Grazing on grass for a heartbeat, Spirit trotted forward, deeper into the confines of Route One. Soaked undergrowth surrounded them; the sky was dismal and dreary from the rain that pounded down on their heads. The distant crackle of lightning made her tempted to rear up. She didn’t like going back in her Pokéball, nor did she appreciate it when Mawely offered it, but the rain was so cold on her mane that it was uncomfortable. Her hock and fetlock joints were getting stiff, as well as her knees – she needed to rest.
Mawely was looking around when he noticed the Fire Horse Pokémon rock slightly, and then crouch down onto her knees before letting her hind legs down, to lie on the ground with her hooves under her. She looked tired and Mawely couldn’t blame her – she’d been walking for a while now. Climbing off of her back, he rested Voltorb down on the ground and sat down with it, curious as to if they would get along. The Voltorb simply stared at him for a moment and rolled around on the ground, clearly bored. It could be said that Mawely missed being in the war, but at the same time, he wasn’t, and he was grateful that he’d been chosen to be relieved of duty. What to, though? His parents were gone, his friend was on a journey and there didn’t seem like anything much to keep living for. He’d given so many years, and he did need the rest, and so did Spirit.
Speaking of Spirit, he hadn’t named Voltorb yet. The dark-skinned male looked down toward the ball, which was looking up at him with an expectant gaze, and realised that it must have been thinking the same thing.
“Electra,” he murmured after a while. “I’ll call you Electra.” Voltorb tilted its body at the name, but then rolled forward and just rocked over the ground, boredom clear in its movements. Perhaps the Voltorb was looking for a battle. Mawely wasn’t sure, really, but he’d get to know the small electric type soon enough.
::Ponyta:: Is resting.
::Voltorb:: Is rolling around doing absolutely nothing.

A tiny creature with two legs and some weed sticking atop his olive shaped body was wandering about. Her eyes were strangely dreamy, not at all paying attention to where she was going. Her mind seemed to wander away, into a sort of dreamworld. Only until she spotted a flash of red and white did her eyes snap back to reality. <Ooh!>the Oddish's eyes were round with wonder as she watched the rolling form of a red and white sphere, her eyes tracking the ball's every movement. Oh, she couldn't resist. <BALL!!>the Oddish shrieked in delight, dashing forward and trying to give the Voltorb a kick, thinking she could play soccer with it.

Electra had just been rolling around when the sharp shriek of an Oddish caught its attention. Swerving away from the grass type was its instinctive option, but hopefully as it got closer it would know that it wasn’t a ball, and that it should stay the fuck away. Electra glared at the Pokémon as it charged toward its red and white body, and knew that it wasn’t going to slow down. Instead it rolled into a hole near Mawely and let out a sharp cry of ‘Voltorb’. Thankfully it had averted being kicked; and the voice of Mawely quickly called out to the Oddish in warning.
“Don’t touch that,” he said smoothly, “That’s a Voltorb. If you kick it, it’ll explode.” Hopefully the Grass Weed Pokémon would heed his advice and keep away from it. Mawely had yet to see what Voltorb was like, but he had seen so far that it didn’t like physical contact. The Pokédex entry confirmed this; they exploded upon contact and shocked anything that they didn’t want touching their bodies. In a sense, they were electrically unstable enough that even a tiny surge of adrenaline or fear could cause them to detonate themselves. It was a cheap tactic in the army; one that he had always hated, because it put innocent Pokémon in the line of fire and used them as a deterrent against other people. Any item found had to be examined from a distance until it was sure that it wasn’t some kind of explosive device. If it was, it was avoided or – if it wasn’t a Pokémon – destroyed in a controlled environment.
“Are you looking to play a game of football?” He offered the Oddish. Well, he needed to get used to being out with Pokémon. He’d been good at kicking things and skilled in football back with the other soldiers, and safe to say he would make a makeshift ball if the Oddish wanted to play something.
::Voltorb:: Rolled into a hole to avoid being kicked.
MAWELY Offered the Oddish a game of Football.

::oddish:: "Wait... explode?!?!!" And she couldn't believe that she'd just tried to give it a good kick around. She seemed panicked for a few moments, but calmed down almost immediately because the danger had passed before she even realized that she was in any trouble. With a large sigh she glanced over at where the Voltorb had run off to. "Sorry..." She muttered and bowed her head at the electric orb poke'mon apologetically. The small dark colored poke'mon looked back over at the trainer as he asked his next question. She seemed to perk back up. "Yeah. I enjoy playing soccer!" She didn't have much other choices of sports... when she didn't have any hands to use it made most other sports difficult.

