Eleanor sniffed in disdain at the Psyduck's attacks. How uncouth. Though it was undoubtedly strong. She conceded that as blood welled up from the stomach wound in her Plusle's stomach, making the little mouse squeal in pain. Her gaze remained cold as she looked to Dimitri. "Leer and Bite." Her next command was executed, as the young Larvitar gave the Psyduck his darkest look, before trying to clamp his teeth around the Psyduck's head. Meanwhile, at an order to "repeat" from Eleanor,a tearful Plusle blew another Sweet Kiss at the duck. ::larvitar:: Level 9 Used Leer and Bite.
::plusle:: Level 5.5 Used Sweet Kiss. [/B]

۩ (Defense -1) Hit by Leer and Sweet Kiss ۩ Hurts self in confusion
- Ow. ow. ow. Why did his head hurt so much? Looking up to try and find the answer to his question, the Psyduck saw a lecherous Larvitar biting the crap out of him. He stood in stunned silence, before putting both webbed hands to his head, trying to use the power of imagination to pretend that the Bite attack didn't exist.
- He believed it so much, that it worked. He stood staring into space as the Sweet Kiss made it's mark, riiight on his left facial cheek. The Psyduck didn't appear to react in the slightest. Then, it stared at the Larvitar. Then back at its hand. Then back at the rock type.
- Thinking...thinking...thinking. A light bulb appeared over his head! Kind of fading away due to the power outage, so maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all! He raised his hand in the air, ready to strike the rock type, but then scratched his belly. Like a bum. However, he did dig his claws in pretty deep.

Eleanor smiled as the Psyduck hurt itself. Good. The confusion was taking effect nicely. Returning Plusle to her Pokeball, it was all up to Dimitri to end the battle now. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long. "Leer and Bite," she commanded, and the order was obeyed as the Larvitar rushed at the Psyduck, snarling, before trying to latch his teeth around the duck's oversized head. ::larvitar:: Level 9 Uses Leer and Bite. Okay, okay. Focus. There was something going on. Something important. Was it? Important? Or not. Focus. Count to three. But what came first. Three? No. It was -- oh. Look. A Pokémon. What kind? Oh, well, whatever it is, it was getting uncomfortably close to the Psyduck’s head. Ah. That was it. He was being attacked?
With a loud quack, the Psyduck found his head being engulfed by the Larvitar’s jaws. He wriggled a little bit, wagging his tail to make the stupid creature let go. This was mildly uncomfortable. The pain didn’t exist, of course, so it didn’t particularly hurt. Of course. What did exist? Everything was still sort of spinning.
Psyduck used Tail Whip.

A... Tail Whip? Useful when used in combination with an offensive attack, yes, but not worth much at all on its own. Eleanor was starting to wonder just how mentally together her opponent was. Still, it was nothing a little intensive training wouldn't soon fix. Even as Dimitri let go, she was ordering him to use Leer and Bite again with that same cold expression the Psyduck probably coudn't even comprehend. As he rushed for the Psyduck, his own cold gaze preceeding a gnashing of sharp fangs, Eleanor had a Great Ball at the ready. The current malfunctions made it necessary. ::larvitar:: Dimitri used Leer and Bite. [/B]

Psyduck obviously wasn't the most truculent or intimidating of foes, by any means. In fact, he merely blinked back at the Larvitar as his defense was lowered, wondering what on Earth it's problem was. Maybe he'd ask? Now, the Psyduck was perfectly capable of speech, it was just getting him to actually use it that was the problem. Instead of making a proper query, he stared for a few seconds longer before loudly yelling, <DUCK?> at his opponent. It was at that moment that the Larvitar lunged toward him with voracious jaws.
With a head as empty as a disused scuttlebutt, the yellow Pokemon merely stared at the Larvitar in his current confusion, falling backward on his tail as pain washed over him. Only he didn't really feel the pain, and thus just sat there as his energy drained from him. A light throb started up as he snapped out of his confusion, and it was only then that he realized how much the wounds hurt.
<Not... nice...>
With those simple words, the duck struggled to his feet and wiggled his behind at his opponent before clawing at him rather weakly.
::psyduck:: Psyduck was hit by Leer and Bite! Psyduck snapped out of confusion! Psyduck used Tail Whip and Scratch!

