Syllina had a very difficult time dodging an attack that came from a raging pokemon, and when it struck her... Sam could tell that it hurt as the power intensified due to the fact that she was already struck herself and thus angry at the outcome. It instantly made the poor Smeargle fall to the ground as she was tired from the attack... But she wasn't one to give in either. "Syllina. Show them how interesting you really are! Ice Beam again!" He said and she shot another ice beam at the Steelix after being hit with the attack. She was exhausted and seriously wanted to give up. But she knew that Seamus was watching and she had to look pretty and had to look tough for him, or else there would be no way he'd see her... And be interested in her. >Come on baby! This is for you!< She winked. Blaze on the other hand wasn't having as much luck. He was instantly struck by a supersonic sonar wave and then slashed by a sonic boom and quickly fell on the ground as the paralysis took too much out of him to move. >Ugh boss! I can't move my body!< He said. Sam didn't understand but he could see clearly that the paralysis took it's affect this turn. And he could easily tell that Blaze was in no shape to make a move... Especially not right this instant. (Weakening) Summary: Hit by Rage. He admired them for their sturdy nature in battle, and how they had a hard time going down. The Fire Spin move was still blazing around them, weakened by the Light Screen but still persistent in making damage despite that. The Light Screen was a fine addition to double battles as well, and he was glad he used it on Neon. It was a good way to cover his weaknesses, which was what he planned from the start. The Magby was completely paralyzed this turn, and Cobalt was still in a rage. The Smeargle attacked her right after using her last rage attack, boosting up her attack power even more. She was about to lash out once more, but Seamus's voice had a certain amount of power over her. "Halt-- attack with sound. Screech and Metal Sound on the Smeargle." His eyebrows were raised at how the steel snake hesitated, releasing the attack boosting effects of rage and started a loud screech at the painting Pokemon. Neon followed with a metal sound of her own, not entirely sure why they had to overpower the normal type with sound. Especially when she lacked any special moves to abuse it, which she couldn't even fathom. "Thunder Fang on the Smeargle, Sonicboom on the Magby." He ordered, wondering how this would work in the battle. He had no idea what the Smeagle was capable of, but seeing that she was striking only with ice beam, he just had to wonder what Sam had planned with that one. Cobalt finally got her chance to strike at the Smeargle, fangs lighting up with electricity for the chance to chomp on her tail. Neon merely sent another cut in the air, a force so unique that the Magby's defenses didn't even matter when it was being used. Syllina was struck hard with a combination of screeching noises which hurt her ears crazily and prevented her from making a movement. It acted almost like a paralysis and left her vulnerable and open when the Steelix came in and bit her right in the neck. The bite stung hard and the electricity from the fang meshed with the intensity of the sounds in her body to intensify the attack. She was starting to wane fast and get very weak fast. Sam did not like the way this was going at all. "Come on Syllina, keep it up. You can still do it!" He encouraged although he honestly did not know how much more she could take. "Just give another Ice Beam to the Steelix." He said. It was all she could do now. And with that she sent another Ice Beam. It was sad that the attack had weakened, but it was the best she could do. Blaze, on the other hand, was quickly struck with a very fast supersonic boom. The attack did not do much to him, but it did leave a scrape and some blood. He also began to tire quickly and fell on one knee, about to just give out completely. "Come on Blaze, you still have it in you! Use Ember on the Steelix!" He commanded and soon the Magby sent an Ember attack at the large behemoth also. "I have come a long way, but yet your Steelix is still just as tough as before, if not tougher." Sam said. He was just glad that the Magby didn't hit itself... ::Smeargle:: (Weak) (-2 defense) (-2 special defense) Summary: Hit by Screech + Metal Sound + Thunder Fang. It would've been smart to keep with the rage, Seamus realized, but he wanted attacks with more on an oompth to back them up. He had to estimate that the Steelix could endure another onslaught of attacks like that, with the light screen. Without it, she was definitely in trouble. Neon would have to be available to set it up, without a doubt. At the very least, both Pokemon left her untouched. As the fire spin danced around her body, making her shudder in pain, she looked towards Seamus for a command. It felt weird watching her ally get attacked and having nothing bothering her, so she felt inclined to