Now that the strange seller was gone, she examined the bottle carefully for any sign that it was less or more than a normal potion. To her relief, the painted polkadots were the only thing that separated it from the ones she already had. Content with the knowledge that she had one more potion to add to her collection, she stowed it away.
Before she could continue walking, however, a rattling noise emerging from one of the trashcans drew her closer. Inside, a rattata was trying desperately to escape, and muttering to himself.
"Oh, do you need some help? Here."
She was a little hesitant to reach inside and lift the rodent out. Her parents had always taught her not to touch a distressed pokemon without their permission, in case they decided to attack, and rattatas were notorious for the amount of germs in their saliva. Then again, this pokemon didn't seem too distressed, just irritated. Gently, she lowered her hand into the can to pull him out.

What was this? A human?! Rattata tried scrambling back into the trash can, but he could only go back so far, and when his rear touched the cold metal of the end of the can, he jumped, banging his little purple head on the top of the bin with an almighty clang that sent Pidgey scattering from the nearby area. He scrunched his eyes tightly shut as he opened his mouth, revealing his huge fangs in a childish expression of pain to stop himself from bursting into tears. Moment of childishness done, he clambered onto the Trainer's arm, careful not to dig his claws in, and manoeuvred his way out of the trash can by using her as an anchor of sort. Breathing in that fresh city air once again, he enjoyed the industrial stench of smoke and metal as he looked up at the Trainer who had so kindly saved him. "Th-thank you,< he said bashfully, blushing a little. ::rattata::

Nathara gave the rattata a warm smile, and pulled her arm out of the trashcan. He didn't seem injured, besides the bruise he was going to have from hitting his head on the metal inside of the can.
"It was no problem at all. I couldn't leave you stuck in there, could I?"
The rodent's bashful look was absolutely adorable to see, and she had to repress a girlish giggle.
"You're not hurt, are you? I can't see anything, but that doesn't mean you don't have any bruises or small cuts."
He was probably fine, but there was no harm in asking. It would be terrible if he really was injured, and she hadn't asked. Besides, she needed a way to spend her time until the power came back on, and a conversation with this cute little rattata seemed like the perfect thing.

The rattata jumped off of her arm onto the hard pavement, he certainly preferred the ground over the disgusting and dank trash can! This trainer was certainly a nice one, he had a certain debonair about him that made him very tantalizing and attractive. The young rattata was entranced by him, most trainers that came by were mean or kicked him down.
He didn't really know how to thank the trainer, so he just shook his head. He had a bonanza of food that his brothers had found amassed in a pile behind their house. Oh, he could bring the trainer there! He tugged on the trainer's clothes, before running off down the alleyway to his house.
::Rattata:: Rattata is running somewhere, follow? Y/N?

Nathara didn't know exactly where the rattata intended to lead her, but there was no reason not to trust the pokemon. He had a very cute and childish demeanor, which made it very difficult not to trust him. Wherever he was leading her, it couldn't be dangerous.
Perhaps a friend or family member needed some help. Or did he, for some reason, wanted to reward her simple favor? That would be highly ridiculous. Anyone would have stopped to help! It would be downright cruel not to!
Nathara followed the rat at a jog, surprised by the small pokemon's speed. She'd always admired fast and agile pokemon, especially the ones that didn't seem that way by their appearance. Defense and health didn't matter if you could avoid taking damage.
She had let her mind wander again. It was such a terrible habit! She really needed to work on her attention. What if something bad happened in the future because she let her focus slip?
With a shake of her head, she returned her thoughts to the mysterious place that the rattata was leading her.

The rattata stopped at a hole in the dark alleyway. He peeked his head inside; everybody was gone! His humble abode in the wall of the alley was empty! "<Hallow? Anybody home?>" He scurried and called for his family inside and couldn't find anyone there! He scampered back outside and couldn't find them either. He wondered...maybe they were out looking for food? The food pile was still inside though...so he brought one of the clean sitrus berries out and gave it to the trainer. "<Thank you!>" The young rattata said; he faintly flushed his cheeks. He then decided to go look for his parents regardless if the nice trainer followed or not. ::Rattata:: Mood: Bashful, yet Curious Rattata gave you a sitrus berry! Rattata is going to look for his family; follow?

Nathara knelt down beside the rat and took the proffered berry. It was her turn to blush. There was no need to reward her! It was nothing, really! She was just about to say so to her young guide when he ran off again, looking a little concerned.
It only took a few seconds for her to connect the details. Empty home, food pile still well-stocked, the rattata's confused look, it looked like someone was missing. She had run into so many lost families over the course of these two days that it didn't surprise her anymore. She had met both Irene and Anima in the middle of such problems.
Hopefully they would be just as fortunate now as they were with Irene. Hopefully whoever the rattata was looking for was safe. Getting back to her feet, she ran after the rodent.
"Are you looking for your parents? I'm certain they can't be far away."

