The only one that was really listening to the Pidgey was Ken, and he was a stubborn rock that never knew when to quit. Especially when he was locked into a rollout that he couldn’t stop whenever he wanted to, and until the move missed it was only going to keep getting stronger. Talking would’ve been too hard in this situation, with him rolling so quickly and all, so he pretended not to hear the Pidgey’s comment. It was probably a lie anyways, that Hoothoot looked beyond frightened. That Pidgey was a tricky one though, managing to tackle him from the side to send his rollout onto a wobbly course.
<Hey!> He grumbled, turning sharply around so he could attempt to rock that Pidgey over with a roll. He didn’t have any particular grudge against the bird, but this was a fair battle, at least in his mind. He didn’t know what his trainer was doing though; it felt as if he wasn’t even being watched. He shook those thoughts off of his mind, thinking that Susumu had to be guiding over him.
<Oh! Oh! Here it is! Lunch!> Masaaki’s mouth watered at the sight of the bird chick, running over to the little form that inched closer to him bit by bit. The mother Noctowl was still far off in her tree, focused on putting the other chicks to sleep, so it was just him and the bird. Now this worked out lovely! ”Touch the bird anymore and you die.” An angry voice was right behind him and the small fox flinched from the shock of the tone. H-He was angry with HIM? Of all Pokemon?
Now the Vulpix didn’t like that at all, but he stood next to the Hoothoot with a roll of his eyes. <Don’t touch the biiiiiird.> He stuck his tongue out at Susumu as he said it with a sarcastic whine, huffing in annoyance. Susumu scoffed at the behavior, but knelt down to get a better look at the injured creature. He didn’t have anything on him to heal a fainted status, but all it needed was to rest up, right? ”Hey, come here little guy. Your mother’s waiting for you.” He whispered, scooping the fainted Hoothoot into his arms, expecting a small struggle as he rubbed the bird’s head gently. Masaaki watched on jealously, but pretended to be more interested in the Pidgey that was getting its butt kicked.

The Pidgey saw one more roll out come his way but fortunately he was able to dodge this one as it wasn't the most accurate attack, especially after two sand attacks were used on the Geodude. But the Pidgey was getting his butt handed to him and he didn't appreciate that anymore. In an instant he attempted to throw sand at the Geodude once more, hopefully blinding him enough so he could make a dash for it. He began to take flight, ready to leave, but just couldn't find the motivation in doing so. This was personal between him, the trainer, and the Geodude. He couldn't just leave like that. No, he had to stay and finish this through. Even though, staying would almost guarantee a loss... ::Pidgey:: ~ beginning to weaken Level 16 | Male Attacks: Gust, Sand-attack, Tackle, Quick Attack Personality: He is a minion of the Pidgeot who was beaten up and embarrassed by the Noctowl. Dodged Roll Out. Used Sand-Attack The Hoothoot was luckily scooped up by the blond hair trainer, but as he predicted, it was not without a bit of struggle. He subconsciously tried to move around from left to right, hoping to get away from the trainer but eventually gave in and just stood there. It was then that he finally started to sleep peacefully. He was a lot of work but the look on his face while he was sleeping right now was just something that was so precious, it should be treasured. ::Hoothoot:: Level 15 | Male Attacks: Tackle, Growl, Foresight, Hypnosis, Peck, Uproar Personality: Although at level 15, he is incredibly weak for his level. He was held captive and is incredibly scared at the moment. Also one of the babies of the Noctowl (duh)