help. "Rock Tomb on the Magby. Neon, use another Metal Sound on Smeargle, then help out Cobalt." He found enough air in his lungs to say all of that, but this match was definitely looking good. The Steelix let out a furious encasing of rocks at the weakening fire type, trying to guarantee it hitting it while Neon aimed another blast of sound at the painter. The Magnemite found it difficult to aim at the Magby when Cobalt's rock tomb was spraying about, but she weaved around it to try and Tackle the fire type. The Rock Tomb and Tackle quickly smashed hard onto Blaze who quickly collapsed hard onto the floor and was unable to move. He was too stubborn to give up just yet but he wasn't able to move his entire body at all. The paralysis hit him incredibly hard and he found no strength at all to move as he simply closed his eyes and awaited the end. Sam saw this and knew right away that the battle wasn't going well at all. He would have maybe one, hopefully two more turns at best. And Syllina wasn't in a better position as she was quickly struck with another ringing Metal Sound to weaken her special defenses even more. The disable was about to run out so that wasn't good for her. But she held out hope that she'd be able to survive a few more turns... Enough to help her ally at the very least. "Okay, Syllina. Another ice beam on the Steelix! Lets take it out!" He screamed as it was the best he could do. "Come on! We can still do this!" He tried to encourage his team..."[/b] Although it seemed that all hope was about gone now. ::Magby:: (Almost Very Weak) (-2 defense) (-1 speed) (PARALYZED) (CONFUSED) Summary: Hit by Rock Tomb (SE) and Tackle. She looked from side to side, confused at the lack of protection until like a bullet, the Ice Beam took her down. She fell onto the ground, like a heavy tractor being cow tipped. Seamus could only watch with a stunned expression, before understanding something. A critical hit. She probably would've endured that Ice Beam without the Light Screen normally, but not helping it this time. "Return. Let's just stick with you, Neon." He nodded at the Magnemite, also glancing towards Sam. He didn't want to use all of his team, as short double battles had a bit of class to them. Easy and simple, were they not? The Steelix was removed from the field, leaving the Magnemite against her two foes. "Thunderwave the Smeargle, and Sonicboom the Magby. Let's see if we can pick it off." He nodded, pushing up his glasses with a calculating look. The Magnemite endured the tiny hits from the Fire Spin, but no major attacks had been made on her in a while. She sent a weak jolt of electricity at the Smeargle to keep her on her toes, then her focus was sent on the fire type. No more fire spins, she hoped! A sonicboom was sent at the fire type, trying to narrow it down to a 1 versus 1 battle. It was such a pleasant surprise when Sam saw the large behemoth finally fall. "Wow I can not believe I actually took that thing down. Wow." He said as he was incredibly happy for him and his pokemon. The only problem... After the result was seen, Blaze was quickly struck with a sonic boom and he also fell in the battle. "Good work Blaze. You were awesome but I guess it wasn't your night." He sighed as he returned Blaze to his pokeball. Syllina on the other hand was hit with a thunder wave and instantly paralyzed from the attack. It immediately had an impact on her as she was unable to attack for the round, and it made her incredibly vulnerable to whatever was about to come her way. "I have improved so much as a trainer but it seems I still might not be up to your par..." Sam sighed as he clapped his hands, knowing that his outcome was just about to come. "Hopefully this time, I will get your name." He said. ::Magby:: Hit by Sonic Boom. Fainted. +1 level for Magby, Steelix, and Magnemite

"Your Magby did well, for something so small." He complimented, since Cobalt's size was incredibly intimidating. Even against a fire type, she liked to make things a challenge one way or another. When the paralysis struck the Smeargle, he couldn't help but think that this was good luck right here. He wouldn't get another chance like this, he was sure. "Light Screen, then Tackle." Why tackle? He was thinking about another Disable that was about to happen. Perhaps it was just paranoia, but he wanted to see how weak the Smeargle was before he used that kind of move. Neon extended her magnets around herself, and they suddenly pointed forward, emitting some kind of special defense barrier. That made things easier on her part, seeing the difference it made with Cobalt. Then she rushed forward with a Tackle, confident on making a hit. Syllina was quickly struck with another tackle... And suddenly she noticed that the Light Screen had been put up again which weakened her attacks. It was at this moment that Sam really regretted not having a means of teaching Syllina Heat Wave. That would have been epic here, but she did not have a way of learning it. He now had to think, to prolong the match or not? It was obvious he was going to lose, so prolonging might not be ideal... But maybe he could pull off an upset. "Heck, screw it! Slack off!" He said and Syllina quickly smiled and ran over to hug Sam after. She was tired of battling and just wanted to be lazy and bum it out. This gave her the chance. She simply took a nap and decided to really just be lazy. All of her wounds healed very nicely after the nap and she felt brand new all over again. >That was wonderful!