A man and his chikorita, possibly a beautiful sight, as the sun rose. The orange glow of the sky tinted the chikorita light orange, and the man's green eyes seemed to reflect the orange, giving them a tint as well. The chikorita sat on his head, watching the sun rise with wide red eyes. The leaf on her head gave off a faintly sweet scent.
"It's almost over, Chikorita." That was one of the first words he'd spoken that morning. "Please get off now." The young grass-type scrambled off his head, climbing down until she'd reached the ground. As they walked, the sky returned to its normal pale blue.
In fact, as they walked, the chikorita began to softly sing a song. Her voice, much like Stonepaw's, was soft and quiet. It was a good singing voice. Stonepaw didn't know the words, but he found himself humming along. It was a pretty tune, at least, and would get stuck in his head for a while. Better that than a showtune. He held back a grimace. I really, really don't like showtunes.

A mad mom appeared. She glared at the group, then decided to leave them alone for a while. But that - that was before they had started humming, and had woken her baby. Now she was kind of mad. It wasn't that she didn't like them. It was just that she didn't - hadn't wanted her baby to wake up. Now she would have to work really hard to get the kid back to sleep. And she hadn't wanted all that extra work. No, not at all.
<What are you doing here!> She yelled, her voice coarse from not using it for so long. She was surprised, but held back her wide eyes. They wouldn't do her good in anything, especially to this person. <I was working!> she cried, her eyes wide with fury, her fists clenched up. It wasn't often that she was like this, but now she was really mad. Perhaps it was because the work wasn't what she had bargained for. Or perhaps it was because of Stonepaw and the Chikorita humming the creepy song.
Anyway, she didn't like them. And she didn't plan to like them or get to know them. Not at all. Not in the littlest, most nice way in the world, she wouldn't. She just wouldn't do it today, and it wouldn't be right or correct to attack. But she did, because she was angry, to say the least of her emotions today. Leaning back, she then lunged forward with a Comet Punch attack to do the important stuff to the man.

<I was working!>
The noise startled Chikorita out of her little trance. An angry kangaskhan mother had appeared, and she was now aiming at Comet Punch at Stonepaw. Giving a little cry, the young grass-type leaped forward, shoving Stonepaw out of the way. He landed on his rump in the soft grass. Chikorita went and hid behind him.
His eyes wide with surprise and fright, Stonepaw stared back at the angry kangaskhan. He didn't do anything, he just sat there. He couldn't help it, she was taller and larger than him, and all he had to defend himself with was a terrified Chikorita hiding behind him. "Wha..." His voice constricted in his throat, not allowing him to say anymore.
Chikorita, still cowering behind him, peeked around. The kangaskhan towered over him, towered over Stonepaw. It sounded like she was enraged because the noise they'd been making had woken her baby. Oh, if only I knew Grasswhistle! Chikorita thought wretchedly. I could send them both to sleep, and we'd be able to escape! But she didn't, and that was a problem. She tried to open her mouth to speak, but all she could make was a little squeak.

"Wha..."
She narrowed only slightly, which in the orange light appeared to be burning in rage, the baby in her pouch letting out small cries and wails. Slowly she placed her large claw-like hand on her baby and patted it slightly. She turned at glanced at the human and his Pokemon, seeing they didn't attack back, she took hold of the moment.
Quickly she pulled back her right arm, the one which had been patting the baby second before and again lunched forward with another, Comet Punch.
<I'll show you not to wake up a mother's child when she is working!> The mother nearly roared.

When the Kangaskhan lunged again, Stonepaw rolled backwards. Chikorita jumped out of the way, using Ancientpower to bring up a large wall of rock to keep the Comet Punch from landing on her. Instead, the rock shattered, little bits of rock flying and hitting Chikorita in the face.
She gave a little cry of shock, but none of the bits got in her eyes. She shook her head, clearing her thoughts. She was about to attack again when Stonepaw grabbed her from behind and dragged her backwards. "Are you mad?" he hissed under his breath at her. "We can't fight her. We might hurt her baby."
Chikorita looked glumly over her shoulder, but what Stonepaw said began to make sense. Even if the kangaskhan hadn't had a child with her, seven feet of towering bulk wasn't something she wanted to fight. The chikorita sighed, letting her trainer drag her out of reach of the enraged mother.

