Jesse glared at the Lotad with hatred in his eyes. How disgusting that creature was. That and its accomplice. Luring the innocent into the darkness and thieving and killing It was disgusting, and removing their leader would be doing the world a service.
Wouldn't it?
...No. He had no right to make these decisions. They weren't for him to make. Returning his Pokemon, he moved on, leaving the merciless pair in the open for nature to take care of. They were't his problem anymore. Life or death? That decsion wasn't his to make now. He had passed the gauntlet.

::Cacnea::
The cacti pokemon wasn't really sure why she was here in a forest when she'd blend in well with a desert, but she liked it here. It wasn't long before she wandered way too far out into the path. She noticed a trainer, she liked trainers! It wasn't every day you got to see them. Her mom said not to talk to them, but she decided it would be a good idea anyways. Scuttling, she quickly got over to where Jesse was.
<"Hi there!"> She waved to him, wondering what he would say back. Would he hurt her? Talk to her? Ignore her? She waited to see.

It had taken a while, but Jesse had calmed down considerably after the trick the Lotad and the Nincada had pulled before. He had simply gotten over it. After all, displaying your rage wasn't exactly a good example to your Pokemon.
Upon hearing the call, he tensed a little as he turned around and saw the spiked creature standing nearby, waving rather cheerfully. There was an odd sight. Tilting his head to look at the Cacnea's face from another angle, he wasn't quite sure whether he could trust the odd, sentient cactus just yet.
But she seemed genuine enough. He hadn't really taken a close look at the Lotad, and the Nincada's first appearance had been an attack on his Pokemon. Jesse liked to think of himself as a good judge of character, plus the Grass Type's enthusiasm was a tad infectious so he smiled at the Cacnea. "Hiya," he said, returning the greeting.

The cacnea was extremely excited, such kindness! She wasn't expecting him to be quite this nice! She giggled, jumping onto his shoulders.
<"I like you!"> She said, giggling all the way. She began to swing around his entire body. She swung on arms, legs, neck, hips; anything that was possible. She returned to the ground, she had her fun.
<"You're a trainer, right? That's awesome! What's it like?"> She inquired, hearing it directly from the source would be amazing! She wondered if he was a good trainer or not.

Well, this one was excitable, and so full of energy that Jesse could not help but to allow his smile to become genuine. There was a surprise. Her smile was just so wide, so genuine, that you would have to have a heart of ice to not be cheered up by it. And then she started... swinging on him? He felt like some kind of tree. It wasn't an unwelcome feeling. It was rather entertaining, and to any onlooker, the thought and sight of a Trainer with a fat, living cactus such as this suddenly and without warning using him as a jungle gym or a swinging tree must have been a hilarious one. And then she was down on the ground again, grinning up at him with that wide, infectious smile. The fact that she hadn't pricked him on the way down was always a plus. Taking a seat on a smooth, mossy rock, he released Dew and Laura in a flash of white. Judging by the Cacnea's outgoing nature so far, this wouldn't scare her. Laura acted as though she hadn't been in two tough fights in a row and walked off to a more open area, lying down with her tail tucked over her stomach as she tried to sunbathe without burning her fluffy white stomach, while still remaining where she could see and hear Dew and Jesse in case she was needed. Dew, meanwhile, couldn't quite muster the strength to just relax in the sun, and snuggled against Jesse's stomach, working his way into a nook and snuggling down with a tiny squeak as Jesse smiled softly. "Never boring," he said to the Cacnea. He thought the actions of his Pokemon answered the question better than words could. ::sunkern:: ::sentret::

The cacnea cheered when the other pokemon came out; more friends! They both looked so happy snuggling and having fun with their trainer! The way that sunkern snuggled Jesse made her see the answered her question. She wondered if she could be like that, all happy and free! She missed her mom though, and her time was becoming a tad short. She jumped off into the dirt, and gave him a wave.
<"I have to get going, mom must be worried. See ya!"> The cacnea waved her stubby cactus arm at Jesse before she began waddling away into the greenery. Her mom would be expecting her home soon, and she didn't want her to make her wait on her.

