A narrow escape from a pervert is never a good way to start out your day.
She shuddered, her black hair shaking atop her small face. Her violet eyes batted away the fresh pollen in the air. Her long lashes had no problem with this simple function. In her hand, she gripped the small red and white container-ball that she had been given. She mentally shuddered, remembering the predator she had just gotten away from. Thank her lucky stars.
The bounce in her steps were loosing their uppity-ness. Seeming not to have that first thrill of getting a pokemon, she doubted her decision. She wasn't even sure if this was what she wanted to do. Pit one monster against another? That seemed somewhat inhumane, she thought in the back of her mind. But almost everyone participated, so it couldn't be that bad..
She pulled her arm up to observe the pokeball in her hand. She couldn't recall if the man had mentioned it's species or whatever. She brushed her mouth with her hand, and pressed the button curiously. To her happy surprise, a fire type came out. A ponyta, if she was correct. And she was rather confident in her assumption. It stomped around a bit, looking around. From the looks of it, it looked female. The way it strutted around with confidence was rather feminine.. but these days, who knows?
Cammie made a slight notion to bow, as if to gain some respect or trust of some sort. The pokemon snorted in approval, recognizing her master as Camilla. The human had no problem in providing a name. She had a special one in mind, whether the pokemon approved or not. " Er.. Right. Well hey. The name is Camilla, and I hope you like the name Ephemeral. It's yours now, and let's not bring it shame. "
[/b] She said rather awkwardly. She felt retarded, talking to a pokemon like this. But it seemed to understand, and whinny in approval.[/color][/sup][/blockquote][/blockquote]

A Combee fluttered above the branches of the trees, apparently in some type of fear that was clear from the panicked looks on his three faces. Those two tiny wings were struggling to beat faster and faster, however, his body was simply not capable of running around in such a mad manner. His body was covered in the alluring scent of honey, as if he had just finished a meal fresh off the bark.
<Run away! Flee to the heavens! In other words, get the heck out of here!> He cried out in alarm to all of the forms of life he happened to see. Or happened to not see. He was in such a panic, that he hadn’t quite seen the tree that magically materialized in front of him. With a swift ‘Offth!’ he collided with the solid, wooden statue. His flimsy body slid right down its rough surface, his moans could easily be heard by Camilla and Ephemeral.

How odd.
The ponyta curiously sniffed the small patches of grass that were starting to grow back from the winter. A nibble here and there showed approval as far as taste went. Camilla watched with little interest, but decided against talking, and only sighed out of boredom.
An odd silence filled the air between and around them. But soon, a cry of a wild creature filled it easily. A worried combee, obviously trying to elude someone or something, had crashed and burned. The fire-horse gave a few snorts of laughter, but pranced over with a concerned expression. Camilla accompanied her Pokémon.
" Eesh. That was a nasty crash. What are you in such a hurry for, bud ? "[/b] Her human speak was sure to make sense to the pokemon, but she was baffled if it was to respond. No matter, body language was always an option.[/color][/sup][/blockquote][/blockquote]

The Combee leapt back up into the air, rapidly fluttering around the human girl in an erratic manner; his voice couldn’t quite come out of his mouth, even though he desperately wanted to speak. It was one of those rare moments, where there was too much to say at once, and yet he couldn’t say a thing. The Combee finally got a couple of breaths in his system, before having an audible voice flow right out of him.
<Bugs! Bugs! They’re everywhere! Fighting. It’s awful! A war between species! > He whirled around the Ponyta, freaking out with each word that came out of his mouth. He quickly realized that the human might not be able to understand his language. How could one deliver a warning? He looked back and forth between her and a pair of pine trees, decorated in what looked like a silvery garland.
<Don’t go there. Alright? Tell everyone you see. They cannot get in the way…It’s too terrible.> He whimpered at the Ponyta, knowing at least she could understand him, before buzzing off to warn others about the impending danger.
An eerie scream echoes out from the direction of the silver trees. Investigate?

The yellow bug-type fretted around the flames of the ponyta's dangerous flame. But never once did the bug catch fire. That would have been a nasty fatality, thought the human female. She winced a couple times as it got a little too close, but all was well.
Seeming to be frightened, the ponyta listened. Some sort of fight was occurring? A war? She huffed in rage, what kind of juvenile behaviors were these feral pokemon participating in? The ponyta and the human followed it's gaze into the trees that surrounded them. Camilla showed no emotion on the matter, but she could understand the intensity the combee was trying to translate to her.
A final word of warning was said, and the yellow bug had buzzed off. There was a small moment of ominous silence, and the ponyta began to walk slowly into the forests. Camilla whistled in protest, scowling at the horse with her lavender eyes.
" That bug was obviously scared shitless. And he live's through it ! What are a stupid girl like me, and a wimpy horse like you gonna do about this ? Hm ? "
[/b] Her voice was bitter and harsh, but the ponyta stood her ground, continuing to walk into the green scenery. Camilla was not happy with this sort of disobedience, but she knew the ponyta had good reason. With an unhappy huff, she trailed after the fire-type to find the source of the problem. They followed the sounds of screams that echoed in the air.[/color][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Closer to Camilla and her fire maned pal, an Oddish was struggling to escape from a strange, sticky substance. It could've been easily been made into a sex joke, if the situation wasn't so grim. She yelped in response to a a sudden jerk, having tried to free herself from this String Shot for so long...All she ended up doing was hurting herself.
<Help...Someone help me...> She whimpered with her long leaves entangled in ways they shouldn't be. One could've told her to "man up", but gosh, that was hard when one didn't have any arms.

oh my.
As they ventured farther into the depths of the woods, they heard the cry of a small oddish. It was a pathetic call for help, barely audible to her human ears. Tangled in front of them was the small grass type, tangled in a mess of string shot. Camilla gasped, and bent down to try and help. Her hands deftly unwrapped the oddish, and scooped it up in her arms.
" Goodness... What the hell happened to you ... "
[/b] her voice trailed softly as she looked at the weakened Pokémon. Who had done this? Her ponyta stood beside Cammie with a fierce expression. Obviously she was waiting for an answer that her master had asked. Cammie knew as soon as they got an answer, the pokemon would bolt to find them. Cammie glowered at her, and was ready to scold her if necessary.[/color][/sup][/blockquote][/blockquote]

The Oddish whimpered as she was scooped up into Camilla’s arms, her leaves getting a sharp tug as she was being pulled away from their restricting grasp. Somehow, the human was able to get it off of her before it could seriously injure her string covered head. The String Shot attack had worn off once all of its sticky goo was removed from her body. With the most thankful eyes she could muster, she chirped in the human’s arms as a quick thank you. She didn’t resist her grasp around her round body in the slightest; she actually felt safer in her arms anyways.
<There’s an awful fight going on over there…They don’t look tough, but there’s so many of them.> She warned, her voice as dull as a used blade. She was dead serious. Her tiny ears on the sides of her head picked up on a quiet chant from the distance, slowly growing louder and louder as the trees in the distance began to turn a dim shade of white.
Three Wild Weedle Appear!
x 3
<Domination, abominations!> They repeated with the deadliest of glares. They didn’t appear intelligent, as they kept walking on top of the other in order to blast a String Shot at another tree. Who knew Weedles could be so territorial?
