OOC: Mod for a random Pokémon battle please . Anyone can join I suppose, just keep it below two people, 'kay? ..because they could not see ahead of them. …and since he wanted so to see ahead, he looks behind and walks a backward path.Adeleine wistfully walked down the dirt road. She glanced around, hoping to see someone, something, anything. Alas, all there was was more dirt road. She sighed, and she felt she was getting tired. She sighed once more, and took a set in some low-cut grass underneath a shaded tree. She took out a book, and sent out her Pokémon. Calcabrina, a Pokémon she hadn't known for long, popped out of its pokeball. <"Hey Adeleine! Story time?"> Calcabrina happily chripped, and Adeleine giggled childishly. Calcabrina nudged against her bag, and she motioned at it. "Yes, yes, I'll read you a story! Calm down, and take a seat." Calcabrina cried happily, and seated itself down on the grass as best as a Castform could. Adeleine pulled out one of her storybooks, and flipped to a section. She couldn't finish the entire book, so she opted for some poetry. "’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe..." It sounded silly and like gibberish, so Calcabrina just gave a confused grunt. <"What's a "mome rath"? Is it fun?"> Adeleine couldn't understand her pokemon, but she patted it on the head. It was really young on one hand, maybe it was confused. "It may be a bit confusing, I suppose. Just enjoy the story."[/b] Adeleine continued to read the rest of the poem, completely oblivious to any Pokémon around her.

Whismur wasn't outright rude. She just had a really bad sense of timing. And as for noise? Well, it was almost impossible to be louder than this little piglet. Climbing up onto a rock, she looked around for an even higher place. It looked like the nearest place was a moderately sized tree near the rock. Scampering excitedly over to it, Whismur clambered onto the bark with her tiny hands and started to climb. The weather was quickly becoming gelid, but her wiry lilac coat was keeping the piglet warm. As she climbed up onto the branch, she opened her mouth and yelled with all the strength she could muster in her larynx. Although to her and other Whismur, it was a beautiful song, to most others it would be an abominable torture. Starly flew from the tree, cawing in fear and irritation. Rattata, Budew, Caterpie and Sunkern fled, squealing in terror as the Uproar actually did damage to their bodies. The pig's roar grew fearful and even more high pitched as a Starly clipped her on its retreat, knocking her off the branch. She grabbed onto the branch and held on for dear life, but it was clear that she couldn't last long. Mood: Terrified Whismur uses Uproar in her fear.

Adeleine covered her ears when the piercing shriek encompassed her ears. She jolted up and found the source of the shrieking was a Whismur. It was hanging on for dear life! Adeleine didn't want to see it hurt, so she ran over to the tree and held out her arms.
"Please, drop down! I'll catch you!" Adeleine shouted loudly upwards towards the Whismur. It hurt her on the inside to see it fearing for its life. Calcabrina was panicking, and then it flew up to the Whismur and shouted to it, the uproar was rising to critical levels.
<"My trainer will catch you! Please, just drop down!"> Calcabrina shouted in its loudest voice, it would resort to force if needed.
::Castform:: Mood: Worried Calcabrina attempts to reason with the Whismur!

The Whismur shrieked in her fright, constantly looking down and feeling extremely nauseous from being so high up. W-What was going to happen to her if she fell? She would fall right on that scary human that was right below her, possibly trying to eat her. She cried in her plight, both paws scrabbling for the branch above her, trying to get farther along before it could break on her.
The branch began to crack, and hearing its soft snap she began to panic. Wobbling even harder than before, she tried to move to a safer, more stabler branch before she fell. Falling was scary, and landing was painful. Both things she feared. She gulped as the branch broke from the rough treatment, leaving her to fall to her doom.
<Ahhh! Please! Help!> She cried, flailing her arms about as if she could just fly away. Except she was a tad too chubby to be doing that, but she had to at least try. Oh dear, someone better help her.

Adeleine gasped, and jutted over slightly to the left to make a diving catch for the Whismur. She caught it, but she fell onto the grass with a slight "omph". She patted it on the head, and calmly talked to it. "There, there; you're safe now. Would you like to heard a story? I've got quite a few books in my bag..." Adeleine dug out the book she was reading earlier and showed it to the Whismur, her face beaming with pride. "It's one of my favorite stories, you can stay and read or leave if you'd like." Adeleine sat the Whismur down, adjusted her dress and position, and began flipping through the pages. Calcabrina gave a "hurrah", and sat beside Adeleine. <"Story time, story time!"> Calcabrina nudged the Whismur, and told her to quiet herself. <"Shh! If you don't keep quiet, you can't listen to the story!"> Calcabrina chided her in a friendly manner, and returned to her seat to listen to the story once more. Mood: Content Calcabrina and Adeleine attempt to befriend the Whismur!::modcoin::