The mother was noramlly a fairly sweet pokemon at heart, but her long working hours and her cranky child had just all added up to make this a horrible day for her, and to top it off, when she finally got her baby sleeping... it was woken up by these two! Frutstrated beyond anything, the mother was goaded into action. Athough angry, she would be within even reason to stop attacking if Stonepaw was able to present a good enough idea to her.
The protective mother, gently pushed her sobing child deeper into her pouch and prepared to attack again. She didn't care why they weren't attacking. They were probably just intimidated. Then again, the Kangaskhan looked at the Chikorita, she looked still very young, and her motherly instincts started to kick in as she slowed in her attack.
Soon enough though, she was goaded on by the child's cries and the fact that the grass type had used Ancient power. She wasn't powerless. She could prptect herself and the Kangaskhan was only planning to teach the two a lesson. With an enraged cry, she lunged at the small pokemon with another Comet Punch. They would learn manners. She would makes sure of it.

[why am i so tempted to have stonepaw pull out some pepper spray? whyyyy.]
The comet punch nearly landed this time, if not for Stonepaw's quick thinking. He dove for the chikorita, wrapping her in his arms. His back was turned to the kangaskhan, and the punch landed on his backpack. It tore open, his items spilling out. Now, Stonepaw wasn't one to anger, but he did become a bit flustered at this.
"Oh no!" He inspected the huge rip with horror. "This was a new backpack, and you ripped it! I'll never be able to sew this rip!" Okay, so maybe now we know too much about him. A guy who can sew? That's a little demeaning. Stonepaw hastily gathered all the items into his arms, then shoved them into his sleeping bag as a makeshift backpack.
Even when he yelled, his voice was only slightly louder than usual. You could only guess that it was a yell, and it was still a little hard to hear.
Chikorita gave him a weird look. Okay, so my new trainer's a little feminine. She thought. But well, hey, now's not the time to think about these things. Obviously the 'don't attack' plan isn't working... She took in a gulp of air. <Okay, okay!> She squeaked. <We're sorry, but this isn't helping at all! Your baby will never fall asleep if you keep attacking us!> At least, that's what she assumed all the fuss was about. She'd pick that much up.
Stonepaw sat in the dirt, still exclaiming over his ruined backpack.

[[Maybe it's because the mom is insulting and doing some rather... bad things to them. I won't say the unnecessary. >>]] <Okay, okay!>
This was not expected, but it insulted her a bit. Why didn't this... this Chikorita and her weird trainer just leave, for their own sakes? She wasn't one to really attack and hurt, but this was too weird. Her baby was being really loud now, and she groaned and grumped as she tsked at the two.
<We're sorry, but this isn't helping at all! Your baby will never fall asleep if you keep attacking us!>
<Well, of course it won't! It won't if you stay here either!> She growled, one hand protectively over her baby. It wasn't as if she liked it, no. Well, she loved it. But sometimes it was one big handful, and today it had proved a bit much for her temper and she had just broken into pieces. How unsatisfactory. Groaning, she pulled her face into a grotesque mask and tried to Leer the two. Not only would it lower their defenses so that she could get rid of them easily, she would be able to - maybe, who knew with this weird group - maybe just be able to make them continue on to where they were supposed to be. Probably, that was somewhere else walking around in the world.

<We were leaving, before you attacked us.> The chikorita responded grumpily. Having to fight for what seemed like her own dear life hadn't been a pleasant experience at all, and she was getting grumpy. <And besides...> Chikorita hmphed, then took a tentative step towards the kangaskhan.
Taking a deep breath, she waved the leaf on her head. The sweet scent wafted from it like before, towards the baby. It was a very calming scent, and although she couldn't yet use it in a battle situation, it might just calm the kangaskhan's child down. She hadn't done it before because she hadn't been able to get close enough.
Stonepaw couldn't help but watch with amusement as the chikorita bit back. He didn't know what they were saying, but the onslaught of attacks had stopped. But then, suddenly, Chikorita took a step towards the angry mother. He leaped to his feet, certain she was stepping into her own demise. But then she began to wave her leaf, and he realized she was right. It might just work.
Gradually, he relaxed from his tense position.

The Sweet Scent made its way over to the sobbing child’s nose, teasing her little by little until she finally stopped to absorb the curious scent. Her tiny whimpers turned to happy sighs, as she leaned out of her mother’s pocket to get as close as her mother would let her to the source. Even the mother was feeling a little woozy from the scent, but she wasn’t about to let her guard down.
Instead, she watched in awe as her child calmed down, breathing in the sweet scent and giggling a little bit. Perhaps she was drunk on the substance, but that was fine with her. Nothing wrong with being a little drunk.
<That was amazing…I’m…sorry…> She struggled saying that, but she managed to spit it out anyways. She would’ve done more, but the scent was actually starting to annoy her. It almost made her feel sick inside. Turning around, she started back into her nest, and hopefully she would stay there long enough so Stonepaw could get away.
For the lulz and some good sportsmanship, Chikorita gains a level. How about that?
