Sierra pranced towards the pokeball and picked it up, tossing it in the air and catching it with both clumsily before putting the precious new pokemon's capsule onto her belt. She tapped the ball a bit, saying "Hm... I think I'll call you Pascal." The name seemed fitting to her, a good one for such a jolly pokemon.
She set off again on the route - then she decided to walk off road a little, into the trees. She still kept the road in view, but she wanted to meet and catch more pokemon as she went, and it was probably a good idea to be near pokemon habitats for that. Seryl followed next to her, still a bit dazed and uncaring about what she chose at the moment.

Not too far to the front, a pokemon was digging a hole in the ground with its little paws, getting dirt all over its dual-toned fur. She did not notice the trainer, focused on her task, paws working furiously at the base of the tree, between two large roots. Dig, dig, dig, dig, damn roots, dig, dig, dig. The debris flew behind her, forming a small mount of roots and soil. ::Zigzagoon:: Investigate?

Sierra caught sight of a pokemon that seemed all too familar - a zigzagoon busily digging a hole down in front. Chewing on a pocky stick, she tried to look for signs that this was the cynical raccoon she'd met before, then shrugged. Oh, well. It would be good experience for her new friend if she struck a battle with this fella.
She took out her newly caught pokemon and sent out Pascal, who struck a pose as he was released from the capsule's isolation. He stretched comically, even though he'd only been in the ball for a few moments, which made Sierra giggle a bit. She gestured forward at the zigzagoon that was digging, putting a hushing finger to her mouth. Pascal nodded a bit, then scooted up to the raccoon - who obviously wasn't the one he was playing bush wars with - and tapped his shoulder. Sierra couldn't stifled a manic giggle as he did this.
Seryl just watched blankly, in awe of his owner's utter patheticness. She and her new friend would get along just fine, at least.

The zigzagoon let out a cry, jumping up when the buizel touched her. Upon seeing she had been disturbed by another, she quickly became agressive. < Hey, hey, hey, back off! What are you doing here? This is my territory and there aint no treasure here, so you'd better get going,> she said, her fur standing up on its ends, trying to make herself look bigger and more intimidating. Hoping the others wouldn't notice, she used a back paw to nudge a couple of berries she had found earlier, and had wanted to hide in a hole, so that they were hidden a bit better. < Come on, now. I'm sure you guys have better things to do, so scram!>

Sierra nearly jumped when the zigzagoon reacted so panicky. It was obvious that the little coon dog was hiding something of value. She bent down to look at the zigzagoon, hands on her hips. "I'm afraid we don't have anything better to do." Said Sierra, smiling warmly. "And we didn't ask about treasure, so why do you mention it?"
She sighed and straightened back up. "Listen, how about we have a battle. If we win, you share half of what you're hiding with us, and if you win, we leave you alone. Deal?" She asked, though all she wanted was to have a battle with the young zigzagoon.

< TREASURE? Who said anything about any treasure? I'm not trying to hide any treasure, nuh-uh! Nope, sir-ee, no treasure here, so no treasure to split, so just move along, because you don't want to mess with me!> hissed the zigzagoon. < Really, battling me would just leave you weeping in a corner, so just move along, now, move along if you don't want to get hurt.> The zigzagoon had a little smirk on her face. They might not know this, but she was the BEST zigzagoon in the area. She had never been defeated by another pokemon, and wasn't going to allow this human to ruin her streak. Besides, those berries were HERS. She was not about to share it with some third-class newbies that obviously never battled a supreme fighter like her. ::Zigzagoon::

Sierra huffed frustratedly. She didn't know a pokemon could make her this annoyed, but Pascal was laughing his head off. The female zigzagoon largely reminded him of his other zigzagoon friend. "Well now, let's just see if we'll be weeping in a corner, hmm?" She challenged, and turning to the side she nodded to Pascal to step out and battle the high-strung 'goon. He needed the experience, after all.
She stuck out her finger and commanded, "Use Growl and Sonicboom!" Pascal nodded excitedly, then growled cutely at the raccoon dog. He then jumped to the side, went on all fours, stuck out his maul, and parted his jaws to allow the odd shock waves to leave his body.

