Though the scent dazed Aeria, making her evasion fall, she tried to escape the incoming Gust with all her speed and might. However, failure was inevitable as the Gust buffeted her left and right, making her wince in pain. Eleanor was unmoved. "It's weakening. Gust." Aeria was clearly in bad shape too, but Eleanor was confident that her Pidgey would outlast the miserable Combee, who wouldn't stop with that pitiful squealing that made Eleanor want to crush it in the palm of her hand until it shut up. Most squealing and whimpering was bearable, but this Combee was an exception. Just before Pidgey released the powerful winds, Eleanor stepped forward, addressing the Combee. "Stop squealing, or I swear to Arceus I'll kill you myself." She remained calm in her facial expression, the glint in her eyes the only indication of her irritation with the little honeycomb. ::pidgey:: Aeria used Gust.

*Aeria gains a level * <So harsh.> The female Combee faltered at Eleanor's harsh bluff, not expecting such a cruel phase to escape the words of a human. Sure, she heard awful things about humans in the past season, but she never thought that it would be this bad. She felt the premonition of a gust attack before it even came at her, and her body froze with anticipation. 'This might be it.' She gulped as the winds started to blow right at her, kicking up some dust and leaves as the wind swirled around her. Spinning round and round from the dizzy looking gust of wind, the Combee fell straight to the ground with a pained squeal. Never had she been in such a rough, tough battle. She often considered herself to be one of the stronger Pokemon on the route, but this was humiliating. She tried to be malleable to bring herself through this, but it failed. Quite miserable, she fainted from the super effective attacks.

"I told you to stop squealing," Eleanor grabbed the prone Combee's wings. Not enough to tear them, but certainly enough to cause enough pain to make the Combee remember the experience.
"Now." Eleanor took out a Pokeball. "This will hurt. But if you escape, I'm going to have to hurt you even more. And I'm sure you don't want that now do you?" Eleanor released her hold on the wings and dropped a Pokeball onto the Combee's head without another word.

As Eleanor picked it up by the wing, the Combee weakly gasped from her state of unconsciousness. She remained unaware of what was going on in her dreamlike state, but at least for a while, she felt safe. Away from the cruel existence of the evil human that stood before her, tormenting her. There were children that were this cruel to bugs, except maybe more merciful. Ripping their wings apart only because they were curious, and ending their misery fast.
The ball that smacked her in the front of her head hit her hard, nearly paralyzing her from the super effective sparks that danced along the sides. It was almost like torture, being sucked in that defective, rusty Pokeball. She snapped her eyes open, suddenly aware of what was going on.
Was she in a Pokeball of some sorts? Or was she dead? She didn't know. It was so dark in here. So empty and lifeless. She whimpered fearfully as the ball rocked back and forth, trying to keep in this still, fearful Pokemon. It almost rejected her before letting out a sigh, signaling her capture.

As the Pokeball successfully captured the despondent Combee and vanished off to Eleanor's PC for whenever Eleanor required her. It seemed she had been utterly broken and terrified, which meant a job completed for Eleanor.
Returning Aeria to her sparking Pokeball, Eleanor flicked her red hair back behind her shoulder and moved down the route. Soon she would stop for the night, but the evening was young yet.

<Halt! I am the first of the five-fiend bird gang. You've tresspassed in our turf. Prepare for no mercy.> A sharp voice in the sound of a bird echoed throughout the clearing, and no less than 10 seconds later, a Taillow swooped out of the branches, circling above Eleanor's head. His narrow eyes tracked her movements, and somehow, he caught the sight of Pokeballs on her. Yes, from the trees, he saw her earlier with them. And now that she was over here, about to walk in dangerous territory, he now had every right to fight her.
<I am Engalf, the warrior. > He introduced, landing elegantly in front of her, making a mock bow in the process. Engalf's stern, yet imp-like expression seemed to hint at nothing but bad things. In fact, he was already wondering whether he should attack her directly.
Why the hell not. He hated humans with a passion. He charged at her face with a faintly glowing beak, using a Peck attack to make sure she backed off. Maybe if he was lucky, he could put some scars on her. Oh, how proud that would make him feel.

Eleanor stumbled back, blood and pain blossoming like a rose as the deep red liquid trickled down her cheek. It was not agony, far from it. But it certainly hurt. Eleanor brushed a single finger through the trickle of blood, before placing the finger in her mouth and calmly sucking the copper tasting substance until her finger and cheek were clean, before looking at the Taillow. "Are your kind really so eager to die?" she asked curiously, straightening to her full height as she tilted her head to one side. She expanded a Pokeball and sent out a long, lithe feline. A beautiful Glameow. "Birds don't like cats, right?" asked Eleanor with apparent innocence as the Glameow prowled around her feet. "Crystal, Fake Out." She smiled coldly at the Taillow. "It's time you knew what fear was."With a mew of obediance, the Glameow ran forwards, leaping into the air with a confident meow before bringing her paws together in a motion similar to clapping. A shockwave spread out from the point of contact, rushing for the Taillow as Crystal landed elegantly on her feet. ::glameow:: Level 10 Used Fake Out. [/B]

