Sophia saw the Caterpie crawling around the tree and almost chuckled, but resisted the urge to do so, albeit barely. She seemed to almost be worshipping this tree, and the sheer possibility of that had Sophia resisting hysterics once again. She stifled her mirth with a hand over her face. As the caterpie actually began hugging the tree, the sight was just too funny to resist laughing at, and Sophia let her chuckling loose, doubling over until she eventually sighed, wiping her eyes as she stood up straight again. Conduit stared curiously at Sophia and the Caterpie, not sure which was stranger to him right now. ::shinx::

HAHAHAHA. gigglesnort gigglegiggle.
What in Arceus's good world was that horrendous sound? Letting go of the tree to find out what was mocking her, the Caterpie's giant eyes settled on Sophia. That human was making such an awful racket? Even worse, she was looking right at her. Blushing in embarrassment and rage, she wasn't sure which was the dominant feeling, she shook her head to try and clear her head. Yes, yes. This was all a bad dream...wasn't it?
But that infuriating laughing! The sound was burned into her head, an endless torment that would most likely haunt her dreams. Staring up at Sophia with her cheeks still a rosy red, the Caterpie decided that she had enough of her teasing. She looked like a trainer, yes? And Wild Pokemon were free to attack tame Pokemon at will. Sure, the Shinx wasn't doing anything but she felt slightly guilty about attacking a weak human.
<Shut her up!> She raged, charging towards Conduit with an angry Tackle attack. Her body inched up and down in a silly looking fashion, but she was quite quick for her size.

Woah.... Now it was getting serious. The Caterpie tackled poor Conduit, and Sophia yelled in indignation and shock as Conduit squeaked, pushed backwards by the fast little Pokemon. Jumping in front of Conduit to protect him, she lifted her foot, almost as if to kick the Caterpie. But then she stopped, lowering her foot and looking at it like a monster she wanted to stab. Goddammit. She had almost just kicked a Caterpie that had tried to hug a tree. Pokemon battles needed to be left to the Pokemon. "Conduit! Tackle it right back!@ yelled Sophia, clenching her fists, still shocked at how close she came to kicking the little Caterpie. ::shinx:: Conduit used Tackle.

The Caterpie was so filled with rage that she didn't even react to the trainer's kicking motion. She grimaced as she made her first successful Tackle on the Shinx, feeling a bit proud and sad at the same time. Battling usually wasn't her thing, but she hated being embarrassed. Hated it. Punishment for those that even thought of laughing at her, whether they meant ill by it or not.
Seeing the gap that opened up after shoving her body into the Shinx, her opponent quickly filled it up with a Tackle of his own. It was much too fast to dodge, and ended up making her do a forced somersault. Wincing as she rolled over her head, she stood back up, dizzy, but otherwise ok.
She needed to do something to slow down that Shinx, and she had just the move to do it. Spitting some thread into her hands to test the substance, she nodded to herself, as if agreeing that she could use it successfully. She sprayed a sticky String Shot at the Shinx, trying to make it harder for him to move.

Sophia gasped as the gooey white string enveloped her Shinx from the neck down, and he squeaked pitifully as he struggled against it, breaking out of it partially, but Conduit still had patches around his chest, back and legs, making his movement lethargic and not up to the usual standard of a small Pokemon like Conduit. "Conduit, use Growl and break its guard, then follow it up with a Tackle attack!" demanded Sophia, looking at Conduit with a concerned look on her face. A high pitched, yet still loud growl emerged from his lightly rumbling throat, before he rushed at the Caterpie in a second Tackle attack, despite his slower music due to the Bug Pokemon's String Shot. ::shinx:: Conduit used Tackle. ::caterpie:: Pkmn battle ! Caterpie attempted once more to dodge the shinx's tackle, but even though the blue feline was coated with her string shot he was still quick enough to overwhelm the slow little worm. As usual the little insect was bruised and battered by the slam, giving a squeak of pain as she was tossed aside by its force.
Pushing herself back up, the little caterpillar shook her head and looked fiercely at her opponent. She couldn't let herself be beaten by these .. aipoms! Giving a noise of rage, the Caterpie fired off yet another web of sticky string at the blue Shinx.