The Whismur whimpered in fear. Her eyes having a scared look in them. She looked around wildly and jumped out of the Trainer's arms. She tried to scramble away from the Trainer, she's heard what Trainers do! She couldn't let herself get caught! <G-g-g-get away f-f-f-from me!!> She yelled.
She slammed herself into a tree trunk and then stummbled backwards. She shook her head at what Calcabrina had said. <S-s-s-story t-t-t-time?> She asked. Like a little child she slowly came closer to the Trainer. <W-w-w-w-what kind of s-s-s-s-story?>
::Whismur:: Rammed into a tree, oh dear. Wants to know what kind of story. lol

Adeleine lost her composure for a second and let out a small fit of laughter. She fixed her hair, and showed the book to the Whismur.
"You want to read this? It's a wonderful story about how a girl makes her way through a really strange place! It's a great read, and it's really fun to listen to..." Calcabrina cut off her trainer with a cry.
<"Yea! It's fun! Fun!"> Calcabrina flew in circles above Adeleine; she couldn't help but smile.
"You two are so cute! It's fun to have some company around. I'm used to just being alone with books, but reading books to others makes me not lonely anymore!" Adeleine smiled, and then she brought a hand to her mouth in realization.
"I've barely known you two for long, I'm so sorry. We'll talk later, so then..." She opened to a page, and began reading regardless of what the Whismur thought.
"Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do; once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, "and what is the use of a book," thought Alice, "without pictures or conversations?" Adeleine got through the first paragraph of the story, and then turned to both of the pokemon, Calcabrina was spinning around and around. She was passionate about painting pictures in all living creatures' minds, be them human or Pokémon. She giggled at Calcabrina's enthusiasm.
<"More, more! What happened next?"> Adeleine patted Calcabrina on the head, and waggled her finger.
"Now, now Calca; we have to ask our guest what they want to do!" Calcabrina nodded sheepishly, and turned to the Whismur.
"I'm Adeleine, and this is Calcabrina. Pleasure." Adeleine patted the Whismur on the head, and knelt down closer than she already was to the ground. She gave the Whismur a firm, yet gentle look.
"Would you like to continue to listen? I'd love to read a story!" Adeleine softly admitted; she wasn't the least bit ashamed of being a bibliophile.
::Castform:: Mood: Elated Adeleine begins her story!

Whismur's childish side came out as the story began, and her bashful side joined it as she was called cute. The little pig blushed adorably, and walked closer to the human. Her mother had told her not to trust humans too much... but this one was so nice. And she had another Pokemon who seemed to revere her greatly, so at the very least she was a nice guy. The fall and her original fear of the human forgotten, she moved closer to the Trainer and her Castform. "Read more, r-r-read more!" she squealed excitedly, moving closer to the Trainer and snuggling into the crook of his arm. ::whismur:: Mood: Adorable Interested.

Adeleine giggled, patting the Whismur on the head all the while.
"You are so adorable! I wish you could come along with us, that'd be amazing. However, let's finish reading the story first." Adeleine flipped the page, going to the next paragraph.
"So she was considering, in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her!" While not being malicious, Adeleine stopped reading after the next paragraph. She smiled, and patted the Whismur on the head.
"I have an idea! Let's make a deal. Let's battle. If you win, I'll read you the rest of the chapter. If I win, you can come with me; okay? I'm very kind and caring of my pokemon." Calcabrina nodded, she floated next to the Whismur.
<"She's right you know! I wouldn't want some trainer to come by and hurt you! Adeleine's a really great trainer. So, what'll it be?"> Calcabrina circled above Whismur in a elated fashion, Adeleine waiting for the Whismur's answer.

Hmm... The offer was tempting, and Whismur did so want to hear the remainder of the story. Putting a tiny hand to her chin, she rubbed it thoughtfully for a moment, apparently deep in thought. Coming to a decision, she nodded. >OK. A friendly b-b-battle,< she stammered. B-but... keep your p-promise, O-OK?< she asked, sheepishly scuffing her feet on the dusty ground. >I suppose y-you can go f-first,< she said sweetly, looking up at the human innocently. D-don't be too rough on me, OK?< she asked the Castform anxiously. ::whismur:: Mood: Anxious. Ready. Whismur accepts your challenge.

OOC: Go!Adeleine got up and took a place a few feet away from the Whismur, she felt bad about this but she couldn't befriend every pokemon with kindness. It required some force. She shot a glance at Calcabrina, who flew over to her side. Calcabrina happily floated around. <"Here we go! Just give me the order!"> Seeing her anxious, Adeleine shifted her hands to behind her back. "I'll start this off, Ominous Wind." For a second, nothing happened; but soon a tremulous gust of wind blew through the battle field. The trees shook, the leaves fell, and the grass was begging for mercy. The purple monstrosity drew closer to the Whismur, and was reaching it extremely quickly. Adeleine had a sort of contempt in her voice. "Calca, be careful. Don't overdo it, it's a friendly match!" Adeleine chided, she didn't want to hurt the Whismur any more than needed. ::Castform:: Mood: Overexcited Used Ominous Wind!

Whismur shook, unsure of what to do. That wind was so scary! Whismur tumbled on the ground of Route One, silent for only a moment. She started to squeal, which transformed into an uproar. <O-ow!> A delayed exclamation could be heard from far away. Used Uproar!

