved her ears in a welcoming sort of wave, then turned her attention to the wooper. Hisui smiled; <you take one more step wooper and it will be your last.>

The Wooper blinked the water droplets away from his eyes, before letting out a small shudder. The rain was more like a ice storm, it being too cold for it to be completely moisture, but not cold enough for it to be snow. Right now, it was a painful mix.
The Wooper let another chill run through his body, it was starting to lock up due to the cold. If a battle was what it was goig to take, he wouldn't mind, at least it would warm himself up. However as the Shinx spoke, his eyes narrowed greatly, not liking the cockiness of the electric type.
<Weakling. Are you going to come out here and defend your honor. Or do you need your nice little trainer to help you? After all the rain is very scary.> the Wooper mocked, rolling his eyes at the Shinx. <For Mew's sake. You look like a pet.>
Seeing him be returned, the Wooper begin relax, thinking the trainer was going to take his advice and leave.
Not quite, once the Jade Riolu was released, the wooper looked the pokemon up and down slowly. He had to admit, the green skin was really cool. But, he was not going to say that out loud. <Wanna bet?> he remarked snidely, before using Water Gun.

Hisui noticed the Wooper's shiver, which suggested it was cold, probably freezing from the way her trainer was holding her arms and rubbing them. But her jade skin prevented her from feeling the cold too strongly, she could feel the rain pelting her back but not the chill that accompanied it.
Hisui wasn't expecting an attack, and the water gun hit her dead on in the center of her stomach, causing her to double over. A bark escaped her maw, she was usually a very shy pokémon, but in the heat of battle that all disappeared and she was focused on her opponent and her trainer's soft words only. She took a chance and glanced back at her trainer, she caught Rheya's eye and suddenly Rheya felt calm. She'd been fretting about which attacks would work best against the pokémon, but in that look Hisui emanated complete control and confidence, Rheya knew she wouldn't have to do anything. Instead she took it as a great oppurtunity to watch Hisui move, and decide how best to improve later.
She may have seemed in control but the Jade Riolu wasn't quite as confident as she appeared. <The trees> . Giving a small grin she shrank back into the darkness of the treeline. Moving as quietly as she could, she moved along the edge, until she was as close to the Wooper as possible. Then she pulled back her fist and lept out using Sky Uppercut.

The Wooper watched the silent exchange of words between the trainer and pokemon, and felt a sudden pang of loniless. These two had each other, and they seemed like long time compainions even though they had only been together for a few days.
The wooper glanced around her at the depressing surroundings, the rain drops were not easing up much, but it wan't quite as bad as before. Or perhaps he had simply gotten used to the chill. The water type didn't really care much in the matter, simply wanting what they had without getting captured in battle. It was then that he had a breakthrough, perhaps if he stopped iding from everyone and acually tried to talk with the pokemon around him.
It would be a start.
The blue tinted pokemon looked up form his ground, a steely tint in his eyes as he vaguely noticed the Jade Riolu was gone and he was left alone in the feild. Quickly scanning his surroundings, he waited and within moments he saw a flash of green and spun around, just in time to met the Sky Uppercut head on.
He floated in the air for a moment, before crashing back down with a strong thud. Shaking the impact reciol off, he counter-attacked with a Tackle attack.

Hisui dodged the tackle easily, moving from her attack into a dodging manuver with the grace of a dancer. In her heart she felt sorry for the poor pokémon, he looked so tired and wretched. But it was her job to protect her trainer, and due to his threats he was a danger. She circled slowly, watching the water pokémon through narrowed eyes. The ground was slippery, she would have to watch her footing, and as the rain became heavier it seemed to create a physical wall between her and her opponent.
She growled deep in her throat, and lunged at Wooper with a zen headbutt. Rheya watched, her eyes full of hurt for the creature, if he was anything like her and Misu all he wanted was a place to stay and keep dry. He didn't deserve to be battled for that, guilt settled in her stomach and she laughed at herself, she wasn't going to make a very good trainer if she didn't like batting. "You don't have to fight, you could rest here with us until the rain has stopped." She felt stupid talking to the wild pokémon, plus why would he want to stay with her and Hisui after the uppercut she just dealt him?

