OOC: Nah, it's great. Just do whatever you like. BIC: Sophia smiled as the seedling sang and hummed along to herself, while Alex mumbled in his sleep, making Sophia laugh as he snored. Upon hearing that the water was just around the corner... she didn't know what to think, because she didn't speak Seedot. Alas. She pushed through the bushes with all her strength, hoping to come across berries or water on the other side. ::wurmple::

Seedot followed her and jumped up and down. <It's here! The pond is right here!> She walked over to the edge of the pond. It sparkled crystal clear, Pokemon sat at the edge drinking from the beautiful pond. Some bushes of Oren Berry sat right at the edge, where some Pokemon where already taking some. ::seedot:: Oh? With all of the Pokemon eating the berries there's only a few left. x2 Pick them?

Sophia smiled at the little Seedot. That smile widened further as she saw the Oran Berries hanging on a nearby tree. She walked over and plucked them, placing them in a small bag, then placing that bag in a small pocket of her rucksack, where they wouldn't be pulverized by her carelessness. Next she took a small plastic bowlk out of a different pocket and scooped it through the water, capturing a good amount of it. She then placed it where the smaller Pokemon, like Seedot and Alex, weren't in danger of falling into the pond. She picked her Wurmple off her shoulder, who replied to the touch with a sleepy >Wurmple?< before he saw the water and began to fervently drink it. Conduit was sent out, and he also took a long drink before curling up. "Feel free to take a drink," said Sophia to the Seedot. "It's safer than that pond when you're so small." She hoped her swiping of the berries hadn't irritated any nearby Pokemon. ::shinx:: ::wurmple::

Seedot jumped up and down happily, seeing how she helped Sophia. <Yay!> She said to herself. She walked over by Sophia and watched her Pokemon drink the pond water. They seemed very happy.
Buried in the Oren Berry bush black eyes watched as Sophia picked the berries he was going after. He popped out of the bush and snarled. <H-hey! I was going to get those!> The Wingull was angered that Sophia had taken his berries. <Give those back, or else!> He chirped.

"Surely you can share." Sophia smiled warmly at Wingull. "There's enough here for both of us, you know." She rummaged around in her rucksack, withdrew one of the Berries, then put the other away before putting her handout, an Oran in it as she kept smiling at Wingull.
"Here you go," she beamed. She knew by the Wingull's angry face that it was hungry, and just hoped that one berry was enough. "I need to keep myself and my Pokemon alive too ya know."

Wingull blinked, was this Trainer giving him a Oren Berry? <Err...> He carefully picked it out of her hands and chewed it. <This still doesn't get you off the hook!> He chirped, trying to make himself look tough. Though with his wings at his side and big black eyes, it was something he needed to work on.
The Seedot watched the Wingull get angry then calm right down after, a strange Pokemon indeed. Perhaps hotheaded? She wasn't quite sure, oh well. Sophia avoided one Pokemon battle for now.

"I know I'm not off the hook. A strong Wingull like you needs all the food I can get. I'm just hoping you'll allow me to have this one measly berry," she said soothingly, adapting a sad look on her face.
Generosity had worked. She just hoped flattery would too. By appealing to this Wingull's kinder nature with a little flattery, maybe she could avoid a battle, and seeing as Conduit didn't know any Electricity moves yet, it would be a tough battle. One she might not win.

<Oh? Oh, uh. That’s alright. Of course. I’m not known as the noble Wingull of the forest for nothing.> He nervously rubbed his white wing under his chin, as if wondering if he should be more firm with the girl. If she hadn’t given him one of the Oran Berries, than sure, he would’ve loved to Castigate her for not sharing. But she did, so he couldn’t hold it against her. With a sigh of defeat, he flapped his wings and flew off, Oran Berry held tightly in his talons.
::wingull:: Sophia loses an Oran Berry. Wingull is trying to leave. Stop him?
<Wow, miss. You’re really kind. I’m so glad that you’re nice to me too.> The Seedot finished her drink and hopped over to her energetically, clearly impressed with her kind nature. If she could be around someone like that all of the time, she imagined that it couldn’t be all that bad. Suddenly feeling shy and nervous, she twirled her feet in the ground like a schoolgirl, unsure of how to word this next part. <You-> She stopped, thought about it again, then started over. <Would it be ok if I came with you? I think it would be a lot of fun.> She asked, looking up with pleading eyes.
::seedot:: Wants to join your party.

Sophia smiled at the Seedot. "Of course you can." She took out a Pokeball and placed it in front of the seedling, smiling warmly. "It'll be an honor to have you on the team, Seedot."
Meanwhile, she looked at the Wingull, who was almost ready to leave, when a thought struck her. She did have to train her Pokemon for the next Gym in the Electric City, and she couldn't do that if she kept being so nice.
"How about a friendly battle?" she called up to the distant seagull. "It'd be an honor to fight against a big strong Wingull like you. ...If you win, you can have the other Oran Berry," she added as an afterthought.

The Wingull stopped, the Oren Berry cluched in his talons, he looked back. <Well, haha, I am a great Wingull. Alright, a friendly battle it is.> He said, flying back down and placing his berry safely on the ground. Of course he was only going to battle a scintilla, then he would grab his prize and leave.
The Seedot jumped up and down with joy. <Yay!> She hit the middle botton of the Pokeball and let it take her within it's depths.

