And so, here Jonathon was, in Route 1. It was like normal routes he had visited in Hoenn with his father, full of trees and a nice simple path to follow. But it wasnt a straight path for him, no, he wanted to train his new pokemon. Speaking of which, he had better introduce himself. Letting out his starter pokemon from his pokeball, there he was, Cyndaquil.
Cyndaquil stared at Jonathon curiously, inspecting him, the flame of his back was alight, almost as a defence mechanism, in case this human was bad. After a silence, the fire mouse pokemon smiled and let the fire go out, revealing the four spots where the flames erupt from.
"Hey there, Cyndaquil! My name is Jonathon, and together, you and I are gonna conquer this region, winning lots of battles and capturing lots of pokemon!"
Cyndaquil was rather excited by this, at least he had trainer with hopes for him. But, before they could do anything else, a rustle in the bushes alarmed Cyndaquil, who let his back erupt with flames once more, waiting for whatever was in the bushes to show itself. Jonathon was keen on this, as it would be his first encounter with a wild pokemon, and he wanted to win!

OOC: Sorry John, but you can't decide when wild Pokémon appear. That's the Moderator's job. :3 BIC: But it turns out that whatever was in the bushes wasn’t a Pokémon at all. It was only a dead branch that had fallen into the bushes. The tree it came from was one that stood out from its surroundings, thick, old, and covered in markings. Trainers of the past had decided to carve their initials into the tree, along with a date mark, as a way of remembering their first day as a Pokémon trainer. Since it was so popular around humans, their scent tended to frighten away the wild Pokémon. That is, unless they were pre-owned by a trainer. Whenever that was the case, they tended to be a little stronger than the wild Pokémon around them. <Grrr…How am I supposed to build a nest up here when the branches keep breaking?!> A wild Nincada screamed, frustrated at her efforts to keep out the cold wind from brushing against her sensitive antennae’s. She was virtually blind, which made nest building seem even harder than usual for this ground dwelling creature. But how was she supposed to know that, when she was bred in captivity? [/CENTER]

OOC: Sorry
Meh, just a stupid dead branch. Man, that really got Jonathon's hopes up. Oh well, he was sure he would bunch into a Pokémon sooner or later, it wasnt a rush. Walking further down, him and Cyndaquil looked up to see a Nincada, seemingly trying to build a nest. This was his chance, now, to prove to himself he could be a true Pokémon trainer.
"Cyndaquil, this is it! Time to prove to the whole world how awesome we are! How about we start with.....um.....smokescreen!"
This seemed like a good strategy. Tackle was out of the question as the Nincada was high up the tree, so maybe if it couldnt see, it would fall down to the ground where Cyndaquil would be most effective in battle. The flame on his back erupting, Cyndaquil shot out a smog of smoke up towards the small bug Pokémon...

The poor Nincada continued to try to overcome her difficult task of making a home without any eyesight. Indeed, the task was very challenging, but that was going to stop this little spunky lady from trying. <I won't give up!> She wailed more to herself than anyone else. She soon picked up another branch with her petite hands in hopes of actually using it to build her nest with, but like before the branch only broke, and fell down into the bushes, next to the one before. <Aw, I just don't know what to do!> She wailed as tiny tears started to form inside her beady eyes, she was now even more frustrated with herself.
However, her keen hearing soon picked up the presence of something near, of course she didn't know that there was an actual human there, but she did sense another pokemon. <Hey, who's there?> She asked clearly. She didn't noticed the Smokescreen because of her illness. She soon decided to take a step closer to the sound that was coming from below, but once she took a small step, she soon felt herself falling down upon the ground, lost in a daze.
What will Jonathon and Cyndaquil decide to do with the Nincade?
