"Well I must admit, it's lovely to be here again after such a long time away" Kalina remarked happily, strolling along the first route for the second time in her life, her Shellder happily clamped around her arm. "Listen Shellder, you really need to stop doing that" she commented, lifting the Pokemon up, who just stared at her with puppy-dog eyes. "Oh don't give me that look again. I know you like my arm, but it's just too painful on me. Tell you what, when we get a strong enough partner, you can clamp onto their arm, okay?"

The sound of footsteps alerted him, causing the Spearow to snap his head up. His head swung around slowly, glaring eyes watching his surroundings. <Intruder!>the bird accused, spying the Trainer walking under his tree with a Pokemon close to her arm. The Spearow hopped to the nearest branch, head tilted down as he observed the human with loathing. <No one comes along my territory,>the Spearow thought menacingly, an evil glint in his narrowed eyes. The Spearow took flight, letting out a warning screech directed towards Kalina. <Get out of my territory human!>he cawed, launching himself at her. He flew about her, using his talons and beak to gourge any spot of skin visible. A crazy Spearow is attacking you!

Noticing the Spearow coming at her, Kalina dove to the side, doing her best not to get pecked or clawed at. "Alright Shellder, time to battle!" she declared bravely, pointing her arm out. However, the Shellder was reluctant to let go, and stayed clamped on her arm. "Come on Shellder, you need to beat this Spearow up or else I might not even have an arm to clamp onto" she whined, eventually managing to open the Pokemon's shell up with her psychic abilities. She then took the Shellder in her hand and declared "Tackle!", throwing the Shellder as hard as she could at the Spearow like a missile.
((lol had to do that ^^ Just can't help but imagine a Shellder using tackle that way))

((rofl, love it XD)) The Spearow screeched in surprise as a large purple shell rammed into his chest, sending the bird spiralling through the air. He managed to keep from slamming into the ground by quickly flapping his wings to remain afloat in the air. <You bastard!>the Spearow cawed in anger, eyes glaring both at the Trainer and Shellder with loathing. <You'll regret doing that!>the bird Pokemon snarled. Spearow quickly darted towards the Shellder, aiming his beak at the Water Pokemon. Hit by TackleUsed Peck

Letting out a slight gulp, Kalina commanded "Shellder, use Withdraw!", hoping that this would fend off the Spearow for a while so she could figure out a plan. After all, her Shellder was clearly outmatched in this fight. The Pokemon closed it's shell up tight as the Spearow came in, lessening the damage from the Peck.

It pecked at Shellder, trying to find any kind of opening and failing. With a squawk of annoyance it took to the skies, circling overhead until Shellder came out of it's shell.
<I'll be waiting, pathetic creature!> it shrieked, keen eyes locked on it's target.

Looking up at the Spearow, Kalina was trying to think of a plan to take on the Pokemon. "Hmm, I can't pick Shellder up again and throw it at the Spearow for Tackle. Something tells me that the Spearow won't like it" she pondered, thinking about what to do. With a small smile on her face, she formulated an idea and telepathically told Shellder 'Open your shell to entice that bird Pokemon in, then clamp down once it's head is inside.' The Shellder then opened up and waited.

((cj, you may want to check your notes when you get the chance))
"Trust me little Spearow, that Pokemon will not let go for anything" Kalina commented, watching as the bird tried everything possible to get out. "And I've got the marks on my arms to prove it. Now Shellder, try to perform a Tackle attack into the ground." The Shellder then leapt up into the air, hoping to perform a Tackle to smash the Spearow into the ground.

The Spearow was surprised at the Shelder being able to Tackle him into the ground. The Spearow's face was smashed into the snow, he lifted his head and spitted out some snow from his beck. Shaking his head he got up and shook his feathers as well. Being slammed into the snow wasn't exactly a nice thing.
He could still feel the affects of the Clamp, hurting the Spearow's body. The Spearow gave some look at the Shelder. Using Leer, he gave a glare hoping to lower defense of the Pokémon. He then flapped his wings and started running towards it. his beck glowing slightly he tried to Peck at the shell.

((Okay, guess I'm gonna have to be the one to explain this. My Shellder did NOT use Clamp earlier. It used it's defensive Withdraw move in an offensive manner. Kalina's been experimenting with her moves to try and develop new tactics, the same way Ash developed the Counter Shield technique in the anime.))
Noticing the Spearow using the Leer technique, Kalina called "Use Withdraw again before it gets to you. Then use Tackle to counterattack." The Shellder was more than happy to jump around a bit before using Withdraw to raise it's defenses, the Peck attack chipping away at his shell. However, he seemed to be having trouble getting enough momentum going to use Tackle properly.

A Wild Pokemon Has Appeared !"Hahaha, can't use your little tackle move this time, can you?" The spearow mocked the shellder. It was such an...odd looking pokemon. It probably took more effort just to jump up, but the flying pokemon was still wary. If the trainer decided to throw her pokemon again, he would be ready! The spearow perched on the shellder, and continued to peck at it, despite it's rising defenses.
hit by nothing. used peck.OOC || the spearow was just feeling the effects of clamp. For example, say you fall down a flight of stairs, and get bruised. you're going to feel that for the next few days. it was a situation like that.

