Ignus giggled to himself at the Spearow's compliment. Oh this was good. His fun was appreciated by the little birdy! How wonderful! >Thank you,< he murmured in false humility as he looked down at the Ledyba. Come to think of it, he was hungry. And if this bird didn't object... well... as far as his Trainer knew the Spearow finished this kid off before he could get to them. And why would it object? Nature was nature. And Jesse's Pokemon food, while delicious, was no substitute for food caught in the wild. >Say... are you hungry after all that excercise?< he cackled, looking down at the snow covered Ledyba. >It would be a shame to let such an easy meal go to waste!<With the final word, Ignus swooped downwards, hand glowing a bright pink trailing hearts behind it as he brought it down towards the Ledyba's back without mercy, seeing that it was standing again. He was happy enough with his Trainer, so the Return was pretty powerful. Perhaps more powerful than he had intended. Not that he knew that made a difference ::misdrEavus:: Ignus used Return.

::ledyba:: ::spearow:: Pokemon encounter ! Spearow grinned devilishly at the Misdreavus' proposal. <I certainly am.. if you're willing to let me partake.> He hadn't eaten in a while, and he'd been worried about having no breakfast as well. This would make a suitable meal to last him to the next day.
<No.. please!> Shrieked the small Ledyba, knowing that the horrible ghost had betrayed him. But how could you go from friendliness to murderousness in just a matter of seconds? The thought chilled him to the bone. Ignus' Return struck painfully, generating strange feelings in him. It was like being hugged with poison-laced arms. Pain swept through him, followed up by Spearow's attack - a swift peck to the chest that resulted in a stream of bug blood.
<Please.. don't kill me..> Squeaked the little bug, pain erupting throughout his body. It was either fight or flight, but either way he'd probably die unless the Misdreavus had mercy on him. In an effort to defend himself, the Ledyba tackled his body against the Spearow, who gave a caw of irritation.

Ignus laughed at the pitiful squeaks of the bug. >Kyeh kyeh kyeh! Listen to the little buggy cry! Squeal, buggy, squeal!< cackled Ignus, pink light glowing around his hand before he sent another Psywave spiralling at the insect. >He's just a kid. Not much there to eat,< remarked Ignus to the Spearow. >But food's food, isn't it? Heehee!<Jesse heard pained grunts and squeals, and what he assumed to be Ignus firing Psywaves at the Spearow. But unfortunately that was anything but the case, and Jesse wouldn't be getting a Ledyba today. ::misdreavus:: Ignus used Psywave.

::ledyba:: ::spearow:: Pokemon battle ! The Ledyba gave another pained cry, a bit quieter this time, as the Psywave wracked his mind and damaged it even further. <No..> He groaned weakly, his vision beginning to grow fuzzy and disoriented as his body grew ever weaker. Spearow laughed at Ignus' sense of humor. <You betcha! Hahaha!> He crowed, giving an evil cackle of his own.
Spearow took a few steps near to the Ledyba, each causing the young insect's eyes to widen larger. <P..Pl...> A weak whisper escaped the ladybug's lips, but he could muster no more energy. Eyes lolling upward, the insect prepared to meet his death. Giving a squawk of triumph, the Spearow leaned back slightly, then launched his blunt beak forward and jabbed mercilessly at the insect's dying body. A squeak escaped the young one's lips; then not another sound was uttered. Blood dripped from the chest wound inflicted by the stabbing beak.
<Shall I?> The terrible Spearow asked, licking the warm insect blood off of his beak.

Ignus clapped happily as the Ledyba died. There was a spark of guilt in him for going a little further than intended, but Ignus was one to go with the flow, and the Ledyba's flow had always been destined to end in death because of its gullibility and willingness to trust everyone- even a ghost Pokemon, not the most trustworthy type.
Ripping a piece of Ledyba flesh off the corpse, he ate it, licking the remnants of the blood and grit off his spectral fingers and leaving most of the corpse for the Spearow. He had had his fun, and the guilt would fade quickly when another opportunity for fun came up. Waving to the Spearow and leaving her to her meal, he soared off.
Jesse sighed upon hearing that the Spearow had gotten the Ledyba before Ignus could catch up. He wasn't sure whether or not he trusted the ghost, but he couldn't tell whether he was lying or not. So he packed up his things and moved on. It was close enough to morning that he could, though the sky was only just becoming light.

Walking father the route it started to smell like a fresh breeze. Closer if you looked there was a pond. Pokémon were sipping from it peacefully. Many kinds too, Meowth, Skitty, Shinx even. But as soon as you would walk they would scram. The pond was open to all really, but Pokémon started running away as soon as humans came. Although one Pokémon was not running away how odd. The Wingull blinked at the opening of the pond, the big old eyes watching. It seemed like he was the guard.