There was some instinct, despite the high pitched screams the Psyduck seemed to love so much. The Scratch did a little more damage than it should have due to Dimitri's lowered defense, though it was still bearable.
"Leer and Bite again," she ordered, and Dimitri rushed forward again, glaring at the Psyduck as he clamped his teeth down, hopefully on the Psyduck's brainless skull.

The Psyduck yelled in pain as the jaws chomped down on his head. <Owowowow!!> He yelled. Stumbling backwards he shook his head. How rude of these people! Attacking him for no reason other than being stupid and no warning! He used Tail Whip, wiggling his tail to lower the defense and then went in for a Scratch once again. He really had no clue what he was doing, he was doing, well, that ever came to his brainless head.

Dimitri took the oppurtunity to jump aside to dodge the imminent scratch while the imbecile was wagging its tail, further lowering the Larvitar's defense. Hopefully it wouldn't last much longer. "Bite again," ordered Eleanor calmly, and the Larvitar obeyed, rushing forward with the speed that came from going straight on the offensive rather than using Leer first, before trying to clamp his teeth down again. This time he aimed for the Psyduck's midriff. Dimitri used Bite. [/B]

The poor Psyduck. He'd started off his day just being carefree and obnoxious as always, annoying the hell out of the other Pokemon on Route One, and now he was caught up in a battle and, though he wasn't aware of it yet, a potentially new member of the woman's team. Poor, poor yellow duck. Though maybe being a part of a team would be good for him, teach him not to be so thick-headed, and use normal speech more often.
Maybe.
Probably not, though.
His defenses already dropped as low as they could go, the Psyduck didn't stand a chance against this final bite. Feeling the jaws of the Larvitar rip into his flesh, he gave a pained shriek and then promplty fainted, landing in the dust with a quiet, <Psy... duuuck.> He was completely out of it, and provided Eleanor's Pokeballs functioned correctly, he probably wouldn't be able to escape.
::psyduck:: Hit by Bite. Psyduck has fainted! Attempt capture, or move on?

Taking out a Great Ball and holding it in both hands, Eleanor wasn't using the reinforced ball for the Psyduck's safety, but so she didn't have to waster a Revive on the stupid thing if the malfunctioning Pokeball damaged it.
She passed the Great Ball to her right hand and tossed it at the Psyduck's prone form while toying with a lock of her new hair. She had found a salon that had cut her hair that little bit shorter and given it some scarlet highlights. Hopefully it would show passers-by that she wasn't to be messed around.

As the ball closed around it, the Psyduck remained almost completely unconscious. A slight hint of awareness fluttered at the edge of his mind, taunting him like a kid reaching for the cookie jar on the top shelf. But tease as it might, the unconscious Psyduck remained quite oblivious. Who knew what he dreamed of as he technically slumbered through unconsciousness? Perhaps of lakes and rivers, or perhaps of food. His personality was so random and invasive that it was hard to tell.
At any rate, even the soft shocks of the Great Ball, much less painful than that of a lesser capsule, weren't enough to rouse the duck from his blissfull state. The ball stayed still for a couple of seconds, signifying the lack of fight inside, and then emitted a quiet ping.

Putting the Pokeball away with a smile, Eleanor was hopeful for what would happen next. Psyduck evolved into Golduck, which wasn't a Pokemon to be sniffed at thanks to its psychic abilities.
Patting the Pokeball confidently, Eleanor moved her scarlet hair from her eyes and moved further down the route.

Nearby, a friendly and naive Combee buzzed her way about some flowers, diligently fulfilling her duty to her hive as she collected honey. Thanks to the coming winter, the flowers were dying out, and it was much harder to sustain the Vespiqueen that led the hive. This worried the poor young bee, as her queen was her idol. What would they do if she died...? Combee had no idea, and thus she'd braved all kinds of cold these past three weeks to come out and collect honey.
So focused was she in her determination that she didn't even notice Eleanor and her recently-caught Pokemon. Which, if she'd known the personality of the violent femme, was a very bad thing indeed. But she had no idea what Eleanor was like, and so when she finally did notice the trainer, she buzzed happily and flew a little closer to drop a greeting.
<Why, hello!>
Bad, bad idea.
::combee:: Hit by nothing. Used no attacks.

