Nathara smiled at the gastly's idea.
"That sounds great! Let's get everyone out here..."
She dug around in her bag and released each pokemon in turn, excluding Orbit and Tego. They were injured from their previous battles, and deserved a break.
Razel, Vexant, Irene, Fabrioc, Comis, and Anima appeared on the dark sidewalk, the sparks causing nothing more than some discomfort as they exited their pokeballs.
"Alright everyone, my friend Gastly here wants to play a game of hide and seek. I want you to split into pairs. Razel, Comis, you two will be going together. Fabrioc, Irene, you'll be a pair. Vexant and Anima will be searching together, as well."
There was a murmured agreement, and no-one seemed overly dismayed by their assigned partner.

- <Wow, you sure do have a lot of Pokemon. I can't see why we didn't battle.> He exclaimed, looking over at them with curious, but impressed eyes. They did look on the weak side, save for the Voltorb, but even he looked somewhat tired. He sure hoped that they were ready to play with him!
- <Alright, now I need all of you to close your eyes. Count to 5, and by the time you're done, you can try and find me. If you can.> He snickered, quickly looking around the place for a good hiding spot. He had to turn invisible first, and he could only do that by spreading his gaseous body out to appear like he was invisible.
- Once that was done, he slowly slithered away into Nathara's pocket, giggling to himself at his super good hiding spot. He wasn't sure if Nathara was going to try and find him either, but he hoped she would be a good sport and let the Pokemon to the work in case she felt her pocket moving.

The assembled pokemon nodded their consent when the gastly finished talking, and all closed their eyes. Even Vexant obeyed, deciding that there wasn't any reason not to play along with this silly game.
Nathara also closed her eyes, but the sudden sensation of her pocket wiggling gave away the city pokemon's position. It was hard to stifle the laughter that threatened to escape her throat at the unique hiding spot, but she held it in. What a clever place to hide! None of her pokemon would think to check there.
Anima might be able to feel him out with her powers, though.
That was true. Anima's telepathic powers might allow her to sense the gastly's position instantly. All she could do was hope that the ralts wouldn't give away the game too quickly.
Razel was the first to open his eyes, having counted faster than the others. He waited until Comis' own eyes blinked open before setting off to search the ally that had so recently been the scene of a battle. The seedot followed hastily, his tiny legs making it difficult to keep up.
Fabrioc peered calmly out of his crown of tentacles, slowly scanning his surroundings. Irene glanced into some nearby boxes, waiting for her strange partner to finish his initial sweep.
Vexant looked over at Anima as the other pokemon slowly dispersed, waiting for her to make the first move. Anima closed her eyes and focused on stretching out her telepathic awareness. There was a consciousness radiating from Nathara's...pants? That was rather strange. Either Nathara's clothes were sentient, or the gastly was hiding in the pocket. Admittedly, the latter was more likely.
<Vexant, do you see anything odd about Nathara's pants?>
Vexant shuddered as his partner's voice rang inside of his head, then looked over to Nathara. There wasn't anything unusual, besides the fact that she had a strange smile on her face.
<Nope.>
<Oh, well...alright.>
Yes, the gastly was probably hiding in her trainer's pocket. However, ending the game now seemed a little unfair, considering that she had an advantage. She'd let the other pokemon have a go first.
<Lets search by those trashcans over there.>
Vexant nodded, and they walked over to join Razel and Comis as they searched the street. Fabrioc released his suction cups' grip on the ground, and slowly made his way over to the destroyed home. Irene followed, a little hesitantly.

