Finally. FINALLY!
All the years of begging, all the days of pleading and nagging at each Pokémon that went through his mother's pokecenter, mom and dad had finally released him from their parental clutches and left him to make his way in the world!
...So what if he got a bit lost along the way, and was a few days late. He had still managed to get to the ranger station! That was all that mattered, right? He hoped so at least, though there was the small nag, he had hoped to be there a few days earlier.
"Maybe they won't flip out on me." He huffed as he tugged on a lock of his long blond hair, nervously shifting it up into a tight ponytail as he tilted his head up at the sign. The lab was one way, the rangers station the other, for a moment he was tempted to go to the lab, then he'd be able to know what he was going to get, but what fun would that be? So he took the right rout, twisting his direction, the game of chance was a far to amusing one to pass up.
With a new urge, he nearly skipped his way to the station, entering with a bright grin and a cocky attitude, though it did take a pause as he leaned forward, rocking up onto his toes as he bent his body at the hips. His constant animation often had him striking such odd postures, much like a hyper active child. Though that was lost from him as he cocked his head, looking first to the left, then the right.
"Huh...Anyone here?" He called, a mix of curiosity, nerves, and impatience ringing through in his voice.

Ranger Elisse! In fact, there were hardly any Rangers around - most of them were out in the back enclosure, carrying out their duties of caring for the habitat that hundreds of Pokémon took refuge in. Only few, if not just one woman, were around.
The woman was nestled into a chair facing away from Aki so that her back was the only thing visible. A dark purple robe was draped over her shoulders, trailing down to her ankles; upon her feet were slightly worn shoes. She seemed to be concentrated on something on the table in front of her, not responding to Aki's voice. Alhough it was hardly a cold day, her entire body was quivering in an unnatural way.
The badge upon her chest signified that she was, in fact, a ranger.

Well, that was nice, only one ranger around, and she was sleeping? Aki had to pull his lips into a small scowl at that, some attitude showing through his normally bright demeanor as he eyed the slouched figure, almost ready to leave her with a few snappy replies. Though it would be useless to provoke the ranger, lest he piss her off and thus make her refuse him for a pokemon.
So instead he sighed, and poked his head into the half open flap of the tent, pausing once he was partway in to give a soft call. "Hey..." He started, watching the woman until he figured out that the small motions were not conductive of that of a healthy person. It was worm out, no need for shivering, yet she was clearly trembling. Not to great to start things off with, and more concerning that the ranger was quaking in her seat.
"Ah...Are you...Okay over there?" He started again, his high voice seeming painfully loud in the tent as he finally pushed himself all the way in. Though this time he forgot about pokemon, and instead concentrated on his worry for the girl; soon slowly reaching his hand out to touch her shoulder and shake her, to see if he could get a response out of that. "Why you shakin' like that?"

Ranger Elisse ! The Ranger did not respond at first to the boy's verbal prodding until he shook her, to which she stood quickly out of the chair. Just as quickly, the crazed woman turned around to look at the small boy that had touched her. "You...!" She whispered loudly, her pupils dilated as she fired her intense stare at him.
"Come with me. It's dangerous here." She said, ushering Aki with her hand to follow her. On the way there were a few small packs sitting on a rack; she picked one up and forced it toward the boy. "Use this to protect yourself," She said worriedly, walking fast toward the enclosure.
You recieved: x 5 x 3 x 1 Elisse looked back at the boy to see if he was still following her; then, reaching in the folds of her robes, she removed a pokeball from her personage. Flinging it, her lips seemed to move if she were chanting an incantation. Out of the pokeball came a small Cleffa - but this one seemed to act, in every way, like her owner. <Danger!? Is there danger!?> Squeaked the little Pokémon.
"Hurry, my gargantuan Pokémon! Protect us while we escape!" Screeched the woman, shambling on with her Cleffa by her side.
There was no hiding it. This woman was clearly insane.