< She said after she finished the nap. "You look better." Sam said which made Syllina blush. Not a tree he should have barked... ::Smeargle:: (-2 defense) (-4 special defense) (PARALYZED) Summary: Hit by Tackle. He had to think a bit about that one, because it looked like a majority of their attacks were swept away. How to counter something like that? Hope for another paralysis to stop her? Try to confuse her and stall them out? For now, he thought lowering her special defenses to the max would be his best bet. Then all of Neon's Thunderbolts would hit hard, wouldn't they? Disable or not, the one move would hurt. "Metal Sound and Thunderbolt." He commanded, paying no mind to the normal type's frivolous behavior. Neon seemed to think that the slacking off was an odd thing to do in a battle, but the health benefit was there. To be honest, she was a bit envious about it. She shook her head, trying to get herself back in battle mode. She cried out another Metal Sound, unleashing little rings with spikes that looked intimidating, but didn't cause damage directly. It only made her strongest move even stronger. She gathered up her energy to pull off another Thunderbolt on the Smeargle, half wondering if she could even manage to pull off a dodge. Syllina was instantly struck with another metal sound and it was clear from the attack that she sustained a major blow thanks to her lowered special defense. The paralysis also did not help her situation at all as it rendered her unable to attack back and she simply lay there, unable to do anything at all. She stood on the floor, the attack wiped off almost three-fourths of her energy so she was basically a sitting duck and basically done for. Sam knew it, and he contemplated just forfeiting... But as a trainer, one doesn't learn by giving up. One has to experience defeats here and there. And although he'd lose to Seamus he did feel better now. If only he could get a name this time around though. "Good game but I guess you are the victor again." Sam said... He knew it was over, he just had to wait for the bell to ring. That was rare, especially since he avoided supersonic this time around. To be exact, it was a 1/4 chance, but even that didn't happen often in his wild Pokémon battles. Neon seemed a bit dazed, just staring at a Pokémon withering in paralysis. She seemed compelled to stop right there, and she glanced at Seamus for further instructions. "Finish it." He sighed, hoping that the awkwardness of the last turn would end so he could clear his consciousness. Neon turned to give Sylina a sympathetic look, hoping for no hard feelings after such an interesting battle. She charged right ahead with a tackle, knowing it could do enough damage to end it all. "I was just trying out double battle styles." He commented, looking at Sam with a bit of surprise. "I still need a better way to deal with fire types...especially if the master fire trainer comes around." He added, talking a bit more this time than he intended. The fire trainer in question was Blaze, the one that managed to steal his starter after a battle against his Moltres. It really was no match, but he wanted to be better prepared next time. The tackle hit Syllina hard but she was able to withstand the attack and counter with her own ice beam retaliation on the Magnemite. The problem was, the counter took so much out of her that she quickly fell to the ground once more and became a sitting duck for the next attack. This was the hardest she had ever had to work and she felt very bad for having to go this far in a battle. She just wanted to sit next to a television and just watch TV until her mind goes blank. She didn't want to work, and she sure as heck didn't like getting beaten up. Sam saw this and knew it was over, but he had to sit through and watch Syllina take the final plunder because if he did not... He wouldn't really be improving as a trainer at all. At least not in his own standards. When Sam heard the reason why Seamus was battling, it got him a bit interested as he could relate to the story himself. "I'm sort of the same way. I am trying to get stronger in case the legendary trainer appears again." And by the legendary trainer, he meant Jay who defeated him with an Umbreon and smashed him with the Giratina. He even lost his rarest pokemon to this trainer. He knew he had a long way to go... But he had to take it one day at a time before he could eventually match up to that legendary Jay. ::Smeargle:: (Very Weak) (-2 defense) (-6 special