Grimer Appears! Uses Shadow Punch on Irene! (It does not hurt her)This Grimer has an Uncommon Egg Move. How lucky! Gastly Hiding
The Gastly was struggling to suppress his giggles when he heard a bit of the conversation going on out there. Something wrong with Nathara's pant? Oh my, now that wasn't something you went around talking about openly. His face looked as if it was dying from holding in his laughter, except he was already dead. He wiggled about in her pocket, giving some more indication of his hiding location.
As the wandering Pokemon searched more to the left in some of the trashcans, one of them began to rumble at the sound of Pokemon approaching. At first it would've seemed like it was Gastly, perhaps, but who would want to give away their position so easily? The tin trash can fell with a loud 'clang', the top rolling off of it as an annoyed Grimer emerged from its depths. The first thing that anyone would've noticed was the awful Stench radiating from her body. Peee-yew.
<You disturbed my slumber, you rat.> Her eyes were focused on the Sentret, and without much of a warning her hand began to glow with a ghostly power. Not something most Grimer knew, but it was something she learned from her pops. A Haunter, to be exact. She frowned as she struck at the normal type with a Shadow Punch, hoping to frighten them off.

Irene gave a terrified squeak when the can she had been searching started to rumble. Slowly, a disgusting mass of goo emerged from inside the tin container, it's body reeking of trash and rotting things. Then it spoke in a feminine voice, accusing her of disturbing her sleep. Some of the closer pokemon moved towards her protectively, but they were smart enough not to block the Shadow Punch that was thrown. It would have no affect on the normal type rodent.
As the strange move passed through her, Irene's trembling increased. It hadn't hurt her, of course, but it was still scary that this pokemon had attacked her. By this time, all of the team had assembled in a protective circle around her. All of the pokemon who new the move Growl were using it now, and Anima was preparing a Confusion attack, just in case.
Nathara stepped over to the conflict from her spot on the sidewalk, game of hide and seek momentarily forgotten.
"Look, we're sorry about disturbing you. If you'd please calm down, we might be able to find a way to make it up to you."
This grimer seemed strong, so a fight might not be the wisest thing to do. On the other hand, a couple of her pokemon were probably strong enough to take the poison type on. It would be too risky to let Anima fight, she had a weakness for ghost type moves. Vexant, Irene, and Comis were too low-leveled. That left Razel and Fabrioc.
Hang on, Razel has a naturally high defense against ghost moves. I'll use him if things get out of hand.

Grimer Uses Poison Gas It spreads out and is now able to effect anyone because of no specific target. 30% chance of Poison.Gastly Reveals Self. Annoyed.
<Reason? Peh. Look at all of you, cowering around her.> She huffed, annoyed that they were all going against her like this. Well, maybe she could stop her anger-induced assault and try and reason with them, but she wasn't that kind of a Pokemon. She felt threatened enough seeing so many angry faces at once, and it was not doing her any good.
Inhaling as much air as she could, her body slowly began to expand with air, definitely giving out a threatening appearance. As if that wasn't a warning enough, she spewed out a faint mist, which had a tint of purple within it. Breathing it in seemed ok, for at least a little while. But it reeked. And the long term effects wouldn't be good.
<Next time I'll hit one of you.> She warned, raising her arms up in the air to make herself appear bigger. It was yet another trick her daddy taught her. He really was the coolest.
<Bah. What is this. What's going on?> The Gastly poured himself out of Nathara's pocket, watching the scene with a hint of confusion, but definitely giving out an annoyed vibe. Their game was ruined now, thanks to this pest.

All but Razel and Fabrioc flinched instinctively as the grimer inflated herself, increasing her size and becoming even more intimidating. Just then, a purple mist started to spout from her mouth, surrounding them in a thin haze.
Comis and Fabrioc, being more experienced fighters that the rest, instantly recognized the danger posed by the cloud, and moved to push Irene out of harm's way. It would be too risky for her to be poisoned at a time like this.
Razel's fur bristled at the second attack, and he took a step forward.
<I suggest that you don't try that again.>
As a quick warning blow, he brought his claws up in a light Scratch. It wasn't as powerful as it usually was, but hopefully enough to prove that he was willing to fight.
Nathara tensed as this action unfolded before her, then turned to the gastly, who had left his hiding place at the disturbance. None of her pokemon had noticed, so focused were they on the grimer.
"I'm sorry, but apparently that grimer was sleeping in one of those trashcans. Irene accidentally awoke her, and she got really worked up."

