"Focus your attacks on the older one first," ordered Sophia. Alex was unused to his new form, and was quite painfully struck by the Tackle. "It's OK, Alex," soothed Sophia. "Just use Harden to boost your defenses and then use your weight to pin it down." With that, a sheen passed over Alex's smooth skin before he tackled to crush it and pin it down. Brine wheeled upwards to dodge the attack and Sophia smiled. "Supersonic on the older one," she ordered, in case the Tackle didn't work. If he didn't know friend from foe, the older Wurmple might attack himself, or even his little brother. A high pitched whine escaped Brine's beak as he unleashed the sonic wave. ::silcoon:: Alex used Harden on himself and Tackle on the older Wurmple, trying to pin it down.
::wingull:: Brine used Supersonic on the older Wurmple.

<EEP!> The older Wurmple was soon pined under the Silcoon's body. He scrambled to get up but failed only to hear the Supersonic and be confused. <Oh look at that, the skies blue!> He staggered left and right. Trying to use Poison Sting he hit himself instead. The younger one crawled over to his brother. <SNAP OUT OF IT!> <Durr...> No use. The younger Wurmple used Poison Sting at the Silcoon.
The Caterpie watched from afar. 'I'm not going to hurt your friends much.' <Yeah right.> She thought.
::wurmple::
Older one is confused! Hurt itself in its confusion!
::wurmple::
Used Poison Sting at Brine!

Is still hiding.

"I'm only defending myself. You're a girl. You know how annoying it is to have things trying to mess up your hair or whatever." She smiled warmly at the Caterpie. "Sorry it had to come to this."Alex was hit by the poison stings. His Harden dispelled some, and thankfully njegated the poison effect. "String Shot and Tackle the big one again," she ordered, and Alex obeyed, firing a barrage of string before jumping at the Wurmple in another Tackle. He was getting used to his new form, to Sophia's delight. "Brine, it's weakening! Use Water Gun on the big one!!" Brine hurried to obey, shooting another jet of water at the older Wurmple. ::silcoon:: Silcoon used String Shot and Tackle on the older Wurmple.
::wingull:: Brine used Water Gun on the younger Wurmple.

<WAH!> The Younger Wurmple was thrown back into the bushes. He shook his head and fainted. After a few minutes he woke up and started crying. <Owie! I'm going back to mama!> He fled out of the battle. Has fainted, then ran off. Brine +1 lv. The older one smacked by String Shot was caught in it's gooey mess. He snapped out of it, seeing his little brother run off. Then hit by the Tackle he was thrown into the bushes as well. <Ouch.> He fainted. Has fainted. Alex +1 lv. Caterpie peeked her head out of the bushes. <Is it over yet> She wondered. Has poked her head out.

"Yes, it's over." Sophia smiled as she returned the pair of Pokemon to their Pokeballs. "Here. An apology for scaring you." Sophia took out her remaining Oran Berry and placed it in both hands, holding it out to the Caterpie. "Eat up. My Wingull tells me it's delicious." She sighed. "I don't really like fighting outside of competitive or friendly battles. It can go a little too far." When she heard the younger Wurmple crying, she frowned, before returning her attention to the Caterpie. Sophia offered an Oran Berry to Caterpie.

The Caterpie looked at the Berry, she wanted very badly but shook her head no. <You'll need that more than I do.> She replied. She turned her head to the direction the brother Wurmples went. She sighed and crawled that way. <Well, good day!> She said.
::caterpie::
Refused the Berry. Is leaving, stop her?

Sophia didn't want to push it any more than necessary. She wasn't going to force the worm's friendship. Shrugging, she walked on, a little irritated by the Caterpie's rudeness in refusing the Berry, even if she didn't mean it that way.
It was getting dark. Stopping to rest, she set up a tent quickly and unrolled her sleeping bag, changing into suitable nightclothes before curling up to sleep. It had been an eventful day. Would it be an eventful night?

