Marissa had just spent twenty minutes bonding with her new companion, Crim the Shinx. She had to admit, Crim was quite cheery and boosted her morale – even in those twenty minutes, she suffered a mood swing, and Crim was the perfect remedy to uplift her mood. She actually shared a bond with this adorable electric cub – it was a new feeling, one that soaked through Marissa’s electric-laced body and left her strengthened and optimistic. <Shinx, shinx. | Wow, it’s hot.
> Crim groaned, as the blistering heat made him sweat once more. Marissa looked down, concerned, spotting the sweat matting the cub’s fur. “ Let’s sit down.” She cooed, scooping the Shinx into her arms and sitting in the shade of a tree, flicking her tail, waiting to see if any wild Pokemon would show up. A little ways up the path there seemed to be a disturbance. There seemed to be a pokemon in the tree branches picking on the flower on the ground. Was it a flower? A closer look revealed that the 'flower' was trying to fight back and defend itself. It didn't seem to be doing all that well as it was too short to Tackle the pokemon in the trees and it wasn't adept enough to use it's only egg move, Nature Power. The Cherry-like pokemon squealed in anger as the pokemon above it shot a berry seed at it, effectively hitting the Cherubi on the head.
Up in the trees, and screeching sound came crashing down to the ground as the Zubat started laughing at it's fun and games. Seems like the bully might need to be taught a lesson since the Cherubi doesn't seem to be in the mood for a fight at all.

“Ah, here’s an opportunity.
” Marissa said, smirking. Crim jumped onto his four legs, ready to battle. “ Crim, use Leer and Ice Fang on the Zubat!” Marissa said, her eyes glittering at the enjoyment of battle. Crim’s eyes glowed red as he leered at the Zubat, before jumping upwards towards the bat Pokemon, his fangs crackling with ice. [/blockquote]

The Zubat, somewhat suprised that he was being attack in the middle of his fun. She righted himself and found herself staring into a pair of red glowing eyes that belonged to a Shinx. It took another 3 or so seconds for the Zubat to register the fact that not only was it leering at it, but also readying an attack. A more lethal attack than the last, that was for sure.
<Yeesh, you guys can't take a joke, can you?> It screeched, flapping it's wings so that it was finally back in the air, but not quite fast enough. The Ice Fang grazed one of it's tails, sending a large chill up it's spine. In retaliation, the Zubat opened it's mouth and let out a Supersonic.

Although the Zubat was higher-levelled than baby Crim, Marissa felt confident using him – she had a backup, Meline the Corsola. The yellow rings of the Supersonic made Crim cry out in pain, lashing his tail helplessly as his eardrums felt like they would split. He staggered, finding that he was looking at two Zubats – no, three! He was confused! “Ice Fang.
” Marissa said coolly. Crim obeyed, lunging at the Zubat again. [/blockquote]

As Crim lunged at the Zubat again, the Zubat tried to attack also, using his teeth to try to suck life out of Crim with a Leech Life. But the Ice Fang hit quicker than had been expected. Zubat screeched at the Ice Fang hit it's mark more clearly this time and Zubat was forced to discontinue his chosen attack. The ice didn't materialize on his skin, but it did slow his wings enough for gravity to take over and pull him to the ground.
As he fell in a crumpled heep, he felt very afraid of the little Shinx. It knew Ice Fang, and worse, it had a decent sense of accuaracy, even when seeing double or triple. The Zubat, still on the ground, crawled backwards about a foot, waiting for the Shinx to make another move that he might be able to counter.

Marissa didn’t care for the Zubat – she wasn’t fond of that particular species of Pokemon, and wanted Crim to knock it out as soon as possible so that he could get stronger. “Okay, Tackle!
” Crim was still very much confused. He staggered, closing his eyes, trying to block out the images of three crumpled Zubats, before opening them again. Still three Zubats, spinning around in his vision, never staying in one place. Following his trainer’s orders, he leapt from his position towards the middle Zubat, hoping for the best. Luck would have it that Crim guessed right. The Zubat prepared as best he could buy trying to use Leech Life again, but as he was using the attack, Crim hit him...hard. Zubat flew backwards to hit a tree and then crumpled into and exausted heap on the ground, utterly defeated.
You've defeated the Zubat! Crim gains 1 lvl. You can catch the Zubat or you can move on.
The Cherubi, who'd been watching the battle carefully from the foilage, was in awe as the Zubat collapsed from the Tackle. She hopped carefully towards the trainer and the Shinx who'd helped her. She wanted to thank them properly.

Hmm. Normally, Marissa wouldn’t look twice at a pathetic little Cherubi. But this one had Nature Power – perhaps it would be of some use. “Hello, love.
” Marissa said kindly to the little, fruit-like Pokemon. “ Would you like to come with me? I can protect you.” She took out a Pokeball, setting it before the Pokemon. If the Cherubi agreed, it could just press the button. If not…. Ah, well. Marissa would just let it go. Or, because of the Nature Power, she might send out Meline to replace her confused Crim, and knock the Cherubi out too. [/blockquote]

The Cherubi looked very suprised. She had only come over to properly apologize. Now she was being offered a way to get stronger. She grinned widely and after bouncing around for a minutes or two, she happily pressed the button that would grant her entrance to the pokeball. Her body was engulfed by a red light and sucked into the ball.