Rattata smiled, pleased for the help of Nathara and her Pokémon in finding his family. This city was so big that he couldn't find them alone anytime soon. A squeal alerted him to the presence of his family. >That's my little sister!< cried Rattata, bounding off before Nathara could have any chance to respond. Not too far away were three Rattata, one smaller than the other two, her mouth open in fear as her eyes were scrunched shut, shrinking away from the large green figure in terror. Rattata cried out in fear and rushed towards his family, but a growl from the Munchlaz stopped him dead in his tracks. Gazing with wide, fearful eyes at Nathara, his gaze silently pleaded for help against this permanently hungry fiend. x4 Interfere?

Nathara followed the alarmed rattata to the group of pokemon. There were three rattata, one of them looking younger than the other two, and a munchlax. It didn't take a genius to figure out what was about to happen.
"Don't worry, I've got this."
As she said this, she pulled out Fabrioc's pokeball. Enlarging the sparking capsule, she sent the lileep back onto the street. He looked around calmly, assessing the scene before him. A munchlax...he seemed to be the opponent. He had a type advantage over most of it's moves, so the battle shouldn't be too difficult.
"Fabrioc, use Acid on the munchlax!"
The fossil pokemon nodded, then gathered up some of the vicious liquid naturally produced by his body. With a sharp exhale, he sent a large spray of the fluid towards the glutton.

Munchlax was not prepared, he was just going to ask to borrow some food from the nice; sweet rattata. From out of nowhere, a crazy lady with her lileep came and attacked him! He wouldn't stand for this! The acid hurt, and pain was bad. He decided to wobbled to face the stupid lileep and wave his arms. He used Metronome, swaying them back and forth. He finally stopped, energy gathering around him. A sudden rush of unfamiliar energy sped towards Lileep, a Hidden Power Ice would surely be super effective. He decided to launch one more Metronome, this time sway his arms in reverse order. He then stopped again, waiting for an effect to take place. A ghostly entity attacked Lileep, the Spite would make his usage of Acid be reduced.
The rattata family had all ran home except for the lone, male rattata. He stayed behind to make sure the nice trainer was okay. He was waiting in the wings just in case.
::Munchlax:: Mood: So confused Munchlax used Hidden Power Ice and Spite!

Fabrioc shuddered as the super effective move landed with dangerous accuracy. The ice type move caused double the damage, but his pained wince was hidden from all eyes. The fact that his face was always hidden from view allowed him to seem completely emotionless.
The second attack left his acid stores feeling dangerously low. He wouldn't be able to use that move many more times.
Nathara tensed at the damaging move. It was obvious that Fabrioc was hurting from that hit. Perhaps she would be using that potion earlier than expected...
"Alright, use Ingrain and then Grass Knot."
The lileep grasped the ground firmly with his suction cups, feeling the warmth and security of the earth. It would allow him to heal a little between turns. With his body firmly anchored in place, he proceeded to stretch a knotted rope made of grass directly in-front of his opponent. The heavier pokemon would be severely effected by the move, if it worked. Munchlax were, after all, much heavier than they looked.

The munchlax was tripped by the grass knot, and he felt that one when he hit the ground! He got up quickly though; he was very durable. He decided since, hey, metronome was a good a tactic as any. He launched two more metronomes at the Lileep. This time, however; he found his fur was stronger; it was harden. The second one, however, made him find himself in the lileep's face extremely fast. He pushed his face forward, drill peck; quite a powerful move for such a low leveled battle.
::Munchlax:: Mood: Unpredictable Munchlax uses Harden and Drill Peck!

Drill Peck was really a terrifying move. It had the potential of knocking Fabrioc out if he wasn't careful. Such a strong move wasn't meant to be used in a low-level battle, but the pure unpredictability of Metronome gave the munchlax an advantage. Thankfully, he was, quite possibly, the slowest pokemon in existence. Using this to his advantage, Fabrioc bent backwards and let the normal type fly over him, completely missing his target.
Nathara gave a relieved sigh. It would have been disastrous if Fabrioc had fainted! She would have been left with no battle-ready pokemon!
Just as this thought crossed her mind, every light on the street fluttered back to life, the blackout apparently over. She had to stop herself from yelling out in joy. Finally!
"Good job, Fabrioc! Use Grass Knot one more time."
It wasn't a good idea to use that move more than two or three times in a row, considering that it wasn't the easiest move to use. After this, if the muchlax was still fighting, they would try Acid again.
Fabrioc prepared another rope of twisted grass, then tried to trip his opponent again.

Poor Munchlax, a battle had been spawned because he just wanted some food. The grass knot made him trip and fall flat on his face again, and it made him very sad. It wasn't even funny; he got up and frowned at the Lileep. <"I...just wanted some food."> He said somewhat dumbly before waving his fingers for Metronome twice. This time, a jet of flame shot out at Lileep; Flamethrower was certainly a powerful move; too. Munchlax also sniffed out the lileep, Odor Sleuth made sure it wouldn't be evading easily any time soon. Mood: Somber Munchlax used Flamethrower and Odor Sleuth you poor, sad person!