OoC; Due to lack of being able to think of what the heck to put, I’m going to proceed from this scenario as if they played soccer and Mawely had to leave. BiC;
Mawely proceeded further into Route One; feeling fairly tired. However, it had stopped raining, and now the skies were cloudy, and the ground was dry. Spirit was having a much better time walking now, and her joints weren’t stiff from having to wait out that downpour. Well, whatever. Now they were ready for some training; who would be their first opponent? Mawely had gone back to put Electra in the PC and he had brought Midnight instead, but he wasn’t going to train her – she was way too powerful to train now. She’d just be their medic for a while until they got to the next City.
Mawely wasn’t riding Spirit now; he was leading her over the ground with Midnight in her Pokéball. Hopefully something would happen soon...
Is walking. LEVEL TWO.

A Teddiursa was sitting happily on a stump, sucking her paw full of honey up again. Soon a Bellsprout came out, and started to dance towards the Teddy Bear pokemon. <Uh...what are you doing?> the Teddiursa said, looking oddling at the pokemon. The Bellsprout continued to move seducively towards the pokemon with a look of lust in its eyes. <I'm a slave 4 u, babe.> he responded in a low, sexual voice. He was a womanizer of a Bellsprout, and he wanted the Teddiursa, badly. The Teddiursa started to look around, and saw a trainer coming their way. She didn't want to say anything, so she just gave a pleading look to the trainer for help. ::Teddiursa:: Wants help. Weirded out by Bellsprout.
::Bellsprout:: Dancing towards Teddiursa. Flirting.

Looking toward the Teddiursa, he observed the Bellsprout’s flirtatious behaviour and quickly pulled the Teddiursa up onto Spirit’s back, turning her body so that the Bellsprout was herded away.
“This guy giving you trouble?” Mawely asked, his now-instinctive soldier training kicking in. Spirit snorted, stomping angrily at the floor as she had learned to do in her riot training, though she hadn’t used it in a while. “Move along,” he ordered the dancing Bellsprout, He knew it probably wasn’t going to happen, and so did Spirit, because her mane blazed in warning and she took an aggressive stance, lifting a foot up into the air to kick if the Bellsprout tried anything.
MAWELY Picked up Terriursa and has her on his lap for protection.

The dancing Bellsprout saw the trainer pick up the Teddiursa and also noticed a Ponyta stand in the way of him and his next conquest. >I say you back off now or you will pay!< The Bellsprout stated to the trainer and the Pontya. >Please protect me. Get that slimy womanizer away from me!< The Teddiursa said to the trainer as the Bellsprout disgusted her. >I'll count to three... You better let go or else! 1...2...-< The Bellsprout said, readying his vines to attack if he needs to. ::Bellsprout:: Threatening you to let go of the Teddiursa or he'll attack
::Teddiursa:: Get that Bellsprout away from me!

Carefully, Mawely put the Teddiursa up onto his shoulder and got off of Ponyta; she reared up and let out a loud neigh before she charged forward toward the Bellsprout, her hooves kicking out in a Tackle attack. Well she was way too tall to lean down and use her shoulder, and her feet were stronger anyway since they carried her massive body. Behind her as she attacked was Mawely, who was stroking the Teddiursa’s head, reassuring the Bear that it would be alright.
“I’ll protect you,” he promised the Teddiursa. “I’ll be damned to Hell if I let this womanising weed get to you, my dear. Just relax now and I’ll sort this out one way or another.” Mawely wasn’t the sort of man to allow an innocent girl to be victimised, especially by a Pokémon that threatened another to get his own way. “You should know better than to threaten a Commander and his Pokemon,” he called out to the Bellsprout calmly. “We have a nasty habit of being aggressive when we need to be.”
MAWELY Has the Teddiursa on his shoulder and is stroking her head comfortingly, promising that no harm will come to her.

"Three." The Bellsprout said aloud as the Ponyta's growl reached his ears. The grass type braced himself. The tackle attack struck him harshly in his slender body, but he was not one to give in so easily! Immediately he used growth, his body seeming to get bigger and stronger. Instants later he lashed out his his thicker arms, using vine whip on the Ponyta, purposefully trying to reach up and grab the Ponyta around her neck. "You'll do as I say!"
As the battle raged, the Teddiursa squirmed uncomfortably on top of Mawely. She was so creeped out by the Bellsprout that any sort of affection or fondness right now just wasn't sitting right with her. Even his kind knightly words.