Now that the Hoothoot had settled down, Susumu let out a relieved sigh as he started to walk out of the tall grass with Masaaki trailing behind him. The battle with the Pidgey seemed to be going well, plus it was good training for Ken. The only issue was that the bird was trying to get away. A bit of a shame, but he had to train somehow. ”Keep going Ken.” He encouraged, getting back out into the clearing with the Hoothoot keeping his chest nice and toasty. It would probably be a while before the creature woke up, so he wasn’t going to bother disturbing him.
<If you lose rock-o, you’ll be lower than dirt.> The Vulpix huffed, seeing the clear advantage Ken had over something so weak. He snickered when the Rollout missed though, seeing that all of those Sand Attacks had totaled up to give the Geodude a general struggle attacking anything. Yet he was still very resistant to whatever the Pidgey could dish out. The Geodude stopped the rollout completely, throwing his arms out like breaks in front of him, slowing him down before stopping.
Susumu decided to step in here, just in case the bird tried to get away or brought in back up. The Stealth Rock was good at keeping foes out, so he wondered if it could be used to give the Pidgey a harder time leaving. ”Stealth Rock, then go for Mega Punch.” He kept a neutral expression, of course feeling some guilt for beating up birds when he was protecting some, but what if the Pidgey came back for the Hoothoot? Maybe he should catch it. Not that he minded, since it wouldn’t be too bad having at least one bird around.
The Geodude slammed his fists into the ground, grinning as mystical rocks started to hover in the sky. They were near the Pidgey’s form as well, so if anyone tried to enter and protect him, those would be there to cause some harm. He wasn’t done yet, as he rubbed his eyes to try and get rid of some of the sand, he curled his fingers up into a fist. Then he jumped up and landed near the Pidgey, aiming his fist for the bird’s beak.

Hit by Mega Punch~ CH. Used Gust Pidgey probably couldn't even have escaped anyways, even without the stealth rocks. But now it was entirely impossible for him to see a way out, even though he was searching vehemently to find one. He thought he saw one, and then a rock blocked his path, and the same thing happened again and again. And THEN to make things worse, a fist came flying out of nowhere at his beak. It cracked the top half of his hard beak. He wailed in agony and lifted his hurt wing to cover his hurt beak. His other wing began to flap quickly, a mini-vortex forming in the air in front of him. It flew rapidly towards the Geodude. A pathetic gust attack. What was a poor Pidgey to do?

The Pidgey looked as if it was definitely having trouble, especially as it tried to fly away from the incoming Mega Punch. It was like a KA-POW to the face, just what Ken wanted to see when he was in a battle with his foes. Being the second Pokemon on the team, he had this big desire to prove himself to move up to the number one rank, guarded by that pesky Masaaki. It was mostly in his head, but he could tell that Susumu favored certain Pokemon. He trained with the other ones more than he trained with him, and it was sickening at times. He needed to feel important, and this was how he was going to get that feeling.
He backed off when the Pidgey kicked up a Gust, which he was pretty resistant against, but it stung his eyes. As if they weren't dry enough, the Pidgey had to go mess him up some more. He felt stupid with how much trouble this bird was causing him; it was going to end soon and he was going to make sure of that. "Defense Curl, then risk another Rollout." Susumu was taking a risk, especially with that lowered accuracy. Still, the defense was nice, and maybe Ken would learn something if the Pidgey annoyed him a bit.
The Geodude curled up into a defensive position, making his body even harder to withstand whatever the Pidgey could do to him, and then shot off like a giant rolling stone. The Vulpix looked on with a snicker, secretly hoping that Ken would crash into something while Susumu held the wild Hoothoot in his arms. Right after this, he was going to have to take it back to the nest. If there were more, he wasn't even sure where to start.