Fabrioc had only enough time to hear the munchlax's pitiful comment and to consider that perhaps they had judged too quickly, before being engulfed by the flames. It was too powerful a move to withstand, and he fainted almost instantly.
Nathara also heard the munchlax's remark, but had no time to stop the battle before Fabrioc had been thoroughly defeated.
"Wait!"
She stepped forward to crouch between the prone lileep and somber city pokemon.
"We thought you were going to eat those rattata! I'm so sorry we attacked you, we didn't know."
That sitrus berry in her bag suddenly seemed much more useful. She took it out and held it towards the hungry munchlax.
"Here."

Munchlax looked horrified at the implication, his emotion suddenly shifting from selfish anger to guilt for attacking the Lileep. Eat those cute little purple rats? Not in a million years! Not only was it disgusting, but the fur would stick in his throat as well as in his stomach and make him feel sick. >No... I was just looking for food from these guys,< he said softly, hanging his hea in shame and sorrow. He was sued to this experience. These misunderstandings had happened so often that it would take an idiot not to realize what he problem was. And this Munchlax was no imbecile... in comparison to other Munchlax. As the others ran back to their burrow, the Rattata Nathara had saved blushed again, feeling embarassed for blowing the situation out of proportion. >I-I'm sorry,< he stammered apologetically. How humiliating this day had been... ::munchlax:: ::rattata:: Fabrioc gains half a level. [/I]

Nathara smiled in an attempt to comfort the sorrowful munchlax. No harm had been done. Fabrioc was a strong pokemon, he would recover. The power was back on, so her entire team could finally be healed. Everything was fine! There was no reason for the munclax to feel so guilty.
While the poor city pokemon wallowed in his own shame, she turned for a moment to the young rattata.
"It's alright. Your family appeared to be in danger, of course you overreacted! I would have done the same thing."
Then she took out Fabrioc's pokeball again and called the unconscious fossil back into it's safe interior. With everything else sorted out, she returned her attention to the munchlax they had so rudely attacked.
"Is there any way we could make this up to you? I have this sitrus berry here..."
She was still holding the fruit, although the normal type had made no move to take it so far.

Munchlax only now caught sight of the Sitrus Berry, and his mouth filled with saliva at the the thought of devouring that delicious sour flesh. It would fill his stomach... temporarily, at least. Grabbing it, he shoved it into his gaping maw and chewed happily, the mix of sweet, sour, bitter and dry making him smile in pleasure as he chewed and swallowed the thick husked berry. This complex situation had turned into a goldmine. Closing his eyes happily, he felt himself fall back, hitting the hard ground- not that it hurt to a resilient Pokemon like Munchlax- and promptly fell asleep, curling his legs and arms into his stomach for warmth a gentle snoring sounding from his throat. >Weird...< squeaked Rattata softly. >Well, thanks for the help, miss! I gotta go home now!< Rattata nuzzled Nathara's cheek with his own affectionately, and then scampered off. He had a feeling he and his family would be lifelong friends when it came to Nathara and her Pokemon. ::rattata:: Rattata is leaving. Interfere?
::munchlax:: Munchlax ate your Sitrus Berry and has fallen asleep. Capture?

Nathara watched contentedly as the rattata skittered back to his family, then turned her gaze to the sleeping munchlax. He looked rather cute when he was sleeping.
You could capture him now, you know.
Yes...but would she really use this guy? Metronome was it's only strong offensive move, and the unpredictability of it would leave her cautious as to it's use. Besides, catching him while he was sleeping was just wrong.
With a fond smile, she stood up straight and headed back to the Pokemon Center. She had been careful to keep the building close during their walk, in case she needed to return to it in a hurry. Right now she was very grateful for that precaution. Entering the heated building, she had her entire team healed. While she waited for her pokemon to be returned, she decided to switch up the active team. It would be difficult to place some of her friends in storage, but there were other, stronger pokemon that would be useful.
After a good ten minutes of careful picking and choosing, she took her new and freshly-healed team back onto the streets. They had a good few hours before dark began to fall, and Nathara wanted to make the most of them.

[V]"Baaaaaaa!"[/B] A blue faced sheep was trotting around Île Électrique with reckless abandon, knocking over stalls, crashing into smaller Pokemon such as Pichu, Plusle, Minun and Rattata, and generally being a nuisance. Several local security guards were chasing after this rogue sheep, but it was simply much too fast, letting out baas of fury and vicious glee as he leapt about the place. Eventually, after passing the Pokemon Center, he came across Nathara. He was covered in dust, metal scraps and wood shavings. >Get out of the waaaaaay!< he bleated commandingly. ::mareep::
