Zach walked along the shoddy dirt path, kicking up clumps of dirt as he peered around. He wanted to get to know his starter, honestly, but she would likely be most comfortable in some sort of water- so he was waiting.
As soon as he had gotten back in touch with his parents they had transferred Mouse, his Tauros when he had lived at home, to his PC. He was of course ecstatic to have him, and it was a nice advantage- he was already level fifteen. Much higher than most of the pokemon in the area, so he knew he could get out of trouble if needed. Not to mention, it helped get you places faster.
Glancing around the area, Zach shivered slightly. It was too cold out for his liking. Walking along the very edge of the path, he peered though the wilderness before spotting the glint of water. Finally!
Walking up to the edge of the small pond, he pulled out his pokeball and pressed the button, watching as Rhea appeared in the water. Shaking her tiny head, the Horsea trilled at Zach and began to swim in happy little circles.

::zigzagoon:: ::whismur:: The Princess And Her Guard[/size]
At the edge of the pond, a small little pink pokemon was sitting. Since she was facing away from the trainer, it wasn't so obvious that she was crying even. She was also completely soaked, so even if she had been facing Zach, he probably would be able to distinguish the pond water from the tears. The only hint of her tears was the slight sobbing noise she made every once in a while. Being a whismur made the sound just a little more louder than it would with any normal pokemon. But still, what could such a cute looking whismur be doing all alone and crying? It was a mystery, but if the trainer was up to it, it could be solved fairly quickly.
The whismur's ears perked upon hearing footsteps. When her ears moved, a litle flower crown fell off of her head. The flowers that it made up still had fresh looking petals, showing signs of it once being a beautiful and full ring of flowers. But now...petals had fallen off, some of the stems holding it together were becoming loose and it had an overall messy appeal despite the fresh petals. Clearly something happened only just recently to it or else the flowers would be dead.
Well, back to the footsteps she heard. Her ears were so good that she could determine the weight of the approacher. That was what told her it was human. There were even splashes of water, so perhaps a water pokemon was with the human? Oh and nearby too! She turned her head towards Zach. Oh, his horsea looked like she was having so much fun. Why couldn't she have fun like that? She rubbed her eyes with her little arms and tried to see exactly what they were doing. Oh, the horsea looked so happy! Maybe having a trainer wasn't so bad. She held back a whimper as she wished that she too could have one.

Seeing a slight movement from the corner of his vision, Zach looked up to see a rather round pink thing sitting at the edge of the pond. Not able to recognize it right away, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a pair of glasses, putting them on before relaxing his eyes.
It was a little Whismur, and it was soaking wet. Curious, Zach had sat on the ground near Rhea, who was still happily swimming in circles, entertaining herself.
"Hey there.." He said, softly, smiling at the Whismur. She looked sad, for some reason. That was no good. Shaking his head, Zach reached up to push his messy red hair from his eyes. "Whats wrong little lady?" He asked, sitting back so he was leaning on his arms.
Rhea had finally noticed what was going on and trilled at Zach, then turned to the Whismur and hopped happily in the water, swimming over near her in the pond, her little tail waggling.
|Hello! What are you doing here all alone?|

The Whismur was partly in la-la land that she hardly noticed Zach notice her. But she did notice when he started to approach. Imediately her head was thrown into turmoil. What in the world should she do in a situation like this? Talk back? Run Away? She had never made up her mind before like this since she never had directly encountered a human before.
Oh god, it was talking to her? Her head was hardly clear enough to understand. Quite frankly, she looked terribly dizzy as if she was about to throw up. Well that's what happens when put in a situation you aren't handled for. It was moments like these that she desperately wished Hastin was here. Where oh where could he have gone? The whole idea of it made her feel deserted.
Even if she had been too dazed to understand the human, the horsea's word she heard loud and clear. For some reason the sound of another pokemon talking seemed to snap her back into reality. <Oh..> she mumbled in a perfectly feminine and soft voice. Just like a princess. <I fell into the pond. And I lost Hastin. He usually watches me, but...I...> she ended it quickly so that she could prepare herself for the inevitable tears. She felt so terrible for running away from her protector. Look where that had gotten her. All alone, almost eaten by a gyrados, soaking wet, and likely to never see him again.
Meanwhile, nearby, a speedy zigzagoon was running through the woods nearby the pond. He was a little speed demon, his short legs carrying him faster than any average zigzagoon. His name was Hastin, given to him by his Whismur friend. When her family had taken him in all those years ago, he vowed to protect his so called princess. So now that they were seperated, he could hardly imagine all the danger she could be getting herself into at the moment.
He suddenly came to a stop as he heard something. Voices. There were three of them. One was a human, a trainer just comming from the lab most likely. Another was a pokemon. And the last one was....the princess! Hastin was quick on his feet to head over in that direction towards the pond. His pace became faster than before. That pond was a dangerous place. Some mean water pokemon lived in it, and it was a magnet for trainers. Trainers who wouldn't hesitate to hurt and capture her.
There she was! He could finally see the pink blob through the final set of trees. But as he drew closer, Zach also came into view. A snarl began to seeth through his teeth as he darted as fast as he could towards them. He slid to a stop right between the Whismur and Zach. <Stay away from her you lousy human.> His teeth were bared, his claws out. He was ready to attack.

