Sophia yelped in empathy as her poor Shinx was hit by yet another torrent of water. Poor little Conduit was probably getting tired now, but he was determined to keep going, staying on his shaking feet. "Good going, Conduit! Leer and Tackle! Show that Wingull who's the top cat of Cheyenne!"Conduit nodded with a squeak of assertion, leering darkly at Wingull again before running towards him and jumping up as high as he could for a Tackle attack. He was determined to outmatch the persistent Wingull. ::shinx:: Conduit used Leer and Tackle.

<Oh gosh, not another ACK!> Tackled by the Shinx once more he was thrown to the ground. He shook his head and growled, hit over and over again he was getting tired. He got up and stayed on the ground this time. Ugh, he had this battle in the bag! How could it have tuned so quickly? Maybe if he got the Shinx confused again...nope, no engery left. He sulked down and before he fainted he thought he better get his promised Oren Berry.

Has fainted. +1 lv for Conduit

Sophia decided to wait until the Wingull woke up. It was so beautiful and powerful. She wanted it. Really, obsessively wanted it. It was adorable yet strong at the same time, and a Pokemon that knew water attacks would be useful. If not in Ile Eletrique, then somewhere else.
Picking up the Oran Berry he had dropped, she kept it on her lap to feed to the unfortunate seagull when he woke up.

The Wingull opened his eyes to find his Oren Berry gone. <H-hey?! Where is my...> He looked over to find the Trainer had taken both his berries. Hopping over he stood a foot away from her. <Alright, I fought and kept my end of the promise. Now, can I have my Oren Berries now?> He asked.

"I promised you the second one only if you won," reminded Sophia without smiling, for fear of antagonizing the Wingull. "But if you want to come with me, I can promise you many more berries. And the chance to become even more magnificnet than you already are.
With that, she handed over the first Oran Berry with a smile, holding it out slowly as a gesture of peace. In the other hand she held a Pokeball in plain sight. If the Wingull wanted it, he could easily access or deny it.

Wingull raised an eyebrow. Was this Trainer bribing him with berries? He gulped the first one down without thinking then stared at the Pokeball. Should he? He hopped to the Pokeball and stared at it for a good two minutes before chirping, <Err, no thanks. Later!> He was about to fly off when he tripped over a stone and hit the Pokeball. Being sucked inside he twisted and turned inside but weakened from the battle he couldn't do much. The ball clicked and the Wingull was caught, against his will. Sophia blinked. "That was unfortunate." Still, now that he was bound by a Pokeball, he was hers, and, cruel though it might be, it was a perfectly legitimate capture, wasn't it?
Tucking her new Pokeball away, she moved away from the riverside and back onto the main route. She would need more Pokeballs soon. Because of this, Sophia hoped she was close to the city.

Up ahead on the route a strange sight could be found. Was... Was that group of pokemon watching... TV? Surely you were seeing things right? I mean, what pokemon watches TV?
Sadly, you're not losing your mind. There really are pokemon watching the tiny, battery operated TV. The group was of three pokemon, two Wurmples and one Caterpie. Silly insects.

...Watching TV? The Pokemon ahead were watching a battery operated TV. The sight was unbelievably comical, and for the second time that day, she had to struggle to keep herself from laughing.
"Um, what are you watching?" she asked the little bug types as she approached, leaning over to see what was showing.

Two of the Wurmple jumped up comically at the sound of the girl’s sudden appearance while the Caterpie let out a girlish scream. The TV screen was much clearer with the bug Pokemon cowering out of the way, showing ’The Attack of the Headless Monster’, an old 1960s horror movie that would make people laugh compared to the movies that were out today. It was at least in color, but the quality was bad. Still, for Pokemon that had never experienced the joys of TV before, this was quality entertainment.
<She has a h-h-head, you guys. W-why so scared?> The Wurmple laughed, though still clearly frightened as he elbowed his brother off of him. Honestly, why did the older brother have to be the scaredy cat? The said older Wurmple quickly realized what he was doing and elbowed the younger one back, growling in annoyance. <I’m not scared, you idiot.> He huffed, turning back to the TV with a horrified expression as the monster let out a loud ‘ROAR’.
<Eep! Hide me!> The Caterpie, too, had been paying too much attention to the TV screen, and people were about to die in this part. She could feel it in her bones! Inching up to Sophia’s legs, she swiftly tried to hide behind the human for comfort. Even though she was scared, she didn’t seem to be shy like other Pokemon around here.

