Chromate finally released himself from his Focus Energy, looking about the battle field in a tranquil manner. It was as if he was at an inner peace with himself, albeit he still had the same, fiery attitude as before. Sensing the Natu's approach, his eyes remained fixed on the green target. He was a lot bigger than this tiny bird, and that gave him an advantage in physical strength.
"Take the hit. There's no way it can dodge your attack now." Seamus commented, though he really wondered if the Natu would be able to react to Chromate's fast reflexes. The Beedrill took the Peck as best as he could, trying to make the series of small jabs hit his strong stingers instead of his soft, weak body.
The Natu did get a few good hits in, making him his in pain as he retaliated with a poisonous Twineedle. Both of his stingers were being used, making his bright yellow body temporarily vulnerable as he charged towards the Natu.
Acetate's weaker backside was hit by the tackle, seeing that he was rather trapped from the String Shot. Nearly falling back in the sticky stuff, he forced himself free from the string trap. There was still a bit on his legs, slowing him down, but he was able to attack.
"Show it a real 'Tackle'. Use Take Down." Seamus remained neutral now, trying to add up the damage each Pokemon had received so far. Acetate was against a worm, which was already very weak, and then he was a steel type. Yeah, he was pretty sure that anything that Wurmple used wouldn't be able to hurt the Shieldon. Acetate grunted his agreement as he charged towards the Wurmple, his iron shield head being used as a weapon to do extra damage. There would be recoil, yes, but he felt like it was worth it.

Adrian turned to survey her Natu's efforts, eyes firm. However, Bird's situation was bleak - her fierce opponent had deflected much of her pecks and left her beak quite dull and sore. Not only that, but he was advancing with his huge stingers toward her. Thinking quickly, the woman called out, "Use Night Shade while he's wide open!" After all, the best offense was often the best defense. Natu bravely stood before the insect and aimed a sharp stare at his mind, forcing yet more waves in his general direction. The needles stabbed her, forcing more poisons through her body. The poor bird could feel the horrible pain run through her veins, but forced herself to keep going.
Worm saw the Shieldon rushing towards him, head bent down, and attempted to wriggle to the right to dodge the attack. Unfortunately, the little insect was too late - the hard head bashed into her even still, and she was once again flung to the ground. For a few moments, it seemed like she was done for; her body moved hardly an inch as she breathed shallowly. Adrian bit her lip as she looked on, eyes a tad worried for her little Wurmple. "Get up, my darling!" She called, confident in her pokemons' ability.
In reaction to her trainer's call, the worm stirred. With much effort she turned over until she was back on her feet. All over her little insect body were bruises, welts, and scrapes. One of her eyes, even, was swollen as she attempted to open it to survey her opponents - both of which seemed to be in prime fighting condition still. Worm was determined, however, to fulfill Adrian's wishes. Without a verbal command from her trainer, the little worm gave a screech and advanced toward the shield pokemon, wriggled madly toward him. Her head was bent, her goal to get one last attack against him before she fell.
Bird used Night Shade on Chromate!
Worm used Tackle on Acetate!

"Both of you. Hurry it up. " Seamus was obviously not all that phased by Adrian's passionate struggle to stay in the game. He had to admit that her Wurmple had some spunk, but it just didn't know when to quit. Honestly, it would've been better off just surrendering. What use could it possibly have now? He shrugged as if to answer his own question and gave a thoughtful look over to Chromate.
The Beedrill had just been knocked backwards from the Night Shade, taking exactly the same amount of damage as before. It wasn't the kind of attack that could be critical. It was fixated to a high degree to do the same amount of damage each time. It seemed quite weak, though the scientist supposed that it had its uses. "I'm done with this. Use your Ominous Wind." He replied, eager to take out this Natu and be done with it all. Certainly three super effective attacks would get the job done, yes? Otherwise he'd have to consider trading away Chromate for a more efficient Pokemon.
The Tackle, due to the Wurmple's tough emotional strength, actually managed to score a critical hit on the Shieldon. It was still a weak move, but it had done more than usual. He was surprised, and let it known with a loud snort. Already Acetate was starting to feel some fatigue from the battle, but he wasn't ready to go down.
"Body Slam it." Seamus commanded, once he gave a brief glance at the Shieldon's move list. Body Slam was more accurate than Take Down, so he felt like it was better to just go with that move. The Shieldon lifted his heavy body up by standing on his hind legs, then proceeded in his attempt to slam them down on the Wurmple's back.

Adrian pursed her lips. This was it. Her natu might have been hiding the pain, might have been trying to hold up, but this last attack was going to sap out the remainder of her strength. Both her Pokémon were going to lose, her beautiful duo once again defeated by these Pokémon. Her fist clenched, nails digging into her palm. She hated to lose, but this man deserved it. He had fought well and won fair and square.
The gym leader closed her eyes as the attack both hit their marks. Bird and Worm stood no chance and slumped to the ground, one next to the other. Even in death they remained together. A red light soon engulfed the two valiant warriors as Adrian returned them to their respective pokeballs.
Acetate and Chromate gain (1) level
The gym leader faced the trainer once again. "Thank you for the wonderful battle. I truly hope you have learned the beauty of two pokemon, fighting together as one. As proof of your victory, here is the Symmetry badge. It will be a constant reminder of the beauty of a double battle." This was not Adrian's favorite part of being a gym leader, but such a speech was more or less required of her.
You've received.. The Symmetry badge!Symmetry Badge [+5000PD] All Pokémon owned by trainer gains (1) level!

'Feh. About damn time I got a badge.' The dark haired man thought with an annoyed expression plastered on his face, moving several raven colored bangs out of his face. It looked as if the young Gym Leader had finally admitted her defeat as soon as Acetate and Chromate sent Bird and Worm to the edge. What stupid names, honestly, why had he even bothered to remember them? Curious about his own Pokemon's reactions, he glanced over at them, pretending that he wasn't interested in their emotions.
<Suh-sweet. I totally wasn't worried or nuthin'. Not at all. Nada.> The Beedrill responded with a haughty air, flicking his nose away from the defeated team to mimic his master's attitude. His wings beat rapidly in a thick buzzing noise, ridding the gym of its silence.
<...well you try staying out here since turn one.> The Shieldon commented, looking a bit tired from all of the moving around. He picked at the string shot remaining on his legs with his teeth, tossing it off carelessly now that he had the freedom to do so.
Seamus flinched once Adrian walked up to him, not paying attention to her in the slightest. As she handed him the badge, he cautiously picked it up while avoiding contact with her hands. Trying to hide a blush, he looked down at his feet and adjusted his glasses.
"Y-yes, w-ell. You did fine t-too." He gasped out, suddenly walking backwards so he could enjoy his personal space. Slipping the badge into his pocket, he reached for his remaining Pokeballs and recalled his two Pokemon. With a final nod towards the Gym Leader, he exited Electric City.