A soft chuckle rumbled through Mawely when the Bellsprout wrapped its vines around the base of Spirit’s neck, and he shook his head slightly.
“This ‘s turnin’ into a Rodeo,” he commented with amusement. He’d seen a few rodeo’s in his life, and he didn’t really agree with them; he did like show horses though. They were beautiful! “Spirit, let’s show this guy how Ponyta get their kicks.” Spirit growled and grabbed the vine in her teeth, not feeling any pain from the attack at all, and began to spin around with the Bellsprout in her mouth. It wasn’t an attack, but it should stun the Bellsprout, which would let her get another Tackle in. “Kid, if you want to get away while I hold this guy off, I can let you sneak around. You’d better get moving though.”
While Spirit attacked the Bellsprout, Mawely looked back over to the Vine with an unamused smirk. "A womaniser and a woman beater," he said gruffly, "Some husband you'd make."
MAWELY Is suggesting that the Teddiursa sneaks off now while they hold off the Bellsprout.

The Bellsprout cringed at the Growl attack, and was tossed backward as the Ponyta's tackle hit him head on. Stupid! All he wanted to do was go home with that lucky Teddiursa...She was so...Intriguing. The pokemon stood back up from the attack, staring up at the bear with pleading eyes. <Come on baby...I won't bite...> His words were womanizing and toxic, dripping with sweet sarcasm.
Then he turned on the Ponyta, obviously pissed off. <You're gonna pay for keeping me from my love!> He shrieked, sending a barrage of vines toward the male sitting on top of the Ponyta. One set of vines tried to grab into the Teddiursa, hoping to snag her in his grasp. The little bear's foot ended up twisted in the vines and she cried out for help, tugging onto Mawley's shirt as she tried to hang on. <HELP!>

Growling loudly, Spirit kicked out and returned to Mawely’s side as the Bellsprout grabbed the Teddiursa by the foot. The dark-skinned male (respectively) bared a set of bright ivory teeth and curled his fingers around the vine, pulling the Bellsprout toward him so that the pressure on Teddiursa’s body was minimised. The pull on his arm was painful though, and he bent his wrist back in an effort to stop as much of it as he could. A trickle of blood seeped down the skin where the other vines held him.
“Release her immediately.” Mawely ordered, a tone of anger rising in his voice. “Disgusting... You won’t ‘bite’ her, but you’re forcing her to go with you. Respect her wishes; she does not want to leave. She is frightened and unwilling to follow you. She has made her choice, so get the fuck out of here.”
Suddenly Spirit reared up and neighed, charging at the Bellsprout once more as Mawely leaned back, pulling on the vine to unbalance the Pokémon. His arm was wrapped around the Teddiursa protectively, refusing to let her go as she held onto his army vest.
MAWELY Hit by Vine Whip, is bleeding. Ordered the Bellsprout to get off and get lost.

<How DARE you speak to me in such a tone, you pathetic human!> The Bellsprout shouted as he was pulled toward Mawley. Humans were icky creatures; pokemon were much higher up than they were! Humans wouldn't be anywhere without pokemon! But before he could spit out any more words, the Ponya bonked him right in the head, knocking him flat out in a bush somewhere down the path. The vines retracted from Mawley's body, and the group was left alone.
The Teddiursa just sat there, confused as to what just happened. Her eyes welled with tears, and she landed small punches on Mawley's chest while crying out. <How could you speak so rudely to a pokemon! We're not just animals! We have feelings! I know he was mean but your words were too harsh!>

Finally the battle was over and Mawely’s group could continue down the path, but as soon as he let out a sigh of relief, the Teddiursa began landing soft punches on his chest, and he put the Pokémon down. Yes, his words had been harsh, but the Bellsprout hadn’t shown him any respect; in fact, it had attacked him.
“Sorry,” Mawely murmured, putting the Teddiursa down gently onto the ground. “But he shouted at me and then attacked me. He deserved no respect for his actions. Agreed that the language was harsh, but at the same time sometimes a harsh tone can end a fight one way or another.” He said, looking over to where the Bellsprout lay unconscious on the ground. Releasing Midnight out into the field, the Pokémon quickly went over to the Bellsprout and examined it, nodding that it would be alright before he recalled it with a quick smile of thanks. “I didn’t say you were animals, kid. I know that better than a lot of people, and Spirit is not an animal to me. Pokémon are my best friend; if I catch anybody calling you degrading things, I’ll be sure to give them a good telling off.”
He walked over to Ponyta, who was feeling great about her victory, and checked her throat for any signs of injury or obstruction. Thankfully she was still very healthy and feeling great, so he gave her a quick hug and smiled softly at the Teddiursa, glancing up at the sky. It was beginning to snow. From the look of the clouds, it would be heavy, too.
“You should go home before a blizzard starts. I don't want to interrupt your hibernating patterns,” he said to the Teddiursa softly. “You’re not injured from that Vine Whip, are you? I have some berries in here if you need anything.”
MAWELY Apologised for using language, has offered the Teddiursa berries if she is injured.