The rollout came right at the Pidgey once more and trampled on him, causing him to fall on the floor and wipe out completely after the hit. It was one too many hits for the poor bird who lay there on the floor, eyes flickering a bit before he finally gave way. Before he fainted, he called once more to his leader. >Pidgeot!< But nothing happened. Complete silence. He just stood there, fainted, and as he had feared he had picked an impossible battle... And came out the loser in it also. Now the Hoothoot was safe, and the Pidgey had fainted. What would Shamu do? The skies the limit as there was no signs of where the other Hoothoot might have gone. So basically he could do anything he wanted while still saying that he was: "searching" for the Hoothoot. ::Pidgey:: ~ Fainted Level 16 | Male Attacks: Gust, Sand-attack, Tackle, Quick Attack Personality: He is a minion of the Pidgeot who was beaten up and embarrassed by the Noctowl. With the Pidgey down and Ken victorious, Ken stopped whatever attack he was using and started to jump with a cheer. Susumu was glad about it and all, but there was no reason to dwell around here if they had no business. Still, he should probably catch the Pidgey so it didn't come back to haunt them. He threw a Pokeball at the fainted bird, waiting to see what would happen.
<Aye aye aye, that's a my dinner! Why you do this?> The Vulpix complained, glaring at his trainer as he ran over to the Pidgey and the Pokeball, wondering if he should somehow stop the capture from happening. He wanted bird meat at least once around here! Apparently everything tasted like chicken and he had yet to eat a real bird.
"Good job Ken, take a nap." The trainer wished he could stretch, but balancing a Hoothoot in his arms and returning a Geodude back into his Pokeball was a difficult thing. Besides, he had plans. After he caught the Pidgey, he was planning on dropping this chick off at the nest so he could look for the other ones. It was pretty possible that they would never find it, but he had to make an effort at least.

The ball quickly hit the Pidgey and clamped shut completely on the poor defenseless bird. Unfortunately this was part of the life of a wild pokemon, first you get beaten and then you get captured. It was common for most wild pokemon and this Pidgey was no different as he became a prisoner of Shamu. He would never see his commander again, or his gang, or anything. The Pidgey had a chance to run but for some reason he chose not to... He will probably regret that decision for the rest of his life though. ::Pidgey:: ~ Captured Level 16 | Male Attacks: Gust, Sand-attack, Tackle, Quick Attack Personality: He is a minion of the Pidgeot who was beaten up and embarrassed by the Noctowl. He holds a grudge and for that, kidnapped one of her babies. Note: Can't fly at the moment... Hurt wing in Roll Out. And immediately as the ball clamped shut, a Noctowl came out of nowhere and flew in front of Shamu upon seeing the trainer with the Hoothoot. Although the trainer wouldn't know it yet, and probably wouldn't find out for some time now... This Noctowl was actually the last Hoothoot in the gang. Apparently while the mother was away, one of her older children evolved and flew away in search of his mother. He had been distracted for a bit and when he came back, he saw one Hoothoot missing so he went to search for him. Now he found the other Hoothoot, but in addition that he also saw the trainer "kidnap" the pokemon. This meant war! ::Noctowl:: Level 20, Male Attacks: Sky Attack, Tackle, Growl, Foresight, Hypnosis, Peck, Reflect Personality: He is the other "hoothoot" that went missing. Susumu happily picked up the Pidgey’s Pokeball, twirling it around in his finger as he waited for the thing to quickly zap away to his PC. He kind of felt like a magician there, making it go away because he didn’t have enough room in his party to hold onto the creature. He could always pick the Pidgey up later, but he saw a lot of trainers with Pidgeys. He kind of wanted to spread out a little from that kind of thing, so he didn’t think he’d go on to actually train it much. If anything for funzies, or he could find someone that could actually take care of it.
<Don’t look so cool. It’s embarrassing.> The Vulpix snorted, letting the Hoothoot be nice and calm in Susumu’s arms by not tackling his trainer down or by shouting obnoxious things. All they had to do was take this thing back home, right? He never saw his trainer catch the darn bird, so he thought there was something else going on. Of course, not as if his trainer would actually explain things to him. It was so hard being a Pokemon, he swore.
Then this giant freaking Noctowl came out of nowhere, scaring both trainer and Pokemon as Susumu held the Hoothoot chick protectively to his chest. Another bird, huh? He could take it on, hell, they could take them all on! ”One of the Pidgey’s friends? Shame. Attacking a bird that’s your own species…” He narrowed his eyes, not sure if the Noctowl understood him, but Masaaki sure did. They were being attacked? Oh boy, he had better figure something out.
<Aye, we need this bird, yeah?> Masaaki took a few steps forward to try and be protective, but he was trembling from the size difference. Giant freaking bird. How were they going to do this? He hoped Susumu had a plan besides ‘wait and see’ because he didn’t know how long he could pull that kind of strategy off. <I don’t know why, because Susumu can’t understand me when I ask him, but I’m sure it’s important.> Maturity? Whoa now that was different. <He’s a loser.> He shook his head dramatically to the side. Well, there goes that.

