It had been a long and tough journey, but finally, she was here. The haunted road. It seemed to be in a state of perpetual twilight; she could not see the sun, nor did she know if it was even the day anymore. Everything was shrouded in a thick blanket of fog making it difficult to navigate. Always someone to plan ahead, Chase kept Morpheus nearby. It seemed like a good idea to have her own ghost Pokémon ready in case of an ambush. Of course, it didn't help that Morpheus had a sick sense of humour and decided that he'd disappear and scare the shit out of her every so often. She was used to it by now but all his pranks kept her on her toes.
"Let's just get through this place to the next gym..." she groaned, rolling her eyes. Damn. If only she could actually see.

Up ahead there was a bit of a commotion going on. A KAdabra and Hypno were rambling on about something or another, or maybe it was possibly arguing. They seemed rather calm, but their speech was hurried and fast, urgent. Not ghosts, but two that could be just as haunting with thei psychic powers. Also, quite a powerful team when combined. Maybe it wasn't even worth the risk finding out what they were talking about or if they needed help.
ontop of that... something seemed to be following the trainer. Perhaps more than one something. There was the weight of a presence lingering behind him, but it was never there if she turned to try and find it. This was going to be a very long route already. Rambling psychics and beings you couldn't see, the feeling of being followed. Good luck even coming out of this perpetual twighlight with any sanity left.

Morpheus materialised and yanked the back of Chase's hair to get her attention. She bit her lip in surprise and her Pokémon ended up pulling out more than he'd bargained for. Morpheus stumbled back, a collection of fine blonde hairs in his hand. Tossing them behind him, he cackled nervously. Chase turned to him with a venomous look in her eyes, a trickle of blood down the right side of her mouth. Okay. How many times was that now that he'd scared her? Only this time, she'd inflicted pain on herself instead of screaming like a little girl. God damnit.
Morpheus shrugged and waved his hands apologetically. It wasn't like she could punish him anyway, her fist would go right through his body. He took this time to point towards the arguing Kadabra and Hypno. Chase, with a pouty look on her face, turned abruptly to the bickering Pokémon. Wow. This was annoyingly familiar. They looked like one of those old couples in a squabble.
"Morpheus, you go do something about it" she snapped, "I'm NOT getting Psychiced on my ass. Go ahead, you can take cover in this bloody fog if you have to"
She pointed at the duo and her mischevious ghost Pokémon proceeded to obey as if he were being sent to the corner in daycare. His shoulders fell limp and he hovered towards them very slowly and sombrely. Upon disappearing from Chase's sight however and appearing before Kadabra and Hypno, he waved.
"DUSKNOIR!" he said loudly (Chase could hear it), "'BOO!' Well, that was stupid.

The two in the midst of their argument abrutly stopped. Hypno screeched a little, and the KAdabra accidentally bent it's spoon in fright, but then immediately, the two looked quite angry. Both folded their arms and glared at the odd looking ghost, Hypno being the first to speak up.
"Was that really so important you had to interrupt us?" It said, a sneer in it's voice.
Kadabra simply glared silently, not yet feeling as if it had a place in this conversation other than to look upset and give nasty looks.

Morpheus shrugged innocently, waving off the situation. "Dusk, Dusknoir...Noir" he replied casually, 'My trainer instructed me to sort out your argument. I thought I'd start off with a joke' The ghost Pokémon proceeded to hoot and snicker. Wow. Their faces had been priceless.
Chase, in the meantime, waited impatiently. She'd lost sight of not only her Pokémon, but the other two as well. This fog was troublesome. "Morpheus!" she yelled, "Where are you, damnit?...."
Disappearing momentarily, Morpheus grabbed Chase by the arm and swung her over his shoulder, floating back to the two Pokémon. She wanted to kick and scream, but she knew it would only get worse. She lay quietly instead, a hand under her chin while the other tapped Morpheus' back impatiently. With a sudden jerky movement, he propped her down right infront of Hypno. Oh great. She stared into the Pokémon's quizzical eyes, unsure of what to say. At this point she couldn't even think of a friendly gesture. Damn Morpheus. He was such a turd.
The ghost Pokémon giggled.