The Wooper was chilled to the bone now, and he was sure the Jade Riolu could feel it now too, what miserable weather to be battling in. The rain was getting so thick it was like battling in the middle of a waterfall, the water poured over the two pokemon and he wasn't sure if there was one dry place in the forest anymore.
Straining to see past the thick layer of water he kept his eyes focused on the glinting jade pokemon, it was moving slowly towards the wooper and he backed up carefully. The slow pacing was interrupted by a growl and all of a sudden the figure charged towards him with great speed.
The black and white of a zen symbol was imprinted into his mind and as he attempted to scramble out of the way, the slippery moss beneath him caused the Wooper to lose his footing. He smacked to the ground painfully and took the crushing blow with a whiplash reaction. The wooper laid on the ground for a moment more, miserable.
<I doubt you acaully would.> he said, to the trainer, gazing at a tree as he spoke. He slowly trudged to his feet and with a glance at the pokemon charged pathetically at the pokemon as an attempt at a Tackle attack.

Rheya shuddered as a chill swept up her spine, the rain was really picking up. Stretching out her hand, she could barely see it just a few feet away from her. Pulling her knees up to her chest, she wrapped her arms about her legs in an effort to keep herself warm. But the rain dripped through the thick canopy above her, and she sighed, she shouldn't be keeping dry under the trees whilst her pokémon was out battling! Wrapping her coat tighter above her frame, she stepped out into the rain. She gasped, it felt as though someone had poured a bucket of cold water down her back, the rain was slanting, and hit her in the eyes causing her to squint. She didn't understand the pokémons words, but the meaning was clear enough. She didn't blame him though, she doubted she would have taken her offer if she were in his position.
Hisui kept her eyes on the Wooper, but could feel her trainers movements behind her. Her jaded skin couldn't keep the cold out completely, but the knowledge that her trainer was braving it with her made her feel warm inside. She allowed that warmth to spread through her body, her eyes narrowed. She dodged the tackle with a mere side step, the wooper had put barely any effort into the attack at all. The zen headbutt had worked wonders before so the Jade Riolu attacked again with a zen headbutt, charging with her head lowered to her opponents level.

[[Whoa. Sorry this took so long, your board somehow didn't get replied too... which you obviously figured out. xDD Anyways. Yeah. ]]
The Wooper didn't have articles of clothing to protect himself from the cold like the trainer did, and although he had a sleek skin that was waterproof; the chill still got through. Ceaseless trembles shuddered throughout his body, and tired, the Pokémon wasn't suprised when his attack missed.
The Wooper bearly noticed the oncoming attack, and attempted to painfully, wrench himself to the side to avoid the oncoming attack. Muscles stiff, and shivering with the cold, he was unable to clear the attack zone and was hit, although the impact only hit his legs.
The Wooper was sent flying though, twirling like a propeller as he landed on the ground. He struggled up, only out of sheer stubborness and watched in shock as the trainer stood in the rain with her Pokémon. His whole burning burned with a fire he didn;t know he had. He wished he had someone who would do that for him.
Exasperatedly, the wooper turned to the Riolu and glared at the pokemon, before charging up for a Water Gun and shooting the pressurized attack at the Jade Pokémon.

|Thats okay, I thought I might have posted something wrong and re-read it five times trying to figure it out. xD|
The water gun hit Hisui square in the stomach, flinging her backwards into the mud. She pulled herself up shivering, it felt to her like a bucket of icey water had been emptied over her. Her back was slick with mud, her eyes glinting in challenge.
Rheya's eyes were filled with remorse, she didn't like causing the Wooper pain, yet she also knew that battles were a way of life for pokémon and their trainers. "Hisui, ice punch." Rheya's voice was tainted with regret, she rain was chill enough as it was without adding the effects of an Ice Punch.
Hisui nodded, her tail flicked, ears moving back wards and forwards like wings in an effort to keep them dry. Around her clenched fist formed a layer of ice, impenetrable and thick. The Jade Riolu, ran at the Wooper, her eyes squinting against the awful weather, and pulled back her fist.....

[[ xP Sorry. If that happens again, just PM me or some other mod or post in the I need a Mod board! I hate when this happens to my boards so I always reply. ]]
The wooper strained his own eyes through the heavy rain, which seemed impenetrable and endless. The water-type took a few uneasy steps backwards, he was weak, and he knew he couldn't take much more. He had to go to all lengths to avoid this oncoming attack.
Through the relentless pounding of the rain, the Wooper imagined hearing a few muffled footsteps. His eyes widened in surprise, and he whipped around to find a half-drowned Capterpie. Exasperated, he kicked the Pokémon away and turned back towards the battle.
Out of the mist came a glistening with dew, Jade Riolu. A silent gasp escaped from the Wooper as he sprinted to the side, hoping with all his might that the attack would be deemed void. Instead the Riolu hit, right on, able to shift with the wooper quickly enough. A solid chill, froze the wooper in place, and as pain blossomed inside of him, the last thing he remembered was that he couldn't move his legs.
Held up by his frozen figure, he had fainted.
Wooper is frozen! Wooper had fainted!
Congrats! You've beaten the wooper! Jade Riolu gains a level.
Capture or move on?
The rain looked like it was far from done, it would probably be best if you found a cave or something to keep you and your Pokémon dry.