Jesse smiled as he approached the watering hole, letting out his Pokemon to relax and drink. Felicity and Dew in particular gulped greedily from the water, Ignus floated off to torment something (with a less fatal conclusion than last time, with any luck), while Lucy and Laura lolled in the shade.
Upon catching sight of the Wingull, Jesse found a tiny smile forming on his face. Living in a city area gave pretty much no opportunity to see Wingull and other coastal creatures around, and so this opportunity was good for him. "Hi there," he smiled at it. "Sup?" he asked politely.

Gelid Journey
The Wingull saw a Trainer release his Pokémon into the open around the watering hole and was a bit surprised; it wasn't every day where one would see a human use a watering hole. Not only that but the human even spoke to him! How strange! The Wingull was bored at first but now he was a bit nervous at the sight of a human and his Pokémon.
<"Can I help you with something?"> asked the Seagull Pokémon. He didn't look at the human as guards were only allowed so much movement every so often without being "out of line" or something along those lines. He had been a guard ever since he was of age like his father before him. He never really had the chance to make his own decisions as they were usually done by his bossy mother. He actually wanted to be able to travel the world some day. However, circumstances wouldn't allow him to ever do that.
<"If you don't need anything then I suggest you go on your way,"> said the Wingull. He had run into humans before and he was always taught to be watchful. They were a very crafty bunch and would often go to extreme lengths to get what they want if they were passionate enough. That's what was wrong with them or so he was taught from his mother. However, at the same time, he learned from his best friend, a Wailmer, that humans weren't all so bad. Though they haven't seen each other since he got this job, they had been together since he could soar above the seas.
Mood: Indifferent (?) - Wingull seems intrigued but has to ignore you. Continue to interact?

"I just wanna talk," smiled Jesse sitting down on the snow covered grass after spreading out a thick jacket to sit on so that only the slightest amount of cold seeped into his thin frame.
"I'm going on a journey," continued Jesse as Dew shivered from the cold and Felicity jumped into the water for a swim. "I always thought people would wanna see the world a little and not just get caught in some stuffy old watering hole forever." He spoke nonchalantly and acted innocent as he flicked a piece of dust from his fingers, but he knew what he was doing as Felicity giggled and splashed in the pond.

The Wingull kept his stare on the Trainer. <I am the guard here, no evil Pokemon can get in with me around.> He said, placing a wing on his chest. <Besides, I've grown up here all my life, why would I want to leave?> He asked with a frown.
He moved to a rock beside the pond and perched himself upon it. He over looked the pond as if he acted like the lifeguard. <Look, if you don't have anything better than to talk to me I'd go now.> He said, he had no time to chit-chat! He had to guard the place. If he wasn't going to do it, who would?

Jesse's eyes narrowed. "And since when is this your pond?" he demanded, voice low. "This is a public place, birdbrain and if my Pokémon want to drink and play here, they'll drink and play here and unless they break the rules and get violent for no reason, you can't do a damn thing about it."Jesse continued as he glared up at the Wingull. "I dunno what your problem is or why you're being a total asshole, but you can't tell us what to do. Got it?"He was startled at his own tone. This wouldn't usually be his type of retaliation. He would have left without another word. But now he had become protective of his Pokémon and his rights alike. Sure they weren't always perfect, but they were his, and that was all that mattered. Felicity walked up to Jesse with a worried look. >Are you guys OK?< she asked concernedly, looking between the Wingull and Jesse concernedly. She was wet from her swim, and so shook herself dry, getting some over Jesse and heaven only knew what else in the area, who chuckled at her before relaxing and talking to her, totally ignoring the Wingull again. ::cacnea::

Pokemon encounter ! Wingull narrowed his eyes as well, an alert going off in his head. The human was actually challenging him, a roughin', toughin' not really guard bird who had vanquished many evil-doers? This was a safe haven for wild pokemon, and no trainer was going to come in and muck it up. <Who says I can't?> Hissed the bird, the feathers on his nape rising.
This was serious. As there were no other dangers surrounding the pool, the bird decided to address the only threat. He flew back to where he was in front of the trainer. Intending to cause harm to the human, the Wingull stared into Jesse's eyes and unleashed supersonic waves in the direction of his mind. Hardly visible, they were usually only noticed by Pokémon.
Wingull used Supersonic on Jesse!

As he smiled and laughed with Felicity, a terrible sound reached his ears. Screeching and grating, it made him grunt in pain as he crouched a little more to try and escape the sound. Felicity heard it as well, squealing in pain as the sound reached her sensitive ears, before seeking solace in Jesse's arms. He gave her a quick hug, ignoring the pain of her needles digging into the soft flesh of his stomach through the fabric of his shirt, before directing her to attack the aggressive bird. "Poison Sting. Lucy?" He looked to the Skuntank, who perked up, ready for action while Dew hid nervously behind the still relaxing Laura. "Help her out." The baby Stunky needed the experience. Felicity fired several venomous needles up at the Wingull, while Lucy leapt surprisingly high for one so young, claws glowing bright as she lashed them viciously at the Wingull's face, aiming for the eyes. ::cacnea:: Felicity used Poison Sting.