Shamu probably had some ill intentions for the little Hoothoot, for his sibling even! (I'm just gonna assume Noctowl would recognize his sibling >->) "Now. Put the boy down and leave!" He lifted his wings up, extending them high above his head while he tried to look as big and powerful as he could. He rushed foreword to fake an attack. The atmosphere between the Vulpix and Noctowl was not looking good from Susumu’s point of view, and it looked as if the bird was even trying to scold the fox. Though he had to admit, it was Masaaki, and chances are he probably deserved it. Feeling the need to protect the Hoothoot so it could see its mother again, Susumu held it carefully against his chest. No, he wasn’t going to capture it or anything. He’d let the mother keep it so they could finally move on and do legit training. The Noctowl looked hostile enough though, so maybe they could use it to train for the next gym.
”We don’t have time for this, Mimizuku is waiting.” Yeah, long name. He found that it rolled nicely off his tongue, and besides, it was technically how you said Noctowl in Japanese. Kind of. Masaaki looked at him as if he was crazy, not knowing what the hell kind of situation was going on. Who was that? Why was that ‘Mimi’ thing so important? Gah, priorities, what were they?! <F-Fine, you got a plan? OH WHAT THE--> The Vulpix jumped into the air with fright when the Noctowl faked an attack, and even Susumu ducked out of the way.
This was getting dangerous, even the little one was at risk. ”So we’re dealing with a friend of the Pidgey’s, eh? Think its fun to rob baby Hoothoot from their nests?” He demanded, mocking a thug kind of motion with his hands. Word. Actually Noctowls were strong enough to pick him up into the air, so he didn’t entirely want to get into a fist fight with such a thing. Maybe a Sentret…or a Patrat. ”Use Confuse Ray.” Susumu added quickly, sensing a battle whether the Noctowl meant for one or not. This was a classic case of poor communication between parties, but lewk, violence!
<Ha, call me insane. Oh yeah. Watch these moves. I’m like Lindsey Lohan, baby.> The Vulpix started to shake his booty as he made up a mini rap based on quotes from songs he heard. With a mischievous look, he jumped up at the Noctowl and clapped his paws together, making a bright light appear at the same time as the sound. How dazzling!

The Noctowl sent a foresight right at the Vulpix as the confuse ray came his way. This allowed him enough time to see the attack and instantly he flew up to avoid the confuse ray. Now he knew that a battle was inevitable, they were definitely trying to kidnap his sibling and he would not have that. He would get them, not this turn but on the next he will make them pay... >I see you are enemies of my mother! You will pay for that! I will get my brother back. You can bet on that!< He said out loud, not knowing the situation at all. Masaaki was impressed that the Noctowl dodged his attack, and his eyes kept looking at the delicious moving target that swooped around him. That is, until the giant freaking bird used another kind of fake out on him, making him leap back in surprise with a squeal. <Not this again!> He whined, fleeing back to Susumu’s side in retreat. He wasn’t gonna fight another prankster, he’d get owned so hard! He started to push against Susumu’s legs to make him move, because he was not dealing with this freaking angry bird. This was not an ipod app this was real life!
”What? You can’t take him?” Susumu looked down anxiously at the Vulpix, not budging from the Vulpix’s shoves. Masaaki made a mad cry, which was really unlike him, and bit at his trainer’s leg. He wasn’t wearing long pants, so of course that went into the skin right away. ”Ahhh! The hell?!” Susumu cried, suddenly bolting in a familiar direction with Masaaki close behind.
<We need back up! Back up!> Masaaki started to howl wildly, as if he was being driven by nothing but madness and fear. He hopped over some sticks as he chased after his trainer, not sure where the safest place to be was. ”Ok, ok, uh…let’s check with Mimizuku.” Susumu panted, wondering if the mother Noctowl could beat some sense into this one. It was just a thought, considering Masaaki suddenly became a coward and everything.