Sophia gasped as a second barrage of gooey white string enveloped her poor Shinx. He struggled against the powerful white captive but even though he broke free, more stuck again, leaving his moves more and more lethargic. Remembering his moveset, Sophia facepalmed as she recalled that Growl wasn't in Shinx's techniques; it was Leer. Use Leer and Tackle!@ she demanded of her Pokemon, hoping the Leer would make up for the String Shot. Conduit rushed for the Caterpie in a Tackle, glaring at the inpudent bugg with all his feline might as he did so. ::shinx:: Conduit used Leer and Tackle.

Yes! The Shinx seemed to be slower, which was a good thing for her. The Leer that was focused on her; however, was not. The tiny bug pokémon shuddered slightly at the move, recoiling as the tackle struck her harder in the stomach. Coughing and spluttering from the move, trying to regain her composure, the caterpie prepared for her own attack.
Pushing all the strength she could muster into her own Tackle, the Caterpie shot towards the Shinx in a counter-attack, aiming for the blue feline's flank.
She was aching a little, but the fury of the Trainer laughing at her kept her strong enough to keep battling; at least for the time being. You know what they say; Hell Hath No Fury Like A Caterpie Scorned! And oh how furious the little caterpie was!

The String Shot residue kept Conduit from dodging adequately, and he was forced back several centimeters by the Caterpie's Tackle, digging his tiny claws into the ground to keep his footing steady. "Nice one, Conduit!" exclaimed Sophia with a cheer. "Give it another Leer and Tackle it again! We're almost done!"Conduit obeyed Sophia's orders, bowing his head and staring right into the little Caterpie's big black eyes. He would overcome it if it was the last thing he did. He was serious. Maybe even a little too serious considering his opponent was an irritated worm. Rushing towards the Caterpie in another Tackle, he went straight for her face, lowering his head to increase the strength of the attack. ::shinx:: Conduit used Leer and Tackle. [/B]

::caterpie:: Pkmn encounter ! Caterpie was at close range with the Shinx, giving her hardly any time to dodge the coming attack - that is, if it wasn't paired with a glare first. Even before the little blue sphinx was giving her the evil eye the worm wriggled quickly to the side, determined to dodge the next attack. It was futile, but she'd managed to avoid most of the impact either way.
The Caterpie pushed herself up, panting softly, and turned toward Conduit with a fierce stare. The leers she'd collected up to this point were getting to be troublesome; with all that defense lost, she'd probably go down in the next turn or the turn after that. She had to make these last moments count.
She rushed forward, attempting to land another Tackle on the slowed feline.

Conduit was pushed back again. He staggered this time. The Bug Pokemon's continuous Tackles were taking their toll on him, and he needed to finish this battle quickly if he wanted to get out unharmed. Sophia had come to the conclusion that Conduit's Leers were giving the irritating Caterpie the chance to dodge his Tackles, and so, forgetting about Leer for the time being, simply ordered Consuit to Tackle his opponent, and he did so, instantly steadying himself and charging for the Caterpie. ::shinx:: Conduit used Tackle! With less time to dodge the incoming Tackle attack, the Caterpie found herself in a tricky situation when the move made it hard for her to get back on her feet. No! No! No! She was not going to let herself go down like this to these uneducated beasts! They knew nothing about religion, and had to be punished for their sins! She cried out a battle cry as she shot another String Shot at the Shinx, in hope of being able to dodge more of those Tackle attacks.
<There is no way I'll lose to you. No way!> She gasped out, trying to get in as much fresh air as possible when she breathed out more String Shot at her opponent. Tackling the Shinx seemed like a lot of effort, and she'd rather conserve her strength by staying put for now.

It didn't seem like the Caterpie could take much more. However, already having a bug Pokemon in the form of her Wurmple, Sophia didn't particularly want a Caterpie. Still, it was good battle experience for Conduit. Speaking of Conduit, he was getting hit by yet another String Shot. It was almost impossible for him to move now. Looked like he wouldn't be using anymore Leers in the near future. "Stick to it, Conduit! Tackle again!" she commanded, and Conduit tried his best to run fast enough to hit the irritating Caterpie. ::shinx:: Conduit used Tackle.