Adeleine covered her ears, the piercing sound wasn't critical because Whismur had more consideration than that, but the uproar was going to continue for awhile! Adeleine, flustered, flicked her hair behind her with her hands quickly before returning them to her hands. She tried to shout over the Whismur.
"Calca, use Ominous Wind!" Calca was getting a bit dizzy due to Uproar, she spun and spun and spun in circles...but she was still using Ominous Wind. Adeleine gasped, this wouldn't turn out well!
"Calca, stop!" Calca stopped summoning wind, but it was too late. The wind had turned into a purple tornado, and Calca was flung out of the eye and next to Adeleine. The tornado was on a crash course for the tree, and by relation, the Whismur. It ate up all the grass and foliage and rocks in it's wake and made an erratic path of destruction all the way to Whismur.
The temperature is dropping ever so slightly...
::Castform:: Mood: Dizzy, a bit weakened due to Uproar and Ominous Wind. Castform launches an uncontrolled Ominous Wind at the Whismur; Adeleine isn't liking where this is going!

Whismur gulped at the sight of the tornado, stopping her uproar. <EEEK!> She shrieked. <N-not fair!> The tornado sucked her up, battering her little body. Constant squeals could be heard, though they weren't an attack.
When she finally was released, Whismur was toddling around wearily. She couldn't fight like this! But she did anyway. Waddling, she tried to use Pound on Calcabrina.

The sky started to hail!Adeleine rubbed her arms, the hail was chilling her. She then realized that she forgot about the entire battle! She turned to see Whismur try to pound Calcabrina! Alas, Whismur just went through Calcabrina. Adeleine was gaping. "What in the world!" Adeleine then saw Calcabrina reformulate, looking very different. It seemed engulfed by an icy chill, and its body was a purple center. She thought about how it looked different before...so it must be the weather that changes it! "Well...it did help us dodge this attack! Here, it must be weak by now. Use tackle!" Adeleine commanded Calcabrina to tackle the Whismur, and to end this once and for all. ::CastformH:: Mood: Determined Calabrina has morphed into Castform's hail form!

Poor little Whismur. The tackle caught her off guard and she found herself flung hard to the ground as it bowled her off her feet. Struggling to stand on her stumpy little legs, she wobbled for a moment. <I-I-I'm not done j-j-j-ust yet!> she stuttered, clearly weakened from the battle so far.
She opened her mouth, the loud cry emanating deep from her throat. It was a keening sort of sound; sharp and shrill. Despite how weak she felt, the cute little Whismur wasn't going to give up just yet.

Adeleine had to admit, she would have lost this battle if she wasn't lucky. She didn't really feel like she deserved to win this, but hey; she couldn't give up now. She adjusted her hair, and straightened out her dress. The hail was buffering Whismur, lucky her; and Calcabrina even managed to dodge attacks with it. Did she really have to rely on weather to win? Regardless, she pressed forward.
"Whismur...I'm sorry. I promised you the best fight I can give you. Ominous Wind." This time, there seemed to be an improvement.
Castform's stats have risen due to Ominous Wind.
This time, Calcabrina summoned another purple tornado; without any stress. It didn't even cause any collateral damage, and went straight for the Whismur without any problems.
<"Our last stand, here I go!"> Calcabrina kept a happy demeanor, but she was still in firm resolve.
::CastformH:: Mood: Determined Calcabrina launches a strong Ominous Wind! All stats have been increased!

The purple wind lifted little Whismur into the air, spinning the little pig around, almost drowning out her squeals, which grew more fearful until the wind dumped her onto the ground with a squeak, temporarily stopping her screams. Getting to her feet, the little piglet noticed that no new pain had come to her. She was fine. she opened her mouth. >I won't l-l-lose to you!< she yelled before resuming her screams. She wanted to hear the rest of Adeleine's' story! She wouldn't lose. Mood: Determined Whismur is weakening. Whismur's Uproar continues.

Adeleine realized why the second attack didn't work; immunity.
"Immunity? I see, must have been the debris the first time." Adeleine made a rookie mistake; common. Well, only one thing to do.
"Tackle away! See if you can finish it off!" Calcabrina complied, and began to charge up a tackle and try to finish the Whismur off. The uproar hurt, but Calcabrina was desperate to connect a tackle! Calca shrugged it off, and continued on with her rush. She had to win, Adeleine was counting on her!

On the sidelines stood Taiki with an umbrella opened above his head. He had been walking through Route 1 when he had begun to hear loud shrieking. It then suddenly decided to start hailing. Screaming and hailing was not a very safe mixture so he decided to follow the sound and to his surprise he stumbled onto a battle! On one hand, a young girl with a beautiful dress was commanding a Castform. On the other was a loud little Whismur. He was already feeling signs of a headache coming on soon and the loud Uproar was definitely not helping.
"If that girl doesn't stomp that Whismur soon I'm going to do it for her," thought Taiki. Since she was the first Pokémon Trainer he encountered, he decided to wait and observe the battle; it would also be the first Pokémon battle he ever witnessed. Might as well stick around.