The Teddiursa just looked at the trainer. She was so mad at him at first, but she did not really understand his words all too well. She felt hurt at first, but his kindness was already showing so brightly. He had a slight iron fist around his Pokemon, but was it some sign of respect? Whatever it was it was affecting this little bear too. <Oh..>At the moment she felt sort of lucky. Meeting this trainer that managed to beat that Bellsprout and he didn't even fight and damage her when she was mad. And now he is offering berries and don't want to mess up her hibernation? What a guy. <It.. It is fine..> Is oddly hesitant. Maybe she wants to join? Ask or move on?

Hesitating for a moment, Mawely was about to climb onto Spirit’s back when he noticed that the Teddiursa wasn’t talking much. Spirit’s ears swivelled around slightly like radars, checking for any signs of danger that the Teddiursa could sense, but there wasn’t anything. Resting the reins against the Ponyta’s back, Mawely crouched down to the floor and tilted his head slightly. Why was the Pokémon hesitating to talk to him? Was there something else she wanted, or was she just a bit unsure of where to go? Did she even have somewhere to hibernate?
The thought crossed his mind, and if the Bear wasn’t going to go after being so angry at him, what could possibly be the matter? If she didn’t have anywhere to go, Mawely wouldn’t forgive himself if he let her walk around to freeze and possibly starve. He wasn’t like that.
“Do you want to come with me and Spirit?” Asked Mawely with a tone of curiosity, while Spirit leaned her head down and sniffed the Teddiursa’s scent. “If you want a place to stay, I can give you that, but only if you want to come with this... Old dog and his beautiful mare-” He chuckled when Spirit rammed her head into his shoulder playfully, almost scolding him for calling himself an old dog. Well, he was 42 years old. “I’ll look after you if you want me to, but don’t feel like you’re obliged to do anything because I helped you, okay? Say what’s here,” he pressed his finger gently to her chest, indicating that she should follow her heart.
Reaching for his belt, he placed a Pokéball on the ground in front of it, giving it the choice to go inside or to leave. Sure he’d love to have her on his team, and he knew Yakko would love to have her around!
MAWELY Is telling Teddiursa to follow her heart, and invited her to join if she wishes. Has placed a Pokeball on the ground.

Wild Teddiursa The Teddiursa watched as the Ponyta playfully head-butted her head into the trainer's shoulder. They seemed to have a tight bond with one another and seemed to trust each other a lot. She wondered if she could have a bond like that. As she studied the humans face she could tell he meant no harm and was being truthful. The Teddiursa watched as he placed a Pokeball down in front of her. She sucked on her finger as she decided. He was nice and he seemed to take care of his Pokémon well. She poked the Pokeball with her finger and it rocked back and forth, thankfully it didn't capture her yet. She was still uncertain. Looking up at the human's face she placed her finger down and made her decision. She poked the Pokeball once more and this time it sucked her inside. The Teddiursa chose not to fight it as it rocked three times back and forth and captured the small bear Pokémon. female lv 5 abilities: quick feet & pickup moves: Covet, Fake Tears, Leer, Lick and Scratch

Whinnying quietly, Spirit nudged Mawely once more before the Teddiursa finally decided to join them, and as soon as the Pokéball stopped moving, she reared up and kicked her legs out with a happy cry. Stroking her mane gently, Mawely picked up the Pokéball and attached it to his belt, and decided to leave the Teddiursa in there to get used to being inside a Pokéball. Plus it was snowing – it would want to hibernate in private.
Climbing back onto Spirit’s back, they carried on down Route One, and must have been travelling for at least an hour before snow covered the ground, making Mawely cold. Silently he leaned forward, pressing his body against Spirit, allowing the fire produced by her body to warm him. That was one benefit of having a Ponyta – they could keep you warm, and their internal body heat prevented them from getting too cold, while they didn’t exactly like it.
Spirit snorted, probably thinking ‘what am I gonna do with him?’ but kept walking slowly until she paused, needing to rest for a while. Slowly Mawely looked around, feeling slightly drowsy, and glanced up toward the sky. Thankfully it had stopped snowing and the skies were clear.

<BEHOLD!!!>shouted a loud voice. If Mawely nad his Ponyta looked up, they'd see a sort of red and white panda-like Pokemon standing on a tree branch, arms spread out and shouting to the air.
<I, the amazing Spinda, will now take a leap of faith! Witness the first Spinda to fly!!!>the Spinda declared out loud. <Drumroll please...>he continued in a hush tone, though no one seemed to oblige to his wishes. However, he merely ignored the absent drumroll and closed his eyes, taking a few deep breaths.
Then, his feet pushed off the branch and he lept off. <I BELIEVE I CAN FLY!~~>he sang aloud jubilantly. Contrary, he was plummeting. ::Spinda:: Jumped off tree