Recoiling before the move was even used, the Caterpie watched helplessly as the Tackle attack came at her with frightening determination. She felt so justified in standing up for herself though, that she didn't have many regrets from it all. Sure, she wished that she was much stronger than the Shinx, but at least she had more of a brain. She hissed as he tackled her side rather harshly, making her whimper in pain as she curled up into a weak ball after the beating.
Feeling her conscious leave her, the Caterpie easily fainted from that last move. Her breathing remained gentle, yet she twitched occasionally from the pain of the fight. She mumbled a few things, imagining that she was still in the fight and actually winning against the Shinx.

Having no desire to keep the over-religious worm, Sophia patted Conduit with a smile, making him make a sound akin to purring. Still, even though she had so viciously attacked, she was doing it for her own reasons. Picking up the tiny green form, she placed her beside the tree she had so fiercely fought to defend. Hopefully that would serve some small comfort to the tiny Caterpie. With that, Sophia and Conduit moved on. ::shinx::

[[Talis, you will have to make a pc soon. It gets hard keeping track of everything, and it isn't that hard to make one either. ]]
Dangling down from a thick branch that reached for the sky, a funky acorn had it's top hat attached, absorbing the life energy from the tree. She kicked her legs against the cool air that gave her the feeling of flight, feeling content with her meal. The nutrients around here were very flavorful, and she enjoyed the meal she got at the highest tree branches! Sure, it was a bit scary getting down, but one tree branch could last her a week. Which gave her plenty of time to get over her fears, thank goodness.
<Oh. Is that a Shinx?> She asked herself, not certain whether there was anyone else within hearing distance when she was so high up. But then again, when one was only a foot tall, there was a very different perspective to be had. The human could probably jump up and grab her by her feet if she so wished.

[Made one at laaast] Sophia was walking underneath a tree when she heard the sound of a Seedot in the tree above. It sounded curious, and looking up at the tree, her thoughts were confirmed as she saw the acorn-like Pokemon standing there. "Hey there. What are you doing up there?" asked Sophia with a smile, sitting at the base of the tree and looking up at Seedot. "You've climbed pretty high today, haven't you?"Conduit looked curiously at Sophia. She had communicated well with a Pokemon before, and now she was attempting it again. Her upbringing around Pokemon insured this, and she was hoping it would work as well on this Seedot as it had on the Wurmple at the beginning of the Route. ::shinx::

With the human's soft footsteps approaching her, the Seedot's head perked up in amusement, eyes observing all of the little details that decorated Sophia's body. She sure liked to wear a lot of things; it looked heavy, but pretty. She thought about wearing something like clothing out of the nearby leaves once, but she wasn't sure about how to make them stick together. Did they use some kind of sticky stuff or something? The most she could think of was a worm's fine thread, but she wasn't good friends with any.
<Oh, so you've noticed me? Wow, you have good eyes, miss.> The Seedot giggled, feeling tall and mighty when her feet were above the human's head. The Shinx didn't seem to want to pay any attention to her though, which bothered her. Everyone should be involved in a conversation!
<Hello to you, down there as well. Where are you headed?> She asked, her eyes peering down at the duo curiously. It was so interesting hearing the stories of travelers; especially if they went to far places.

>We're going to the Pokemon League.< Conduit spoke with pride in his voice. >Sophia is gonna make me the strongest Pokemon in the world.< He jutted his nose into the air with obvious pride. "What he said... whatever it was." Sophia laughed as she stroked Conduit's rough, blue fur, causing him to purr again. "I wish we could find some Berries or something." Sophia blushed as her stomach rumbled. ::shinx::

<Strongest Pokemon in the world? Wow, how are you gonna do that? Beat every Pokemon?> She asked curiously, not frightened by the Shinx in the slightest. She was starting to get a tad lonely up in the tree by herself, and she decided to release her sticky acorn hat from the branch she was on, making an easy landing on her feet. She giggled as he looked up at Sophia and the Shinx, finding her hungry tummy the silliest thing she ever heard.
<Berries? You mean the things that plant eaters eat? I eat off of the trees, which I guess is a plant, but I don't eat the things on it.> The Seedot explained, though she imagine that she could if she tried. Those berries were simply very competitive to find and eat though, and she never thought it was worth it.
<Hehe. I thought that you were gonna go to the league miss. Isn't it obvious that you gotta bring your own food, ya goof?> She laughed teasingly, having a child's innocence. She had no shame for what she was saying, because she didn't realize what was polite, and what wasn't. Being alone a lot didn't teach you manners, she supposed.
