Kiyara and Artemis! Trainer and pokemon! Ninetales morph and growlithe! The fox and the hound!
Finally on the road.
She was so excited she was practically bouncing up and down, Kiyara was. Her little growlithe, Artemis, bobbed along beside her, tongue hanging out of her mouth. She was such a sweet little growlithe... didn't try to run away or anything. "What a fantabulous partner." Kiyara said to Artemis, grinning at the small orange pokemon. Artemis barked. They had slept on the outside of town for two hours before the bright, early morning sun woke them up. Right now it was around 6:30 A.M. "'Kay, babe. Let's get you trained!"

Down in the thickest of bushes, occasionally a grass Pokémon turned to look up at Kiyara and her Growlithe before slinking away into the shadows. The Pokémon farthest from the path were not as used to seeing humans around the area, so they tended to flee at the sight of them. But some Pokémon simply weren’t scared of anything, and those Pokémon loved to play pranks on anything they could find. Including the one that was waiting in suspense for a nearby traveler, right in the tree branches looking like the typical acorn.
Honestly, you wouldn’t be able to tell this one apart from anything else in the background. The only difference was that this one was much larger than anything else, but it really was a Seedot. Grinning to itself like an idiot as Kiyara came within its view, it had heard about these so called ‘Pokémon Trainers’ and it wanted a piece of them.
As soon as she was close enough, he dropped from the branch, just missing Kiyara as it fell in front of her. The Seedot was looking just as fine as before, except it was biting its lip in order to bide the pain away from the sudden drop. Turning to glance up at the human for some type of startled reaction, perhaps a scream or some other frightened reaction. If she wet her pants, oh, that would be priceless.
A wild Seedot appears! ::seedot::

Luckily for her, Kiyara did not wet her pants. She did yelp, though, startled by the falling pokemon, and jumped back. When she saw it was just a seedot, she sighed in relief, wondering why the pokemon had jumped (or fallen, really) right in front of her? Was it stupid? Was it making fun of her? Either way... there was only one thing to do!
"Artemis, Go!" she yelled, and her little growlithe let out a fierce bark as it leapt into battle. Oh goodie, a grass-type. He grinned at it in a bully-sort-of-way. "Fire Spin!" his trainer shouted, which was good, that was what he was going to do anyways. It was good that they were on the same page, he decided, as he launched his fire attack at the seedot.

The puny Seedot was still young and took great pleasure in the trainer's reaction. Sure, it would've been better if she wet her pants, but this worked just fine as well. A high-pitched, feminine giggling came from the young male. It was odd, and quite eerie.
The Seedot was openly laughing at the trainer and the small yelp she made. <You are so stupid!> he snorted, kneeling over and trying to breathe. The apparently halarious situation kept him in stiches so the Fire Spin attack came as a surprise.
A scream of fear came from the Seedot as it was suddenly surrounded by a vortex of fire he would be unable to escape from for a few turns. The flames licked at his flammable body, inflicting pain and the pokemon began to panic.
<No! No! I don't like fire!> he screamed, instantly using Harden to protect himself from the flames. He followed up by using Bide, he sat immoblie, taking the pain the flames delivered, planning to unleash it full force a few turns later. If he even lasted that long.

Well... Kiyara thought, wrinkling her nose What a rude little pokemon! I will certainly NOT be adding it to my team! she raised an eyebrow. "Keep on going, Artemis." she said quietly, controlled, and calmly. Artemis wagged his cream-colored puff-ball of a tail, and she wagged hers right back. It was nice being so in sync with her pokemon. It felt good. "Bite." she hissed, a little grin lighting up her face. Artemis grinned as well, and launched forward, strong jaws opening mid-air, hoping to snap close on the seedot's... well the seedot really didn't have a neck. So really anywhere would be good.
Artemis realized that the seedot was doing bide, and however much she hurt the seedot, it would hurt her right back. But, frankly, she was too caught up in the battle to care. Plus, what's a little pain? Maybe she'd be able to get the seedot to faint before it could even hurt her. Or even if she couldn't... she'd be able to do this. No sweat. "I'll teach you to respect my trainer, seedot." she growled in mid-air.