It looked like some ancient horror film, and one that wasn't all that scary, but judging by the trio of Bug types leaping everywhere and squeaking as they did so, they were terrified, which was both amusing and adorable to Sophia.
The Caterpie appeared to be trying to hide in the crook of her leg. Bending down carefully, she ran a finger softly down her segmented body, delicately stroking her in an attempt at reassurance.
She hoped the Caterpie wouldn't shy away from the touch. She was rather adorable, and she suddenly found herself wanting this little worm in one of her still empty Pokeballs. She smiled at the thought of having a Wurmple and a Caterpie on board.

::wurmple:: ::caterpie:: ::wurmple:: Pokemon encounter ! Caterpie's shivering body stilled a little bit in response to the warmth of the human's finger, lending a bit of distraction from the horrifying images that she'd just glimpsed. The small, green worm stayed immobile beneath the human's leg, yet still covered her eyes from the terror of the flashing screen in the vicinity. Every time a scream erupted from it, she shivered from dread.
The younger wurmple forced himself to continue watching the frightening movie, face wet with sweat after just a few moments of the fearsome sight. <Oh no! Oh no! Not that!> He cried out, looking away just before a human was swallowed up by the roaring monster.
His elder brother unconsciously scooted closer to his younger sibling as he continued to view the old film, just as frightened as he was. This time neither paid attention to the other, minds only processing the brutality being shown on the artificial, flashing screen.
It was clear this silly display would continue until somebody interfered with it.

Sophia decided she would be the one to interfere. "There's a happy ending. She"- Sophia pointed at the screen- "is the only Survivor and blows up the monster with a gas can and a little fire."
Sophia wasn't exactly sure how the two Wurmple would react to her spoiling the film for them. From what Sophia could see, they would either be irritated despite their fear, or grateful. Possibly one of each.
Still, the Wurmple seemed a little more capable of looking after themselves, so with that said, she continued to run her finger down the Caterpie's segmented green body, noticing how she calmed at her touch.

<W-what?!> The younger Wurmple gasped upon hearing the girl’s statement, turning to face her with an angry expression. Oh boy, looks as if Sophia said something that she really shouldn’t have mentioned…<What are you, a psychic?! Can’t you see that there are people dying? Don’t you care about your own kind at all?!> He cried out, taking this situation to a whole new level. From what it appeared, the bug Pokémon really believed that this was happening out in the world somewhere. Guess that the concept of ‘TV Entertainment’ went right by them.
<She’s a ghost! A demon! Go away, go away!> The eldest cried out right as the girl in the move destroyed the monster with fire. So they didn’t understand the concept of a ‘gas can’, but her words stung true. The Caterpie perked up at the ending of the movie, sad for the loss of lives, but glad for a peaceful resolve. At least they didn’t have to worry about headless humans running around the place, when they could be destroyed so easily.
<I don’t think that’s right…> She tilted her head at the Wurmple’s statements, not sensing that the girl was anything suspicious. But it was strange. How did she know what was going to happen? Did she have any special abilities, ones that a demon would have? The thought wasn’t as scary to her as the Wurmples were making it out to be. Crazy, over-reacting bugs.

"It's fiction." Sophia tried to keep her voice calm and her laughter at bay as she explained. The poor bugs seemed genuinely scared, so Sophia tried to downplay their fear a little.
"Someone makes a story and those people- actors- pretend to be the characters so that we can watch and feel pain, fear, happiness and all that. Um..." Sophia wasn't quite sure whether the trio would swallow her explanation, or whether the rather slow witted Wurmple duo would even comprehend it, but it was worth a try.