Startled by the blur and hiss, Zach took a step back. He frowned.. This Zigzagoon was obviously protecting the Whismur, but he wasn't trying to hurt her. He wasn't even trying to capture her! He just wanted to see what was wrong.
"Woah, calm down. I wasn't going to hurt her." He said, putting his hands up. Rhea wasn't quite so calm, though.
Noticing the claws up and ready to attack her trainer, Rhea trilled loudly and angrily. With no direction at all, she shot out a bubble attack at the defensive Zigzagoon.
|Leave him alone!|

"Woah, calm down. I wasn't going to hurt her."
Like Hastin was going to fall for that. "Yeah right! You humans are all the same. Turning us pokemon against eachother!" He clearly had an obvious problem with humans. Besides capturing his family one by one, they were now after the whismur? How terrible of them! Hastin was about to say something else when he was suddenly hit by the bubble.
"See, Princess!" Hastin yelled desperately. "They were just trying to get your guard down so they could attack!" Hastin wasn't a bad pokemon, just held a grudge a bit too easily. Well, well. Atleast he was prepared from this water pokemon. Why? Because he knew a very special TM move. Sparks began to run down the length of his body as a grin formed on his face. Humans were good for one thing, TMs. Without which he would have never learned this move. He suddenly let out a battle cry as a thunderbolt travelled torwards the pond. Even if it missed the horsea, hopefully it was catch the pond water and have the electricity travel and hurt anything in the water.

OOC|| Thank goodness for the Holiday Promo, or I'd be out of pokemon. xD
---
The powerful Thunderbolt hit Rhea straight on, causing a critical hit on the weak pokemon. She was barely hanging onto consciousness when Zach pulled out his pokeball and called her back, a somber look on his face. He wasn't going to let his dear Rhea faint her first day out.
"You little bastard.. You could have killed her, you know. She is still so young.." He said, his fists clenching.
Now it was personal.
Pulling out his only other pokeball that was being used, he pressed the button and stepped back as a massive Tauros appeared between them. The large pokemon reared back, feeling the tension in the air as he snorted, tails whipping.
"Mouse," what an ironic name, for a Tauros. "Use Scary Face- Then Horn Attack." He said, glaring down at the offending Zigzagoon.
Rearing his head back, Mouse bellowed loudly and landed on the ground, his face inches from the pokemon, snorting and growling deep within his throat. Then, he pulled his head back, aiming a Horn Attack at the pokemon.

"You little bastard.. You could have killed her, you know. She is still so young.."
"Comming from scum like you, that's a compliment....It's your fault in the first place for seperating her from the wild she belongs in. If you humans hadn't interfered with us pokemon, there wouldn't be all this fighting." What a long-winded speech. But Hastin was good at getting his point across. He wouldn't stop until all pokemon were free and humans were out of the picture.
Hastin took a defensive stance as he noticed Zach pull out a pokeball. Oh god. It was a huge pokemon. Not to mention one known for terrible tempers. How could he possibly fight it alone? Well he'd have to if he truly wanted pokemon to be free. "Bring it on, tubby." he shouted confidently. He had to be brave for the princess.
The Mean Look hit, but Hastin tried to keep a straight face as if he wasn't intimidated. Well escaping was no longer an option, not that it ever was in the begining. It's just that now it was impossible. The Zigzagoon suddenly felt something tugging on its arm. The princess? No, no, no. Not when a Horn Attack was getting aimed right at him. Dodging was also no longer an option either. He had to take a direct hit in order to defend her.
He tumbled backwards, hurt by the hit. "Now you're asking for it...." Hastin turned his rear towards the Tauros and began to kick up a cloud of sand in a Sand Attack to hopefully lower accuracy. But he wasn't done yet, he turned back around and began to spark. Speed always helped power up his thunderbolt so he ran towards the Tauros, creating Friction. The friction fed into his power and he let out a Thunderbolt at Mouse.
It wasn't done yet. After Hastin saved her, Princess deciding that perhaps, she too, should join the fight. They had attacked first so they must be the real bad guys! Not to mention they were hurting her Guard. "I'll help you!" the whismur shouted as she dashed into the battle. Suddenly she let out the strangest noise. It started off quietly but began to grow and grow in sound so that it was dangerous. It was Uproar and she was determined to create a large one.