|Thanks, I will xD|
The young trainer smiled as Hisui gained her first victory, "well done." She tickled the Jade Riolu beneath the chin, earning a throaty laugh for her efforts. Rheya considered her options for a moment, Woopers weren't really her type of pokémon, but this one had seemed so lonely and desolate that she couldn't bare to leave him. Instead she tossed a pokéball towards his frozen form, watching as the ball moved to and fro. Hisui watched her trainers actions through half closed eyes, she was tired after her first battle, the weather conditions hadn't helped her at all. Her eyes moved from her trainer to the surronding landscape, to the West the forest that surronded the route became and impenatrable mass of twisted wooden limbs and fresh green foilage. To the East however, a small range of rocky outcrops and hills promised caves and possible shelter. having decided on their next destination, Hisui pulled at her trainers trouser leg and pointed. -We might be able to find shelter.- Her voice was low yet lilting, and could barely be heard over the drumming of the rain on the ground. Rheya understood and nodded her head, they would move off as soon as the Wooper was captured.

The Wooper squirmed, but otherwise he remained still as the Pokeball sucked him in quickly and quietly. With a few slow but steady dings, the Wooper was Rheya's Pokémon. Not unexpected, of course. Captured a WOOPER!Gender: male Attacks: Water Gun, Tail Whip, Mud Sport Level: 8 Nature: Although he's a bit snotty and overconfident, he is really a 'nice guy'. When he's with friends or around friends, he grows happy and shows more of his real and true personality. Really, he has a happy attitude. The Buizel glanced at the trainer quickly, then turned away. She had no wish to be part of them. Yet she felt a kind of longing for someone she could trust - someone she could really listen to and be able to respond to without feeling bad or not having thought into something. Someone that she could listen to without feeling as if that person was betraying her. She had been left behind by her trainer. He had promised to return for her, but he had never come. Now she was sure he had thought she was too weak. She sniffed. No, she wasn't weak. She was only weak compared to those Pokémon of his. How unfair. Following the trainer, she tried to make herself unknown, but almost failed. At least she kept behind Rheya though. It wouldn't be too bad so long as she kept staying in the same distance away from a trainer. However, she couldn't help but cry a bit as she stared at the ground and kicked at the now-wettish ground sadly. [Buizel is following Rheya and Hisui!] [[o.O I couldn't find Tackle on the Wooper's attack list...]]

The trainer smiled gentley as she picked up the Poké Ball from the sodden ground. She wiped the mud off with her finger, before placing it in a holder on her belt. Following Hisui's lead, they walked up the dirt path, now slippery from the heavy rain. The rain still fell, pounding on the ground below with relentless force. Rheya wrapped herself deeper inside her long, coal grey trench coat, pulling it up high around her neck. Her eyes were half closed, squinting against the slanting rain.
If Hisui was cold, she didn't show it. She walked tall and proud, her eyes wide and taking in everything around her. Her ears were constantly moving, picking up every sound. When she paused, Rheya stopped with her, "what is it?" Hisui shrugged, she couldn't be sure. -I thought I heard footsteps- She walked on again and sure enough the footsteps came again, making a slightly 'sloshy' noise in the slippery mud. Rheya tried to focus her ears on whatever her Jade Riolu could hear but to no avail, the footsteps were lost to her in the moaning of the wind.
Soon they arrived at the cave Hisui had spotted earlier, stepping inside the smell of damp earth cloyed their nostrils, but it was dry at least. Huddling down in one corner, the young trainer wrapped her long coat around her and her pokémon. Her eyes were trained eagerly on the entrance to the cave, anxious to see if their follower revealed themselves.

