Seamus looked at his two foes carefully and held in a small smile; Budew and Pidgey, definitely Pokemon that were common on the first route. Those were not fun times, but he endured them nonetheless. He nodded to signal that the battle was ready to go, and it seemed that he got the first turn. So where to start? If the Pidgey knew any flying attacks, Kindle would definitely be in trouble. The Budew he wasn't so concerned about, but he decided to simply test the waters this time around. The Hoppip and Gligar looked curiously at the Pokemon that were sent out, and sensed a similarity between them and the Budew. The Pidgey just seemed grouchy, so they weren't sure what to make of that.
"Tail Whip." He ordered, and Kindle was such a good listener that he began right away. He turned around, showing his rear end to both foes and began to wiggle his tail at them cutely. The Gligar blinked at the display, and also tried to mimic it. Hers was definitely a bit more frightening than Kindle's though, and it just didn't even count. She looked at her tail with a goofy expression, as if she accomplished something.
"Nitro, you should try your Rock Climb on the Budew." It was a new move to him at least, but it was one of the reasons why he wanted to keep her around. It was generally useful in this region, so the Gligar was actually very important. Nitro nodded at the command and charged at the Budew, attempting to crawl all over its face before jumping off.

As the battle began, Apollo decided that this time, he was going to help his Pokemon out in the battle. Usually, he let them battle by themselves and learn from their own mistakes.... And he had a feeling Lana would do the same anyway. But Kitaki wasn't normally much of a fighter, so he figured he should give her some guidance. "Kitaki, watch out for that Rock Climb! Dodge to the side! Then, counter with your own Absorb attack!" came his first command. The Tail Whip affected both of the combatants, so he wasn't about to let his Pokemon take a big hit right from the get-go. He knew that he didn't have much variety in terms of attacks...and this was probably the best he was going to get. Following Apollo's command, Kitaki jumped to the side, narrowly side-stepping the Gligar's attack. On Apollo's second order, he again complied, trying to latch onto the Ground and Flying type Pokemon and leech some of her strength from her. On the other hand, Lana the Pidgey swooped around on her own, aiming right for the Gligar...but not before kicking up some of the dust on the battlefield floor and threw it at her with Sand Attack before coming in for a full-body Tackle attack. ::Budew:: Kitaki; Lv. 7 Hit by Tail Whip! {DEF: -1} Dodged Rock Climb! Nitrogen gasped as her Rock Climb missed, and her wings scrambled to back herself up before she collided into anything dangerous. She cried in surprise as she held both her claws and feet to the wall, just avoiding a painful collision at top speed. The little Gligar turned her head to see the Budew waiting for her with some pretty green orbs around her, so she pushed herself off the wall and glided on over to her to see what that was about. Bad call, because they attached themselves right onto her like an infestation of mold or mice. They covered her like crazy to sap her health before going back to their true owner, giving her a wee bit of health back.
Kindle watched this all with amusement, noticing the Pidgey coming towards the Gligar with a 'been there done that' grin. The Gligar didn't see that coming, and was smacked right in mid air. That was not the best of turns for the Gligar, but losing was the only way to learn! This was what Seamus told him all of the time, and he kind of understood what it meant. It sucked though, but seeing another go through the same thing made it a little better.
"Cotton Guard." Seamus winked at Kindle, seeing that they hadn't even bothered to attack the real target. The Hoppip shook his leaves, and right away thick spores emerged from them and completely surrounded him like a dense armor. Physical attacks now sucked against the Hoppip, but they could always use it a second time to make him even bulkier. "Sand Attack the Budew, and go for the Pidgey with Metal Claw." That would be a good distraction wouldn't it? With Nitrogen shaking her head after the collision, she had a determined spark in her eyes to do something right as she kicked up a wave of sand at the Budew. She suddenly made a quick turn around the grass type and snapped her claws together. A metallic sheen covered them, and she started to swipe at the Pidgey with her tongue sticking out playfully.
"Might as well use Double Edge, get in there Kindle." Seamus approved so far, even if recoil would probably hurt depending on how injured the Budew was. The relaxed Hoppip nodded with a wiggle of his rear end, and charged straight for the fellow grass type. This sudden charge would probably hurt, but it would help in the end.