Rearing from the sand attack straight to the face, Mouse bellowed and landed hard on his front hooves, shaking his head. Luckily he had stepped to the side in a blind stupor, and the thunderbolt attack had missed for the most part, though it still caused some damage.
Then, the princess started to bellow. The small noise started quiet, but soon was ear-piercing and caused Zach himself to drop to his knees, covering his ears. His eyes were shut tight as the noise overtook him- he was not used to the powers of Pokemon, in any degree.
"This isn't what I wanted.." He breathed, trying to shake his head to stop the noise. It, obviously, didn't help at all. Looking up at Mouse, he felt terrible for the Pokemon. He was stronger yes- but not at all used to battling.
This was unfortunately something he had to finish, though.
"Mouse!" He yelled, hoping his Pokemon could hear him over the loud noise. "Use Rage, but do NOT hit the Whismur." He said, watching as the Tauros started to go berserk, flailing and stomping all around him- somehow, he carefully avoided hitting the screaming pokemon.

Zigzagoon fell back with the hit of rage. He skidded back into a tree, which then a branch fell on his head and he fainted. The Zigzagoon tried as he could to get up but, fell forward with the his last words,
You defeated Zigzagoon! You may capture if you wish! Tauros and Horsea gains a level!
The Whisper who was indeed a Princess looked up to the trainer, shaking with fear. Her hands covered her eyes as she shook furiously. [Please don't hurt me.. please don't hurt me!] She couldn't do anything else after all, her guardian had fainted and she was left alone.

Once the noise and sand had all died down, Zach brushed his hair from his face. Mouse was still standing there, shaking his head and snorting occasionally, but for the most part calm. Standing up, he placed a hand on the large Pokemon's nose, putting his forehead to his. "Thanks, boy. You really helped me out there. We'll get you, and Rhea, all cleaned up.." He had already nearly forgotten about the other two, but hearing the whimpers of the Whismur brought it back.
Looking over to see the Zigzagoon out cold, he sighed and reached for an empty pokeball, tossing it up before tossing it towards the KO'd Pokemon. No use wasting a perfectly good opportunity.
After he had thrown the ball, he knelt to the ground, facing the panicking princess.
"Hey, calm down.. I didn't mean to hurt your friend. Oh why am I even trying to explain this.." he said, closing his eyes and sitting on the ground. Mouse kneeled down and eventually flopped down on the ground next to him, letting Zach lean against his side.
|You know he don't mean no harm little princess.| Mouse spoke softly to the scared Whismur, taking matters into his own hands. For such a large pokemon, he was very soft spoken. |We was just protectin' ourselves.|

You Captured!
::Zigzagoon:: Gender: ::male:: Level: 8 Attacks: Tackle, Tail Whip, Growl, Thunderbolt Obtained: Route one
The Princess Whismur looked up at the large Pokemon with large anime-like eyes and sniffled pathetically. [Really?] She replied in a tiny speaking tone, only to tilt her head to the side. She started to think that maybe this trainer could protect her since she was a tad bit clumsy. [May I join you?] She asked curiously with arms up at the trainer.
Whismur wants to Join your team!
As the tiny Pink Pokemon stood there with large eyes, a purple snake slithered on the ground towards the group. After all, it was about lunch time and the Ekans was quiet hungry. [I, the great Ekans will hunt.. for my meal.] He whispered to himself, thinking that he was almost invisable and a ninja at that.
::Ekans:: ::male:: Appeared!

Smiling, Zach saw that the Whismur had opened her arms to him, and reached down to lift her up into his lap.
"So you want to join us, eh? I'm sure your guardian will be quite happy to hear that." He said, noting that the pokeball he had thrown returned to him with the Zigzagoon captured.
Mouse, on the other hand, was suddenly spooked. Nudging Zach with his nose, he looked around and motioned for him to get up. Grabbing onto Mouse's horn, he was pulled up along with the larger Pokemon, looking around.
Then he saw it.. It was an Ekans, standing out brightly against the green and brown ground. I mean, it was purple.
"Well now, whats this? Mouse, get ready." He said, noticing that it was heading this way, looking at the Whismur hungrily.
"It might be better for you to be in here.." He said, pulling out an empty pokeball and pressing the button, letting it envelop the Whismur.