The female zigzagoon growled at the duo as the persisted in their attempt to challenge her. <I said shoo!>
The idea however was instantly dropped as she was so harshly attacked. HOW RUDE! UGH! THE NERVE OF TRAINERS! SO COCKY! 'A cute growl? Talk about coming out of the closet.' She thought to herself as she braced herself for the sonicboom. Owwie. 20HP down the drain. Slacking fool of a Zigzagoon! Geez, step up your game. Her turn. Turning to the water weasel, the Zigzagoon charged at it with a swift headbutt. How do you like them Oran Berries punk?

"Dodge it, Pascal!" Sierra shouted, as the zigzagoon began to charge at her new pokemon, but the two were too close for the buizel to begin to try to dodge it. The headbutt hit him in the side, sending him flying towards a tree. However, the pain didn't bother the silly otter too much, and he stepped down and shook his bruised fur a bit to get his head back in the battle.
Sierra tapped her foot anxiously as she watched her Buizel step back onto the field. "Now, quick attack!" She ordered, her voice lowered a bit. Pascal obeyed immediately, knowing that if he hesitated the zigzagoon might have more time to dodge. Sprinting on all fours at the raccoon, he aimed his body straight at the zigzagoon's face.

The zigzagoon was not the best in the area for nothing. She might have been caught off guard by that sonicboom, but this quick attack was never going to land on her. She dodged to the side, snickering under her breath and immediately started to dig again, sending debris to where she had been moments prior. Was it a cheap move? Maybe. Did she really care? Not at all. As she dug, she used a tail whip to further distract the stupid little weasel pokemon before darting off to hide behind a shrub. This was her territory, her terrain, and she was not going to lose! ::Zigzagoon:: <Tail Whip>

Buizel couldn't stop running after he used quick attack, so he just continued chasing Zigzagoon with it. The tail whip served not as a distraction, but more of a signpost pointing out where his target was going. He nearly landed into the hole that the zigzagoon dug, but by then he was already quick enough to jump over it and follow the raccoon into her hiding place.
Sierra laughed, clapping her hands together, as she watched her new pokemon perform the maneuver. She hadn't thought of of continuing to use quick attack in order to dodge the coon's shifty actions.

The Zigzagoon cursed under her breath. Trainer pokemon were indeed more crafty than the wild ones. They were able to harness the mental capabilities of the humans, which was an unfair advantage. Well, she would just have to try harder. She could feel the Buizel closing in behind her, but was unable to dodge the attack. The water pokemon hit her side but she did not let it deter her from using a headbutt at this close range, pulling her head back a bit before slamming it back down, aiming for the Buizel's own head. ::Zigzagoon:: <Headbutt>

Buizel attempted to swerve to the side to avoid the headbutt, but only succeeded in getting hit in the belly instead. This forced the air out of him somewhat, and he stumbled backward to catch his breath. The damage to his body was building up.
"Growl and follow it up with Water gun, Pascal!" Shouted Sierra, delighted that Pascal had so many attacks to choose from. It was easier than battling with Seryl, who as of yet only knew one damage-dealing attack. Opponents easily caught on when battling him, but maybe she could catch some enemies off guard with her new friend.
Pascal stood after successfully regaining himself, then emitted another growl at his enemy. Afterward, he stood taller for a better view, took aim at the Zigzagoon, and unleashed a thick stream of water from his parted jaws.

The zigzagoon completely ignored the growl. Really, that little pokemon was trying to act cute in front of her? What did she look like to him? A harlot? Her eyes steeled, watching carefully for a sign of the next attack that was bound to happen, ready to dart out of the way the instant it started. The buizel's mouth opened to let the jet of water out, and by then, the speedy 'goon was already out of the way. She hated projectile attacks, but there was a very large flaw in then; their flanks were always exposed, and that is exactly where she aimed her tackle at. That would teach the stupid weasel to try any more cutesy acts. Once she became victorious, her notoriety would soar, and no one would even dare to mess with her anymore! ::zigzagoon:: <Tackle>

"Dodge and use Sonicboom while she's open!" Shouted Sierra, thinking quickly to try to match with the Zigzagoon's speed. The thing was dodging every other attack, for goodness' sake. Hopefully countering her with speed of their own would help.
Pascal heard the command and dodged the coming tackle by sidestepping - then, in the same liquid movement, he pivoted on his hind paw and shot the powerful shock waves from his jaws. He faced the zigzagoon while she was (hopefully) still running from the tackle attack she'd tried to execute.