The night was fairly uneventful. Some of the nocturnal Pokémon saw the tent but seeing how they had never seen one before (not many trainers slept on the route), they were didn't venture close. That is however until dawn was approaching and the sky was a light shade of red caused by the rising sun.
A field mouse one might call it, though generally it was referred to as a Rattata, was humming an old proverb that was passed through it's many family lines. <Red sky in morning, sailor's take warning. Red sky at night, sailor's delight!>
[/color] The female rat giggled slightly as she glanced up at the horizon. Looking back down at the path before her she froze. What was that thing? She had never seen something like that before. Hit with a sudden curiosity, she stepped forward and looked the tent up and down from all sides before hitting the entrance flap. It moved slightly but with it zipped close it didn't open up to reveal the human inside. Rattata|Female [/center][/size]

There was the sound of something lightly prodding the tent. Always a light sleeper, Sophia quickly woke up, and judging by the light barely visible through the tent, it was early morning.
Trying to brush her frizzy hair back into place, she got changed into a new set of clothes in the first couple of minutes, before putting a biscuit in her mouth and unzipping the tent flap to take it down and prepare to move on for the day.
A Rattata? They were quite common in these parts, though this one didn't seem quite as aggressive as the one she'd seen the previous day. Instead, it seemed curious, and a little nervous. "Good morning." Sophia smiled at the little purple rat warmly.

<Err, good morning?> She said. Sniffing around she wondered what this human was in. It was a odd thing for sure. Not many trainers came by through the night, and not many Rattata were calm like she was. Indeed, she stood out from the crowd of Rattata.
Poking her head where she shouldn't she sniffed around some more. Popping her head up right next to the Trainer she tilted her head.

Judging by the Rattata's white and cream form snuffling curiously around the tent, Sophia's mind aptly deducted that the Rattata was curious about the tent she'd spent the night in.
"Oh, this is a tent," she explained. "We use it to sleep when we're travelling." She put her hand to her chin, thinking about how she could explain it to a Rattata such as this. "It's like a temporary den."

<Really? Hmmm.> Walking a bit closer to it the so called 'tent' did not look like a den to her. <You humans sleep in this?> She asked. It didn't seem real nice to sleep in, why would anyone wanna sleep in that thing?

"It's a temporary measure, until we can find a proper bed." explained Sophia with a smile. "It's not very comfortable, but it keeps us warm and dry, and that's the most important thing I suppose."
Sophia began removing the pegs and support for the tent, and finally it collapsed into a heap, which she gathered up and packed away. "It being portable is a plus as well," she added.

<Very nice, I guess. Though, I like the lush green grass when I sleep. It's nice and soft for a midday nap!> The Rattata explained. <You have to carry that thing around with you? Goodness, I would never want something like that!> She exclaimed. Walking over to the human's backpack she sniffed around. <Hey, got any food you could spare? I'll battle for it if I have too.> She said. She hasn't found food in days, she would do anything for it!

"Would an Oran Berry do?" Taking out her remaining Oran Berry, she held it out in front of the minuscule purple and cream rat. "It's good You'll love it, I promise," she smiled warmly.
"However, a Pokemon battle does sound like a good idea." Sophia pondered silently. "After you've eaten it, how about a friendly battle?"

<Sure, that's sounds fine with me.> Rattata said. She thought about running off after she got her berry bt that'd be a bit rude of her, now wouldn't it?
<I promise I won't be that tough on you!> Rattata somewhat teased, though she really didn't think she was a great battler...and had a big of an ego.

"Ahaha/" The Rattata seemed full of guts, which made Sophia laugh. Seeing such a little Pokemon so determined made Sophia all the more determined to defeat it, and then maybe catch it. "Well then, we'll start with my Shinx." Sophia enlarged Conduit's Pokeball. "Conduit, Leer and Tackle." She released the little blue feline from his Pokeball, and he immediately got to work, glaring at the Rattata before rushing at her in a rapid Tackle attack. ::shinx:: Conduit used Leer and Tackle.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400] [th] <Oh boy!> Rattata was thrown backwards , kicking up dust as she tried to stop herself. Shaking it off she cried out, <HA! Is that the best you can do?!> She hasn't had a battle in ages, this was fun! Since she ate that Berry too she was feeling more ready than ever! She went in for a Quick Attack. Speeding off from where she was she hoped to hit the Shinx. | Female | | Rattata used Quick Attack! |

Sophia grimaced as Conduit was sent skidding back by the blindingly fast rat with a mew of shock. With his eyes narrowing in pain and irritation, he glanced at Sophia, waiting for his next order. She gave it. "Leer and Tackle again!" she commanded, refusing to let the Rattata overcome Conduit. Obeying, he shot a glare at the Rattata to try to lower her guard, before charging at the purple and cream figure as fast as he could. Conduit used Leer and Tackle.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400] [th] Rattata went flying into the lush green grass, kicking up some as she went backwards. She shook her head and growled. This Shinx sure had battling down pat.