<No. No. And no. I won’t hear of a word of it. You’re so insensitive, it’s downright cruel. People like you are the reason that Pokémon here have issues.> The youngest growled out, while his older brother started making up chants to scare away ‘the evil demon’. Deciding that words would do no good in a situation like this, he elbowed his older brother to make him pay attention as he took a bold step forward. If this girl wasn’t about to leave them alone, then he was going to do so by force.
He shot out a String Shot at Sophia’s pretty hair, trying to gross her out. His brother quickly caught on to what his brother wanted him to do, and he also added another String Shot into the mix. However, this one purposely missed. No need to do a lot of harm to a human, especially when they were so defenseless. She might as well consider that his version of a warning, so she knew that both of them were willing to fight her off.
<Guys…really?> The Caterpie laughed nervously, slowly inching away from Sophia, trying to get out of the way of fire. She made her way behind the brothers, her friends, and watched as they stubbornly ignored her. Great. Those stupid boys, rushing off with no common sense at all.

The first String Shot entangled itself in Sophia's locks, making her grimace. However, it wasn't the first time. Working in a center devoted to Pokemon happiness often meant stressed and timid Pokemon came in, and Bug Types had often shot a String Shot- even the occasional Poison Sting- at her.
She tried to yank the stuff off, but some of it remained persistently stuck to her scalp. She laughed, trying to seem friendly to the Wurmple. "Hey now, what was that for? Do you want a battle or something?"

The Wurmple brothers muttered with each other, then turned at the human girl. The older one shot String Shot at her feet while the younger one shot it at her hair again. The brothers laughed with each other and high-5 each other. <Great job little bro!> The older one complemented. The younger one smiled widely. The Caterpie backed off int the bushes. Getting out of the way. She wanted to do nothing in this! The brothers have gone too far this time. <Guys, lets just leave!> She said. The brothers ignored her and continued to laugh. She tried to make a Beedrill line for the bushes. Used String shot! Is trying to flee, stop her?

Sophia called out to the Caterpie. "Relax. Stay there. I won't be long." She enlarged a pair of Pokeballs, sending out Brine, her new Wingull, and Alex, her Wurmple as she detached more String Shot from her face and hair. What was this? Alex was glowing... his form changing. This was shocking. The timid little worm squeaked in shock as he widened, voice deepening a little. Sophia smiled widely as the glow faded. It was a Silcoon! "Alex! String Shot and Poison Sting. Brine, use Growl and Water Gun!" yelled Sophia, wondering how Alex would fight in his new form. The two obeyed, growling and shooting a barrage of string at the older Wurmple, before shooting a barrage of needles and a jet of water at the older Wurmple. Sophia hoped that the Bug Types would be a little intimidated by their evolved form and a partial flying type. Running around to greet Caterpie, she held out a hand to the minuscule green worm. "Don't worry. I won't hurt your friends too much. Relax." ::silcoon:: Alex used String Shot and Tackle on the older Wurmple
::wingull:: Brine used Growl and Water Gun on the older Wurmple.

The Older Wurmple was too busy when he heard a Growl then was soaked with water. <Owie!> He said, getting back up on his 'feet' he used Poison Sting on the Wingull before seeing it was a Flying type. <AIYE! A flying type, be careful little bro!> He warned. The little Wurmple was stuck in the String Shot then tackled. He went rolling backwards and hit a tree trunk. Shaking himself off he used Tackle as well on the Silcoon. Caterpie wasn't sure, the battle looked really rough from where she was. <Err, I'll stay...in the bushes!> She zoomed past the human and ducked into the bushes, out of harm's way. Older Wurmple used Poison Sting on Brine! Younger Wurmple used Tackle on Alex! Is hiding.