Hypno looked insulted, and the expression upon the Kadabra's face wasn't much different. And what business was it of these two, anyway, to interrupt their conversation? Hypno whispered something to Kadabra as the ghost pokemon momentarily disappeared, and both of them nodded in agreement to whatever it had been they discussed. Once the ghost type returned, they both took an offensive stance and fired a Psybeam right for hte Dusknoir, before it even had the chance to put the girl down. So, she was likely to take some of the hit herself, that, or barely miss it. Although this was a relatively weak attack, coming from two, it was twice the power. Kadabra immediately used Reflect for itself right after, Hypo, however, was out of luck for any retaliation from the ghost... or even the trainer.

Chase drew a sharp breath and leapt backwards acrobatically. It really helped to be raised in a city known for ninjas; you learned a thing or two from them. "Damnit!" she cursed. It was a double battle now. There was no way that Morpheus could win on his own. Pulling out another Pokéball, she tossed it infront of her.
Yggdrasil appeared with an astonishing flash of light and a mighty roar. She was a gigantic creature, more than enough for these two psychic types to handle. While Morpheus had been caught in a ferocious attack, he fell back beside his ally, rubbing his chest where he seemed to have been hit the hardest. Wow, he was lucky he didn't sustain even more damage. It was an impressive hit - apparently these two had battled side by side before.
Chase retreaed back a few feet, disappearing from her enemy's view. Her voice carried through the fog, "Yggdrasil, Earthquake! Morpheus, Shadow Punch!"
Rearing upwards, Yggdrasil pounded herself down, causing the ground to shudder and shake as large spears of rock rose from the soil to pierce her enemies. Morpheus, on the other hand, drove his fist at Hypno for an unavoidable hit. Hypno would not likely survive this attack, and with it out of the way, Kadabra would be easily brought down. This happened to be a convenient run-in for Chase, especially considering she was in need of some more reliable psychic types. She wasn't going to let these two get away; not by any means.

The Kadabra Easily dodge the Earthquake attack by using its psychic powers. The Hypno, however was such a nice case. It was hit directly by the Torterra's earth quake attack. That left it wide open for the Dusknoirs Shadow Punch attack. The Hypno flew back but was stopped from hitting the ground by the Kadabra's psychic powers. It let the Hypno drop out of the air onto the ground. The Hypno. Though having taken a direct hit wasn't down yet. It frowned deeply at the Dusknoir. It turned towards the Kadabra and an nodded. The Kadabra nodded back.
The Kadabra, using its psychic attack, Disable, disabled the Dusknoirs Shadow Punch attack. The Hypno then jumped in front of the Kadabra and began to swing its Pendulum. It was using a Hypnosis attack on the Continent Pokemon and the Ghost Pokemon. The two defiantly had battled together before.

"Don't get caught vulnerable!" Chase's voice echoed, "Yggdrasil, use Razor Leaf! Fill the air! Shut your eyes as fast as you can. Morpheus, combine with Yggdrasil - Will-O-Wisp!"
Nodding, the giant turtle tucked in its head and closed its eyes. The tree on its back began to shiver and quake. Suddenly, a flurry of leaves exploded from Yggdrasil's shell, shooting in every direction. The leaves pelted on Yggdrasil's opponent like a storm. As Morpheus performed his attack, he set each leaf ablaze with Will-O-Wisp, creating a devastating fire-leaf hurricane infront of them. Unfortunately, Morpheus fell to the effects of Hypnosis and was caught getting drowsy in mid-air, unable to move after that.