Apollo watched as the events unfolded. He was happy to see that his Pokemon's attacks had been successfully pulled off...but he didn't really see much of an improvement on the situation at hand. His opponent's Pokemon were still strong, and that Hoppip had done what he had been afraid of. Cotton Guard was an annoying move that heavily boosted the Pokemon's Defenses. But still, Hoppip itself wasn't much to worry about. It was a species infamous for being one of the weakest Pokemon species in existence. Of course, Apollo was never one to judge by such a simple-minded standard. He knew species meant virtually nothing when it came to strength, as long as the proper training had been put into it. But judging by its performance so far, such experience didn't seem to be there quite yet. While Apollo was busy with such thoughts, his Pokemon were responding to the attacks from the other two Pokemon. Kitaki had not been expecting such a sudden attack, and was quickly blinded by the assault of sand in his face. He stumbled slightly on his stubby little legs and shook himself, trying to clear his vision. While he was clearing his eyes, he suddenly felt a light body slam hard into him with surprising strength. He stumbled more and fell down onto his back as a result. He shook himself and was able to get back to his feet afterward, though. In the meantime, the Pidgey Lana had her own problems to deal with. The Gligar flew at her and slashed her hard across the chest with his Metal Claw attack. She let out a small gasp of pain from her beak, and she turned around in the air, managing to stop herself from falling. Apollo snapped out of his thoughts and returned to the battle at hand. He had to remember that they weren't in a situation where he could sit back calmly and think about everything. He had to be more active in his battles. "Alright Kitaki, let's...er...let's start with Growth!" He would need the extra bit of power if he was going to put up a better fight in this situation. "Then quickly, Absorb more strength from that Gligar!" Immediately afterward, he turned his attention to Lana. She didn't like the orders, but he was going to give them anyway. "Lana, Sand Attack...aim for the Hoppip! Then turn around and use Tackle on the Gligar as well!" He knew there was little point in attacking Kindle. There was no way he'd be able to inflict enough damage to cause a difference in this one round. So, he decided to focus his attention on a single Pokemon, and try to take him out first, so that they could begin double-teaming the second Pokemon. Both Pokemon, though Lana rather reluctantly, obeyed Apollo's commands. Lana tried to kick up the dust that had long-since settled on the ground and send it in Kindle's direction with her wings, using the Sand Attack. As this was going on, Kitaki had concentrated on growing himself a bit more. The moment he was done, he launched himself at Nitrogen and tried to Absorb more strength from her. With her Special Attack increased by Growth, this would hopefully inflict a bit more damage. Lana, trying to use Kitaki as a distraction, came at Nitrogen from a different angle, trying to ram into her side with the Tackle attack she had used before. ::Budew:: Kitaki; Lv. 7 Hit by Sand Attack! Hit by Double Edge! Used Growth! Used Absorb on Nitrogen! {DEF: -1, Dodges: 1}
::Pidgey:: Lana; Lv. 7.5 Hit by Metal Claw! Used Sand Attack on Kindle! Used Tackle on Nitrogen! {DEF: -1}

Nitrogen was clearly the weakest link, as the Hoppip was only given recoil and sand to deal with while Nitro got all of the action. The poor Gligar stumbled over her own feet in her attempt to get out of the way, succumbing to the Absorb as it bit at her wing while she was tackled to the side. She was shoved out of the way before the Absorb could harm her too much at least, but she was planning on gliding away from it anyways.
With a determined cry and with pained tears in her eyes, she started back into the air to chase after the Pidgey. It was a winged creature like her, and they could both interact in the skies. It seemed like a better Pokemon to attack then the Budew, at least to her. With a glowing metallic claw, she chased after the Pidgey while attempting to whack the creature over the head, not having a plan except attack attack attack. Seamus didn’t have a problem with it; she was still learning after all, but if they kept double teaming her then she probably wouldn’t last much longer.
He’d have to ninja an Encore on them later on, when they really needed it. ”Do the same thing, Kindle. You’re doing fine.” He nodded politely to the Hoppip, who seemed confused about being ignored this turn. The Hoppip let out a small smile as he shook his leaves again; seriously bundling up for any pesty Tackles that came his way. They couldn’t hurt him much now! He then went after the Budew with a growl, wiggling his tail playfully as he went for the reckless Double Edge.