The Buizel stopped stock-still as she heard what they were muttering to each other. Suddenly, her eyes were filled with an undettered determination. She would not get scared of anything. Once her trainer had done that to her. Not again. She would not let that happen to her again. It would not be right. It wouldn't be good to let herself go like that again. So sure of herself again ,she walked slowly towards the cave that the pair had just gone through. Perhaps she should join them?
Walking in slowly, she glanced around, her eyes darting around her surroundings. Her eyes also darted the the Jade Riolu, taking the Pokemon in fully. Then she turned towards Rheya. How perplexing... the girl didn't seem anything near what she had thought she would look like. Oh well; it was well that she didn't seem mean. Otherwise, she might've just turned tail and fled like the coward she was.
<Hello...> she stuttered, not quite being able to form the words perfectly in her mouth. It might not be perfect, but at least she was able to talk. That was something good; at least. And there was always what she had wanted to do; be able to bond with another human. A good human, unlike the one that left her hanging all alone so long ago. However, that thought came and went. But the memories stayed in her head, suddenly making her feel extremely sad and unhappy. Quite unfair, as well.
She shuffled towards the Jade Riolu grudgingly and held out a hand. She had been taught that proper manners were always important; she was sure of that now. Especially with a jade Riolu; they were beautiful but deadly. As usual, the most beautiful things in the forest and routes were always the most dangerous. She sighed. Why did everything have to be so hard? Why did everyone not like her?
Her hand was still hovering, not sure about whether or not to shake hands with the jade Pokemon; Riolu.
[[That's okay. And thanks about the Tackle. ^^;]]

As Rheya's eyes adjusted to the gloom of the cave, they picked out stalactites hanging from the cieling, water running down them in rivulets before dripping on the floor below. Movement at the cave entrance caught her eye, Hisui shifted beside her. The buizel seemed hesitant and nervous, but there was a glint of determindation in her eye.
Rheya smiled, "hello to you too." Hisui's eyes widdened as the new pokémon held out her hand, not out of fear, but out of pure shock that the pokémon had such good manners. After her encounter with the Wooper but a few moments ago, she didn't expect such a polite greeting. Moving slowly so as not to scare the buizel, she took the creatures warm paw in her own jaded one and shook it gentley. <Greetings>, her jade lips cracked into a smile.
Rheya was surprised that the creature wasn't acting in a threatening way, from what she'd picked up from travelers that stayed in her mothers Breeding Center, most wild pokémon feel threatened by trainers, and their reaction would be to attack. A chill ran the length of her spine, the coat wasn't doing very well in keeping the cold out. She found some dry wood that would do well for kindling and lit it with a match from her back pocket. The flames flickered into life, casting shadows on the cave walls. The trainer and her pokémon moved over to one side to make room for the buizel. "Would you like to share our fire?" Rheya asked in a soft voice, trying not to sound like she was ordering the pokémon about.

The Buizel sniffled as she followed far behind the pair. Her head was hanging, and she hadn't yet realized that the two had walked into the cave. She looked up and saw they had suddenly gone, and she grew frantic.
Maybe her old trainer had been right. She couldn't even follow the trainer and the Riolu right. Tears rolled down her cheeks as a spiraling depression worked it's way onto her. She looked around for the pair, but couldn't see them. The moisture in the air had wiped their scents, too.
Suddenly, her paws hit a slippery puddle of muddy water and the Buizel slipped and fell onto her back. Now feeling even more pathetic, the little otter-like Pokemon began to sob. She stayed on her back right in front of the cave entrance and just let the tears roll.

[[ I'll just continue on from where the posting was okay? Raven probably only saw the last post on the first page and thought that's where you were. ^^ It's happened to me before... Anyways, sorry about the confusion. ]]
The Buizel didn't seem exactly comforted by the cave's dreary surroundings, but hey, anything was better than that downpour outside. The rain had been so cold, it had cut through the water-type like a knife despite her liking of water. This had even been a bit much for her. With an still uneasy chuckle, the Pokémon spoke again. "Quite a nice day out there isn't it?" she said, before mentally slapping herself.
She was talking about the weather. The weather.
Once the two began to speak, the Buizel started slightly, a bit surprised at the warm welcome. She had had no idea what the reaction was going to be, but the Buizel was sure glad that her thoughts that the trainer was nice were correct. She quickly stammered out another hello to the both of them, a smile on her face. She seemed rather pleased with herself.
The paw of the Jade Pokémon had a very smooth texture to it and the Buizel marveled this as she shook hands with the beautiful Pokémon. <Nice to meet you.> she added, her wariness slipping away as she approached the fire.
<That would be nice. Thank you.> she said, taking a seat next to the trainer. <I'm Starr.> she finally said, feeling the need to introduce herself. She wouldn't mind talking to these two, most trainers were hostile. They were different.