These two would not be easy to beat, not with Kadabra's ability to teleportin a split second. Dropping it's spoons, the Kadabra grabbed hold of Hypno and vanished just as the burning leaves would have struck it down. But they were not out of danger, for Kadabra had underestimated the sheer volume of this double attack. When it reappeared with it's friend, Kadabra was the one who took the blunt of the blow from the last of the firey leaves. They sliced through flesh and fur, yet burned the cuts closed again. Luckily, Hypno only recieved a few scrapes. Both were quick to retaliate - these two must have been close friends to fight so viciously for eachother.
Kadabra faked being hurt rather bad, being slow to move and turn around again, and Hypno played right along in assisting it's friend. The two opponents would most likely have a rush of arrogance at this time, feeling they had won for the most part, but this was not the case at all. Abrubtly, the Kadabra snapped around and fired a Psybeam at the large turtle thing, and Hypno followed up, filling the air with noxious Poison Gas that could not be avoided to those in the immedate area. Kadabra was immune to it's friends poison, for the most part, but it did slow it down slightly. A Formitable duo, these two.

Clenching her jaws, Yggdrasil found herself in a tough situation. The poison move remained her biggest fear and as such she responded promptly, attempting to deflect the gas with a blanket of her own poison: a Toxic attack. Unfortunately she was unable to stop the incoming Psybeam attack. She was a very large target after all, it was not easy to dodge one move let alone two. Morpheus still hung limp, asleep.
"Damn" Chase cursed. The better those two fought together, the more she wanted to capture them both. Nothing would be better than a psychic duo that really knew how to fight. It was marvelous; she was in awe.

The hypno gladly watched the attack as it flowed quite nicely and well as planned. It could feel its energy draining with each attack, but its eyes were sharp and cunning as he easily hid it. It paused, faking a collapse again, waiting for its partener to act along.
The kadabra had other plans. It sprinted to its enemy, to pound it to the ground. Hypno's eyes grew wide, unknowing what to do. It climbed up and ran behind, aiming a Psybeam! The Kadabra was a good distraction, and the Psybeam aimed straight for the unexpected pokemon!

Yggdrasil panicked as she noticed the incoming assault. Charging forward, the took the hit for Morpheus. Yggdrasil was smashed to the ground and pounded from the back. She toppled over, unable to withstand the vicious onslaught she'd taken to protect her ally. Luckily, with that blow, she emitted a terrible shriek and the sheer loudness of the noise was enough to wake Morpheus. The ghost Pokémon rubbed its single eye and realized what was going on. Now was not the time to yawn. Not good! Not good at all!
Keeling over, Yggdrasil was getting tired. She forced herself up again and began charging a Solar Beam attack. She had to make this good - she wasn't going to last much longer. Morpheus, on the other hand, performed a convincing Shadow Punch attack, charging an unavoidable move and slamming his fist forth at Kadabra, who to this point remained Yggdrasil's biggest threat.
"Come on..." Chase muttered, gritting her teeth. All she could do was watch, but she wanted to win...

Widened eyes came from Hypno as it watched its ally get thrown ways back from the Shadow Punch. Sure, if the Shadow Punch had hit it instead, it would have a fighting chance. Kadabra's had really low defense to attacks like that, and had assumed the worst had happened after the attack had connected.
Readying its pendulum, the Hypno had previously assumed to try its luck with another sleep inducing attack. At the last second changed its mind and inhaled a giant wad of air, and exhaling a Poison Gas attack. Its goal was to shield itself from the Solar Beam, and even attempt to poison one of the two Pokémon.
Unfortunately for the Kadabra, it wasn't faking the extreme pain it felt as it tried to lift its head up. Blast, it couldn't do much of anything. Its will power was strong, but it didn't have the power to actually fight. Giving up, it fell into a fainting condition.

OOC: OMG ILU thanks for replying <3
"Good..." Chase sighed, "We're 2 on 1 now..we stand a fighting chance" Readying two Ultra Balls, she prepared for the inevitable. Hypno wasn't going to survive much longer, even if that meant one of Chase's Pokémon would faint as well.
Hurtling forward, Morpheus performed another Shadow Punch attack. He knew he had to be definitive and now was the time to take out the enemy. In the process however he was caught in a sea of poisonous gas. While the attack was not particularly effective on ghost types, he still didn't have an immunity to poison, and so he was induced with a status condition. Hacking after his fast-paced attack, Morpheus felt the draining repercussions of the move. At this point, Yggdrasil saw her chance. Firing through what she assumed to be Morpheus' trajectory (based on the toxic clouds' seperation and where he had been), she let loose a cannon of a grass attack.
The Solarbeam shon a bright yelllow as it wailed towards Hypno with great force. Upon releasing the beam, Yggdrasil felt heavy and she proceeded to back up slowly, attempting to avoid the poison attack. She succeeded, but she was simply too tired. Giving Chase the signal, Chase allowed the Pokémon to return to her Pokéball for a well-deserved rest.