The Wingull gasped in surprise as the human was now double teaming on him. <Hey, that isn't fair!> He yelled out, ducking the Poison Sting by an inch. Then, the small poison type dug its claws into his feathers. He cried out, which turned into another Supersonic heading towards the Stunky. Then, he opened his mouth and a blast of water went right at the Cacnea. <You'd better think twice before messing with me!> He said, sounding a bit nervous.

"You should have thought twice before messing with us," replied Jesse coolly, relaxing a little more as the pain faded from his skull and he watched Felicity get shot back to the ground with a squeal by a jet of water from the Wingull, while Lucy dropped and rolled, escaping the sound. Hissing with a touch of battle lust in her voice, she leaped into the air, her glowing claws outstretched and lashing at the Wingull's eyes, before she dropped to the ground again, followed up by Felicity sending an array of white, poison needles at the Wingull her face a little pained from the rough landing. Jesse was concerned, but for all of Felicity's playfulness and innocence, he had no doubt that she was at least a half decent fighter. She could take care of herself. ::cacnea:: Used Poison Sting.

The Wingull squawked in pain as the needles went through his body, and then the claws rip at his feathers. He shook his head and got up in the air once more. His act was up, he wasn't a big old though Wingull. He was a scary skitty who just acted like he was tough. Well now was the time to shine! He screeched at the Cacnea, the Supersonic echoed through the area and the loud piecing noise broke the silence in the wind. Then, a blast of water went at the Stunky, the freezing cold water went right towards it to blast it.

Felicity was preparing to fire off another volley of venomous needles when the sound of the Supersonic hit her, only this time much more intense than the first time, making her hold her ears, squealing in terrified pain as she was actually hurt internally by the sound, her mind fogging up and becoming addled. Jesse perked up at this. He hadn't known Felicity for long at all but he knew that that was a cry that said she was scared. That she wanted Jesse. Glaring up at the Wingull, he snarled as Lucy was blasted to the ground by the close range Water Gun, slamming onto the ground and rolling in the grass, away from the watering hole. How odd that this place was grassy, with no snow at all, when the rest of the route was totally blanketed in the thick white powder. Lucy got up on quavering legs. It was the first attack to hit her, but for all her spunk and attitude, Lucy was freshly hatched, and had minimal combat experience. Nevertheless she leapt into the air again, claws outstretched to Scratch the Wingull. But not before she lifted her tail and released a toxic purple cloud of dubious origins and composition from her scent glands, before using the cover of this poisonous fog to attack with brightly glowing claws, exploding from the smog as Felicity stood below, dazed and disoriented, swaying on her stubby feet. ::cacnea:: Confused. The Wingull blinked. Oh joy, one of his attacks hit. He happily chirped but soon his thought victory ended with the Smog hit. It made the thing gag and cough, he tried to fly out of it but no use. Soon, he could feel himself being Poisoned by the Smog.
He struggled out of the smog only to be slashed at by the Stunky's claws. He was thrown backwards and landed on his stomach. He got up slowly and shook his head. He was a wimp, he knew it. He opened his mouth once more from where he was and shot a Water Gun at the Stunky.

Lucy released a hissing shriek as she was struck by the Water Gun, quavering as she struggled to stay conscious, never mind standing. Her lack of abttle experience was proving to be her downfall as the Wingull weakened her. This was just what was needed to snap Felicity out of her confusion, albeit momentarily. Gasping, she sent a volley of purple needles up at the Wingull, augmented by Lucy, who leapt up after the needles had passed, glowing over her whole body as she focussed her energy into making a scratch with her blindingly white claws, made so by the attack and by the focus she had garnered by waiting a little. Hit or miss, it would be her last attack with her energy as low as it was. ::stunky:: Used Focus Energy and Scratch.

Staying on the ground had been a mistake, something that the wingull realized rather quickly. His body ached, he could feel a fever forming and while not flying lessened the strain, it left him far, far too vulnerable. It was all he could do try and avoid the poisoned needles, crying out in pain as they shattered against his body, forcing him to cover himself with one of his wings. Though the needles stung quite painfully at least it was tolerable here beneath his wings, a strategy that seemed to be paying off. <I said...go away...> he called out, trying to sound tough and intimidating, though the desperation in his voice was clear. He wasn't a fighter, and besides two on one was hardly fair... how could he possibly win? With the poison sting abruptly ceasing Wingull lowered his wings, preparing to mount a counter attack. Before he could even register what was going on around him, the skunky was on top of him, delivering a nasty scratch across his chest. Crying in pain it was all the bird type could do to fire another watergun at the purple skunk, the attack was short lived as the poison from earlier ripped through him causing the wingull to shudder in pain. ::wingull:: Hit by Scratch and Poison Sting! Hurt by Poison Weakening, Poisoned Used Watergun on Lucy!