defense) (PARALYZED) Summary: Hit by Tackle. Guess there are more to worry about out there." Seamus blinked, wondering if they were talking about the same person. He happened to be at the Power Plant event when Blaze had been publicly outed by Winter, so he knew who took his starter. He got the Beedrill back, but he was put into Daycare with the hopes it would be a positive experience. Plus the damn thing had to stop being so clingy. It was annoying. The Ice Beam surprised both Neon and Seamus, but it was nothing to worry about. Neon was resistant to it, and the light screen was up. She looked as if she took a bit of damage from it due to being at a lower level, but otherwise she was fine. It was time to hit her hard, to guarantee the knock out. "I suppose Thunderbolt will be enough, right?" He suggested, and the Magnemite used a tad weaker Thunderbolt than before at the fallen Smeargle. She had some amount of pity, at least. With a crackle and a shock Syllina quickly and expectantly fell onto the floor to faint after the attack. "Well it seems I still have a long way to come." Sam said as he returned Syllina back into her pokeball after the battle. "By the way, nice battle. And about legendary trainers? Did yours have one also? I fought an Umbreon and then a Giratina. It was the scariest thing ever..." Sam said. He was still fed up when the trainer took his rarest and most valuable Pokémon after. He had not gotten it back yet nor is he ready to go near the base to get it back again... That battle taught him a very valuable lesson... He is ages away from being ready. Ages away from seeing Mirage again. "Good fight." He said as he quickly began to recharge his Pokémon and then sent out Blaze with a specific egg for him to hatch. "Care to stay with me for a bit? I want to hatch this Gligar egg first... But after, I have no idea what I will do with it." He said. He thought about it, maybe the trainer would want it? But what would a Gligar do on his powerful team? Who knew... It wouldn't hurt to ask. "Would you like it? Sort of a thank you for the first battle." Hit by Thunder Bolt. With the battle over, Seamus could relax a little as Neon floated carefully towards him. She had some injuries, but she was otherwise fine. Nothing a quick rest wouldn't fix, at least. He patted her on the head for doing a good job and returned her, but the others would need to be taken care of. Poor Kindle was going to need more than a band-aid this time. "We both do...only one badge so far." He admitted, so Sam wouldn't feel too bad about how things turned out. Steel types were tricky after all.
"The legendary trainer I fought had a Moltres. There was also a Charizard." He didn't mention that it was shiny, simply because he didn't know that was the abnormal coloration. Ah well, he didn't know the guy Sam was talking about though.
"A Gligar egg?" Seamus asked, a bit surprised at the offer. He supposed he could stick around, at least to see what exactly a Gligar was. It was some desert creature, right? "I can hang onto it for you." He nodded, and then that left the two males with a bit of a situation. What to do?
"We should try and take care of our Pokemon while we wait at least. I like to feel productive." He explained, waving for Sam to follow him to one of the healing machines. It was simple, just slipping in the Pokeballs and waiting a certain amount of time for them to be healed. Almost like magic, if you didn't understand the mechanics. "I'm Seamus by the way." Well he had no choice but to introduce himself now.

Sam quickly followed Seamus to the machine to heal his pokemon also, when he suddenly got the name of the mysterious trainer who had beat him twice... "Se-a-mus" He said, repeating his name so that he would remember it. He was also interested in hearing about the trainer that Seamus fought, he didn't see a Moltres in his battle, nor a Charizard. Just an Umbreon and a Giratina. Maybe it was the same trainer, or maybe there were more legendary trainers in Cheyenne? Sam looked behind and quickly saw Blaze holding onto the Gligar egg now. It would very likely go faster with his ability which excited Sam... Well, now to just talk, or maybe battle? Sam was up for either one. "So what now? Want to battle again? We can help each other get stronger. Or do you want to just talk and share strategies?" He asked his new companion/friend. Blaze nicely held the egg, keeping it warm and healthy. ::egg:: (Gligar Egg) Breeding Post 2. *Achievement Choice Move: Rock Climb* [OOC: You want the 5 post hatch (level 1 with 2 egg moves) or the 10 post hatch (level 5 with 1 egg move). As soon as they were all healed, a little Pokeball began to rumble and soon Kindle was back out of his sphere. He looked as if he was dazed from being in the darkness of the Pokeball, and suddenly flew onto Seamus's arm, clinging to it as if it was a tree branch. The man ignored the pink thing as he got the rest of his Pokeballs in order, all appearing to be in good condition for another battle.