ooc: No problem~
I'm sorry for not noticing this thread sooner. I look and look, but my mind goes blank when it comes to the threads this far in the routes. ^^'
BIC:
The Shadow Punch was enough to nearly knock the Hypno out of its senses. Staggering back after the Super Effective Hit, it looked at its smoke screen with pride. It had done some good, at least.
That Shadow Punch, the Psychic type had predicted would be the move to hit it, but what it didn't see coming was the solar powered beam heading its way. It had just turned its head for a moment to take a closer look at its fallen comrade, in case it could help it escape capture, but had been knocked down by the Solar Beam hard in the back. It was no match for the two Pokémon on its own, and ended up fainting from the sheer force of the move.
Yggdrasil gains half a level, Morpheus levels up! Attempt capturing the two Pokemon, or move on?
((I'm afraid I'm not too sure about how the level system works against two Wild Pokemon, correct me if I'm wrong. ))

OOC: It's something like that..heh xD
"Alright, good" Chase sighed. Grabbing two Ultra Balls, she tossed them at both Kadabra and Hypno, hoping to capture the strong psychic types that she needed so desperately on her team.
Morpheus sighed, quite tired. At that point he reached into Chase's bag (without her permission of course) and pulled out an Antidote to cure him of his poisoning. That would be good, especially considering he was her only defence against psychic and other ghost types lurking this area.

The two Ultra Balls sucked in both the Kadabra and Hypno. Both were fainted, and putting up a fight against these super improved Poke Balls seemed like a tough feet for them. Unfortunetly for Chase, the Kadabra's PokeBall popped back open, as the Psychic type panted from that grueling fight. Its eyes were slanted, but not in aggression. Slowly it looked down to see the Hypno's Pokeball stop shaking. Silent as can be, when realization crossed the Kadabras eyes it let out an outraged cry. <I...Shall leave you be...> It mummered, before silently teleporting out of the area. All that was left was the small Ultra Ball on the ground, and thin air where the Kadabra had been. Congratz~ You have captured

Letting out a sigh of disappointment, Chase retrieved Hypno's pokéball. It was really too bad. She had wanted them both....especially considering how well they worked together. But it was understandable that Kadabra was angry; it lost its best friend. The capture was certainly a little bittersweet but Chase knew that she would take care of Hypno - for its friend's sake.
Chase continued along the foggy path, Morpheus in tow. He was slightly less annoying having been subjected to quite the battle. Stupid ghost. But she loved him dearly.

Things would not get any easier on this path, nor the others ahead of it. But, the trainer would get a small break, and perhaps even lucky. For lying ahead on the ground was a small bag toppled over, and spilling out a couple of regular potions, a hyper potion, and even something as rare as a Max Revive. Perhaps this was more than just a stroke of luck? Backpacks full of things like that were usually carried by people... so where was this ones owner? In the dense fog, it would be impossible to tell if anyone was around, and now that the battle was over, the area was silent. dead silent, to be exact. There was an odd odor in the air, something foul, but not enough to be repulsive yet. Easily this bag could be taken, and the items claimed by Chase, or she could investigate some more, and see if there was an owner to the bag anywhere in sight. That might prove to be a bad idea though. In and out of the fog, some shadowy figure appeared and disappeared like some otherwordly dance. It's shape would be unfamiliar to those unfamiliar to this reigon. Something sphereical, but a tail that constantly moved... like invisable fire. It floated, as well, when it's shadow could be seen. Maybe there were more than one, it was hard to tell in this atmosphere. A pair of Sol have appeared! (though unseen still XD)