Grimer (Defense +1) Shadow Punch on Razel Gastly Sticks Near Nathara
<Hey...you think that hurt?> The Grimer smirked, pleased that she had created a bit of a stir in all of these Pokemon. So many of them were around her, all making sure she didn't win. If that was the case, then she would have to take them all out! Starting with the strong looking one!
<I can take you all on at once, I'm not scared! I never am!> She scowled, raising a shadowy fist at Razel to show that she was not joking around. If they thought this was child's play, then they were mistaken. But then again, it did look like a bit of a bonanza for her opponents, especially because of their trainer. They all probably needed to 'train'. She was far from having a debonair aura, especially with that stench, but at least she was smart enough to boost her defenses first.
Her body began to shimmer with the effects of a Harden, boosting her physical defenses further. She had no idea that it was because of the heuristic game of the Gastly that caused this in the first place, but fighting the surrounding Pokemon seemed to be the only mithridate to the situation. With an evil looking fist that couldn't be hallowed, she shot her Shadow Punch at the Sneasel.

Razel jumped back in an attempt to dodge the punch, but for some strange reason he couldn't escape the damage. It was as if the shadowy power of the move was attracted to him. The blow was only half as affective due to his defense, and he still felt ready for battle.
Vexant, Fabrioc, Comis, and Anima glanced at each-other, silently questioning if they shold join the fight. The grimer had challenged all of them, after all.
Nathara chewed her lip nervously, and took out three pokeballs. Before any of them could jump into action, she called Irene, Comis, and Vexant back into the safety of their capsules. It was best to minimize the number of pokemon in danger, as this battle was heating up fast. Desprate to regain some control of the situation, Nathara then proceeded to call out some orders.
"Fabrioc, I want you to use Ingrain. Anima, Double Team please. Don't enter the battle quite yet."
She wanted to make sure that they were as safe as possible. Right now, this was Razel's fight, and she didn't want the other two interfering unless things got ugly.
They followed her commands instantly, grateful for something to do. Fabrioc rooted himself to the ground with his powerful suction cups, falling into a strong defensive position. Anima started to move rapidly between two peices of discarded trash, using them as her focus points for the move. Once she had attained the necessary speed, several copies of herself appeared along that line. While this was happening, Razel launched himself into a point-blank Quick Attack.

Grimer (Defense +1) Mud Slap on Razel Gastly Sticks Near Nathara
<Fast! Oof!> The Grimer scoffed as the Quick Attack lodged Razel into her gloopy body, nearly bouncing away the physical attack. She resisted as much as she could to avoid being pushed to the side, but this Sneasel clearly had some power in his moves. Grunting in annoyance as her eyes glanced around at the other two Pokemon, she started to wonder how she could take them all out. They seemed to be bulking up, preparing to get rid of her.
First though, she wanted to take advantage of the bonanza of mud that was near by. With a smirk her hand splashed at it super quickly, trying to sweep some of it into the attacking Sneasel's eyes. If his accuracy was lowered, it just might be heuristic enough to prove to the rest that she meant business.
<Think you can hurt me so easily? Think again, mud brat.> She hissed, glaring at the Sneasel with hopes high on striking him with that mud. She figured that another Poison Gas would've been a good idea, but she needed time to recharge after her first move.

Razel's nose wrinkled in disgust as some of the grimer's gloppy body stuck to his fur. It would take forever to get rid of this terrible stench! The others wouldn't be able to come near him for days! He usually didn't care much about getting dirty, but the sticky substance covering his fur right now stunk worse than anything he had ever experienced. His anger deepened when his opponent proceeded to slap mud at his eyes.
He wiped some of the filth off, his face stinging from the impact. At least his ability made sure that his accuracy wasn't reduced at all. Oh, how he looked forward to a good bath later.
Nathara forced down the bizarre urge to laugh at what was happening before her. Poor Razel looked rather close to becoming a grimer himself, with how much mud and sludge was now covering his fur. Anima was giggling quietly at the sight, while Fabrioc watched the battle passively.
Once she had gotten over her initial amusement, Nathara considered the battle with more seriousness. She didn't know if the Pokemon Centers were still operating in the middle of this blackout, but if they weren't, she couldn't let her pokemon become too injured. Tego and Orbit were already out of commission, and the three pokemon before her were the only ones strong enough to battle these city strays. Perhaps it was better to finish this battle as quickly as possible.
"Fabrioc, use Astonish please. Anima, Confusion. Razel, get out of the way of their attacks, then follow up with Scratch."
Anima, who had already been preparing an attack, instantly released the wave of psychic energy. Fabrioc wasn't far behind, whipping his head at the grimer while giving an ear-splitting shout. Razel jumped out of the way just in time, then landed behind the puddle of goo with his claws outstretched for a Scratch attack.
::sneasel:: lv 12.5 Hit by Mud Slap. Uses Scratch.

