Today was a big day for Satomi and her family, though it would be a big day for anyone. She said her bittersweet goodbyes to her mother and little brother, knowing that the next time she would see them again was in the distant future. She had grown so accustomed to being around people she knew, and knowing that she was going to be on her own from now on caused her to become nervous. It was natural, though, to become frightened by the thought of becoming independent. Her hands slightly shook as she grabbed her bag and closed the front door behind her.
As she approached the fork in the road she was forced to make the first decision of her journey. She knew that the Lab held great starter pokemon, though trying to choose out of the line-up would be a tougher decision than the one she faced now. Then there was the Ranger Station. If she decided to go in that direction, Satomi would have to turn to luck since the starter was randomly caught from the wild without her say. She stood at the sign for a good few minutes, carefully debating which would be the best for her, finally settling on going to the station.
It wasn't long before the characteristic tent that was the Ranger Station appeared in front of her. Slowly and nervously, Satomi walked up to the somewhat open front flap. She wasn't sure if she should just barge right in like she was a familiar here or stand out here and wait. "Hello?" she called out faintly, hoping that at least one of the Rangers heard her.

::Rangerm:: Ranger Tony
The rowdyness inside of the tent was Satomi's faint hello, as it appeared that there was a bunch of people within it having a heated argument. The sound of glass breaking pierced through the wall of people's chatter, and soon more stuff sounded like it was being tossed over violently to the side. When the tent flap finally opened, it wasn't a Ranger that came out, but a small Munchlax carrying a giant, cooked chicken.
"Munchlax!" It cried with a superior snicker, looking back at the disorder within the tent as it walked out, not even noticing Satomi's presence. What happened instead was that it bumped right into her, dropping the delicious chicken right on the grass. Rubbing its head in pain, the Munchlax looked around in a daze until he remembered that its hands shouldn't be empty. Turning to see its stolen prize, it gasped in horror.
'NO! NOT THE CHICKEN!' It thought, gasping in horror at its soiled meal. Not long after that the commotion in the Ranger Tent stopped as one of them ran right outside, about to collide with Satomi.

The sounds of breaking glass caught her attention. Satomi was hesitant to approach the tent now, especially since what ever was going on inside seemed far to dangerous. She contemplated turning back and heading toward the Laboratory, though what exited the station kept her in her place. It was a Munchlax, a type of Pokémon she's never came in close contact with.
As it came closer, finally bumping into her and dropping its prize, Satomi took a few stumbling steps backward. She was always wary around Pokémon whether it be a little Wurmple or a Vulpix. She turned toward the tent getting ready to walk up to it when one of the Rangers ran out. Seeing that the Ranger was paying more attention to the Munchlax to notice her presence, she moved off to the side hopefully avoiding the near collision. "W-what's going on?" she asked the Ranger nervously.

::rangerm:: ::graveler:: Ranger Tony
Satomi was smart to move to the side in time, but Ranger Tony still brushed into her side on his way down. Either giving her a rough nudge or enough to make her lose her balance and fall down, depending on how much of a klutz she was. Groaning as he nearly landed on the Munchlax, he blinked in a daze as the fat Pokemon stared at him in shock. W-what was this guy doing, chasing after it like that in such a rough manner? The Munchlax took a hesitant step backwards, but before it could get very far, yet another Pokemon dashed through the tent flap. It was big, and it was heavy. A large Graveler stepped right over her trainer in her attempt to grab the wild Munchlax with her four arms. The Munchlax was being tricky though, and started to wiggle its fingers. Ranger Tony’s eyes widened in fright when it recognized the dangerous move it was about to preform, and quickly snatched up a Pokeball and threw it at the creature. Eyes widening in shock as the Munchlax was sucked inside of it, both Tony and his Graveler watched in stunned awe as the Pokemon was finally caught. Huh, and it hardly had any damage done to it either. That was a rare occurance. ”…uh. You wouldn’t happen to be here for your first Pokemon, would you?” Tony asked breathlessly as he struggled to stand up, but his Graveler sure gave his back a beating. The rock type merely shrugged her shoulders and picked the ball up, examining the creature within it curiously. It was a feisty one; that much she knew. Perhaps it would be too difficult of a starting Pokemon, just like she was with her partner. ”If so…I can’t keep this Munchlax. Rules say that the first Pokemon I find has to go to the trainer.” He explained, somehow standing up with an arched back. He motioned for his Graveler to hand her the Pokeball while he fumbled for a Starter Pack that was clipped onto his belt. You get: ::munchlax:: MunchlaxLevel: 5 Abilities: { Pickup + Thick Fat } Attacks: Metronome (we have a generator for this in the rules, so try not to use it for moves that will always help your fights), Odor Sleuth, Tackle, Defense Curl x 5 x 3 x1 [/font]

Satomi stumbled off to the side as the Ranger bumped into her. If she was anything like her sister, she would tell the guy off without a second thought. Luckily for him, she was the complete opposite. She steadied herself and watched in confusion as the event played out. A Graveler, who she guessed was the Ranger’s own pokemon, came out of the tent, and attempted to catch the Munchlax itself. However, the baby pokemon begun to execute a move, one of which Satomi was unsure of, which startled the Ranger.
She observed in awe as the pokemon was encased in a celestial-like light which was sucked into the poke ball. Her focus on the ball was cut off by the Ranger’s question. “Um, yeah, that’s why I’m here,” she replied. She wasn’t at all sure if she would be able to handle the Munchlax, especially since she was just starting out as a trainer. It seemed like a hand full seeing that it nearly destroyed the whole tent in its quest for food. As she carefully took the ball from the Graveler and took the Starter Pack from the Ranger, she was quite delighted that she just received her first pokemon even though worry still filled her thoughts.
She smiled briefly, thanked the two for their help, and turned toward the path that led to the main road. She was finally ready to start her own journey in the world of Pokemon with her Munchlax at her side. Satomi was finally able to follow in her father and sister’s footsteps, a dream she always dreamt of during her hospitalization. However easy it was for her to gain her first pokemon, from here on her life would be filled with challenge after challenge, many she may fail at overcoming the first try. She readily accepted that, having faith in her pokemon, and turned towards the first stop on her journey: Route 1.