What a lovely day, a day to relax and enjoy yourself while the sun is shining and the heat is available. Of course, it had been rainy the past few days with thunderstorms and tornado watches. This Seedot was just small enough to get some mud on him, which made the little Pokemon quiet angry. Of course you'd be very mad too if everywhere you wanted to walk had a water or mud puddle that was twice your size; oh if only you were bigger.
Of course, this anger was turned into comedy much later when the Seedot figured how to get Pokemon to fall into the puddles and then he'd laugh and run away; it was a game you see. Now this trainer was purely priceless and a small scare wouldn't hurt any. Well, it seemed now the Trainer's Pokemon wanted a battle and so, the Seedot had to do what he could.
Seedot kept himself immobile, trying to build up his energy enough to use full force on this Growlithe and to take him down. Of course, this meant getting bit from the bite attack and losing a bit of energy. Luckily, harden was helpful during this time of no movement, so he used harden again. Maybe his next turn he could use his bide attack and show what he's made of.
Seedot Attacked! Seedot used Harden! Seedot is biding his time..

Kiyara scowled. The stupid seedot was using bide. That meant they had to KO him before he could attack, or Artemis would suffer serious damage. She considered her options.
Roar was of no help at all.
Bite... it was a strong attack, and pretty good... But maybe she should instruct Artemis to use...
Flash Fire? It wasn't as strong of a move as Bite was, but it WAS super effective on the seedot. And another five turns of firey pain would do some extra damage...
"Artemis! Stop! Use flash fire!" Kiyara said, unsure if she was making the right choice or not. They had already used the attack once. Artemis looked at her trainer, confused, then barked to show she understood. She turned to the seedot, still grinning, and unleashed a hot torrent of fire towards her foe. "Take that."

Flash fire, oh that move was indeed hot, in fact it hurt the Seedot quiet a bit and he was hurt with burn. The Seedot grew angry with himself, he wished that Bide wasn't the only good move he had, he really wanted to battle but, he had to stand there, holding his energy one more time before he could unleash it... or faint.
With was the issue, I mean this Pokemon was a fire type and had the advantage, all that fire power could get annoying. Seedot inhaled quickly, one more turn wasted with Bide.
Seedot is Biding is Time... Seedot was hurt by Burn...

"Go! Go! Go!" Kiyara called, caught up in the heat (no pun intended) of the battle. Artemis laughed softly to herself, and unleashed another Ember attack upon the biding seedot. It had to go down soon.... Grinning, she conjured the embers and launched them at the opposing pokemon. "You have nooo chance." she whispered softly.

Three. Absorb the Attack. Two. Store the Power. One. Remain Calm. Zero. UNLEASH IT FULL FORCE. The little seedot unleashed all the power that had been dealt to it, only stronger. It was all directed towards the growlithe in one terribly powerful attack. The raw power, erased the seedot's burn and even pumped it up a bit more.
While it hardened itself again, it realized something. No matter how powerfull bide was, and no matter how high his defense was, it would most likely lose since growlithes were fire pokemon. He needed major help. After using Harden, it let out a terrible screeching noise that was meant to be a cry for help to one of its friends.
::charmander:: ::totodile:: Friends didn't come, but two strangers to the seedot heard the cry and rushed forwards. A Charmander and a Totodile. They both had handkerchiefs tied around their neck, so they belonged to a nearby trainer. The Charmander jumped infront of the Seedot and shouted, <This battle is unfair, pick on someone your own size!> The Totodile, a mute, merely nodded in agreement as it also stood infront of the seedot. The Seedot backed itself away in the event of a battle between the pokemon infront of him.
A young teenage boy ran up behind his pokemon. He bent forwards, clearly out of breath from running. "Aw c'mon you guys, why do you have to run off like that?" Only after he spoke did he see the growlithe and its trainer. "What's going on here?" He straightened himself up and quickly introduced himself, "I'm Benji, and these are my pokemon, Scout the Charmander and Mute the Totodile." Charmander was named scout since he was a very fast and good tracker. Mute was named mute because well...he was mute.
Was this a trainer battle in the making?

Kiyara smiled politely, a little bit startled by the boy and his pokemon. "Uh, hi! I'm Kiyara... this is Artemis." she said, nodding at her growlithe, who was staring at the new pokemon in a bit of anger, frustration, and surprised-ness ((not a word, I know)). "Um...?" she began to say something else, but her eyes drifted towards her growlithe, who was talking angrily to the other pokemon, saying something that was beyond her. Would she be able to finish off the seedot? Kiyara flicked her big, cream-colored ears back and forth nervously, her tails waving calmly in the wind, although her heart was pounding against her rib cage a mile a minute.
Artemis scoffed, still wrapped up in the battle. "Yeah, tell it to the seedot. I wasn't the one who started this battle, y'know! It, like, nearly jumped on my trainer! What was a supposed to do? Let it run?" she shook her head. "Now, if you'll excuse me..." with a ferocious growl, she leapt towards the seedot one more time, another ember on breath... if she could only hit the seedot this one last time... maybe it would do the trick!