Oh how the zigzagoon hated that attack. The radius of the sonicboom expanded dramatically, making it hard to dodge, even for a pro like her. She winced as the sound wave shook through her body, making her fur stand on its ends. Well, it was time to end this. She was not going to stand this pokemon in her territory any longer. She dashed into the bushes to prepare for her attack, hopping from one hiding spot to another before stealthily climbing onto a tree. It was her favorite tree, where she gathered stones and brought them up on a daily basis for exactly this reason. With the stones all lined up at her launching pad, the pokemon used a tail whip to throw them onto the ground, raining them all over the area. ::Zigzagoon:: <Tail Whip...?>

Sierra watched, face skeptical, as the zigzagoon climbed a tree and rained stones down on the vicinity. The danger of the situation finally clicked in her head, and she knelt on one knee as she crossed her arms above her head to block the coming attack. "Hey! What the hell are you doing, cheater!" Sierra shouted, the rocks bouncing hard off of her arms and leaving bruises.
She looked to the side and noticed that her buizel was getting tired from the battle, busy dodging the oncoming rocks. She stood, shielding her face from the stones meanwhile, and took a potion out of her purse to use on her beloved friend. Applying it to the otter's wounds cleared them up immediately, and Pascal felt his energy coming back. Sierra took the opportunity to whisper commands in his ear, seeing that she was close enough to him to do so. "Use water gun to shoot that zigzagoon off the tree," She whispered, then took cover behind a few bushes and rocks.
Pascal dodged a few more stones, then, hoping for it to take the zigzagoon by surprise, launched a sudden water gun at the Zigzagoon's face.

The zigzagoon took no notice in the taunt. She knew she did not play fair -- really, who could keep such a long winning streak without using a couple of underhand moves once in a while -- and only laughed at the girl's comment. As the first wave of stones ran out, she quickly hurried another wave, moving the stones into place. Of course, this made her unaware of the exchange between pokemon and trainer and was completely caught off guard by the point-blank attack which sent her flying off the trees. What was this? The first volley should have weakened the buizel to the point where retaliation was impossible! She only stopped flying when she hit a tree, promptly making her faint. ::Zigzagoon:: Zigzagoon fainted.

Sierra didn't hold in a huge laugh as her plan worked, sending the silly Zigzagoon flying so far that she hit a tree a few meters away. Pascal belted out a laugh of his own and jumped to high-five Sierra. The dark-grey haired girl let out a sigh of mirth, then turned to face Pascal again. "You deserve a rest now," She suggested, then took out his ball again. However, the buizel, feeling refreshed from the potion, shook his head rapidly no. <C'mon, let's play Bush Wars again!> He begged, hopping around excitedly. Sierra couldn't find it in herself to say no, and told Seryl to take a rest on a tree near her. He complied and watched, amused, as the two played a game of Bush Wars in which Sierra gained the win.
She cheered excitedly and laughed with glee as the buizel, beaten once again, shook his head in dissapointment and amusement. Then Sierra stood and dragged her hand across her face. "Whew! Well, let's go, you guys," She said, straightening up and planting a stick of pocky in her mouth. Pascal and Seryl stood and walked beside her on both sides, excited for what the future held.
Bored, she decided to walk over to a tree and shake it to see what came out. What if she got a really cool pokemon from it? Well, only one way to find out.

The tree leaves shuddered a bit from the shake, a couple of loose, sickly leaves floating onto the ground while the healthier ones stayed put. Suddenly, one, two, three, fourfiveSIX seedots fell to the ground. The young acorn Pokémon stared up at the trainer, eyes wide with fear. <What do we do now?> <Oh no, what'd going to happen?> <I'm too young to diiiie!> In unison the Pokémon all squeezed their eyes shut and used a Harden to protect themselves.