* Hit by Fake Out
Shoot! Engalf had not realized that the trainer had a Glameow within her possession. Now that was actually a common sight for Taillow like him in the forest, so he could deal with them from time to time. Especially the very inexperienced ones. However, it was not often when one dared to enter his territory. Not often at all. This was the first that one owned by a trainer attempted to enter though, which made this a whole new ball game.
<...interesting. I'll play your game, foolish girl.> Engalf declared, extending his wings bravely as he begun to take to the skies. However, the Glameow's Fake Out had priority, and with a speedy swipe he was knocked back to the ground with a shock wave going through his body.
A weak move, yes, but it made him flinch on the impact to the ground. If the Glameow was fast enough, maybe she could even make an offensive attack on him before he got away.

Eleanor smiled sweetly as the Taillow was knocked to the ground and stopped from making another move. How pathetic that its words and offense had built it up to be so strong, and then it was this. "Talk is cheap," murmured Eleanor softly as the blood from the Taillow's Peck wound dripped from her chin onto the route. "And you're nothing more than another bird, aren't you? You can attack me and call yourself strong. But you're false. And today, you'll die false." With a cold chuckle that hinted at Eleanor's lack of mercy, Eleanor redirected her attention to Crystal. "Growl and Scratch." Bounding forward yet again, Crystal unsheathed her claws with a taunting, purr-like growl, before rushing the temporarily ground-bound Taillow and aiming her claws in a slashing motion towards the Taillow's feathery chest. ::glameow:: Crystal used Growl and Scratch.

Upon hearing the Growl, Engalf's attack dropped slightly, and he felt a rush of anger as he recalled the woman's, trainer of this foul beast's, words. <The only one that shall die here is the one who denies my strength!> the bird insisted bravely, even though the Glameow was likely to win. He was certainly tough enough to best a lot of the low-leveled route Pokemon, and this had given him the idea that he was unbeatable. A foolish idea, but one's ego sometimes got the better of them.
Blood bloomed warm scarlet across his chest-feathers, staining the white with a threatening color. Engalf looked down at his wound with disbelief, then renewed his resolve. <When I am through, it shall be a brilliant battle-scar depicting the tale of the beast's defeat!> The beast, of course, being the Glameow that had attacked him. Righting himself and flapping into the air, he locked his gaze onto the foe and focused his power before diving toward her with rapid speed.

The focussed attack forced Crystal into a backflip, landing hard on her wiry back. Though she scrambled to her feet quickly, she did so with a dazed expression. That attack had hit the Glameow hard. "When you are through, you will be a bloody carcass being picked bare by the scavengers. How glorious an image is that? Crystal, Scratch"Without the delay of a Growl, Crystal was faster, lunging for the Taillow with claws outstretched, this time aiming for the eyes. Since she had no desire to keep the Taillow alive or capture it, it didn't matter how she injured it. It would in fact be better if she damaged the eyes. A blind Taillow was a broken Taillow. ::glameow:: Crystal used Scratch.

This time, Engalf had no self-confident or valiant words to share as the Glameow lunged for him, her sharp claws lancing across his face. He knew a blinding - no pun intended - agony, and when he tried to get a focus on his opponent, he realized that he could barely see. One of his eyes still remained functioning, but the blood spilling into it from his facial wounds was blurring and reddening his vision. The Glameow was a much fiercer opponent than this Taillow had envisioned, and he was paying the price for making this mistake. Drat. Why had he been so foolish?
Giving up, however, was no longer an option. Half-blinded, it wouldn't be terribly hard for the Glameow to jump up and pull him out of the skies if he tried to flee. No, the only option he had was to continue fighting.
Fight, and hope for the best.
Trying to get a good hit on the cat was even harder when he couldn't see out of one eye, but the weakening bird voiced no complaint as he clenched his beak. He wanted to kill that cat and rip it into shreds, wear it's soft fur like a victory suit. Even he wasn't usually this graphic in his mental violence, but she'd angered him. He'd lost part of his vision to this foul fiend. Screeching his distaste, the Taillow jabbed his beak toward the feline femme.

Leaping gracefully aside, Crystal ourred softly. The Taillow's vision had been compromised, and chances were it wouldn't last much longer. Nowe it was time to take out the other eye. Eleanor would have never been this vicious in a Trainer battle, or against a Pokemon she wanted to capture, but this Taillow had no appeal to her, and in her eyes deserved death. "It's OK to be scared," she said quietly. "Crystal, Scratch again. Take out the other eye."This command was immediately obeyed by Crystal, who dashed forward at an alarmingly fast rate, raising her claws in an attempt to remove what remained of the attacking Taillow's vision. ::glameow:: Crystal used Scratch. Words finally came to the Taillow’s mind. Even blinded, even if he fell, he would fall with pride. <I have never known fear,> Engalf proclaimed, forcing his chirps to remain steady and void of the pain that streamed through his veins. This cat was showing as little pity as he, himself wanted to. None. There would be no further battles if this next attack hit. He would die.
Was he afraid? Yes, he certainly was. However, he was part of the Five-Fiend Bird Gang. No fear was part of their motto. He would die with his head held high, fighting bravely to the last. If he could take a bit of the cat down with him? All the better.
Standing with his feet firmly on the ground, Engalf prepared to peck at Crystal’s own eyes as the feline dashed closer and delivered the fearsome attack. Pain flooded every aspect of the bird’s being, but he had the cat where he wanted her. Trying to remember where he’d seen her face, he screeched in pain and rage as he tried to peck at her own face with the last bit of his strength.
::taillow:: Engalf was hit by Scratch. Engalf used Peck. Engalf is about to kick the bucket.