When the woman suddenly turned, Aki jolted back in surprise, the normal tingle of adrenaline trickling down his arms and legs from the shock of surprise that had him jumping just moments ago. Though that didn't stop the wide-eyed stare that blinked from his face onto the woman's. Of course he had to get the crazy one, it was always the crazy ones, wasn't it?
"Dangerous...?" He soon parroted back to her, glancing around the tent. Which was just that, a tent, in broad daylight, in the middle of an area surrounded by rangers. "I don't think-" He started, until the bag was nearly shoved into his gut, forcing a small 'oomph' of air out from his lungs before he had time to snatch the thing into his slim fingers. Curiosity urged him forward, to peek into the bag. Some pokeballs, potions, stuff, not weapons by any means, and unless he could hit something over the head with the bag, not exactly an effective means to protect himself.
Yup. This lady was crazy. Not only a little bit either, she was off her rocker. Though was apparently sane enough to carry around a pokemon, even if she was talking to the ball it was carried in and once again making him furrow his brows in confusion. What kind of pokemon would go with some insane lady like her?
His answer came in the form of something cute, tiny, and pink. Almost instantly he resisted the urge to squeal and hug the tiny cleffa, loving the cute little pokemon the moment his eyes settled onto its tiny form. Even if it seemed as neurotic and crazy as its trainer. "Ooooh! She's adorable!" He cooed, having to force himself still as to not dart to the thing, which the crazy lady soon called gargantuan. Again he turned his head with confusion written all over his face. Cleffas were anything but gargantuan, and were in fact one of the smallest pokemon around; gargantuan was a Steelix. And this Cleffa was not a Steelix.
But either way, she was taking him somewhere, and he wanted a pokemon, so he sighed and trudged after her and the cute Cleffa; wondering if she was going to give him a pokemon or go drown him in the lake because he was a demon or something. "Where...Are we going?" He asked after a moment, trying to sound casual as he forced himself to trot to close the distance between them, still keeping the bag to his chest.

Ranger Elisse ! At the boy's comment, Elisse quickly turned back to face him. Fire seemed to take the place of her eyes. "She is not adorable.." She said in a haunting voice, giving no more explanation than that. At his next question, she simply shushed him quietly.
They came to a clearing in the middle of the enclosure. Elisse pulled the robes closer over herself and looked around with a paranoid, hollow expression. Then, bending, she whispered something to her Pokémon. The little Cleffa gave a gasp of pure horror, then ran away hurriedly. After the puny pink thing left, the ranger stood and fumbled all the while, surveying the area constantly.
Finally, the Cleffa came back screaming. An odd blue disc-like Pokémon was trailing behind her with a blank expression on his face. When she saw it, Elisse also screamed. "It came! It came!!" She screeched, shaking.
The shaking caused a pokeball to drop out of her bag, rolling slightly toward Aki. How convenient.

"She is not adorable."
O-...kay then...? The fire in the woman's eyes made him lean back with his own growing slightly wide. This lady was absolutely mad, freaken'...crazy ass lady. "Ah...whatever you say..." He muttered back to her in a slightly forced tone of apology, giving her an odd look.
Now he was keeping a distance from the woman, a gap of about six feet, not enough to be wholly impolite, but enough to keep out of her arm's reach. Aki didn't know if she was going to go bonkers and try and get him for whatever reason her insane mind could probably fathom, he didn't really want to know the reasons either. But he watched from his spot as the Cleffa ran off, nearly in its own hysterics and making him sigh quietly. This was going to be an interesting time, wasn't it?
But just as soon as the Cleffa took off, it came back, announcing its presence with a rather shrill sound gaining his attention. And the moment that the woman saw her pokemon, she screamed too. Which only served to confuse him more, he knew what the pokemon was, but was more familiar with its evolution, that tended to frequent the centers more than this stage of it's life.
Though those facts didn't stop him from blinking at the pokeball that bumped into his toes, soon reaching down to pick it up as he looked at the two screaming ones. "Its...okay? I got this?" He worded with a small less than impressed look at the woman and her pokemon, soon aiming, then cocking his arm back to hurl the ball at the Bronzor. If anything he'd hit it and make it go away to shut them both up?

Ranger Elisse ! The two did not stop screaming until they saw the boy toss a pokeball squarely at the 'fearful' Bronzor. Wordlessly the machine-like pokemon looked up and was surprised to see the object hurtling quickly towards it. There was no time to run before the sphere engulfed its circular body in a scarlet aura, clamping shut and falling to the ground.
The pokeball rolled for a long time before finally coming to a halt, giving off a bleep signalling capture.
Elisse and her Cleffa stared down at the stilled sphere for a few moments, stunned into silence. Then, suddenly, Elisse turned her head to face Aki. "I was wrong about you.. our savior!" She exclaimed, kneeling down and bowing in front of him. Her Cleffa followed her actions, just as oddly if not even more so.
You caught a Bronzor!

Okay, ignoring the two loons next to him, Aki eagerly watched the red and white ball sail to the pokemon, the emotionless yellow eyes widening some before the ball smacked it upside the head. Well, face-ish area, as it really didn't have a head; then suck it up in a red glow and drag it into its new home. Or what he hoped was its new home.
It was a few tense moments as the ball wiggled, wiggled again, then a final third time before making the soft chime and settling onto the ground. The pokemon was caught, he caught his first pokemon! He was elated, granted it kinda seemed to be an odd pokemon, but this one was his! In his joy he almost missed the two crazies turning, bowing to him and claiming him to be their savior, to which he gave them a small look of confusion.
"It was just a Bronzor..." He trailed off as he skipped away to grab the ball, hugging it close with the brightest grin. "And now its Miiiine!" He sang, squirming in place before cocking his head. "I'll call you...Notre. Yeah. Notre it is!"