Scout had lunged at the Ember attack, attempting to throw it out of the way with an extended arm, but his claws couldn’t grasp around it, and instead grasped the cold spring air instead. The attack had hit the Seedot, making him give out one last cry before fainting in defeat.
Artemis gains a level
<You…I told you, that wasn’t fair!> The trainer’s Charmander gave a quick stomp of his feet in defiance towards the Growlithe. His teeth bit deep into his own lips, drawing tiny droplets of blood from the wound holes. His tail swished dangerously back in forth, his anger brewing from within. He had wanted to protect that Seedot, dangit. Not watch it faint before his eyes!
”Scout…Be reasonable…Pokemon Battles happen all of the time…That’s how we caught Totodile…” Benji raised his arms up in a submissive act, but it didn’t faze through the Charmander’s emotional breakdown. He charged right up to Artemis with a Scratch attack, with Mute silently cheering him on by ecstatically waving his arms around.

"Hey!!" Kiyara exclaimed as the charmander's claws slashed against her poor, tired, growlithe's fur. "What gives?" she stuck her hand in her bag, looking for a potion to use.
"Oh, yeah, this is MUCH more fair!" Artemis panted, her sides heaving. Blood fell from where Scout had scratched her fur. She tried to bite her attacker, but stumbled and fell, completely exhausted.
"Here! Artemis!" Kiyara rushed up, tails waving frantically, her ears twitching in worry. Her emerald eyes softened as she approached her panting pokemon, and sprayed her with the potion. "This'll help." she whispered before stepping back and crossing her arms, a little frustrated with this new trainer. Or his charmander, anyways. She raised an arched eyebrow at him expectantly.
Artemis felt a smile tug on her face as the strength returned to her worn-out limbs. She shook out her fur, fluffing out her tail and chest. "Okay, Scout." she said, the malevolent smile now obvious on her face. "Let's see how you like this!" She leapt forward, her jaws open, ready to bite.

Benji could only shrug at the questioning Ninetails morph, as much as he wanted to hide from her fiery eyes, he had to be a man. Geez. Being a man sucked. You had to put up with all kinds of crap, and he was only what, 13? He kept his hands locked in his jean pockets, trying to hide away the nervous sweat that poured out of them. He tried to roll his eyes as if he didn't care about anything, those gray eyes with a tiny hint of blue made him seem as if he truly didn't care.
"I think we have a trainer battle on our hands. Scout, get out of the way and use Leer!" Benji ordered with an uncertain expression on his face. It wasn't the most readable expressions around, making it a great poker face. In all honesty, this was their first trainer battle. He didn't have a clue on what to expect from the girl.
Scout found the order a little difficult to follow, since it was a little late. Those Growlithe fangs were simply not going to wait for him to dodge, and they managed to snag him on the thigh. Grunting off the pain, he sent a strong Leer in her direction. Enough to lower a Pokemon's defense power.
"Now use your Scratch." Benji called, proud to be the owner of such a cool Pokemon. The Charmander readily agreed, lunging at his attacker with fearsome claws.

Artemis quickly lunged out of the way, missing by a mere-millisecond. The opposing pokemon's sharp claws had ripped out a tuft of her bright orange fur. Angry, now, she turned. "You'll regret that..." she growled, leaping forward again, a fearsome bite riding on her lips.
"Oh. Kay." Kiyara said, blinking her blue-green-grey eyes a few times before turning back to the battle. She was unsure how to do this... this was her first battle as well. It looked as though Artemis was faring well, but she really wasn't sure. Turning back to the boy with a small grin, she muttered. "ummm... thisiskindamyfirstbattlesosorryifiscrewup, kayyy???" She grinned at him nervously, before looking to the battle a second time, a bit of worry hinting in her eyes, and twitching ears.

"Scout, stand your ground buddy!" Benji shouted as he watched the Growlithe prepare a Bite attack. Listening to his trainer's command, the Charmander simply stood there and took the painful bite attack on his left arm. "Now Scout, try and use a close range Scratch!" he commanded. The Charmander's keen claws quickly glowed a pale white hue, and were lashed out toward the foe's direction in hopes of causing some damage. Mute still cheered quietly on the side line.
"Umm, don't worry you'll get use to it soon!" The trainer shouted back over to his foe in a confident voice. He wasn't going to try and get into a serious converstation with her at the moment, at least not until the battle was over with.