The Whismur nodded as she went into the Pokeball gracefully.
You Captured!
::whismur:: Gender: ::female:: Level: 9 Attacks: Pound, Uproar, Smokescreen Obtained: Route One
The Ekans looked on, still thinking he was invisible like a ninja would be, he quickly noticed that the snack he was after had disappeared and a larger Pokemon stood in his way. [Damnit! There goes my lunch...] He was furious, very fed up with every snack he came to just running away or fading off like the wind. Quickly, he sat up, still thinking he couldn't be seen, the Ekans let out a poison sting towards the large brown Pokemon. [Now, you shall feel my poison from air...]

Seeing the poison sting shooting towards them, Mouse reared up and took a direct shot to the chest. Snorting angrily, he landed on his hooves and shook his head, horns glinting in the sun.
Zach sighed. Another Pokemon wanting to fight. He was very glad Mouse was stronger than the ones in the area. It was no good if he was hurt too badly.
"Mouse, use Horn Attack." He said, calm now. He knew Mouse was able to handle it. The large Pokemon reared up before charging forward, his horns lowered at the Ekans.

[Ha! An attack?] The Ekans whispered out, standing completely still. [This Poor Pokemon is stupid and attacking thin air!] The Ekans laughed, which was short due to the fact he was thrown into the air and slung against a tree. As the Ekans got back up, he shook the attack off, looking at the bruises and cuts on his body. [No one makes me bleed my own blood!] The Ekans was more furious due to the Tauros getting a lucky hit on him. He reared up, aiming another Poison sting at the large brown Pokemon.
Ekans used Poison Sting!

Mouse couldn't help but chuckle to himself at the Pokemons attitude. It was simply ridiculous.. However, his laugh was cut short by another poison sting. Damn snakes.
"Mouse, Use scary face- then Tackle." Zach was rather curious why this Pokemon was so odd.
Snorting and lowering his head, the Tauros shook his large horns and stomped his front feet, bellowing at the Ekans. All this before charging for him again, throwing his whole body at the smaller Ekans.

The Ekans looked at the Tauros, a sweat drop running down his face. Could this Pokemon actually see him? No..no, it couldn't be... not now, not after all the training he did. Well, if you call eating berries training...
The Ekans swallowed hard, this spine shivered, now he couldn't run from the battle but, he couldn't risk being seen. Another attack, and the Ekans was thrown back against the ground, skidding only a few feet. He stood and shook his head as he looked around. He mummbled, quickly finding a leaf and placing it on his head. [Ah ha! Now you will not see me, for I am hidden like a tree!]
The Ekans smirked, his disguise was clever indeed for him and he shot another poison sting as the Tauros, proud of his new camouflage.
Ekans used Poison Sting!

Mouse was tired, and all this poison was doing was just making him even more tired. Ugh. After the third shot from the Ekans, Mouse shook his head and began to fall to his knees, feeling his health start to drain away.
Zach frowned. "Mouse, Return. Okay Princess, time to show this Ekans you aren't lunch." After recalling his weakened Tauros, he tossed his newfound Whismurs ball into the air, grinning as she landed on the ground.
"Okay hun, I know you are stronger than you think. Now its time to prove it. Use Smokescreen, then Pound!" He said. Princess looked a bit nervous but after a moment she took a deep breath and exhaled a large amount of inky black smog into the area, camouflaging the Ekans better than he did himself.
Luckily for her, she could hear him just as easily as see him, and she jumped forward- Aiming a hard pound at the ridiculous Pokemon.

The Ekans smiled when his attack had hit but, the smile only grew to a smirk when the large Tauros was withdrawn. [Ah, my lunch is back..] He tensed up a bit, seeing the Whismur being called out. Slithering closer, the Ekans came to a stop when the female released the thick smoke. [Damnit... I can't see.] He squinted his eyes, trying to see through the thickness but, couldn't.
[No worries.. I.. am a tree.] He smiled, remembering he still had his disguise.. till a hard pound came down on his head. [Ow!] the Ekans yelled out as his head was pushed to the ground. A large bump appeared on his head and he glared, angry now. Slithering towards the Whismur, Ekans decided to use a wrap attack to hold her still.
Ekans used Wrap!