((Right, just wanted to clear up that it wasn't the actual Clamp attack, just a makeshift variation that was done by using Withdraw in an offensive manner))
"Hmm, I'm going to guess that the Spearow's expecting me to throw Shellder for Tackle" Kalina pondered, thinking of anything else she could use to help spring an advantage attack. "I also don't want to throw Shellder again, because I know if I do, and the Spearow dodges, then I can pretty much say goodbye to my Shellder...I think I may have to run" she sighed, waving over to her Shellder to give the signal. She then grabbed it with Psychic, and then ran with it floating by her side.

The Spearow was startled as the Shellder suddenly floated up. For one crazy moment, Spearow thought it could fly. However, he realized that it was the girl who was actually doing it. <You coward!>Spearow screeched, glaring after girl. <You won't escape me that easily!>However, the girl proved faster than he thought and the bird gave up chasing after the two. <I've won this fight anyways,>the Spearow muttered, turning around and heading back home, ready to nurse his recent injuries before going out for food again. Is leaving[//i]

Glad that the Spearow had given up the chase, Kalina flopped to the ground, her Shellder once again clamping onto her arm. "I wish we could have another ally on our team right now. As much as I hate to admit it Shellder, you just can't put up as much of a close range fight as I'd hope. And we can't get any stronger until you learn some long range attacks..." Letting out a deep sigh, she whispered "I just don't know what to do."

Why? Why was it so cold? He didn't even unfurl his wings to take flight, because then his dada wouldn't find him right? He said he'd be right back, right?! Cold, painful breaths rasped at his throat. No. He couldn't cry! He had to be strong! His dada always said that he had to be strong! How he missed the warm enclosure of a Pokeball. And how he wished his dada would return to give him it back. It had been around three hours now. His dada, a young Trainer, about fifteen or sixteen, was travelling with a few friends his own age. Ledyba had been the first Pokemon he'd captured, about two days ago now. The baby insect had fallen easily to his dada's Torchic, and had developed a close bond with his dada... or so he'd thought. His smile had faded as his precious Ledyba had started losing more and more battles, and in the end, with a smile only barely there, the boy had sat him against a tree, rejecting his attempts at a big hug. And he'd said he'd be right back. Then smeared the spots Ledyba had just touched him on with his hands, as if they were contaminated and likely to spread. He had spent the first hour humming gently to himself. Then he'd started to get worried that his dada might be in trouble, so he'd gone looking. Nope. He was nowhere to be found. Whimpering as he leaned against another tree, he sank down, rubbing his tearful eyes with his many hands. Where was his dada?... He wanted his dada.... However, that wasn't about to happen, as a hiss made him jump in surprise, looking about frantically for the source. >Weeeeell weeeeeeell weeeeeeeell. Look what we have here,< hissed the Ekans as she emerged from the shadows, the rattle on her tail swishing hypnotically. >I wouldn't usssssssually go for an insssssssect, but I've been ssssssoo hungry lately that you'll just have to do.<Ledyba whimpered, hugging himself with four arms and clutching his mouth with another two. No. No... this couldn't be how it ended. Not yet! Not like this! ::ledyba:: ::ekans::

Suddenly hearing the sound of a Pokemon in distress, Kalina rushed to the source, her Shellder still clamped tight around her arm. Skidding to a halt as she saw the two, she declared >Stop what you're doing right now!< at the Ekans, in her Gardevoir voice. The Shellder was still clamped onto her arm, but was a little surprised at the girl's speech.

Sure, it would rather have eaten an egg of some sort, but in a pinch this bug would do quite nicely.
Ledyba was gone in a flash, now just a lump in Ekans' belly. Satisfied with it's meal, Ekans' forked tongue flicked out, tasting the air and finally noticing the girl.
<What are you staring at?> it hissed, slithering closer to get a better look.

Simply letting out a growl of fury, Kalina's eyes started to glow azure blue as a matching blue aura began to form around the Ekans. <I could've given you something else...something you would've enjoyed...But you wouldn't listen. You just had to eat the Ledyba...Well, I won't forgive you!> Lifting the Ekans into the air, her entire body started to let off a fierce aura, enveloping her completely. But through it, the Ekans could make out the silhouette of a Gardevoir, the silver glow of her eyes showing through the aura.

A Wild Pokemon Has Appeared ! Wha- What was this strange person doing to the poor ekans!? She was only hungry, and the ledyba seemed like a fruitful prospect...mm...fruit...purple aura...pancakes. She was so distracted from his thought of food, she barely felt the aura lift her up into the air. It took a few moments to register what was happening, and the ekans began flailing fiercly against the aura, breaking free of it and falling to the ground, "REALLY NOW? I will turn you into yummy purple cake!" The ekans lunged towards the trainer, opening her mouth wide as she attempted to bite her. Her fangs glistened.
broke free of the strange attack. used biteOOC || There were little hints of power playing in your posts, meaning you are not giving my character, or the ekans in this case, a chance to break free or do something else. The ekans will be yours to control when and if you catch it. :) Just be more aware of it in the future.