OOC: I have a Misdreavus now for suggesting a few changes to the cities.
IC: "Hey. You could come with us," suggested Jesse. He felt as little bad, since it was almost as though he was separating the Cacnea from her mother, but she seemed excited at the life of a Trainer, and perhaps that would extend to the life of a tamed Pokemon with a Trainer.
"I know you probably have a family and all, but it could be fun." Laura looked cautiously at the Cacnea as a gentle snoring escaped Dew's tiny body. "There's always room for one more."

Cacnea paused mid-step, turning to look back at the Trainer with alighted, curious eyes. "Me? With you guys?"she said in awe, as if it were a dream come true. A happy grin spread across her face, but was quickly replaced by a skeptic frown as the Trainer's Sentret mentioned his family. The Cacnea felt quite torn between her dream and his family. Which one should she choose? Her mother would probably furious at her, mostly for ditching her to go with a Trainer. But hermother can probably get enough food from her other siblings. One Cacnea gone isn't going to make much of a difference right? Besides, she was going to travel the world! "Okay!"Cacnea squealed happily without another second thought, jumping up and down. i110.photobucket.com/albums/n103/emuritto/cheypok/331.png[/img]Cacnea has decided to join you!

Judging by the fact that the smile remained and her general excitement, as well as the fact that the oddly enthusiastic Pokemon wasn't running for the hills, was a good sign for Jesse, and he assumed that the needled Pokemon wanted to come with him.
A Pokeball emerged from his belt, which he held out for the Pokemon to take as she pleased. Of course, if she preferred to travel freely, that was all well and good. With his other hand he held Dew, making sure the exhausted seedling didn't fall onto the cold, snow covered grass, which would be unpleasant for the poor Sunkern.

The Cacnea happily tapped the Pokeball's center and was sucked inside willingly. She didn't bother to fight it because it was quite nice in there.
A few seconds passed until a click could be heard, the Cacnea was starting a new life with new friends!

Jesse smiled as he put the Pokeball away and placed Laura and Dew back in their Pokeballs where it was warm. It was starting to get dark, and Jesse would have to find a more suitable space to set up camp. Ignus floated around his head, the Misdreavus occasionally pulling scary faces in an attempt to terrify him, but it didn't work. Jesse had grown accustomed to Ignus' tricks, and had more or less developed an immunity to them. As he reached an open clearing without too much snow on it, he pitched his tent and yawned. He needed sleep soon. Crawling in and quickly falling asleep, Ignus, who wasn't feeling sleepy- and didn't really need sleep anyway- looked around for Pokémon who weren't used to the dark fun of a Misdreavus. Ignus knew that his kind weren't native to La Premiere Route. He was mischievous, but he wasn't stupid. Time for a little nocturnal terror. ::misdreavus::

Grrr! Grrr! Dude Looks Like a Lady! { Ledyba } Male
A small Pokemon slunk out of the darkness of the bushes, head twitching as a flowered bush dropped several white flowers on his head. Shaking some of them off of his head, feeling their ticklish petals drop down his neck, he couldn't help but blush in embarrassment. He was a boy! A big tough one too. Better than all of the rest, and he couldn't be seen with such silly things adorning his body.
<Hm?> He heard footsteps walk by, and with some degree of amusement, a scary looking ghost was following a human, making scary faces along the way.
They were pretty scary, making him jump and bump his head into a prickly branch, shaking more flowers onto him. Scrambling with his many legs to brush them off, he frightfully looked after the ghost and its human companion, sensing that the scare was all in good humor. Why, it was funny now that he thought about it.
<Hey! Hey you! Can you teach me one of those scary faces?!> The Ledyba asked in a pleading voice, chasing after the duo with wings beating wildly, carrying him into the air.