>Running away? Don't make me catapult myself to you!< The angry bird said to the trainer and the Vulpix as he saw them run away. He wanted that 5000 points for hitting his target and destroying the Vulpix. Then he would get another 5000 for destroying the blond hair boy. After that, he could finally do what he set out to do in the first place and save the Hoothoot. But the pair just kept on running in a familiar direction. Back to where the nest was... It was definitely something he knew about so he found this to be a good time to take them for a ride. Maybe scare them into submission by threatening to feed him to the other Hoothoot for not returning his brother. >You don't want to give him back? Fine... The Noctowl was fortunate to grab onto Susumu’s shirt with both talons, but that left it near impossible for the bird to grab onto Masaaki. It simply did not work out that way. The Vulpix darted between the bushes as the extremely angry bird picked up his trainer, much like how the Noctowl’s mother did a few pages back, and started to carry him back to the nest. Déjà vu for Susumy at least, but it was new to the fox. Masaaki was panting heavily as Susumu squirmed in the bird’s grip, but when they got higher and higher he suddenly stopped and remained motionless.
”Ok uh…I’m not moving. Not gonna risk it. Not even gonna try.” He gulped, petting the baby Hoothoot on the head as he looked nervously down at the ground. Falling would really hurt, and he wasn’t gonna risk it with a little one in his grip. Masaaki was quick to act, and started to bolt in the direction of his trainer in a frantic scramble.
The duo made it to the tree before Masaaki did, and the mother Noctowl looked more than surprised. She didn’t recognize the son at first, but a mother always knows her child. The more dramatic thing of it was that her trainer was holding another chick while being carried around by some stranger. She hopped to the edge of the nest, holding out her wings to protect the other chicks with a stern expression. She wasn’t about to give in to any more invasions!
<W-Wait. Are you…?> She stopped, stunned. It was her chick, the little one that she had left not that long ago. She had only left for the afternoon to find a decent kill for them, which was the human in question, but the human had ended up helping her rescue her chicks. One was in his arms, looking weak from some kind of struggle. She imagined there had to of been one if it was robbed from her nest so suddenly. The other had evolved, maybe in pursuit of whatever attacked the nest. <My baby?> She asked, feeling it somewhere in the Noctowl’s somewhat mature expression.
"Oh uh, hi Mimizuku. Just uh, hanging around." Susumu felt awkward as he dangled, but he couldn't simply hand over the chick to her. Not with all of this distance between them and the nest. This male Noctowl was simply too unpredictable to make things that easy for him.

The angry bird quickly dropped the trainer from a high flight and tried to make him smack the nest hard as he flew up and gave his mother the biggest hug he could. >Mommy you are safe! It really was her baby! The Noctowl was so glad when he hugged her, seeing her child all grown up was certainly one of the best feelings she could experience. She left the nest to feed them something and they were all Hoothoots, now when she came back, one had grown up. Able to leave the nest if he so desired, well, he’d probably have to anyways. Their nest was too small to hold them all in here! She’d talk to him about that later, because the moron child just dropped the so called ‘kidnapper’ that was holding his brother. <N-Noctowl!> She cried, flying around him in order to catch Susumu before he touched the ground, also saving her young from any extra pain.
”Ahhhh! Ah, I mean. …I’m not falling. Right.” The trainer went from screaming in nothing but total fear to being completely embarrassed as Mimizuku let him safely on the ground. As soon as he was on his two feet she carefully took the child out of his arms, brushing back its feathers to make sure it was alright. Breathing normally, but either unconscious or sleeping. The poor dear had been in a struggle from what she could see, but the trainer was true to his word when he said he would bring them back.
<Dear, he couldn’t have taken your brother. I found him far off in the hunting grounds with no Hoothoot. In fact, he was supposed to be your lunch.> She glared at the human then flew back into the nest, feeling no obligation to be his Pokemon. She wouldn’t kill him at the very least, she owed him that much. <Leave him be, I asked him to find your brother and yourself.> She said wisely, hoping that he’d understand. Now all Susumu had to do was leave, and there really would be no problems.
<I’m heeeeere! Susu don’t get eaten! I’ll be your Robin Hood if you’ll be my Mary Ann!> Masaaki dramatically cried as he ran over, panting heavily from his mad dash chasing after the pair. He didn’t dare look up, but Susumu was still glaring at the male Noctowl that was about to use a Sky Attack. He was going to stop…right? It seemed that Mimizuku knew the bird, but he wasn’t sure what was going on. His Vulpix looked exhausted from the chase, so if they ever did have to battle, he’d have to use Roar or something to scare it off.