The Grimer's body was dented as the Scratch came, it seemed as if the attack really had no affect, since the Sneasel's claw sunk right in. Although a different story with the other attacks. The one scared the crap out of the Grimer, which wasn't good considering the thing was made out of gunk. The other one had a lot of affect on her. She was pushed back into the wall and groaned. This wasn't fair! It was three against one, that is never fair! The Grimer held up her hand, glowing a dark purple she then punched the air, causing a shadow like copy of her hand to go for the Ralts. The Shadow Punch went flying towards it.
The Gastly frowned. That stupid Grimer spoilded the game. All he wanted was a little fun, after all, all of his friends were gone.
::Grimer:: Is really, really weakened. Used Shadow Punch on Ralts.

Anima felt a tremble of sudden fear course through her as the ghostly fist flew towards her with deadly accuracy. The dark energy ripped through her small form, and she gave a soft screech of pain before blacking out.
Razel was stopped dead in his tracks at the pained sound, and watched in utter surprise as the little ralts they had befriended in the forest fell unconscious. Was the grimer's move really that powerful? Even with the type advantage, Anima was a strong pokemon. Was one well-placed move from this puddle of slime enough to down one of Nathara's strongest? He was stupefied by the thought.
Fabrioc frowned down at the psychic's limp form, then back up at the grimer. Apparently they had underestimated their opponent.
Nathara was almost as surprised as Razel at the one hit KO. Yes, she knew that psychic pokemon were weak against ghost moves, but she hadn't been prepared for this. It frightened her to know that her companions could be taken down that easily. With slightly trembling hands, she called Anima back into her pokeball.
"Fabrioc, use Astonish again. Razel, I want you to get back."
It seemed that Razel's attacks had little effect on the grimer, so it was best if he stepped back.
Obediently, the sneasel jumped a few feet away from the battle, but he wasn't pleased in the least. He wanted to avenge Anima! It wasn't the same, leaving Fabrioc to finish off the grimer. He wanted to be the one to finish this!
::sneasel:: lv 12.5 Jumps away from the fight.

The Astonish's red lights made Grimer blink as they washed over her, seemingly having no effect. Then a pinprick of pain started in her abdomen and travelled down her gloopy body, accompanied by a growing sense of fear. The thing about Ghost Moves like this was that they truly affected their target if they were afraid. And afraid Grimer was. Hallucinations, the faces of Fearow and Venusaur appeared. Charizard dived down at her, wanting to eat her. Her breath was growing heavier; the pain of someone who had lost. Melting into a flat purple puddle of gunk, Grimer closed her eyes and gave in to the fearless company of unconsciousness. Nothing could hurt her there. ::grimer:: Grimer has fainted. Fabrioc, Anima and Razel each gain .5 of a level.