Sophia smiled and tucked the Pokeball away, before beckoning to Conduit, who stepped forward. "I guess I have the first move. Conduit, use Leer and Tackle and show that Wingull we can take 'em. Use leer, Conduit, then follow it up with a Tackle. Use your advantage." The fact that Conduit was too low level to know electric moves yet was a fact she left the Wingull out of. The Shinx let out a Leer which, although not that threatening, was enough to lower the bird's defence if it met its mark, before following up with a Tackle attack. ::shinx:: Conduit used Leer and Tackle. The Leer lowering his Defence then being tackled he was thrown into the bush. <Ow ow ow!> He complained. He shook it off and flew a bit above ground. Opening his yellow and orange beak he shot a Growl at the Shinx, then following it with Water Gun. Lucky for him that the Shinx knew no Electric moves. This was in the bag for him, then he would fly off with two Oren Berries! The Wingull lost in thought he didn't een see if his moves hit or not. Wingull used Growl and Water Gun

Conduit felt his attack lower from the Wingull's Growl and was pushed backwards as the seagull Pokemon rapidly followed it up with a Water Gun. Sophia bit her lower lip anxiously, but the Shinx was already primed to act again. "Alright, Conduit. Leer and Tackle, please," she said eagerly, and Conduit repeated his actions, glaring coldly at the Wingull before diving at him in a full on Tackle attack while Alex looked on, blinking sleepily. ::shinx:: ::wurmple:: Conduit used Leer and Tackle.

<Whoa! No need to get angry, buddy!> The Wingull cried out as the Leer pierced through his emotional defenses, almost intimidating him as well. Weren’t all Shinx like that naturally scary? Or was there something more going on? It was as if there was a sense of Rivalry, and the Shinx’s attacks were getting strong rather quickly. With an annoyed caw, he tried to fly away from the Tackle, but he was simply too caught off guard to do so. If he was going to win, he realized that he was going to have to proscribe the Shinx from making any more hasty attacks on him.
<On the other hand, have at it, kid.> He laughed, twirling around in midair as he gathered some extra strength for this attack. His voice had to be super loud, so some charging was needed. Once he was positive that he had enough oxygen in his lungs for the move, he belched out a Supersonic at the electric type, trying to confuse him into attacking himself. There was a good chance that it wouldn’t even work on the Shinx, but he was stubborn, and would keep trying until it did.
::wingull:: Hit by Leer and Tackle. Used Supersonic.

Unaware of what the high pitched sound did, Sophia merely thought it was an exclamation of pain, or possibly irritation. So she continued as normal. "Conduit. Use Leer and Tackle again!"The Leer was executed, Conduit again glaring at the Wingull. However, when it came to Tackling, his vision suddenly blurred, and Sophia cried out in shock as Conduit scratched himself, claws raking down his own cheek even as he winced in pain. Conduit was unmistakably confused. Conduit is confused. Conduit used Leer and hurt himself in his confusion. ::modcoin::

Flying a bit over the ground, the flying type ignored the leer. He had seen the glare twice now and frankly, it wasn't as intimidating as he had first perceived it to be. Sure it gave a bit of an edge to the electric type, but enough for it to lower a stat? Nope.
The Wingull had to snicker however at the Shinx's silly action in scratching itself. The supersonic must have worked. Though it wasn't quite sure how a tackle ended in a scratch. Shouldn't it have just face planted itself into the ground or something? The flying type stopped questioning the action however and gave as good of a shrug as it could in the air.
Looking at the confused Pokémon on the ground below him, the water type took the opportunity to hopefully catch the Shinx off guard, seeing how it might still be confused from the whole "attacking itself ordeal". The Wingull opened its jaw wide, pulsing out a water gun, attempting to castigate the duo before him for thinking they could beat him.

Sophia grimaced as the Water Gun hit and Conduit was pushed even further back. But it was enough to momentarily snap him out of his confusion. His eyes briefly became lucid and clear again, and Sophia noticed this. "Tackle!" she yelled, perhaps more loudly than necessary. Conduit obeyed, running towards the Wingull and leaping, lowering his head towards the seagull Pokémon for maximum damage if it connected. ::shinx:: Conduit used Tackle. [/B]

::wingull:: Pokemon encounter ! The prideful Wingull hadn't noticed that the Shinx had broken out of his confusion momentarily and was flapping back toward him for another Water gun, leaving him completely open to the feline's tackle. His head made contact with the bird's small body, shoving him backwards. The bird tumbled through the air, managing to regain stability after a few moments but remaining rather dizzy from spinning so much.
After another moment of clearing his head, the bird looked down and assessed the situation and where his target, Shinx, was located. He was a powerful Wingull, undoubtedly, but he'd now been reminded that even the greatest pokemon had to plan out their moves. He locked on to his target, then beat his v-shaped wings and dived, aiming to launch a Water gun at the kitten and perform a swoop upwards to avoid a counter attack.
Wingull used Water Gun on Conduit.

"Dodge and Tackle it, Conduit!" yelled Sophia, worried for her Shinx. If only he knew an electric move or two, this battle could have already been over. As it was, she had to be satisfied with his Leer and Tackle. However, Conduit had fast dipped back into confusion after Tackling the Wingull, and although he managed to avoid the Water Gun with his dazed running around, he crashed straight into a tree in his confusion, hurting his face. However, this was just about enough to snap him out of his confusion for good. He would be able to take orders next time. ::shinx:: Conduit hurt himself in his confusion. Conduit snapped out of his confusion. [/B]

Well, this was going pretty well for the Wingull. Or rather, it had been whilst the Shinx was running in circles (luckily evading his water gun; he might add) confused. As soon as the feline collided with the tree and shook off the confusion, Wingull knew it wasn't quite going his way any more.
Regardless, he'd have to carry on as he was if he wanted to win. He was stronger than this little feline, surely? He opened his beak and allowed another jet of water to erupt from his throat, targetting the little cat-like pokémon as he darted off to the side to make himself harder to locate after the attack.