Eleanor smiled sweetly as the Combee approached. She seemed to be a female, which was promising. Had she been dealing with the approaches of a male, Eleanor would have destroyed the drone and been done with it. But here was a female, who could someday become a Vespiquen. So full of potential. Potential Eleanor could harness. And the fact that the fool had been so idiotic as to come up and say hello to a Trainer meant that she might not be experienced in the ways of battle; possibly an easy fight. A sparking Pokeball sent out her Pidgey, which cawed as it soared around the air to land on Eleanor's shoulder. With the sweet, warm smile turning cold, Eleanor addressed the Combee. "You can go down easy or hard. If you prefer easy, don't resist. If you want a fight, it will hurt. Aeria, Gust."The Pidgey took flight and stared at the Bug Type with eyes that dared the honeycomb to resist as she flapped her wings, creating a strong blast of wind that would hurt the Combee if it made contact. ::pidgey:: Aeria used Gust. Pokemon encounter ! A cold chill ran through the friendly female Combee when Eleanor's inviting smile became an icy smirk; she'd made a mistake in greeting this potential danger. By Eleanor's next verbal challenge it was clear that she was bent on attacking her. Deeply preturbed, the innocent young insect offered no answer but silence and quickly buzzed past the trainer in an attempt to stay on route to the flowers.
She didn't expect the gust from Pidgey, however, and fell prey to the rushing winds. <Nooo!> Shrieked the princess bee as she realized that her situation had now become critical. She was the heir to her hive's throne - what would happen to them once her mother, the queen, perished without her? The hive would surely be crippled without a Queen to rule them. No, she had to fight this enemy and live on for her people!
Determination in her eyes, the young female bee turned towards the feathered fiend and and secreted a sweet, pink perfume from her scent glands. Quickly afterward, she flapped her wings and launched a gust of the sweet wind towards Aeria.

The Gust blew Aeria back as the Sweet Scent dazed her somewhat, and Eleanor smiled softly as her Pokémon regained her balance. The Combee intended to fight, it seemed, and Eleanor would give her that wish. But a little intimidation couldn't hurt, now could it? Couldn't hurt Eleanor at least. Her newly scarlet hair in the setting sun seeming almost bloody, she spoke to the Combee. "Aww, look at that determination in your eyes. You don't mind if I dull it, do you? Aeria. Sand Attack and Gust."Flapping her wings and kicking her feet, Aeria sent a spray of sand at the Combee's face to make up for the Sweet Scent's effects, before increasing the speed at which she beat her wings so that it would actually do damage if it hit. Aeria used Sand Attack and Gust. [/B]

Pokemon battle ! The young insect saw that her attack against the bird had done little damage, and her courage had done nothing to appease Eleanor into letting her go. The venom in the trainer's voice stung. Would she be doomed to spending the rest of her life trapped with this woman..?
It wasn't long before the vicious bird in front of her launched another onslaught of attacks against her, including a very irritating sand attack. Dust blew into the bee's eyes, interfering greatly with her vision. It was very bad for a Combee like her, since an insect's strong point was their great sight; now it had been taken from her She had no time to fly out of the cloud of sand before a gust rippled through the air toward her, causing her frail, young body to be swept around in the fierce winds. Her wings became damaged from the sand-filled wind, causing her to use up more energy flying.
Coughing out dust, the Combee wasted no time in attacking, desperately, once more. Flapping her tired, hole-filled wings, she launched yet another Gust at her feathered foe.

OOC: Poooor Combee. BIC: Eleanor watched her Pidgey struggle to stay airborne after that last attck. "Are you addicted to pain, little Combee?" she asked, an innocent edge of curiosity inexplicably in her voice. As Aeria righted herself, she shook her head, scarlet hair moving from side to side. "This could have been so much easier. Aeria. Sand Attack and Gust again," she commanded. With a crow of affirmation, Aeria repeated her previous attack pattern, Kicking sand at the bug's eyes, before flapping her wings to buffet the young Combee, hopefully into unconsciousness so Eleanor could capture her. Aeria used Gust.

The Combee screamed as the Gust came her way. The Sand-Attackhad missed thankfully but she didn't see the Gust coming her way. Being send into the trees she groaned. Getting up. she buzzed back over and sent a Sweet Scent towards the Pidgey's way. Hoping to draw it in for a close range attack, she shot a Gust it's way.