Nathara relaxed when the grimer melted (quite literally) into unconsciousness. After checking to make sure the city pokemon wasn't going to be stirring for at least several minutes, she knelt down beside her two partners. Fabrioc was completely unharmed by the experience, and was gazing up at her calmly. Razel was trying to shake off some of the filth that had accumulated on his coat, but it was in vain. The goop was simply too sticky to be removed without water.
"Are you two alright?"
Fabrioc nodded, as did Razel, but she could tell that the sneasel was hurting.
"Alright, I think you should both return to your pokeballs for a while."
She called them both into their sparking orbs, then stood to face the irritated gastly.
"Look, I'm really sorry about this, but I don't think my team is in any shape to continue the game. Once the power comes back on, and the sun gets a little lower in the sky, we could try again."
It was the best suggestion she could come up with. Her pokemon needed to be healed, and the gastly preferred the dark. Waiting until both needs could be satisfied was the only option.
Leaving the ghost to think it over, she returned her mind once-more to the other problem at hand. Was catching the grimer a good idea? She had a very strong, and seemingly 100% accurate move. She would be a powerful addition to the team. However, the simple fact of her smell was enough to give pause.
Well, what was a little stink when there was so much to be gained? With her mind made up, she took out an empty pokeball and tossed it at the prone puddle.

Grimer Hit by Pokeball Gastly Leaves.
<That...is fine. Maybe I'll see you again.> The Gastly bowed to Nathara, accepting that all because of this foolish Grimer, everything was ruined. It was a shame that he wouldn't be able to play his game with such fun people, but he could tell that they had their injuries that needed to be attended to. With one final sigh, he vanished into thin air, apparently gone for good.
As the Pokeball struck the Grimer's body, it actually got lodged into that mass of disgusting slob and muck. It took several seconds before it even registered the wild Pokemon below it, and slowly opened up, accepting the weakened body it was stuck in. The sphere, although a bit gooey now, shook rapidly for several moments before signaling her capture with a small ring.
::grimer:: Grimer Level: 10 Abilities: { Stentch + Sticky Hold } Attacks: Shadow Punch, Poison Gas, Harden, Pound, Mud Slap Personality: Quick Tempered. A bit of a potty mouth. Hasty.

Nathara watched as the gastly vanished into thin air, feeling a little guilty. She had wasted a good portion of the ghost's time to pull pranks, with neither of them accomplishing anything besides a nice conversation.
With a quiet sigh, she gently picked up the mucky pokeball from the ground and wiped it clean on her pant leg. At least she had one more possible addition to the team. It was magically transported into her PC, and she looked around for a place to get lunch. After all, it was noon time, and she was hungry. Would any places still be open during the blackout, though? She supposed that there was only one way to find out.
After several minutes of searching, she found a street side sandwich stand that was still open. She ordered a veggie burger which was quickly consumed, then continued down the street, her stomach contentedly full.
'This blackout shouldn't last much longer.'
It better not take too long to fix the problem, because she only had one healthy pokemon left. Even if he was the strongest on her team, Fabrioc had to have a limit.

A trainer was walking down the street next to Nathara. To be more accurate, he was riding a ball down the street. He hopped next to Nathara from his ball, landing perfectly despite his girth. He held out a potion, decorated in polkadots. "My name is Dear Ol Phelp. I love to be of great help. This potion here. Is quite held dear. Won't you take it without yelp?" He was a very...odd one, the potion had a 100 PD price tag on it, however; cheaper than the store-bought brands. Nothing shady about this at all... Buy? Y/N?

Nathara was stopped in her progress down the street by a bizarre man riding a ball. Was he part of some local circus, or did he dress like that simply to get attention? Either way, he seemed very misplaced in the dark city.
The short poem was a little much, but at least it made clear what he wanted. Upon closer examination of the item for sale, she found that, if her memory served, it was being sold for less that the store price! It was certainly a good deal.
Especially when I don't know how long this blackout will last. I might need a good stock of potions.
Of course, it did cross her mind that this entire situation was a little shady, but her need for the potion outweighed her doubts.
"Thank you, sir. I think I'll buy it from you."
While she said this, she pulled out the requested amount of money from her bag and held it out to the man.

"Ah, yes good good." Phelp said handing the Potion to her. He then rode off on his weird bike.
As you look closer the Potion is normal, just painted with poke-dots. Why would anyone paint over this? Odd person indeed.
Behind you the trash cans start rattling. bang you hear. A Rattata is trying to get out of the trash can, it looks like it's having some troubles. Mumbling to himself the Rattata hissed. <Why do they have to make these things so tall?> He complained to himself. He shruggled to get out but seemed to be suck in the middle.