Ignus floated around the tent, half keeping guard, half looking out for fun to do. Of course, the ghostly little Misdreavus' brand of fun wasn't always something that you would come out of intact. A Ledyba approached, and Misdreavus' form turned in mid-air to regard the insect. A ghostly cackle echoed from his form. The Ledyba looked young. Gullible. The perfect target for a little fun. >Of course I can,< he whispered. >Now listen carefully. I won't tell you twice.< Ignus could barely keep the giggles in. This was going to be so much fun! >First, make your eyes as wide as you can.< Ignus made it so that his eyes almost popped out of his head for emphasis. >Then stretch your mouth open.< Ignus' ephemeral hands stretched his mouth to unnatural dimensions. >Then scream!< demanded Ignus. At this, Ignus let out an echoing screech. Not quite loud enough to wake any sleeping Pokémon most likely- that would be this Ledyba's job, if he fell for the trick- but still quite frightening. >See if you can beat my record,< sneered Ignus. >I bet you can't wake up more than two birds with your scream,< said Ignus confidently, pointing to the cluster of trees that encircled the makeshift camp.

Grrr! Grrr! Dude Looks Like a Lady! { Ledyba } Supersonic
<Hahaha.> The Ledyba giggled at the Misdreavus's comical eye popping motions, then the way he stretched open his mouth was like something he never saw before. Some kind of a clown act or something, and the ghost kept laughing, letting him know that it was all in good humor.
He practiced his own wide-eyed expression, feeling a bit funny doing it when he was giggling as much as the ghost, and pretty much hurt his lips until they were dry with the mouth opening exercise. Then when Ignus showed off his scream, he yelped, completely horrified until he realized that everything was going to be ok.
<D-do better than you? Gosh golly, I haven't really practiced that much.> He rubbed his head nervously, debating whether losing would crush all of his young, easily boosted pride. Still trembling a little from that scary scream, he practiced the steps. Big eyes. Wide mouth. Then SCREAM! A supersonic burst out of his mouth, a sound so high pitched that only younger humans could hear it, and of course, all Pokemon.
Nothing seemed to happen, at first. Then bickering came from within the trees. <Hey! What's gotten into you!> <Dizzy so so dizzy!> < POOOOOP!>
The Ledyba sweat dropped, not getting the reaction he wanted. Now it was just confusion and chaos-- brilliant. He wasn't sure what Ignus was going to say to him, so he timidly looked up at the ghost, awaiting a reaction.

Ignus giggled, deciding to appeal to the young one's masculine pride. >You're wonderful at this! You're incredible! You're nothing short of magnificent! Now if you're really good at it, you'll keep it up until the birds come out of their trees!<He kept up the praise to appeal to his gullible pride. >You're not going to stop now, when you're only halfway done, are you? You're not a coward, are you?< Ignus was having so much fun! This Ledyba was so gullible it would be a crime not to take advantage of his naivete. In the tent, Laura and Dew had woken up in their Pokeballs, as well as his new Cacnea, Felicity. But there was nothing they could do at the minute. They were too tired. Jesse turned over but stayed asleep, mumbling about popcorn in his sleep. ::misdreavus::

Pride coursed through the Ledyba and he puffed out his chest, relishing in all the praises the Ignus was giving him. <Do it again?>he confirmed, full of uncertainty this time. You're not a coward, are you?A more determined glint flashed in the Ledyba's eyes as he straightened up, trying to look more intimidating. <Of course not!>he said, putting on a bragging tone. <Watch me.>The Ledyba was determined to make the Ghost Pokémon proud of him. Ledyba opened his mouth wide and let out a caterwaul. His scream took form of Supersonic again as the waves traveled toward the forest. The instant reaction was utter chaos. Birds exploded out of the trees, whirling through the air in circles as they tried to fight off the dizziness. Some Slakoth's fell out of their branches and landed upon the ground, letting out curses as they did. Loud chirps and squeals now echoed through the forest, the sounds combining into something of a bad orchestra. <How was that?>the Ledyba turned back to face Ignus with a smug smile on his face. Used Supersonic

