Walking up to the Ranger Station without a pause, Eleanor briskly entered the Ranger tent, surveying her surroundings with a haughty gaze. What a dump.
Still, the Pokémon she obtained here would be accustomed to the wild and more able to adapt to battling again. This was a vital difference as far as Eleanor was concerned.
She was quite determined to make whatever Pokémon she obtained a strong, mature fighter, but still, she hoped that she wouldn't get something pathetic, like a Rattata, a Wurmple, or God forbid... a Sunkern.

::banette:: Ranger Jorge
"Bane ban?"
A quiet, calculating crackle of a voice stood out in the silence of one of the Ranger fields. It was a good place for training, especially since the Wild Pokemon around here tended to be very tame. It was an easy walk through the field, at least generally, and it was very rare if someone was even attacked out in these parts. The Ranger paused during his afternoon job, trying to see why his Pokemon stopped trailing behind him so suddenly.
"Veale, what's up?" He asked, panting as he rested his hands on his knees, completely soaked in quiet. The Banette gazed mysteriously at the sky, as if contemplating some deep thought, when a low rumble glided across the sky. The Ranger looked up in surprise, standing up perfectly straight as he examined the sky for himself.
"...well, I'm not going to be the mobile lightning rod today. Let's head back." He sighed in defeat, moving in a retrograde motion back to the Ranger Tent. The Banette clung to his soaking wet back, glad to have a free ride. Lifting up the flap so it wouldn't whack Veale in the head, the Ranger looked up in surprise when he saw someone already there.
"...Did you really just waltz in here?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at this new comer. She looked like a quiet person, which rattled his nerves a bit. His Banette peaked over his shoulder curiously, trying to get a good look at the person.

As a Ranger and his Banette entered the Ranger Tent, Eleanor looked at him with false coyness in her voice and eyes. "Yes I just "waltzed in here." Do you have a problem with that?"
"Besides that, I thought we came here to get Pokemon. If I'm supposed to wait while you're out getting your exercise, maybe I'd be better off going to the Lab." She stared coolly at Jorge, and eyebrow raised just high enough to be condescending. The concept of manners did not impact upon Eleanor. She viewed Jorge's absence as incompetence, even though it was perfectly reasonable for him to be out of the Ranger Tent sometimes.

::banette:: Ranger Jorge
The male looked miffed when the stranger made that kind of statement at him, but he wasn't about to let her get away with it. Sure, the Ranger Tent was a community service, but that didn't mean that they could walk in. For all he knew, she could be a thief or something. Deciding to call her on her challenge, he smirked with a cocky tilt of his head.
"Well then, why don't you go there. I don't help out people that act like a total bitch. Go." He commanded, with his Banette hovering behind him tentatively. It wasn't sure whether it should intervene or not, not fully understanding why the situation got so tense in the first place. Making a gesture like the hitchhikers thumb, except pointing at the door, he glared at Eleanor sternly.
"Learn how things work around here, then come back." He smirked, glad to be in power for once. Hopefully she didn't take anything, like a Starter Pack, but it didn't appear that she had taken one before he came in here. Man, he hoped that she left in a retrograde manner before he had to use force.

Eleanor smiled softly. "You're demanding. I like that." She offered a hand for him to shake. "My name is Eleanor Rose. I apologize for my earlier rudeness." She tilted her head at Jorge.
Though her apology was not sincere, her appraisal of the man was. She liked his reaction to her rudeness. A sniveling oaf would have gotten a cold glance, but he had drawn a smile, something that had become rare in recent days.

Ranger Jorge
The Ranger looked at the hand apprehensively before deciding that there weren't any funny tricks up those sleeves of hers. Returning with a firm handshake of his own, he grinned back at the woman in front of him. He could hear his Banette's confused mumblings behind him, but he chose to ignore it.
"I'd rather get your Pokemon ASAP, Eleanor. I've got a bad feeling about the weather." Jorge admitted sheepishly, but chose to rummage through some of the boxes that were left scattered on the floor for a starter pack. Picking one of them up, he handed it to the new trainer. "Pokeballs, Potions, and a Pokedex. All free." He explained as he made a hand motion for Veale to follow him out of the tent.
Veale saw the open Ranger field become haunted with the gloomy clouds overhead, and in a frightened scamper it fled off into the distance, eager to get a Pokemon and hurry back. It ended up finding a small Larvitar hiding behind a large rock, looking up nervously at the sky. With a sneaky snicker, the Banette knocked it out with a sole Sucker Punch and dragged it back to its partner.
"...that's rare." Jorge commented in surprise, taking out a Pokeball and giving it a toss at the fainted Pokemon. It hardly had the strength to fight the sphere, due to Veale's high level. Within two shakes, the beast was caught. Looking at the Pokeball in awe, he plucked it from the ground and went to hand it to its new owner.

Sophia took the Starter Pack with another false smile. However, this smile quickly became real when nothing more than a Larvitar was placed before her. She stroked the smooth green surface and breathed outwards in awe.
"Thank you." She didn't even look at Jorge as she took the Pokeball, but soon composed herself, and with a coy smile, she threw the Pokeball at the Pokemon, watching it become sucked in with a smile, before picking it up.
"Have a nice life." She smiled at Jorge and skipped out of the Ranger Tent with her new Pokemon.