“Excellent.
” Marissa said, smirking as she pocketed the Cherubi’s Pokeball, and recalling the still-tired Crim. Then, she pressed onwards, her rucksack slung over her shoulder, staying alert for any more potential team members or battles. [/blockquote]

An eerie wind whistled along the empty path in front of the trainer, for some reason the forest had gone quiet. The normally lively forest was as silent as death. Every pokemon was hushed in a frightened silence.
It was rather sudden, but spread over the forest like wildfire. Even Marissa's footsteps were very loud and noticable. Something was not right. There was something out there.
Within moments of that a bellowed growl echoed throughout the area. Flying types screamed in terror as they took this moment to escape the situation. The sound of multiple pokemon scampering away from the beast was rather like a stampede. Stomping footsteps could be heard through the rushing crowd of pokemon.
They surged towards Marissa, and she had no choice of staying to see what the beast was. Not that you would want to find out anyways! The trainer would have to run with the pokemon, or get crushed, maimed and possibly killed. The pokemon surged into a cavern, that led deep into the cliff walls, taking Marissa with.
Many frightened pokemon crouched nearby, huddled in groups, muttering nervously. Many took no notice of Marissa and simply waited for the beast to sink back into it's slumber.

With a twitch of her ears, Marissa fought her way out of the beast’s grip, landing on the smooth, slighty dusty floor. “What the hell?
” She hissed, brushing the dust off herself. Should she follow this beast? … Yes. Why wouldn’t she? Marissa hitched her rucksack higher up her shoulder, and followed the beast, slinking silently in it’s wake. [/blockquote]

Soon after causing its massive distruction, the beast stood, towering over the forest at its full high for a few moments before lunching off, a flash of blue the only thing seen in the light of the blinding sun before it disappeared into the sky.
Although it had only stayed for a few brief moments, it had left behind a wake of destruction. Just to the right of Marissa was a small Poochyena staring after the beast, a wild look in his eyes. <Wow.> he murrmerred in awe. <I'm going to become as strong as that one day.> he added, letting out a playful snarl.
Brushing away the recent happening he glanced up at the trainer and with a toothy grin, pawed at a pokeball. <Hey! I want to battle, get stronger and all that!> he said, tugging at the trainer's bag, at an attempt to get her to agree. A wild Poochyena appears ::poochyena::

Marissa smiled faintly at the Poochyena. “Of course.” She crooned, trailing her fingers over the three occupied Pokeballs clipped to her belt. Crim, Meline, or Boppy? Boppy had the spectacular Nature Power move, but in this cavern, it would only produce Shadow Ball, a ghost-type move which wouldn’t be very effective against the dark-type Poochyena. She selected a Pokeball and threw it gracefully in front of her – Meline the Corsola appeared, looking pretty, as usual. “Corsola, cor. I guess it’s time to battle.
” The pink Pokemon sighed in her high-pitched, girly voice. “ Yes, Meline. Now, use Harden and Tackle for me, dear.” The Corsola nodded, the pink and white hues of her skin fading into a shimmering, silvery glow, engulfing her, before it diminished and Meline was once again visible, her Defence raised. She then proceeded to charge towards the Poochyena, aiming to tackle it to the ground. [/blockquote]

The pokemon upon hearing the trainer's answer, smiled with answered delight. The response was what he had hoped for! With a grin filled with canine teeth, he nodded polietly towards the trainer as her hand hovered against the pokeballs. <Thank you!> he replied, before taking a few steps away to prepare himself mentally for the battle.
The Poochyena analyzed the trainer, his golden eyes staring at her slender fingers as she was deep in thought about what pokemon she should pick to battle him. She clearly had some experince for she knew about how different pokemon would make a difference agains his type. Although he could also tell she was far from a pokemon master, it would've taken them only a split second to decide who to use.
As the water type appeared before him, the canine dipped his head towards the Corsola. <Hello there! Good luck!> he called quickly, before bracing himself, while the Corsola used Harden the pokemon snuck around to her back side and once the silver sheen faded, attempted to surprise her with a Tackle.
Everything happened so fast, he wasn't sure if his attack had collided, but he knew the Tackle had met his and he staggered back a few steps, but quickly regained his ground and growled deeply at the Corsola.

Meline trembled slightly at the Growl attack, but kept her steady stance. “Same combo, Meline.” The Corsola gave a squeak in reply, hardening again, before charging at the Poochyena with another Tackle.

The poochyena looked towards the Corsola hardening and instantly had a chill run down it's spine. He had to think of something that would help its stats also or else he'd end up in one of those tricky spots where he'd have to use a thousand attacks to get one decent hit. He couldn't have that! The Poochyena allowed the tackle to hit because then his opponent would be right up next to him, perfect for a close range tackle. So as the tingle of the corsola's rough skin began to fade away, the poochyena dove towards the close by corsola for a quick Tackle.

Marissa let out a growl of her own as Melina tumbled to the ground, wincing from the close-ranged Tackle – damn that Poochyena. She eyes the grey, stubby-legged mutt, before turning to her vain Corsola and giving her orders, her Raichu tail lashing behind her. “Same combo.
” Meline hardened yet again, before jumping up and stampeding towards the Poochyena for a Tackle attack. Oh, if only she knew more attacks, then there could be some excitement! [/blockquote]

More silver glistened on the Corsola's pink skin before she moved again. There didn't seem to be a way around her rock solid defense-attack combo. How he wanted to win, he wanted to be strong like the beast that drove them into this cave. He couldn't lower Meline's attack or defense yet, but he could raise his own attack. Pawing slowly at the ground, the Poochyena let out a long and lonely howl before moving in with a Tackle of his own.