Ignus giggled. Now it was time for the fun part. "You did just great," he chuckled, fading in and out as he zoomed around the place, giggling in excitement. Now it was time to see the fruits of his labour come to pass. Flying into the sky to yell at the birds, he shrieked. "He did it! He did it!" He flited around the place, yelling at the dazed Slakoth and the birds, pointing at the Ledyba below him with a spectral hand. Jesse crawled out of his sleeping bag, wiping his eyes and lips with freezing hands as he poked his head out of the tent. The Supersonic with its specific design hadn't woken him up, but the rudely awakened Pokémon had. He didn't look out of the tent just yet, getting changed into proper outdoor clothes first.

Grrr! Grrr! Dude Looks Like a Lady! { Ledyba } Being Chased Away By Spearow
{ Spearow } Chases
<U-Uhm...your trainer is waking up. And I don't think those birds look so happy.> The Ledyba gulped, suddenly not feeling so smug when he sensed a disaster waiting to happen. Did Ignus intend for this to happen? Or was it just a good idea gone wrong? One of the confused Spearow fell right out of the trees, and suddenly snapped out of it when Ignus started screeching about who caused her all of this pain and humiliation.
<Think you can get away with those kinds of tricks, do ya sonny?> She cawed, flapping her wings as she swiftly landed on her feet. Her eyes were keen and sharp, aim almost as perfect as an arrow shot by Robin Hood. Only her stare was more menacing, even if she believed that revenge was about to happen in the name of justice.
<E-Excuse me. H-help!> He squeaked in fear as she suddenly bolted for him. He quickly took to the skies, screaming about how this crazy bird was going to eat him, while she only wanted to Peck his eyes out for a good lesson. It was a pretty much a wild goose chase, with the goose doing the chasing.

At that moment, Jesse emerged from his tent, just in time to see the Spearow chasing after the Ledyba, wincing at the thought of what the Spearow would do to the Ledyba, thinking it just wanted a meal. Normally he wouldn't have intervened in nature, but the Ledyba was kind of cute, and he had always wanted a Ledyba or a Ledian. They weren't bad in a contest, and were wonderfully social creatures. They had fascinated Jesse from a young age, and he had forgotten a lot of that fascination when a number had perished, burned to death in the inferno. But seeing one first hand had reignited that passion. "Ignus?" The cackling ghost turned to Jesse. "Go after it, will you? Give it some help." The Misdreavus floated after the Spearow. Before long, he was soaring over the Spearow and the Ledyba. Of course, he had no intention of helping the Ledyba, but of intensifying the terror with a little help to the Spearow. Of course, if the Spearow left the Ledyba alone after it was down, Ignus would drag it back to Jesse. But if the Spearow wanted to hurt it a little more... Ignus wouldn't intervene. Launching a Psywave from his spectral hand down at the Ledyba, Ignus cackled gleefully as the pink light surged at the insect. >Teehee! Run little buggy, run! Death's a knockin' at your door! Teehee!< Ignus used Psywave on Ledyba.

Grrr! Grrr! Dude Looks Like a Lady! { Ledyba } Hit by Psywave Hit by Peck
{ Spearow } Peck on Ledyba
As the Spearow was chasing the Ledyba, some kind of miracle happened. A funny purple ray of energy actually collided into the bug, stopping him in mid-air. It was the perfect opportunity to strike! With raised wings, she struck at the Ledyba with a painful looking Peck, causing the frightened bug to fall onto the ground with a thud. Not even the snow would've cushioned a blow like that.
Appearing smug with the act she just completed, a curious gaze turned to the ghost that helped her frighten off the bug. What a helpful little creature, helping her make justice like that. <Thank you, it's always nice to be lent a wing.> She cawed, pleased with Ignus's efforts in teaching pesky children a lesson.
<W-Why...> The Ledyba whimpered on the ground, cold as the snow blanketed his body. Why did his friend do that to him? That was just so mean. So unkind. He shivered, trying to stand up as he resisted the urge to cry. He trusted the Misdreavus, and now this happened...