It was mainly the Glameow's face that received the brutal peck. However, a glancing blow pierced her left eye, which would leave her half blinded until she healed. Nothing that a Potion wouldn't quickly accomplish though. "Are you happy?" Eleanor asked the dying bird scornfully. "You've died on your own. You've accomplished nothing. You're just a blind and bloody mess. Crystal, Scratch."Rushing forward with a hiss of rage, Crystal aimed her wickedly sharp claws at the Taillow's soft, bloodstained chest, raking vertically and horizontally. ::glameow:: Crystal used Scratch. Engalf has died. Crystal gains a level.
The final scratch attack was enough to rake through his body, going through an older wound that the Glameow dug into several times before. He gasped as his wings struggled to hold the wound, crashing into the ground with a messy thud, the still body of the bird rested with an eerie expression in its eyes.
How he wished he could've died knowing he gave the Glameow a run for her money, but the only satisfaction he could take was the blood on the human's face. She could try and get farther, but the rest of the Five-Fiend bird gang could take them...right?

"Good girl," murmured Eleanor, stroking the Glameow, who purred contentedly as Eleanor's hand ran over her slender, wiry form.
As she devoured her kill, Eleanor sprayed a Potion on the damaged eye. Although Crystal gave a quiet mew of pain, she didn't struggle against the healing tonic, which pleased Eleanor. The feline wasn't a weakling.
Returning the Glameow to her Pokeball, Eleanor moved on, content that she had taught the obnocious bird a fatal lesson.

<Sweet Arceus,> a half-dozing Spearow mumbled. <Someone get them some marriage counselling...>
Who was he talking about, you ask? Well, at that moment, a pair of Buneary were strolling up the path, arguing in very loud voices, obviously too absorbed within their own problems to give a damn if they were disturbing anyone.
<Whaddya mean, I ain't tough enough, huh?> the male demanding, obnoxiously flexing his muscles in the face of his mate, who merely rolled her eyes and shoved his arm out of her vision with a mutter of, <Why did my parents insist I be with you?> She had been the one to stop yelling first, her throat sore from the repetitive argument they'd been having ever since she'd stormed out of their home. <Any other girl would have been damn happy to get a man like me, but you? You ain't done shit for me since we got together!>
Turning to him, she said in a very deliberate voice, <Because I hate you. Loathe you. Abominate. Abhor.> She really couldn't have been more clear, with her bold words and gelid treatment of him, but the male just wasn't getting it.
<I'll show you how tough I am! Watch!>
And thus he rushed up to Eleanor and punched her leg with as much force as he could.

Well well. Hadn't he made this personal? Eleanor would give him a little kick before she actually called a Pokemon out. Looking down at the Buneary as her leg throbbed with a dull pain, he gave him her best smile combined with her coldest glare, to show her she wasn't to be messed with. At this point, most people would have summoned a Pokemon, but not Eleanor. Since the Buneary had attacked her, she would attack it first. Lifting her unpained leg, she winked at the Buneary, before bringing her dharp heeled shoe forward in an attempt to kick the Buneary. It was only then that she summoned Goku. ::chimchar::

The Buneary hadn't really thought about action and reaction when he'd punched her, he'd really just been trying to show off to his mate. And so when Eleanor punted him, the surprisingly light Pokemon flew back several feet and slammed into a tree, shocked and winded. He lay there for a moment, trying to get a grip on what had just happened, while nearby his mate laughed nefariously at him, spewing a nimiety of insults as she did so. In her opinion, the stupid bastard was only getting what was coming to him.
Hearing the laughter of the woman he was trying so hard to impress, the Buneary pushed himself to his feet and glared furiously at Eleanor. How dare she screw up his chances at scoring with a woman? No woman wanted him, and finally when someone was forced into a relationship with him, she dumped him anyways! Truly down on his luck, he was now attempting to woo her.
Curling into a ball-shape momentarily to jack up his defense, the rabbit noticed with distaste that the woman had let out one of her Pokemon. Huh. Fair enough, he'd just have to pound them into oblivion. With every intent of doing so, the Buneary rushed the Chimchar and attempted to slam a meaty fist into it's side.
::buneary:: Hit by Eleanor. Pwned by tree. Buneary used Defense Curl! (+1 Defense). Buneary used Pound on Chimchar!