::noctowl:: Level 20, Male Attacks: Sky Attack, Tackle, Growl, Foresight, Hypnosis, Peck, Reflect Personality: He is the other "hoothoot" that went missing. But instead he simply flew away to search for his mother. Recently evolved, very protective of the family and does not trust any Pokémon or human at all. Very independent...
"If you say so mom...." He wouldn't of believed it if the human or his Vulpix said it. But his mother wouldn't lie to him. Calmly the Noctowl landed on a branch and locked his eyes on Shamu. Despite his mother's intervention and her vouching for his intentions Noctowl didn't seem to trust him at all. And to test his theory that this human was still some sort of scum he narrowed his eyes and leaned towards Shamu. "Good, then since we're all together again maybe the helpful human will leave us alone?" He puffed out his chest to look as big as he possibly could. Wise owl eyes wouldn't leave Shamu for a second. He hardly blinked.

Susumu seemed to understand what was going on and he scooped up Masaaki in his arms, pressing the Pokeball to the Vulpix's nose and returning him at once. This was his chance to leave, so he raised his hands in front of his chest to show that he meant no harm. "Yeah, well, this was fun. Uh, I'll be going. Don't try to eat me next time. Heh. Heh heh." He started to slink away into the woods with the mother Noctowl frowning at her son's distrustful actions. Still, it was good to be done with it all.
<Now that you've evolved, you can help me expand the nest.> She announced proudly with a pat on her son's back. Now that was something to think about. Working for his stay with his mother. A rather nagging mother. She was still technically owned by Susumu, but he never did officially release her. That only meant that she couldn't be captured by anyone else, which was kind of nice. A troll to other trainers, even.
What's done is done, and Susumu was now wandering around the trees of the second route. He was much too far from the bridge and pond, and really didn't know where he was. "Good job me, five points. Let's try not to screw yourself up." He sighed, scratching his head as he picked the wrong direction to wander in.
Noctowl Plot: Done! Yay!

The Noctowl and Hoothoot quickly waved goodbye to Shamu as he prepared to leave and when he had gone far enough, Mimizuku quickly flew after her previous trainer to give him a parting gift before he left. She flew right in front of Shamu and quickly tried to stop him in his tracks as she wanted a proper goodbye from the trainer who helped her find her babies and also helped her experience life outside of the mother kingdom. It was actually very fun to be outside of her nest and actually do something, so she definitely wanted to thank the trainer for everything. She opened her wings and quickly gave Shamu a hug for all he helped her with. Shedding a tear, she quickly let go and flew away but dropped a little something on the way for Shamu. ::Noctowl:: { Mimizuku } Name Definition: Horned Owl Level 21, Female Attacks: Sky Attack, Tackle, Growl, Foresight, Hypnosis, Peck, Reflect Personality: Very motherly and sort of a predator who goes out herself to try to get food for her children Note: Caught in Route 2, on a mission to find her children before night time. Flies out of nest to catch Susumu, warns son not to be impulsive Gave you a hug and then left. Dropped for you