"Either we have the same name, or you're practicing mine." He noted, a bit amused that Sam didn't introduce himself. Not that it mattered too much, but it would be nice to give a name to a face. "Another battle would be more comfortable. As much as I want this one to level up, I don't want to traumatize him." He sighed, patting the baby Hoppip on the head. He was going to have to set him up in battles with Pokemon around his own age somehow.
"A quick double battle would work." He agreed though, and decided to switch through his team a bit. Some of the stronger ones haven't been used lately, since he was focusing more on egg hatching and other side jobs, but Ethyl and Acetate needed the exercise. He released both a Totodile and Shieldon, who both shook their heads upon being released into the bright light.
Ethyl glanced at Acetate and grinned, waving towards him, and he simply looked away. Her face fell a bit short, and turned to the Magby instead. He seemed a bit friendlier, with the egg and all, so she waved at him shyly. "They don't get along as well, but maybe a battle would fix that a bit." He added, explaining his reasoning.

Sam felt a bit awkward when he realized that Seamus had never gotten his name. He thought he had introduced himself a couple of times but it seemed that the name never stuck to the mysterious trainer. And when he saw the two new pokemon of Seamus, and saw how much stronger they looked in particular, he began to get even more worried. This was going to be difficult definitely... But if this trainer wanted a double battle again then he'll give him one. And he'll make sure to use his stronger pokemon also. In an instant he looked over at Blaze who quickly clutched the egg while looking at his trainer. "I guess I won't call on you right now." He said, smiling at Blaze before he decided to throw out two of his pokemon also. "I haven't used either of these in a while so it'd be nice to get them some experience... Especially some working together." He said, smiling as he prepared himself for the battle. The first to hit the field was Batman, his Gliscor who recognized the trainer and eagerly readied himself for a battle. The second was Digi who saw the two pokemon, and simply yawned as he was bored and tired. "You can go first." Sam said. ::Gliscor:: Name: Batman Gender: Male Level: 24 Attack Set 1: Aqua Tail, Ice Fang, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang Attack Set 2: Poison Jab, Sand Attack, Faint Attack, Metal Claw Ability: Hyper Cutter/Sand Veil

Kindle's tail twitched as he watched the incoming battle, sensing a strange tension between the opposing sides. He sensed another battle, like the kind he was in earlier, but this time he noticed he wasn't being picked. It made him feel good, just sticking with Seamus for now as he cuddled against him. The trainer continued to ignore the childish acts as the new Pokemon were sent out into the fray, and they did look rather tough.
"Ah, it's the Pokemon from the first battle." He remembered the face, but definitely not the name. It had a new form, which was quite impressive looking. Thinking back on it, that was probably what a Gligar was, wasn't it? Silly mind fart. It happened sometimes. He was a bit unfamiliar with the typing of the foes, but Digletts were a common house pest and were often frightened away by water.
"Alright, let's start. Dragon Dance and Scary Face." A good advantage in speed would be nice, and he was going to try to send Acetate against the poison type foe, since most poison types were purple. If it seemed too rough, they could always switch. Ethyl started to dance around, though a tad shy, she felt nervous about her new moves. The rhythm was contagious though, and she soon felt the familiar speed and attack boost while Acetate gave a heavy, spooky glare at the Gliscor.
"Metal Claw and Take Down." Were the next commands, and he had his Pokedex out by now. He scanned both foes to at least get their names and general information. Gliscor and Diglett, both ground types. That made things tricky for his steel types, didn't it? The Totodile charged at the Diglett with steel like claws, while the Shieldon ran straight towards the Gliscor with the intention of striking him.
